The first finished concept painting of my #alienchessset project: The King. :) All the figures shall be a mixture of (deep) sea creatures and imaginative alien features. For the king in particular, I wanted to achieve a shark-y, mighty, yet not so agile and not too awesome look. After all, this chess piece is pretty powerless when it comes to the actual game (only moving one field at a time and not providing any greater battle power). About one month ago I started learning sculpting in #Zbrush and I also started a personal project while connecting it to my university course in illustration. The project is about creating a unique alien chess set (because I always wanted to make one on my own and I wanted to use it to learn 3D sculpting as mentioned as well as for creating some concepts for my portfolio).
