RJ's Platinum Collection #9: The Artful Escape
Achieved on 9/5/2022 at 6:53 PM
I saw this game on PS Plus and thought the cover art was cool, so I decided to play it. I didn't actually know it even had a Platinum at the time, but I ended up greatly enjoying my experience with this short, weird, psychedelic, but ultimately fun and captivating game about being the best and truest version of yourself.
Ok before I say anything else, can we take a second to talk about the fucking VOICE TALENT this game has? The main character is one of the guys from Teen Wolf, but the main intergalactic rockstar guy is voiced by CARL WEATHERS aka APOLLO FUCKING CREED!!!! And then another one of the aliens is LENA HEADEY aka CERSEI LANNISTER????
Like damn.
ANYWAY you play as a boy named Francis who's uncle was a famous folk musician and everyone expects Francis to continue his uncle's legacy but Francis is more into rock and roll and is insecure about it. Then Francis gets talked into joining a spaceship full of music loving aliens and go across the universe and perform concerts on different planets, all in the goal of impressing the GlamourGonn, the most harsh judge in the cosmos.
The gameplay pretty much consists of controlling Francis and running through the gorgeous alien landscapes while freely playing notes on your guitar, and occasionally stopping to do Simon Says-style jam sessions on stage. Simply play the game and you will get all 8 story trophies and possibly a lot of the miscellaneous trophies as well.
1/13: Made It Home - Arrived at Francis' house.
2/12: The Journey Begins - Leave Lightmans' workshop.
3/13: Complete Heliotromms - Jam with Tromms.
4/13: How'd You Get Up There? - Land on top of the archway after the Big Jelly.
5/13: New Threads - Create a custom outfit.
6/13: Complete GlimmerDimm - Jam with Glimmer.
7/13: Amp Jammer - Complete all amp landa jams.
8/13: Complete Hyperion - Jam with the GlamourGonn.
9/13: Guitar Legend - Complete the game.
Once I completed the game, I used chapter select to go back and get the remaining trophies.
10/13: Snowman - Jam with the snowman.
11/13: Light It Up - Light up every building and area of Calypso.
12/13: Stage Fright - Don't do anything for 3 minutes during a jam.
And that is that! I got the platinum for The Artful Escape.
13/13: All Done - Unlock all trophies.
I wasn't expecting a lot from this game, but the art style is awesome, the story is actually quite interesting, the designs of all the aliens is unique and are all inspired by different music eras/genres, and the message of being true to your own artistic vision and doing art for yourself instead of popularity are well translated. I definitely think this is a fun little game to platinum!

I Platinumed Hogwarts Legacy and Here's What I Have to Say About the Game
Alright.... So....
Yes, I am a trans woman.
No, I do not support JK or her views.
Hogwarts Legacy was given to me as a gift for my birthday. The person who gave me the gift was not aware of JK... in general. Like, they have zero idea who she even is.
We're well pass the point of harassing people over the franchise so please remain chill or move on to a different post, please.
Now, Hogwarts Legacy as a game is... mid at best. It's average and does well occupying your time. Majority of the trophies were collection based which my 1990s neuron activated on. What can I say? Everyone who played games in the 90s were hooked on collectathons like Banjo Kazooie, Sly Cooper, and Kirby.
Unless you enjoy obsessively collecting everything and the kitchen sink, you're probably not going to enjoy the game much less going for the platinum trophy.
Really, this is a game made for a very specific target audience and it's a target audience I'm a part of. That being fans of the Harry Potter books and movies. Mostly movies.
See, back in the era where everyone got along because politics was boring old people sitting around smelling their own farts (little changed since then) and no one wanted to get into that bull. Kids to teenagers enjoyed a magical series of stories adapted to the silver screen. And it was in this era collectathon platformers were king of the game industry... until Halo happened.
I think Portkey games figured out what people who enjoyed Harry Potter would have played when JK actually kept her fat mouth shut.
Collectathons! Where the player goes out to gather a set number of items for an award. Which is why a large portion of the trophies are "collect all the _____"
There must've been good foresight at Portkey because the Revelio spell saved me a lot of time gathering all of the stuff. From spells to chests to flying pieces of paper. I had a lot of fun exploring the castle and area outside. But I absolutely recognize not many people will enjoy that.
Exploring the castle and grounds is something the target audience (aka Wizarding World fans) really wanted most out of the game. We wanted to be immersed in the world and point to the screen like Leo whenever we notice a reference to the movies or books. We actively log in to pottermore to get our house colors and shiny new wand with glee. Completely ignorant of the world outside the fantasy. Be honest, you don't want to deal with the crisis the last few years have been. Portkey tailored the game to be our escape for just the few hours we needed.
