that said however, the game did not give me a dedicated "hug alisaie whenever i want" button, so i regret to say 0/10

@brightblessed said: “burning up? i’m freezing.” to ali
‘ that’s how it works when you’re getting ill. honestly - ‘ regardless of the exasperation marring her tone, concern painted alisaie’s expression all the same. the biting cold of garlemald could grasp anyone within it’s discomfort, and it seemed their dear friend was no exception. alisaie removed her hand from roi’s forehead, eyes softening. she quickly retrieved another blanket to wrap around him. ‘ i’m going to find you something hot to eat. stay here, please. ‘

It's easy to call Yhah Garanjy a brat.
She's hyperactive, impatient, obnoxious, and self-interested.
But she's also a teenage girl who had her entire life as she knew it uprooted and changed because some woman decided to untemper her father.
After returning home from Ultima Thule, Qhota finally made the decision to rescue her father and untemper him, and everyone else in the Amalj'aa camp with him. It wasn't perfect, and it was impulsive, but she got to bring him back to Gridania.
That left Yhah—young, illiterate, hot-headed—an Ul'dahn refugee. And what does she do? Demand to know where her da went. After all, it's pretty easy to say that Okhi'li Garanjy left in the care of Qhota Nelhah and her merry band of Warriors of Light. So she took that information and walked herself down to Urha Nelhah's estate in Gridania.
She didn't resent the Nelhah family for taking her father away. She knew he had other family. But she also wasn't just going to let them take him from her; that's her da. And Urha, being the adopter of the masses she is, declared that any daughter of Okhi'li's was family to her, and the rest is more or less history.
It's easy to call Yhah Garanjy a brat. She doesn't follow the predominant religion of Eorzea. She worships Ifrit, even after becoming untempered. She's loud and rude and a bit of a hedonist.
But she loves to help people. She begged Qhota to teach her how, and Qhota taught her astromancy, which she absorbed like a sponge.
She's a quick learner when it's something she's interested in, and she's interested in helping people and working with her hands. So Qhota taught her to read and write, and Yhah went around joining every crafting guild that would have her. The smiths and the culinarians first, to prove that the Lord of the Inferno's fire didn't always rage hot enough to burn.
Fire warms. Fire cooks meals. The Ifrit Yhah worships is something like a grandfather in her eyes, and she wants to show that to people. She won't summon an eikon, she's not a fool, but if the Eorzeans can worship their Twelve (and even have a goddess of fire in Azeyma!) then she can practice her religion and show them how wrong they are about it.
By the time the party meets Wuk Lamat and decides to head to Tural, Yhah's a full-fledged astrologian, and Auntie Zoyoyo has retired from the adventuring game.
It's easy to call Yhah Garanjy a brat, but she's got the shoes of the Warriors of Light to fill. She's an impetuous thing who prefers action to talk, and has little patience, but she's a teenager yet. She's got time to grow. After all, "a great many stupid and reckless things" isn't enough to condemn Alisaie.
Yhah is many things. A helper. An artisan. A lover. A friend. The team's baby sister.
So she's allowed grace to be annoying and impatient. Either she'll grow out of it, or everyone else will grow to love her for it.

How do you think your WOL feels about the other Scions?
Under a readmore because it got kind of long!
Thancred: I had an Ul'dah start, so he was her first connection with the Scions! Very proud of how he's grown as a person in the time she's known him. Teases him mercilessly in the most affectionate of ways. Probably hooked up with him at some point early on; they don't talk about it these days, but mostly because that's not where their relationship landed
Y'shtola: Absolute greatest respect and a little bit of fear. She trusts Y'shtola's words and plans pretty much more than almost anyone else she knows--UNLESS Flow is involved. Please stop solving problems with Flow we're running out of ways to pull you back out. Fully supports all of her high level mage nonsense and wants to help with her dimension-crossing thing any way she can.
Urianger: At this point, if Urianger starts doing something that superficially looks like plotting against the group, she takes it on faith that he knows what he's doing and has a good reason. When he eventually confesses his duplicity and cries for forgiveness, she wraps him in the tightest hug and goes "it's fine, look, don't worry about it. I know you." Will listen to him endlessly even if she only grasps a fraction of what he's talking about
Alphinaud: Baby brother. Incandescently proud of him and the capable young man he's become in the time she's known him. When he called her his family in Eulmore she got a little misty-eyed; considers him and Alisaie basically actual family. The only person whose plans she trusts above Y'shtola's. He's going to be a great leader someday, and she hopes she can be helpful when that day comes.
Alisaie: Baby sister. If Alphinaud is the twin she loves but doesn't understand, Alisaie is the one she understands in every mote of her being; Alisaie is basically her but younger. Do NOT leave the two of them alone to carry out some part of a plan, they enable each other's most reckless and ill-advised impulses and will yes-and each other until only fire lives here now. (Probably my favorite of the scions)
G'raha: Her spouse's boyfriend. Not her type as a lover; something closer than a friend; ranks just below the twins on the list of "people I would kill and/or die for". Raha is an absolutely essential pillar of her life at this point so please stop trying to martyr yourself godsdammit. If ever she has a dilemma she can't see a way out of, or if she wants a second opinion of something, he's her first thought
Estinien: Understands him as a brother-in-arms and lets him dictate the terms of their friendship (so they're not super close, but warm enough when their paths cross). Keeps tabs on him for Aymeric's peace of mind as best she can. There's few people she trusts more to have her back in a fight. Makes a point to treat him to a meal anytime they see each other because she still fully does not trust him with money and wants to be sure he's eating
Krile: Worked closely with her for an extended period of time on the displaced Isle of Val and got to know her in that time. Krile is probably the scion that knows the most of her secret fears and uncertainties; my character feels it's only fair after Krile trusted her with her own survivor's guilt over being the only one to escape the isle. Despite Krile being younger than her, considers her a bit of a "responsible adult" and can be reined in by her
Tataru: Bestie!! Eternally indebted to her as the beating heart of the Scions. Would move mountains for her. Probably relies on her quite a bit as someone who's also started selling her crafts (mostly soup lately) and sells out of her storefronts. Every aimless adventurer needs a pragmatic tether to the real world, and Tataru is hers. They get together every so often to gossip and catch up, when my character makes it back to town

Er. Well. Here're my pets:
Sully (d.2023.02): The original gremlin-child, a cavalier x rescue who came back with me from South Korea and appreciated the company of cats far more than she did other dogs. She had the worst health, as is kind of expected from king charles cavalier spaniels. Sully loved Alisaie-cat, and it was mutual.
