Afferma Alien Kills.

Angry Angles self-titled red 12″ (2016)
In 2006 James Lee Lindsay / Jay Reatard along with his ex-girlfriend Alix Brown of The Lids created Shattered Records, releasing records for themselves plus other greats Jack Oblivian, Tokyo Electron, The Reatards, Carbonas, and many more. The relationship betwene them also birthed Angry Angles with sometimes drummers Paul Artigues of Die Rotzz and Ryan Rousseau of Tokyo Electron, all aleady touring right after their first e.p. Two years ago, Goner Records compiled all Angry Angles ever offered on one record shown here. 17 tracks of exhaustive Memphis / Atlanta-fueled garage-rock that never quits. Ever. Re-visiting this, we’re considering airing “In My Room” and “Memphis Creep” on our future garage and lo-fi volumes on Omega WUSB. We can’t wait. Having too much Reatard and Alix is never a bad thing in our book, and it’s a thick one.
Some vinyl copies were pressed in red translucent vinyl, and all buyers were also invited to download their live Autunn 2006 show at Gonerfest 3.

Adrino - 1 - Mixtape
(A/N): Alright, it’s the 21st where I am but I’m pretty sure it’s still the 20th in most countries so I’m still on track! This is a multi-part story based off the prompts by @miraculous-events for #AdrinoWeek .
---
The perfect present, trashed. Nino looked at the broken mixtape in front of him, it was an actual cassette tape too. Adrien’s birthday gift was ruined. Broken under the heavy weight of Chloe’s opulent gift bag.
“Chloe! How could you do such a thing!” Alya protested at Chloe
“Oh, honestly, Césaire. I just needed a place to put down my stuff. Not my fault I couldn’t see such a small gift. Honestly Lahiffe, it’s probably for the best. It’ll be less embarrassing for you to give Adrien nothing than that Betamax thing.”
Tears started to well in Nino’s eyes, he stood up and rushed out of the classroom, ignoring Alya’s protests behind him. Running down the stairs, he ran into the bathroom, shakily opening a stall, then falling to the ground.
Tears started to spill out, he wanted so hard to prove that he could be thoughtful and caring to Adrien. To prove that he knew his best friend, the closest friend he ever had. Maybe even something mo-
“Hello Remix, I am Hawkmoth-”
“No!”
Nino’s hands clenched around his now purple headphones. The purple mask hovered over his teary eyes.
“I am NOT going to let myself be used by a man with no fashion sense!”
“But Nino, how else will you save his present? His birthday is today, Adrien will be in class any minute.”
“I’ll just tell him what happened!”
“Imagine how awkward that’s going to turn out? His friend of a year, telling him that he both doesn’t have a present and that it’s Chloe’s fault? You know, Chloe, his best friend since birth? It’ll create such a sour note on what is meant to be a sweet day.”
Nino’s tears started to fall even faster, his hand gripping his headphones even tighter.
“If you accept my little gift, you can make things right. You can save the mixtape and take that brat Chloe to task.”
Nino’s hands shook. He slowly took his headphones off his head.
“How would your powers even help; the mixtape is broken?”
“Ah, there’s the fun part! You will be able to go back to important moments in people’s lives and change their personal futures. Chloe has always been such a brat, but what if she never got the bee miraculous hmm? You can even use your powers on objects too! So, accept my gifts and save your mixtape. How else will you confess your love to Adrien?”
Nino’s fist clenched and his eyes turned narrow.
“I accept.”
---
The class was in an uproar. Alix slammed her fist down on Chloe’s table.
“This is all your fault, Chloe! Honestly, have you EVER considered anyone but yourself.”
“Oh cram it Kub-”
“No, YOU cram it, you uptight megalomaniac!”
“Guys? What’s going on?”
The class froze and turned to see Adrien at the classroom door, staring awkwardly at the chaos he was witnessing. They realised that saying what happened would probably ruin the mood, but it wasn’t like they couldn’t NOT say anything. After glancing around between all of them, Nathaniel stepped forward, probably the only one with enough calmness and tact to say this.
“Chloe ruined Nino’s present to you and sent him crying off to the bathroom!”
Or Rose could blurt it out, that worked too.
Adrien walked in and looked over at the broken mixtape
“OH! I wouldn’t worry about Nino, guys!”