Adding more to that. We also wanted to see all the Hogwarts houses on the inside... except Griffindore. Gryffindoor sucks.
Personally, the Ravenclaw dorm room was everything I ever wanted. The blue and bronze mixed with marble pillars and statues made me happy. It gave me a few decorating ideas for my own room!
The other houses had to be seen... except Gryffendorm. I was extremely reluctant to go in Gryfindorm. And incentive was given in the form of four separate trophies for each Hogwarts house.
You see, there's one quest that changes for each house. Ravenclaw gets an owl puzzle. I very much enjoyed it, Slytherin feeds toast to a kraken mosaic. Hufflepuff gets sent to Azkaban. and the last one parties with a bunch of ghosts. Three of them were quite enjoyable but my enjoyment came from walking around the other dorms.
While walking around Slytherin's aquatic scenery and Hufflepuff's cozy cottage were delights, I still preferred Ravenclaw's sky view tower with starry ceilings. I'm a true blue Ravenclaw.
Even though I loved exploring the castle and everything, it was quite painful to collect every single item for the collector trophy.
I had finished all side quests, all revelio pages, even the trials and demiguise statues! Yet I was still missing a single collection chest. Really did not help the map showed all chests had been found. The butterfly chests are hidden from the map. So I ended up wiping the entire map clean and tripled check back and forth only to discover that the single chest I was missing was in the back of the swamp terrarium in the Room of Requirement.
That was the biggest frustration out of the entire game. Not a bad trade off for all the fun I had. However, not many people will feel the same. Particularly if they were never invested in the Wizarding World.
Hogwarts Legacy is definitely a great game for a specific target audience. For everyone else, it's an easy passable mild distraction. Whoever wanted to play this game already got it. Despite the hell storm that followed it.
Portkey games did a fantastic job with a hot button title but it's only good if you actually want it. If you're no fan of collectathons, Wizarding World, or wondering around for hours then do yourself a favor and avoid this game. If you do like those three things then go ahead! Just try to be patient if you're going to go for platinum.

Everything on the maps completed in Hogwarts Legacy on the PS5. There’s a bug with the field guide pages in the Hogwarts map. I have actually collected all the pages,… it just doesn’t register as that I have on the map. Eventually they’ll release an update fixing that bug and I will have achieved the platinum trophy.

What Drives A Trophy Hunter?
What Drives A Trophy Hunter? I lot of people are quite serious about earning trophies in gaming, and will try to 100% every game they play. Why though? In many games you will be stuck hours on end doing the most mundane tasks, where is the fun in that? I see games as entertainment, and not as a chore simulator. With any game I'm playing, the second I'm not enjoying myself, I quit and play something else instead. A good example for me would be finding all the Koroks in Zelda BotW/TotK. Hogwart's Legacy also has a ton of hidden collectibles. I love both games, but will never ever reach 100% because I can't be bothered to wander around aimlessly looking for objects (or using a guide). Are there gamers that really do enjoy this sort of thing, or will they happily endure boring gameplay just to get that platinum trophy fix? Rogue Legacy 2 Review (PlayStation 5)
Our Rogue Legacy 2 Review (PlayStation 5) Review is what you'd get if you mashed our Rogue Legacy Review with another one of those but a bit different together. Every time you die, your children will succeed you, and each child is unique. Your daughter might be a Colourblind Archer, and your son could be a Pacifistic Chef. Either way, one of them is getting conscripted.
Rogue Legacy 2 Review (PlayStation 5) Pros:

Rogue Legacy 2 Review (PlayStation 5) Cons: - Feels like the same set of knights/heirs keep coming up. - Loads of annoying enemies can fire and move through the scenery. - Feels like a reskinned version of the first game. - Difficult. - RNG makes or breaks the run. - Doesn't explain the whole lot. After 88 hours of gameplay, I finally did it! I 100% completed Hogwarts Legacy and acquired the Platinum Trophy for getting all the other trophies. This is one of my proudest video game achievements. It was tedious at some points for the collections, but I haven't had this much fun with a game in a very long time. It was a visually and musically stunning game that really let you create yourself in that universe and then lose yourself in that world.