Alisaie (3-y.o. Ragdoll; Seal Lynx Bicolour): Alisaie, or Nyalisaie, is from LaCatDolls Ragdolls in Kingston, ON. She was initially offered to me as a cat who could be happy as a solo kitten: she's very independent, opinionated, but sometimes lacks a bit of confidence in dealing with her brothers' idiocy. She also Will Not Smack A Baby, which caused Pipin to think he can get away with anything. This seems to be a thing in her maternal line - her mother preferred to stay with her litters far past the usual time, and so does her full sister who's still with LaCatDolls, though she just had her final litter last year.
Alphinaud (d.July 2023): Alphinyan was Nyalisaie's half-brother. He was a cream bicolour ragdoll, which means he was Very Orange and rarely had possession of the braincell, but he was the sweetest boy. He passed of heart failure last July; his breeder and I did all our due diligence with genetic testing and everything, but there're only (last I checked) four genes on two sites that are identified and testable, and both his parents were double-negative as carriers, tested multiple times, and none of the others have shown signs of it. For reference, there are hundreds of identified genes on many sites in humans that have been ID'd.
Anyway, Alphinyan was outgoing, happy, and utterly gorgeous. I miss him a lot.
Leo (3-y.o. Ragdoll, Blue bicolour): Leo is Alphinyan's littermate who stayed at the cattery as a potential sire and eventual show cat. When Alphinyan passed and I was ready for a cat, the breeder offered me Leo, because he's EXTREMELY similar to his brother: sweet, gorgeous, and kind of an idiot. He's a classic Ragdoll: he loves everyone and was VERY DETERMINED to aggressively groom my face within two hours of arriving at my house. He is, however, kind of immature and a bit of a brat sometimes, and Nyalisaie has only just recently started to smack him when he's annoying her. He and Pip are Best Buddies.
There is not a braincell in that head, just love and floof:
Pipin Tarupin (1-y.o. Papillon, tricolour): Pip is a pretty typical Papillon boy: full of sass, too big for his britches, and extremely determined to be within 6' of me at all times. He is, however, incredibly good: he comes to the office with me and behaves himself very well, and is very good at seeking out people who're having a bad day and clowning around to make their day better, or just hopping into a lap and cuddling. He adores Leo and desperately wants to play with Nyalisaie ALL THE TIME.
Someday, I want a Maine Coon, but alas, it hasn't worked out yet.

FFXIV Write Entry #11: The Inaction of Hope
Prompt: once bitten, twice shy || Master Post || On AO3
A/N: Spoilers for the end of Endwalker. Another follow up to "The Long Road Home" from last year's FFXIV Write.
--
Dancing Heron watched Alisaie move around the room with a mixture of wry fondness and quiet understanding. It was her second day fully conscious and the first time she had seen Alisaie, and the elezen maid moved around Heron’s hospital room with a jerky deliberation that spoke of her barely contained temper. Alisaie fluffed pillows on the chairs the Scions and their family had been using to keep vigil, folded the blanket on the cot, opened the window to let in a breeze, stomped across the room to rearrange the bottles of potions on the side table by size and color.
She said nothing, and looked at Heron not once.
Heron neither rolled her eyes nor sighed in exasperation at being ignored, as she suspected Alisaie wanted her to do. Alisaie wanted to be angry, wanted an excuse to yell and rage, wanted to vent her fear for her Warrior of Light sisters, and Heron most especially.
Finally, as Alisaie made to cross the room once more to fidget with something else rather than address the marid in the room, Heron managed to catch her baby sister’s eye. She raised an eyebrow, and her arm, and shuffled to the side to make room in the bed.
Abruptly, all the fight went out of Alisaie, slumping so suddenly that she looked like a marionette with its strings cut. She bowed her head, her bangs shadowing her eyes, and the next breath she took was deep and shaky.
But she turned abruptly on her heel, took the three steps to the side of Heron’s bed, and pulled herself up to crawl up and bury herself in Heron’s side, draping one arm very carefully over Heron’s heavily bandaged abdomen. Heron draped her arm around the elezen, tucking her close, and dropped her cheek to rest atop Alisaie’s hair.
Huh. Usually when she did this, her head was nearly at a ninety-degree angle because of their height difference. But her neck didn’t crick quite so far today; maybe Alisaie was finally getting close to that growth spurt of hers. Gods only knew she was nearly overdue for it at closing in rapidly on twenty-two. Or was it twenty-three?
“I’m still upset with you,” Alisaie bit out and drawing Heron’s attention back to the here-and-now.
“That’s fair,” Heron said. “Not asking you not to be.” And, because Alisaie needed to let this out before it festered into something ugly: “What part has you the most upset?”
“That I understand why you did it!”