Everyone looked at the entrance. He was wearing a black helmet, covering his face. He had a black leather bodysuit with yellow stripes around his wrists, upper arms, neckline, torso and ankles. He wore yellow gloves and boots.
“Nino?” Adrien questioned
“There isn’t a Nino anymore. I’m Remix! And I swear I’ll fix everything!”
Remix walked over to the broken tape and tapped it with his gloves. Both Nino and the broken tape flashed yellow before disappearing.
---
Chloe was walking into the room, carrying a heavy bag. Suddenly, Remix flashed into the room, causing Chloe to drop the bag.
“Ahh! Akuma!”
Remix walked over to Nino’s desk, and picked up the still intact tape, before flashing yellow and disappearing.
---
Adrien had about five seconds to process what had just happened. Then he shielded his eyes from yet another yellow flash, as Remix returned to the present, cassette tape in hand.
“Nino! Stop this! This isn’t you!”
“Aww, my dude! Don’t focus on me! It’s YOUR birthday, remember! I even fixed your present!”
Remix looked around and saw Chloe standing there frozen. He placed the cassette in Adrien’s shaking hands.
“When I get back, I promise we’ll listen to it together, bro! I just have to do one TEENY thing first.”
“Nino, don’t! Ladybug and Chat Noir will have to fight you! Please stop…for me?” Adrien said softly, looking at Remix’s dark visor.
“Sorry, bro! I just can’t let her get away with it! She needs to be taught a lesson.”
Remix walked over to Chloe, now backed up against the wall, and he pressed a yellow hand against her. They both disappeared with a yellow flash.

Rewatching Béfana
It’s late night again let’s goooooooo
Poor Marinette doing chores on her birthday
TIKKI IS SO CUTE I LOVE HER
And I love her magic vomit gift I want like 7
Oooh whomst is This
Marinette’s adorable too good grief no wonder her friends would literally die for her (oops I’m getting ahead of myself)
I love all of this but OMG SHE REMEMBERED NATH THIS TIME!! (backstory: in an old webisode she mentioned inviting all her classmates to her bday party but didn’t mention tomato boy at all) - also the fact that Alix is so frickin tiny even in this thought spot oh my god
“We should take Hawk Moth’s miraculous...”
“...and push it somewhere else!”
Poor Juleka 1. has only like three things in her locker, and 2. is really terrible at acting not-suspicious
Nino’s about to drop the hottest mixtape of the year
This is ADORABLE but omg don’t do that to his headphones, I’ve broken like 5 pairs of headphones in the past few years that didn’t even belong to me and so I’m very overprotective of them now
This lil thought bubble has Juleka in it too!! Omg this episode is way cuter than I remembered
Adrien is so unbelievably bad at being not-suspicious HOW HAS NO ONE DISCOVERED HIS SUPERHERO IDENTITY YET
This show out of context is the most ridiculous thing I mean how are you meant to explain this random screencap to anyone
And the #1 prize of “worst at being not-suspicious” goes to Marinette’s parents, who chuck several cakes in the bin over the course of the episode within plain sight
I’m still shook at just how COOL Gina Dupain is (and apparently she’s a Pink Floyd fan or whatever the equivalent is in this universe)
Akjfhskjdhfkj she hid the present in her motorbike helmet, and according to her watch it looks like it might just be past noon? So she hangs out with Marinette for roughly 4 hours
This was also my reaction to finding out it’s Marinette’s fourteenth birthday because WHAT DO YOU MEAN A TINY 13 YEAR OLD WAS RUNNING AROUND SAVING AN ENTIRE CITY FROM SUPERVILLIANS THIS ENTIRE TIME, FU WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THE MIRACULOUSES TO KIDS SO YOUNG, AND WHY IS MARINETTE IN TROISIÈME IF SHE’S SO MUCH YOUNGER THAN HER CLASSMATES okay, okay I’m done
So Gina’s bike is a “Misurati”, apparently
She’s so adorable omg look at her
Me too Marinette don’t worry
Look at these new kid designs and recolours of Manon and Ella/Etta... at least the kids I adopted way back in Copycat are still there too
I see Alya’s dad in the background of the zoo, apparently he’s in charge of elephants as well as panthers so Kim better not challenge this one this time
These dorks in the background are such a mess I love them
This bridge is seriously so cursed in this show, so much bad stuff happens here - though at least Gina got to flirt with the ice cream guy
MARINETTE’S PARENTS ARE SO GREAT THEY DO THE FIST BUMP AND EVERYTHING OMG
This screencap is blessed on so many levels but what the HELL is up with Kim’s hair
The fact that Nino and Max don’t disappear here is killing me akshfksjdhgkjsfh
Mylène gave her a fashion book!! This is just soooo sweet I love this class