How To Level Up Fast In Hogwarts Legacy & Level Cap
Hogwarts Legacy is a wise mix between RPG and open world action adventure game. A formula that we have seen many times with AAA games, but never applied in this way to the world of Harry Potter. In Hogwarts Legacy, leveling up is essential to be able to advance in the main story. In fact, the maximum level to which we can raise our character (for now) is almost the same as the final mission of the main story.
What is the Maximum Level of Hogwarts Legacy
The maximum level of Hogwarts Legacy, the “level cap”, is level 40. You cannot level up any more, at least in the current version of the game (we’ll see if they make DLC later). Knowing what level you have is a good way to know how are you doing in the story since the final mission of the game can only be played if you are level 37. After that, going up three more levels will not be very difficult for you, if you want to get one of the essential achievements / trophies for platinum.
How To Level Up Fast In Hogwarts Legacy & Level Cap Hogwarts Legacy Level Cap - Hogwarts Legacy Level Cap is 40.
How to Level Up Fast in Hogwarts Legacy
As in all RPGs, you’ll level up by completing main quests, side quests, or simply beating enemies. However, there are some ways to earn EXP in Hogwarts Legacy that are worth highlighting, the challenges. One of them is to complete the Field Guides, some “textbooks” which is the excuse that Avalanche Software has invented so that we (students starting at Hogwarts in fifth year) can quickly catch up on magic knowledge. There are other kinds of challenges, like Exploration (go getting all the collectibles) and Combat. Likewise, the battle arena (There are two in the game, and a third one exclusive to the deluxe version, where you can try the Unforgivable Curses without fear) will also allow you to quickly earn EXP. The room of requirement It’s not part of the main action, but it’s a subgame worth spending a few hours on, if only to complete the corresponding challenges within the Room of Requirement section. So my re-obsession with the metal gear franchise has decided to come back (no idea why but I’m not complaining) but I’m finally deciding to do the big thing I avoided the first time I played through the Legacy HD Collection and deciding I’m going to platinum each game on PS3. (Which if you’ve read the trophy guide online... they’re all INSANE.) Starting from MGS2 at some stage when I’m not feeling as exhausted and busy and oh boy I’m not ready but am at the same time.
#I think both MGS2 and 3 are already at 35%-ish from one playthrough#but this will be interesting#if I can beat mysterious figure on KH BBS and platinum that game I can platinum anything

TPL Playthrough Part 13??: Epilogue
The fact that I did not 100% complete Precursor Legacy when I played through and beat it back in October has been haunting me ever since. I was so close, only missing a Scout Fly and a few orbs, but at the time I was so exhausted on just making it through the game (especially the last two areas of Lava Tube and Gol and Maia's Citadel) that I couldn't be bothered to go all the way back through those areas once I reached the end.
But I was still thinking about it. Because I wanted that 100% completion and the platinum trophy, and I knew it was within my reach.
So yesterday I ended up loading up my save file and going back in to hunt down the remaining items...
and I got them all! I got 100% completion and earned my remaining trophies! Here is my save file as proof:
When I was awarded the platinum trophy, I had just collected the last orb I needed, which was one lone, singular orb that I had missed in the Citadel. The orb was on one of the floating tile paths that you have to strategically navigate by jumping between the colors very quickly, landing just long enough to execute another double jump to the next color before they all drop again. So I got the orb, got the trophy, and was trying not to immediately fall into the abyss and die when my PS4 automatically took a screenshot of the moment. Once I saved and exited, I went to look in the screenshot folder to see how it turned out. How, great Station of Play, do I get to commemorate my official completion of the first Jak and Daxter game? What screenshot have you blessed me with for my first platinum trophy-
w h e e z e
he's definitely in the middle of a jump and yet looks like he's just awkwardly standing in mid-air. amazing.
Point is, not only did I beat TPL for the first time, but I can also say I have now 100% completed it. No one can call me a fake fan or fake gamer ever again (not that anyone ever has, but you know, dramatic effect)

RJ's Platinum Collection #3: Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Achieved on 6/13/2022 at 5:28 PM
Jak & Daxter was one of the first games I got on my PlayStation 2, and I think I've played the game at least 50 times. So it made perfect sense for me to revisit this beloved childhood favorite for my third platinum!
Being so familiar with the game made it very easy to platinum this game, I will admit. I knew where all the orbs and scout flies were, and I knew how to get every single power cell, so my strategy for playing was to completely 100% every area of the game before moving on to the next one. Of course I started with the tutorial level, Geyser Rock, which only has one trophy.
1/39: Open Sez Me - Open the Precursor door.