Both of Heron’s eyebrows shot up, and she gently shook Alisaie. “Hey,” she said, quieting her voice. “I hear that self-loathing, none of that now.”
“We were supposed to help you,” and there are tears in Alisaie’s voice now, and that is what made Heron’s heart break. “And despite all our might and magic, the Endsinger swatted us away like gnats, and if you hadn’t used the transponders, she would have finished the job. All we could do was pray you came back, and those were the worst bells of my life.”
Heron sighs, slow and steady, and hugs Alisaie close. “The worst part about adventuring, and heroics,” she said after a long moment, “are those days when you can’t do anything. I felt like that when we were first before Ifrit, and he tempered all those other captives and left me and the others wondering why not us.
“I felt like that nearly the whole time on the First, when Synnove was the one taking on all the Lightwardens’ aether and I couldn’t do a damn thing to help her. And it’s worse when you understand why you can’t help.” Here Heron stopped to squeeze Alisaie, and her little sister sniffled. “Synnove was the best choice, rather than trying to spread it out amongst us all; she knew her aether better than of any of us knew of our own, could monitor and contain everything easier than if she was outside looking in.”
Heron lifted her cheek from the top of Alisaie’s head, but only look enough so she could prop her chin on it instead. “Those are the moments that stand out most to me, but there’s many others, especially with merc work. It’s a hard lesson, that sometimes you can’t help, or there are things you can’t guard against. All you can do, is be there for someone, or sometimes…just pray they come back.”
Alisaie sniffled again, refusing to let her tears fall, and very gently squeezed Heron back. “Still angry,” she mumbled.
“You’re allowed,” said Heron. “But not at yourself, all right? Sometimes its harder to accept you had no control in a situation, trying to give ourselves agency in hindsight. But there’s no shame in it, and what’s done is done. All we can do is hope that in the future, there will be a choice, and it’ll be better choices.”
Alisaie nodded and sighed heavily, but she was finally letting go of the tension she had been holding.
“Now,” Heron said, “can you explain to me in common what the hells Healingway is ranting about when she goes on about dynamic gastrointestinal regeneration and repair?”
“That’s a bit more Alphinaud or Y’shtola’s field since it relies heavily on conjury,” Alisaie said slowly, “but from what I gather, it’s involves harnessing lingering dynamis to—”
As Alisaie explained about how the healers were force-regrowing Heron’s innards using, to apparently quote Healing, high octane hope (what even was “high octane”), to Heron’s baffled disgust and Alisaie’s growing enthusiasm for every horrified noise Heron made, Heron caught a flash out of the corner of her eye. She tilted her head slightly, and saw a long-tailed bluebird perched on the open window sill.
She winked at it. And the bluebird winked back.

Y’all uh. holy fucking shit I’ve finished Endwalker! So here we have the last (pre-Dawntrial) breakdown of Cimorene’s feelings on her friends and comrades!
Thoughts post-ARR | Thoughts post-Heavensward | Thoughts post-Stormblood | Thoughts post-Shadowbringers
And now, without further ado, Cimorene Greystone’s post-Endwalker relationship vibes!!
Estinien - after some awkward dancing around it - that everyone picked up on - they’re finally officially lovers (after he came to her room. you know the moment.) Cimorene truly loves everything about this ridiculous man, trusts and understands and respects him and knows he feels the same - but also neither is really used to a Conventional Courtship so currently things are a little touch-and-go as they figure out where they want to go moving forward
Alphinaud - her dearest and most beloved baby brother now and always. There is nothing more to say; he means everything to her.
Alisaie - her dearest and darlingest baby sister now and always. Deserves the fucking world and also A Break.
Thancred - the work friend to real friend pipeline kicked into high gear this expansion, though admittedly for a minute it was much more on his side than hers (and took her off guard when she realized how close he considered them). Now he’s a bestie and she cares deeply for him.
Urianger - you did it buddy! you got Cimorene to care about you! Maybe if, as you yourself point out, you’d talked to her before now it would have been sooner! Nonetheless better late than never and she looks upon you - and your relationship with Thancred - with fondness.
Y'shtola - bestie now and always. Cimorene loved getting to spend more time with her while dealing with the Thirteenth. She thinks her world-hopping ambitions are a bit Insane, but like, affectionately - and also if anyone could pull it off, it's her. She can't wait to see where she goes, figuratively and literally.
Krile - That's! Cimorene's! mom! She loves her very much and she is thrilled beyond words that she's going to be on their next adventure, properly. It's what she fucking deserves! (but also nothing is allowed to hurt her or Cimorene will riot)
G'raha - is a lot more chill with him now that he, himself, is a little more chill around her. I'd still say she considers him like a close work friend, but like, she's open to that growing down the line
Tataru - absolute fucking queen who 100% deserves her own trade empire. Cimorene has her back for anything she needs going forward
Vrtra - Cimorene loves him so so so much. Her strong attachment to Midgardsormr means that she met Vrtra and felt immediately protective of him (and he, in turn, of her). Conversely, however, she never feels… at ease around Varshahn because he constantly gives her Uncanny Valley Heebie-Jeebies, even though she knows it’s Vrtra. In spite of this she still cares deeply and would do anything for him.
Matsya - BEST BOYYYYYYYY full stop lmao
Nidhana - Cimorene is like, ever so slightly intimidated by her and her scientific enthusiasm but like, also not in a bad way. Cimorene's just not science-minded at all so half of the things she says go very much over her head. But she's so sweet that it doesn't really matter in the end
Hythlodaeus - i the player love him. Cimorene loves him. Cimorene’s Azem loved him. Most beloved of characters of all time methinks
Hades - Cimorene’s Azem’s relationship with him is that one post that’s like “ships that appear unhealthy but when you consider the two people involved this is actually the healthiest thing for them” and that colors a lot of how Cimorene interacts with him. Like this constant “fuck you” said with unbearable levels of affection.