Tfw when you turn your son into coal but his wife’s cool so you turn her into an angel
Juleka and Rose highkey ship Adrinette, they know what’s up, just look
NOOOOOOOOOO NOT MYLÈNE
Kawaii ~
These kids are actual WARRIORS omg they got so so hardcore in season 2 and I love them so much
HEROES WITH OR WITHOUT MIRACULOUSES
I love that Rose is so sweet that even (some) akuma villains won’t kill her
Oh and Nath’s brandishing a stick btw
These kids are cooler than I will ever be and I’m okay with that
Okay but I just have one question... where was Nino during all of this? Did the poor guy go to the loo or something and come back to see all his friends turned into coal? I mean that’s basically a regular day in Paris for these kids but still
Awwwwwww
Also it’s nice that we’re getting new areas of the Eiffel Tower this season (maybe Lila’s still stuck up there somewhere)
Justin Extra is a LITTERBUG
Jean Duparc is an angel though, and I’m pretty sure that baby he’s helping is August from Gigantitan (but with a different mum apparently)
Béfana making Hawk Moth say “please” is still up there as one of the coolest things any akuma villain has done in the show, ever
Marinette’s so bad at being not-suspicious too, I swear everyone in Paris is just ridiculously oblivious to everything
The poor Eiffel Tower can just never catch a break??
This is a pretty creepy way to go actually, imagine watching your grandma turn herself into coal?? And also there are never any tourists at the Eiffel Tower, it’s like they just Know not to go there anymore
You: animation errors
me, an intellectual: Alix is so powerful she can change her hair colour at will
Everything about this is so cute on so many levels!!!
Marinette’s family ship Adrinette too lol
#i might do another one of these before going to sleep hehe#miraculous ladybug#random stuff#rewatching ml#next up: riposte

nathanael headcanons bc why not?
nathanael: there are people who throw out their copic markers instead of buying refills for them. how tragic is that?
he has a really hard time following in class when teachers talk too quickly or when the material is too heavy. so sometimes he’ll just sketch or do other homework in the meantime and ask ivan for notes after class is over.
ivan’s happy to help out. it’s worth it for the album covers that nathanael draws for the mixtapes ivan gives to mylène.
nino and nathanael used to sit in the back of the class together because they randomly bonded over this french rock band, magma, that they both love
there was one day where nathanael came sprinting into class with magma’s new album lifted over his head and nino literally jumped out of his chair and started screaming because "holy crap i forgot they were dropping an album can we please listen to it during lunch?”
adrien commissions ladybug fanart from nathanael in exchange for his physics tutoring services because mme. mendeleiev is really getting on his case about the quiz he didn’t do that well on
when nathanael gets a near perfect score on his latest physics test, he surprises adrien with a full-body, digitally colored print of ladybug and chat noir that adrien currently has framed in his room.
alya and nathanael enter into a pact with each other where they save up small bits and pieces of their allowance at a time so that they can split the cost on new issues of their favorite comic book series
nathanael knew juleka and rose were dating before anyone else in class did and he’s super proud of that. the minute they announced it to the class, chloe cursed in the middle of homeroom and handed fourty euros to nathanael.
marinette and nathanael are mutuals on tumblr and they’re always showing each other memes in between classes and tagging each other in posts. but they’re jerks about it because they won’t tell anyone in class what their urls are.
kim challenges nathanael one day, saying that he can jog ten laps around the block quicker than nathanael can sketch him running and nathanael is totally up for that bet.
it turns into a huge deal. sabrina spreads the event on facebook, alix spends all week training kim, and max oversees the event as the official judge and time keeper.
when nathanael wins, kim bows to him whenever he sees him in the halls for close to two weeks.
#miraculous ladybug#ml#nathanael kurtzberg#headcanons#aka nathanael and his dynamics with the whole class bc i think it's cute ok#miraculous ladybug headcanons

My Favorite Album #203 - Veronica Milson (triple j) on the Shins ‘Wincing the Night Away’ (2007)
Comic, actor and triple j host Veronica Milsom is a rare guest who knew exactly what her favorite album is straight away - the seminal decade young record from The Shins 'Wincing the Night Away'.