Then I moved on to Sandover Village. Ah, such a classic hub world, and honestly I think it's my favorite of the three main hubs. I decided to hit the levels in the order of the Forbidden Jungle, Misty Island, and finally Sentinel Beach before heading over to the Fire Canyon. 100% each of these levels got me 12 trophies.
2/39: The Orbist - Collect 100 Precursor Orbs.
3/39: Yee Haw! - Herd the Yakows into their pen.
4/39: Hand Over Fish - Catch 200 pounds of fish.
5/39: Black Thumb - Defeat the Dark Eco Plant.
6/39: Shiny Happy Steeples - Connect the blue eco beams.
7/39: Pop Goes The Lurker - Destroy all the balloon lurkers.
8/39: Buzzin' - Collect 28 scout flies.
9/39: Tonight's Featured Event - Defeat the Lurker ambush in the arena.
10/39: Power Lunch - Collect 25 power cells.
11/39: Gimmee That! - Get the power cell from the pelican.
12/39: Eggs Over Hard - Push the Flut Flut egg off of the cliff.
13/39: Zoom! - Reach the end of Fire Canyon.
Now onto the second hub world, Rock Village. It's a fun area, but honestly the only level in this world I actually enjoy playing is the Precursor Basin. Which is why I did it first, then I did the Lost Precursor City (which weirdly enough has zero trophies associated with it) and Boggy Swamp before fighting Klaww and zooming across the Mountain Pass, getting me another 13 trophies.
14/39: Buzzed - Collect 49 scout flies.
15/39: Catch as Catch Can - Catch the flying Lurkers.
16/39: Green Thumb - Cure the Dark Eco infected plants.
17/39: Speedy Fast - Beat the record time in the Precursor Gorge.
18/39: Purple Pain - Navigate through all the Purple Precursor Rings.
19/39: I Got The Blues - Navigate through all the Blue Precursor Rings.
20/39: Power Chords - Collect 50 power cells.
21/39: The Orberator - Collect 1000 precursor orbs.
22/39: Twist and Shout - Defeat the Lurker ambush in the swamp.
23/39: Hungry? - Protect Farthy's snacks from the Lurker rats.
24/39: The Lead Zeppelin - Break all four tethers to the Zeppelin.
25/39: De-Klawwed - Defeat Klaww.
26/39: Zoom Zoom! - Reach the end of the Mountain Pass.
And now for the third and worst hub world, Volcanic Crater. Honestly, I despise this set of levels. I hate Snowy Mountain and I fucking loathe Spider Cave. But I forced myself to fully complete these levels, and then I got through the Lava Tube to get into the endgame.
27/39: It's Dark In Here - Survive the Lurker infested cave.
28/39: It's Cold Out Here - Stop the three Lurker glacier troops.
29/39: Kerblamm! - Destroy all of the Dark Eco crystals.
30/39: Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! - Reach the end of the Lava Tube.
Now for the final level, Gol and Maia's Citadel. This level is pretty damn challenging and fun, as it's got the most intense parkour in the whole game. To complete this level you need to free all four Sages, and I decided to go in the order that made the most sense considering the names of these trophies:
31/39: Set Me Free! - Free the Red Sage.
32/39: No, Set Me Free! - Free the Blue Sage.
33/39: Hey, Set Me Free! - Free the Yellow Sage.
Once these three were saved, I made my way to the top of the final platforming section of the game, which also got me all the remaining scout flies, Precursor orbs, and power cells in the game and three more trophies.
34/39: Totally Buzzed Out! - Collect 112 scout flies.
35/39: The Super Orberator - Collect 2000 Precursor orbs.
36/39: Maximum Power! - Collect 101 power cells.
Then I freed the Green Sage and got that trophy.
37/39: Set Me Free Already! - Free the Green Sage.
And then it was time for the not easy at all boss fight against Gol and Maia in their giant robot thing. I will admit, this boss fight always challenged me as a kid, and it took me a good hour of constantly dying before I finally beat them, got the last trophy, and then got the Platinum.
38/39: Battle Hardened - Defeat Gol and Maia.
39/39: Top Of The Heap - Collected everything in the game and got all of the trophies!
This game is a classic. It's fun, hilarious, and an amazing platinum that I recommend for any PS player's trophy list.
Rating: 10/10

My 30 Platinum Challenge Failed but Still Got 7
I had decided to make September a 30 day challenge month. This year I decided to try for the 30 Platinum Trophy challenge. Which is an attempt to unlock 30 platinum trophies within 30 days. And I failed it without even getting one third of the way through.