Venat - Cimorene never, uh, fully trusted Hydaelyn and she feels really bad about that now lmao Venat is so good and Cimorene now holds her in such high esteem like. This woman is Everything.
Hermes - She feels bad for him... like, she does, really. But also. Your hubris, man. Your hubris. She watches him unintentionally orchestrate his and his world's downfall with such precision and is helpless to stop him and so it's never hate. it's not even pity. It's just a sad, tired resignation.
Meteion - baby girl you never asked for this. you just wanted flowers and candy apples and were instead given this man's depression and existential dread and an insane amount of unstable untested power. this wasn't your fault. like... it was, but Cimorene never blames her.
Themis - *DISTRESSED SOBBING*
Zenos - no amount of philosophical posturing is going to convince Cimorene that you have anything whatsoever in common - or even make you interesting to her. she does not think about you at all. leave her alone.
Zero - took all of 5 seconds for Cimorene to say 'this is my sibling now.' She's very protective of her but also is always worried she'll say the wrong thing while teaching her the World - and is glad others have also hopped in to help in that regard. Is so proud of her growth and her heart. Wants only good things for her now and always
… and that’s all she wrote!! This is kinda insane to think about really
See you all in Dawntrail!!
#ffxiv#Endwalker#post endwalker#final fantasy xiv#ffxiv wol#I can’t believe we’re here guys lmao#time to go into dawntrail as blind as the rest of y’all

This could have been a Phone Call
“I am soooo sorry!!” Babycorn danced around in a panic, running around the platform they were standing on. “I-I didn’t mean to transform like that! It just happened and-! And-!” Her eyes were beginning to water. “Babycorn it’s fine!!” Alisaie was the first to stand in her way, stopping Babycorn in her tracks. “The point is we won and because of you we won even faster than we normally would.” “Weally…?” Babycorn was crying now. “R-Really…?” Alisaie turned around to her brother, silently asking him if he was seeing the same thing as her. When Alphinaud nodded, that's when she figured that she hadn’t hit her head too hard, she wasn’t seeing things. Babycorn sniffled, “Okay…!” As long as no one thought she was a scary freak it was fine. Hopefully everyone would still want to be friends with her and not leave her alone forever. Babycorn Corn was absolutely normal with nothing wrong with her. …Except for maybe the pair of horns on her head and tail swishing behind her.
ffxiv write day 16: third-rate
dawntrail spoilers during the rite of successsion wuk lamat is called to answer a vitally important question
It had been strange, very strange. All of a sudden, right as Team Wuk Lamat had landed in Yak T'el, one of the members of Zoraal Ja’s group had come up to them and very nervously told Wuk Lamat that her eldest brother wanted to speak to her. Alone.
Of course this request was met with a resounding agreement of ‘Um. No????’ Considering what had happened a few days ago with Bakool Ja Ja, the apprehension was understandable.
Thankfully Wuk Lamat managed to convince the others to let her go. After all this was her brother she was meeting with. Yes, it was her one brother who on no condition was allowed to win the rite of succession otherwise an all out war would break out–but her brother nonetheless.
It took a lot (A LOT) of persuading but eventually she was able to convince even Erenville to let her go.
On one condition.
Another bug flew past Wuk Lamat, “Woah! That was a big one.” It must have been some kind of beetle. Whatever it was didn’t really matter for long because exactly one second later Cherrypit jumped up and caught the bug in his mouth.
Wuk Lamat watched as he chewed up the bug. “How does that taste?”
Cherrypit sat innocently on the ground as if he hadn’t done anything. “Bah!” He answered.
“I see.” That hadn’t really answered her question. Oh well, time was of the essence and she had someone to see. She was surprised Zoraal Ja had even bothered reaching out to her. She couldn’t help but let her thoughts wander on what exactly he wanted with her.
True to Zoraal Ja’s teammate's words, he was standing in the exact spot he had told her he would be waiting at. It looked like he had been waiting for quite a while, arms crossed and staring right at her. ‘How did he know I was coming this way?’
“Hey! Zoraal Ja! Here I am!” Wuk Lamat shouted, jumping up and down, waving her arms around. As if she wasn’t standing right in front of him. “And right on time–might I add.”
“Hiiii!” Cherrypit cheered. He wanted to say hi too.
Zoraal Ja walked closer and looked down, eyeing Cherrypit. “Abababab!” Cherrypit babbled. His white blank eyes reflected Zooral Ja’s reflection back at him. “I thought I said-”
“Yeah, yeah. Come alone. I heard. But…” Wuk Lamat sighed, shaking her head. It was a little embarrassing to admit after all. “Turns out when you get kidnapped the group you’re traveling with decides together to assign you a bodyguard…”
Zoraal Ja was silent. Staring at Cherrypit and then at Wuk Lamat and then back at Cherrypit again then at the baby leash he was wearing being held by his sister.
“Hey he’s tougher than he looks okay?!”
Both siblings looked down to see Cherrypit currently chewing on the leash tying him to Wuk Lamat’s side. Cherrypit looked up and smiled, a swab of drool dripping down his mouth onto his shirt.
None present would have ever guessed Cherrypit currently had a kill count in the triple digits.
“Right. I need to ask you something.”
Ah so he was just going to cut straight to the point. That was expected. “Abouuuut?” Wuk Lamat had a few guesses about what this was about. “If this is about the rite of succession then you should have asked Koana.” He probably knew more about it then her anyway…
“No. It’s not.” Zoraal Ja for once looked like he was hesitating, “It’s a question I can only ask you.”