We talk about how Veronica's older brother's mixtapes introduced her to the Shins, how frontman's James Mercer's insomnia fuelled the creation of the album, the intimacy of his singing, the Zach Braff driven high expectations and backlash toward this album, and whether any contemporary music has hit her as hard as this record did ten years ago.
Plus, we discuss Veronica's legendary "thing" for Bernard Fanning, how the events of your life change how you perceive time, why her perspective as a radio DJ has made her hate certain songs, her own self-induced bout with insomnia in Perth and the questions she feels guilty for asking bands during interviews.

PFlames 1978 Mixtape Digging through crates of vinyl records is a soul satisfying technique, beloved by music connoisseurs everywhere. The atmospheric pressure of the record store generates sensations beyond a spiritual reawakening. Thumbing in records that are iconic and forgotten in space and time. The composition of an authentic record is timeless. Each wavelength generated pays homage to those aphrodisiacal 45’s or ghetto blasting cassette decks. Legends live forever in the electric relaxation that flows from stereo surround to studio headphones. Music is a passage to the depths of the soul; linking the artist to a much needed mystical frequency. This is Soul, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Hip-hop. It’s an amalgamation of innovation and inspiration. This is music. This is life. This is PFlames, 1978. PFlames is without a doubt a gifted emcee, with an unmatched Musical IQ. He manages to spit poignant poetic lyrics aside intense socially conscious viewpoints. 1978 was the birth of a lyrical mastermind, hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, PFlames puts his lifetime and philosophies on the table, and feeds the rap culture. This double album, shows influences from rebirth to circa the Golden Era of hip hop. As an emcee PFlames is in a category with Bronx native, KRS-One or even Public Enemy’s, Chuck D. He refreshes the listener with memorable bars from start to finish. “Ambition” is a rasta-packed rendition of declarative rhymes. He pushes the elevating of the people, accompanied by the crooning of Damien, a multi-faceted singer, who blazes up the track Bob Marley style. In “How I Got Over,” a Curtis Mayfield, SuperFly 70’s vibe dominates the track. A rhythmic heavy-hitting flow delivers a verse from Cloud Nine. These “Mackadocious” bars pay homage to Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and stacks of powerful artist. The title track, “1978” registers as “Certified Dope” with a killer hook. As the LP begins to unite, the merging of pop and rap culture give this featured album its identity. The interludes are reminiscent of Biggie Smalls classic, Ready To Die, using answering machine messages to alert the artist. “Kush & Patron” is a feel-good track with elements of Bad vs. Evil meets Southern rap between the duo of emcees, PFlames and Big Mista. The surreal experience of boom bap rap, touch down in track, ‘My Way.” “Like This” samples, female Miami rapper, Khia’s hit “My Neck, My Back.” and “Loverman.” In SuperFlyShit featuring Alix Sledge, PFlames initiates Superhero cadences with relaxed rhymes. Both tracks, “Cadillac Musik” and Delorean Musik” are notalagic. “Sneaker Pimp 2” is an ode to fresh sneakers. Fresh soles assisting kicks stories and similes. All cemented on the Tribe reference, “Make My Cypher Complete.” “Hold Me Down,” a reflective track bout the life and times of PFlames. It features Neo-Soul artist Keiria Marsha who adds another melodic rendition to the album. “Thirty-6” duplicates a James Brown, Funky Child atmosphere. “The Divine” incorporates the Divine Principle, in a battle with death. “We Were Kings,” featuring R.O.C.K. is a throwback record of past struggles, depicting fresh laced Adidas, Kangols, Iconic 80’s principles. He aligns his growth with RUN DMC the “Kings of Rap”. The Billy Preston classic, “I Wrote A Simple Song, “ was sampled for the prophetic verses of the “Simple Song” track. Towards the end of the double LP, the tracks “Nothing” and “Redemption” brings the listener full circle. Overall “If it doesn’t touch my soul I can’t listen to it.” For a hip-hop head this is spiritual healing. A seasoned veteran, with mature punchlines, and undeniable influences; PFlames 1978 is an underground goldmine, for both artist and fans alike. Download at www.pflames.bandcamp.com. J.