My guess is it's mostly the games I chose to play for this challenge combined with my ever busy schedule and lack of free time or energy.
At the start of the challenge I popped in Jak and Daxter the Precursor Legacy. A simple platform game developed by Naughty Dog (who you may know as those guys that made the mushroom zombie game). It took me about a week to 100% it and it was then and there I realized I should pick smaller games that take less hours to 100%.
So my next game was Daxter which I breezed through within three days. I think it was a nice preview into Jak 2, which I started but decided to shelf because Naughty Dog is well known to make challenging games. I guess as part of the "no fun allowed" that one guy said was policy in the company or something. Idk, it's been a long while since I heard the actual quote and I got tired of Jak games so I moved on.
Around the time those two games were done, Sly Cooper dropped a PS4 version so of course I had to complete that game. It wasn't as fast as the original PS3 Collection version but that's because the Collection version gave trophies for completing levels instead of offering unique methods like how the PS4 version went.
After that it was Miles Morales to compliment the Spider-man trophy. I thought Miles was going to be a relatively short game based on what I heard about it but I spent far too much time on this game. Particularly because of the New Game Plus trophy. That proved to be a pain in the ass with how little free time I had for the game to begin with.
Although, it was comical how often Miles Morales would glitch and bug out every now and then. One minute several icons stayed on screen even during cutscenes and later the audio for a character would shut off completely. I was legit concerned I wouldn't get the platinum because of the frequent bugs but the trophy popped so all was good.
I then set out on Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. A childhood classic I played on the Gamecube now purchased as a digital copy via giftcard. Lots of hoops for this one.
Another platformer that wasn't too much of a pain and went by alright. Hell of a long credits though.
There was a sudden urge to play Infamous after that so I nabbed First Light and took that platinum within a few days. Fetch was a somewhat interesting character to play but the bright flashes from the powers disagreed with my eyes.
Which made playing the original with Cole an odd choice. You'd think I'd want something less sparky, easy on the eyes, and didn't take all my time to complete.
Well, I was at the end of the month at this point and already decided I failed the challenge. So may as well play a game I really enjoyed. I remember getting the platinum before but since I had to get a new PS3 I had to redo the platinum all over again. Fun.
For the most part it wasn't that bad. Majority of the trophies were morality based so doing two playthroughs unlocked basically half the trophies. The hardcore trophy had me set the game to hard difficulty which was as easy as well easy with the evil Cole playthrough. Evil Cole did massive damage which made breezing through hard mode so much better especially since I didn't have to be concerned about bystanders.
The biggest pain in Infamous was the blast shards. OMG, the blast shards were impossible to find! I ran across all three islands multiple times, zig-zag, horizontal, vertical, and in literal circles in and outward spirals just to find the 30 I had left. It's always most difficult to find the small numbers since they're always in the last place you look. Mainly because there's nowhere else to look after that. Why is that a saying in the first place? Seems like a logical conclusion stating the obvious like an asshole.
Annoying collectables aside...
That was seven platinum trophies I earned in this 30 day challenge that I failed. I had a lot of fun with it and would like to do another 30 day challenge like this next year. However, I think I would pick easier games to play so I'm not stressing on time for this.