“R-Really?! You’re serious?!” This had to be a hell of a question then if neither of her brothers could answer it. A surge of confidence overtook Wuk Lamat, suddenly she was really pumped up to answer whatever question Zoraal Ja had for her. “Okay then! Let me have it! What’s your question hermano?!”
“The one you’re traveling with. Babycorn. Is she together with anyone?”
“What.”
Even Cherrypit was confused to hear his sister’s name come up.
“What kind of question is THAT?!” Of course only she would be able to answer that! Babycorn was on her team, traveling with her. Babycorn hadn’t spent much time with either of her brothers as far as she knew. Then again there was that short amount of time Babycorn talked with Koana. Apparently.
But still-! “Why are you asking me that?!” What reason would Zoraal Ja have to…
“Oh…Oooooh!!” The dots were coming together. The way that Zoraal Ja had left so quickly after defeating Valigarmanda, how far away he stood from their group, the way he seemed to instantly teleport to the opposite side of the room when Babycorn walked up to him.
“Oooooh my god do you like her??!!!”
Zoraal Ja let out a grunt that Wuk Lamat knew meant something like ‘Not so loud’
Despite this, Wuk Lamat cackled louder than ever. Cherrypit wasn’t sure what was going on but he wanted to laugh too. “Ha! Ha! Ha!” He wiggled his legs around and swayed from side to side. Clearly having the time of his life sitting in the dirt.
Wuk Lamat took a deep breath, trying to calm down after her fit of laughter. “Well first of all–congrats she’s single.” She wiped a tear from the corner of her eye, “Is this because she jumped on you while she looked like that?” What Wuk Lamat was referring to was a form that Babycorn took by complete accident.
While in this form Babycorn was almost twice her size, a pair of horns on her head and a tail swinging behind her. Not to mention the sharp teeth that Wuk Lamat had personally seen easily tearing a monster apart.
It was probably best to not mention that to Zoraal Ja right now. Maybe later.
The way Zoraal Ja didn’t bother to look at her was the confirmation she needed. Her brother unfortunately had a crush on one of the worst people he could have gotten. “Sorry but I think you have your work cut out for you.”
“Explain.”
Wuk Lamat shrugged, “The second we landed in Tuliyollal someone came up to her and asked her out on a date!” During her tour of the city Wuk Lamat ended up having to cut through areas she knew hardly had any people in it just so they could walk more than five steps without someone stopping Babycorn to offer her flowers and chocolates. “Then they tell me that this happens to her almost everyday! Sorry but you've got a lot of competition out there.”
As Zoraal Ja considered whether or not it would be a smarter move to violently cut down his apparent competition now or simply give more gifts than them, Wuk Lamat continued to talk.
“Plus there’s Butter too.” He might be the single most threatening person for anyone trying to win Babycorn’s heart. Even Wuk Lamat could see something going on there. From the way they held hands almost everywhere to Babycorn constantly asking Butter if he was okay.
“Who? What?”
“You know…?” Wuk Lamat put her hands on her head to imitate a pair of shetona ears. “The shetona boy? The small one? Spiky hair? Always has a smile on his face?”
None of that was ringing a bell for him.
“Don’t tell me you haven’t been paying attention to any members of my team?!”
The deafening sound of Zoraal Ja’s silence told Wuk Lamat everything she needed to know.
“Aw what?!” Her disappointment was immeasurable. “We’re competing with each other! Don’t tell me you’re not even paying attention to the people helping me?!” Was Zoraal Ja even taking her seriously? She expected something like this but somehow it still really stung.
“The people helping you are of no interest to me.”
Wuk Lamat exchanged a glance with Cherrypit. She turned her back and pointed back at her brother with a look that she hoped he would understand as her saying something like ‘Can you believe this guy Cherry?’ It was probably better if she skipped asking whether this was because Zoraal Ja didn’t see them as a threat in the competition.
Nonetheless, she didn’t see her brother getting very far in the very real gauntlet of getting a date with Babycorn.
“Far be it from me to offer romantic advice but maybe you could start by talking to her?” As far as Wuk Lamat could remember her brother and Babycorn had never even exchanged a single word with each other.
“I did talk to her.”
“Destroying our path and telling us we needed to find another way in Worqor Zormor doesn’t count.”
Zoraal Ja crossed his arms and looked away again. It counted for him.
“Besides even if you do count it–that’s only once you’ve talked with her.” All the couples she knew definitely talked more than once. And if Zoraal Ja couldn’t even work up the nerve to talk with Babycorn, then his chance was over before it even started. “Have I mentioned that Butter is also a viper? That’s direct competition.”
That just seemed to make him madder. Or more determined? Wuk Lamat couldn’t tell the difference lately. Hopefully she hadn’t just put Butter’s life in mortal danger.
“For the record I am on your side one hundred percent Zoraal Ja!” Having Babycorn as a sister-in-law sounded like the coolest thing ever. “If you want me to put in a good word for you I will! You just need to ask!” Probably after the rite of succession though.
Wuk Lamat guessed that maybe Babycorn wouldn’t believe her saying those sorts of things while directly competing with her brother.
“I don’t need you to do that.”
“...Then why even ask for my help?”
“I just needed you to answer one question. That’s all.”
“Figures.” Wuk Lamat looked down at Cherrypit, still happily sitting down and babbling some made up baby language to himself. He looked up at her and smiled, “Wuka! Wukla!” He wiggled his fingers towards her. It was pretty clear he wanted her to pick him up.