Michael Jackson - Beat It (Official Video) December 16, 2015 – 5 Years Ago Today: The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the Estate of Michael Jackson, Epic Records and Legacy Recordings announced that Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" was the first album in RIAA Gold & Platinum Program history to be certified 30X multi-Platinum for U.S. sales, continuing The King of Pop’s reign as the biggest selling artist of all time with worldwide sales of over 150 million for "Thriller" and 1 billion overall. “RIAA has awarded Gold & Platinum records on behalf of the music business for nearly 60 years, but this is the first time an artist has crossed the 30X multi-Platinum plateau,” said Cary Sherman, Chairman & CEO, RIAA. “We are honored to celebrate the unique status of "Thriller" in Gold & Platinum history. What an exceptional achievement and testament to "Thriller"’s enduring spot in our hearts and musical history.”Michael Jackson’s masterpiece "Thriller," produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson, won a record setting 8 Grammys, more than any album ever, and has been earning awards and setting new standards of success since its release on November 30, 1982. "Thriller" spent nearly 2 ½ years on the Billboard album chart and holds a modern day record of 37 weeks at No. 1. It was the first album in history to spend each of its first 80 weeks in the album chart’s Top 10, a feat only reached by one other album in the more than three decades since. During its 112th week on Billboard’s album chart, it became the first title ever to be certified RIAA 20X multi-Platinum (October 30, 1984). Worldwide, "Thriller" went to #1 in practically every country in the world, including the UK, France, Italy, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, South Africa, Spain, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada and apartheid South Africa. The album was acclaimed for its range and depth. Rolling Stone referred to the album as a “watershed” moment for Michael, and Newsweek prophetically wrote that “Michael’s voice haunts these songs, gives them heart…It is what will make this music endure.” Seven tracks from the album became Top 10 singles, and two, “Beat It” and “Billie Jean,” went No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. All nine assumed a permanent place in hearts and memories of everyone on the planet.More than just an album, "Thriller" has remained a global cultural multi-media phenomenon for both the 20th and the 21st centuries, smashing musical barriers and changing the frontiers of pop forever. The music on "Thriller" is so dynamic and singular that it defied any definition of rock, pop or soul that had gone before. “Beat It” was a new kind of pop-rock hybrid and demolished the longstanding segregation between black and white music with Eddie Van Halen’s incendiary guitar. On “The Girl Is Mine,” a black man and a white man bantered about the same girl. On the same album were songs like the African-rooted “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and the rhythm and blues-based “Billie Jean.” No one had ever released an album with such a vast range of material.“Perhaps Michael’s most significant racial trailblazing came with music videos,” wrote Joe Vogel in Man in the Music. Fascinated with the fledgling art form, Michael wanted to tell a story and entertain on a grand scale. Despite the luscious cinematography, dramatic narrative and spectacular choreography of “Billie Jean,” a fledgling MTV, which was programming white rock artists almost exclusively, refused to play it. Epic persisted. Once the wall came crashing down, MTV’s ratings soared and a door was opened for a generation of African American artists. “He was MTV’s Jackie Robinson,” said cultural critic Touré. Next, came the unforgettable short film for “Beat It,” which featured Michael bringing two gangs together through the power of music and dance. And then there was “Thriller.” Premiered at the AVCO Theatre in Los Angeles in 1983, it sold out every night for three weeks. No other video before or since has generated such excitement and has such a hold on our attention, such that more than 30 years later we all share it as a collective memory and it remains the only music video to be inducted into the elite National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. The importance of "Thriller" was recognized by Michael Jackson’s industry peers at the Grammys. "Thriller" was nominated in a record-breaking 12 categories, and won a history-making eight, which stands as the record for most Grammy Awards to be won by any album. Seven of those Grammys that year were awarded to Michael for: Album of the Year; Record of the Year ("Beat It"); Best Male Pop Vocal Performance ("Thriller"); Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical (Thriller); Best Male Rock Vocal Performance ("Beat It"); Best Male R&B Vocal Performance ("Billie Jean"); Best R&B Song ("Billie Jean"). (Michael's eighth Grammy that year was in the Best Recording for Children - Single or Album, Musical or Spoken category for "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial"). That same year, Michael Jackson took home eight American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. The following year, "The Making of Michael Jackson's Thriller" took home the Best Video Album trophy at the 27th Annual Grammy Awards.During his extraordinary career, Michael Jackson sold more than a billion records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles and became one of a handful of artists to be inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and “Thriller” as the World's Top-Selling Album of All Time. His artistry, choreography and music continue to inspire generations of pop, soul, R&B and hip-hop artists and fans."It is crystal clear that Michael Jackson is simply the greatest and biggest artist of all time," says LA Reid, Chairman & CEO of Epic Records. "Not only are his charts hits and sales stats staggering, but his pure musicality was other-worldly. "Thriller" was groundbreaking and electrifying...it was perfection. I am extremely proud that Michael is the heart and soul of Epic Records and he will forever remain the one-and-only King of Pop."“150 million albums and counting. There has never been a phenomenon like Thriller,” says John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson. “Michael opened the floodgates of his creativity, explored emotional depths and pushed the boundaries of sonic innovation. In the process, he breached destructive barriers in the music industry and literally united the world through his music: there isn’t a place on this planet that hasn’t been exhilarated by the music of Michael Jackson. Thirty-six years after its release, "Thriller" continues to be a revelation.” Noteworthy: Since this notice 5 years ago, "Thriller" has now sold in excess of three million additional copies and is officially certified 33X Platinum as of this date. Also, the same day which "Thriller" was certified 33X Platinum, the Eagles with their compilation album, "Their Greatest Hits/1971-1975" surpassed Jackson's studio album in the U.S. when their Greatest Hits album was certified 38X Platinum.