There was no way Wuk Lamat could stay mad looking at something so cute. She could get mad later though. “Come here then!” She stretched her arms out and let Cherrypit jump into them. Enough time had passed that she was finally getting acclimated to both Starsinger’s weird behavior.
“You know even if you don’t ask for it–I’ll still help you out.” By now Zoraal Ja had already begun to walk away, only stopping for a second to hear whatever Wuk Lamat had left to say. “I gotta say though it’s a pretty bold move to admit your crush in front of Babycorn’s brother.”
“What.”
Zoraal Ja quickly turned around, looking straight at Cherrypit. “Hiii!” Cherrypit could tell he was being stared at. He waved back at Zoraal Ja with both his hands.
“Did you-Did you not-? Did you not know??”
Wuk Lamat’s answer came in the form of Zoraal Ja walking away from them faster than he’d been walking before. “Ah-!?” In the blink of an eye he was long gone. Which also gave him a head start to find the next elector. Damn it.
“You can’t walk away from your problems forever Zoraal Jaaaa!”
#ffxivwrite 2024#Dawntrail Spoilers#Cherrypit#i am NOT tagging npcs i will die#i wrote this one because it made me laugh#completly deranged voice: You see zoraal ja is like the bowser to babycorns peach#she 100 percent doesnt notice by the way#theres like an aura around babycorn that just makes her desirable to a lot of people everyone wants her fr fr#she did pounce on zoraal ja and pin him down and i guess that did it#would probably have killed him if wuk lamat didnt kick her off#the secret to babycorns heart is having cherrypit like you and being able to cook doesnt have to be good but it helps

so I realised I never really introduced my Warrior of Light..
this is Aren, a 23yo male Veena viera. he left his homeland because of a dream he had of the mother crystal and of eorzea. he doesn't recall his original name, and due to all that's gone on since he first arrived he remembers next to nothing of his life before eorzea.
he's madly in love with g'raha, loves teasing alisaie (who he considers his baby sister), and is just such a sweetheart. he's kind, caring and always willing to give people the chance to do and be better. urianger and thancred are like dads to him, especially thancred, and he calls them dad (urianger) and tiny dad (thancred).
after all he's been through, he's still such a sweet boy and he and raha deserve all the happiness in the world ;3;

Prompt 30: Amity
FFXIV 30 Day Writing Challenge Prompt 30: Amity And we end on Streamer AU. Guest appearances by Prompto of FFXV and Futaba of Persona 5.
“You ever think about how often we end up here?” Araki asked, arms crossed behind his head.
“On an Accord call trying to hash things out?” Prompto replied, a rustling on his end indicating his shrug. “Not really.”
Araki hummed. “We need a better way of doing this.”
“And probably not on days when Alisaie and Goro are otherwise indisposed.”
“Gods, Prom, don’t make it sound like that, Alisaie’s just got therapy today.” Araki shuddered, shaking his head. The sharpness of it nearly made his headset fall off his horns.
“Is that why I’m here?” came Alphinaud’s voice, less than impressed.
“Someone’s got to take notes, my dude.”
Alphinaud made a disbelieving noise. “I’ll note you don’t have a Phantoms representative here.”
“Eh, I’m sure Futaba’s listening in,” Prompto said, tone fondly dismissive. “You know how she is.”
A buzz came from Alphinaud’s end of the call, followed by a pause. Then an offended noise. “I had no part in that! Alisaie was the one who bought the weighted dice!”
Both Araki and Prompto started laughing, remembering the incident well. “Good times,” Araki eventually said, a touch breathless.
“Can I just say? This is actually the more fun part, just chatting, instead of deciding if we’ll play another round of Stardew or seeing if we can win that one Featherman game,” Prompto murmured. “Don’t get me wrong, the Featherman games are good—”
“Futaba says of course they are.”
“—I just really like the planning more.”
Another hum from Araki. “You’re not wrong. Just chatting with friends is a good way to pass the time.”
“Please don’t pass too much time,” Alphinaud sighed. “I have an event in a bell and a half.”
“Yeah yeah, I know.” Araki sat up straighter and turned his attention back to his monitor. “So, I was thinking, go with the classics. One of the Marco Kart games. Futaba, ask your brother if he’s got any of them. Alphinaud, tell your sister no speed run tricks.”
[You got it!] showed up on Araki’s phone, Futaba’s preferred way of communicating.
“She would never!” gasped out Alphinaud, offended on his sister’s behalf at the very idea.
“Hell yeah, Marco Kart!” cheered Prompto. “I’m a pro with Baby Marco, I’ll wipe the floor with all of you!”
“Best put your gil where your mouth is,” Araki said with a grin, composing the messages to the others as he spoke. “I’m pretty damn good with Princess Plum.”
And so it went, Alphinaud eventually excusing himself and the call winding down. Plans were made, slowly the members of the Phantoms, Lucians, and Champions responded, confirming or denying availability. Though the event would probably end in complete chaos, it was always good for the jumble of unlikely friends to do something silly.

Agi Says It's Starlight. Right Now.
And here's a little fic under the cut ;)
Estinien Varlineau knew something was off when she received a package at the Mist house, let out a scream of joy, and ran upstairs.
Perhaps “off” is the wrong word. “Deeply concerned” is more accurate. “Unsettling” works too.
“Mummy’s planning something, Es.” He muttered, watching their daughter crawl in circles around him. “She’s got that…look. You know the one.”
Esme continued to babble happily.
“Aye, she’s up no good I agree.” Crossing his scarred arms over his chest, he smiled at their daughter.
“OH MY FUCKING GODS! LOVE, YOU MUST SEE THIS!” Agnes yelled as she bounded down the stairs. Esme stopped crawling and squealed, pointing at her mother.
Estinien froze.
She sauntered to him wearing her very short Starlight dress that shows off her Starlight ham thighs but instead of the usual tights and boots, she had on reindeer hooves, mittens, and antlers. With a bloody red nose, for Fury’s sake. “It’s that time of year again, my grumpy dragon.” She practically sang and did a twirl for him. “Doesn’t Mummy look so pretty, Esme? And don’t worry, my little love, I have a dress and accessories for you too!” She picked up the baby (is she still a baby if she’s over a summer old?) and cooed at her. “You’re going to look so fucking cute in your Starlight outfit. Even more than last year!” Turning to her husband, she giggled. “Oh dear, I think your father needs a moment.”
Varlineau, this isn’t all bad. On the positive side you’ve got Agi in a hot dress showing off her legs and thighs. Her tits look amazing in everything she wears. She is, as always, undeniably adorable and pretty.
On the other hand, Starlight is her favorite holiday, and she lets literally everyone, man and creature alike, know it. She bakes a billion things, but few of them are ours. And fuck…she’s going to make me dress up.
“I can see the wheels creaking along in your head, love.” Agnes teased and gave Esme’s tummy a tickle.
His face was in his hands as she laughed. “Agi, you know I love you so much…but it’s not even the month of Starlight!! We barely just got over All Saints’ Wake!”
Agnes smiled ruefully. “Well, I did promise myself that this year would be more relaxed than last year. Starlight Eve and the day itself it’ll just be the three of us.” She frowned and kissed Esme’s head. “I know so much of last year was overwhelming for you. I-I…you should enjoy it in your own way, and I shouldn’t accept every invitation I receive.”
I truly am the luckiest man on the star. Estinien lifted his head and for a second, admired his wife. There are none more blessed than I. Because of her. All because of her.
“Love?”
He blinked, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Sorry. Was just thinking,” he smirked as he walked and circled her. With his lips against an ear, he whispered, “Thinking about how beautiful you are, my angel.” And give her a nice ass tap. As a treat!
Giggling, she rolled her eyes. “Gods, you are something else, Estinien. So grateful to be free during Starlight and so turned on by your wife in a Starlight reindeer ensemble. What a combination!” Agnes gave him a quick peck before handing him Esme. “Though I should say technically it won’t be the three of us.” Her eyes are twinkling. What’s she planned? “It’ll be the five of us.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Five? Your mother and…?”
Aymeric?
Y’shtola?
Waters? No, he wouldn’t come without Urianger.
G’raha?
Not Little Lord Alphinaud and Alisaie.
TATARU??!?!
Her hands rested on her soft belly. “Five. We’re having twins, love. Y’shtola saw two little balls of aether this time.” She smiled at him just like she did when I proposed. Fury, how radiant she was then and continues to be. “Our little family isn’t going to be not so little anymore.”
Glancing at Esme, who was staring back up at him with the cutest fucking smile in the world, he grinned. “You hear that, Es? You’re going to be a big sister twice! How about that, eh?” I MADE TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wrinkling her nose, she removed the reindeer headband and put her glasses back on. “I think she’s very excited…but what about you?”
He grunted. “Woman, as if you have to ask. I’m very happy, my sweet.” I. MADE. TWINS. They shared a brief kiss and then Estinien laughed heartily as Esme giggled. “Es, Mummy’s having twins! Could she tell what they are?”
She shook her head. “Not yet, love. In another moon or so I think. Why, do you have any preferences?”
“Nay, only that they’re healthy. We could have a dozen sons or daughters, it matters not. The only thing that matters is you. You’re the one having them after all.” He looked at Esme. “Mummy has them, so Mummy decides when she’s done having them. Got it, little one?”
His wife chuckled. “Oh good gods, it’s never too early to teach that I suppose. Hey,” she offered him a warm smile. “I love you.”
“As I ever love you.” Always and forever, Agi.

3.4 REALLY DID THAT, HUH???
heavensward spoilers under the cut for those who follow me that havent finished it. as well as me dumping about my wols
FIRST OF ALL I TOOK SO MANY SCREENSHOTS. LIKE MAYBE TOO MANY SCREENSHOTS BUT THATS BESIDES THE POINT.
<- ME, SCREENSHOT HAPPY.
Starting off with Aymeric.... I love him. I love him very dearly. I love how the story acknowledges that the wol is apprehensive about accepting drinks from people even if they know it will probably be fine. ALSO EVERYTHING ABOUT TAHT CONVERSATION.... it hit. it did. i love Aymeric.
AND THEN-- I really met Alisaie when doing coils and then met her 30 minutes after finishing it because i did coils back to back with 3.4 and HRHJGMMHHFHM. like I liked her but she really did just skyrocket into my top 5 characters within a few set of quests. AND HOUUAUGUHGHG MAN.
the stuff with Ga Bu..... the poor baby. AND THE STARGAZING SEQUENCE. SOLIDIFIED ALISAIE TOP 5.
ARDBERT IS HIS OWN CAN OF WORMS. HE IS ONE OF THE CHARACTERS EVER. TRULY. PUNCHED ME RIGHT IN THE GUT. ME AND MY WOL BOTH. "we never aspired to be Warriors of Light." THAT WAS A SUCKER PUNCH TO THE FACE. THATS MY WHOLE SHIT. THATS MY WHOLE THING WITH MY WOLS. "We fought and we fought and we fought... until there was no one left to fight. We won ...and now our world is being erased from existence."
^ Quite literally my whole point about what my wols struggle with. They give EVERYTHING to the fight. to the cause. and in the end, it never is enough. It never was enough, for Alidae. she gave up at the end of ARR cause she lost hope that she could do enough. T'lyr was forced to take a break, lest he resign himself to burnout and destruction of self. Sthallona never returned to the fight after the Calamity. she no longer wanted to have to prove herself to the world that she was enough.
and here it is. in the fucking game. in personified form. rar you warned me and i really didn't understand. I Understand Now.
oh also dont get me started on Urianger. I've already resigned that I have to put him on my top ffxiv character list. I was losing my goddamn mind the entire time about his double crossing scheme.
OH SPEAKING OF URIANGER. AND JUST IN GENERAL. THE VOICE ACTING???? THE VOICE ACTING??? tHE VOICE ACTING!!!! The voice acting in this patch was phenominal. I was worried I wasn't going to like Urianger's voice after swearing by Gideon Emery AND THEN WAS PROVEN WRONG WITHIN SECONDS. Ardbert, again, is his own can of worms. Joe Dempsie really put his all into this role and I could not thank him enough. I quite literally almost cried and news flash: I don't cry at things. Very easily.
EEEEHAHAHAHA THEN WE GET TO THE WORD OF THE MOTHER MINFILIA. THAT ENTIRE SEQUENCE RIPPED WHAT LITTLE LEFT OF MY EMOTIONAL STABILITY TO SHREDS. "Minfilia don't you dare I don't have the emotional capacity tonight," I say to my sibling, right as she appears, having not even experienced the cutscene yet. I was right. I did not have the emotional capacity. (Side note: neither did Alidae! guarantee she was holding back tears the entire time.)
Thancred was on the verge of tears too I don't care what you say. That is his sister that he is saying goodbye to for (to his knowledge) probably the last time.
OH F'LHAMINN'S REACTION HURT A BIT MORE THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD. THATS HER DAUGHTER.
Oh I'm SO MAD that Y'shtola and Krile and Lyse (yes I know about Yda being Lyse such is the curse of being on the internet) and Papalymo weren't there to say goodbye too. like I understand that would have been a lot of voice acting and a lot of models to fit on screen, BUT THEY DESERVED THAT :(((
and I finished the 'An Ending to Mark a New Beginning' quest already in shambles. but I knew there was going to be some kind of teaser cutscene to wrap up the patch. I was Wholly expecting something pertaining to Papalymo or Yda in set up for Stormblood. and well lets just say I was Wrong.
Something you should know about me, I got abnormally attached to two characters. Those who know me personally, it should not be a surprise as to why I got attached to them. And for those who don't its anybody's fucking guess. Those two characters being Cid and Nero respectively.
SO THE TEASER CUTSCENE BEING NONE OTHER THAN MOTHERFUCKING NERO DISCOVERING OMEGA. SENT ME INTO HYSTERICS. HI I AM NOT SORRY FOR WHO I WILL BECOME WHEN I REACH THE OMEGA RAIDS. I WAS IN THE CORNER OF MY ROOM CONTEMPLATING FOR A SOLID THREE MINUTES BEFORE REGAINING MY COMPOSURE AND GOING BACK TO MY COMPUTER.\
anyway thank you for your time. TL;DR I am not normal about Ardbert, Alisaie, and Nero. I don't think I will emotionally recover from this patch for a solid week and I am so sorry for those close to me that will have to hear about it (and to those who already have)
I have to work later tonight. I have not slept. <- this was posted at 6am.

Nerise on: the twins and/or vtra/varshaun (separately on the last two if you're feeling it) and/or ardbert
Ask game: send an in game characters name to see how someones WoL/OC feels about them
Alphinaud: Another very strong shift from "What an obnoxious kid; who does he think he is" to "This is my baby brother and if anyone harms a single hair on his head I'm going to tear them limb from limb." She and Alphinaud don't always get along - again, Nerise has no patience for politics and that's Alphi's bread and butter - but she's protective of him. And proud of him.
Alisaie: By the time Alisaie returns in Ishgard, she and Nerise are very prepared to adore each other. Nerise likes how action-oriented Alisaie is; they're both most comfortable when getting things done. Of all the Scions, Alisaie is the one Nerise gets along best with, though they enjoy a friendly rivalry. Alisaie has tried to teach Nerise a little bit of magic, but she just doesn't have the head for it.
Nerise probably has to be held back from punching Fourchenault.
Multiple times.
Varshahn: When Varshahn first appears holding a basket of dragon scales, Nerise is fully prepared to believe the worst of the satrap. Sohl Amh - like Estinien - immediately senses the presence of a great wyrm, but not understanding exactly how or why, chooses to keep their silence, so all Nerise knows right away is that her wyvern friend is uneasy about something about this kid. She's not at all inclined to trust him, and is keeping a sharp eye on him, ready to learn that Radz-at-Han's "pact" with this unseen dragon is all a lie and the beast is being held somewhere against their will.
Vrtra: She loves Vrtra. Instantly, immediately, and more the longer she knows him. He reminds her a great deal of his sister Ratatoskr in his love for mankind and his desire for peace, and in his love for Thavnair. When her adventures and his duties allow, she likes to sit and speak with him - and of course she and Sohl Amh throw themselves wholeheartedly into the quest to save Azdaja.
Ardbert: Complicated, as you might expect. In a very strange way, Ardbert is one of the few people who understand a little of what she's gone through since arriving in the future - he, too, is forced to see the remnants of a world he failed to save, and the memories of friends he was forced to lose. She's not sure she likes having someone around who sees right through her, but it makes things a little less lonely.
#nerise the dragonrider#thank you <3#sohl amh's still a little weirded out by varshahn djfkdsjfk#'we can DO that???'
