One thing I find really sad about the finale episode of mlp is that the mane 6 have gotten alot older in the time skip, if they were in their 20s (in human development because ponies seem to age differently) in most of the show then it looks like at least another 20 years would have passed since twighlight took the throne

And if all alicorns are immortal like celestia and Luna seem to be, that means twighlight will live well after all of her beloved friends have passed away because they aren't afforded the ability to live forever along with twighlight. And I think that is just so fucking sad.

The ponies that literally changed the entire course of her life will be gone so soon. Its so sad

But also they made 3 ships Canon in a row (i was so caught offguard by that) so that's a positive!

existential question to all mlp fans and honestly just a rant about stuff I didn’t understand around 4-5 years ago and just asked myself at midnight in 2022

why does Celestia count as a princess the whole show?

Her and Luna’s parents aren’t there and she’s obviously ruling Equestria by herself, yet she’s not crowned as the queen??? Like??? Are her parents just on a life long vacation somewhere else or what??????? She’s there for over 100 years as a ruler, SURELY she must’ve left the title of a princess (which is useless and usually means “next in line to marry a king”)

unless she DOES get the title of the queen in the 5th season that I never finished watching, then I am completely wrong.

Same goes to Cadence btw! She rules HER OWN KINGDOM SEPARATE FROM EQUESTRIA, YET SHE’S STILL A PRINCESS???? Or am I remembering it wrong???? Also by this logic, Twighlight was a princess already since season 2 or smth, when did This Day Aria happen idk

so??? Do they have like the version of monarchy where the ruler is a princess/prince, not a queen/king and those titles don’t exist? Also apparently you don’t have to be born an alicorn to become a representative of something completely random in the ruler palace. You can just be a random student of a princess that was sent to a 100x100 m3 village to learn about friendship and occasionally fight the god of chaos or smth that even a celestial being like Celestia cannot beat.

Like. If 6 completely random ponies somehow chosen by a rainbow splash can defeat this amalgamation and make him friends with the most innocent of them, then surely the immortal princess of the sun can do something??? Yet she was like fuck no i am not messing with him i will rather send some young adults with limited knowledge of magic to fight this shit. A shape-shifting queen with a whole army of her rabid insects? Those 6. An even more crazy toddler who has better plans of domination than any other villain? Those 6. A literal MINOTAUR that can Thanos snap the whole world? THOSE 6. Restore peace between Equestria and some other random kingdoms that should be ruler’s work? AGAIN, THOSE 6. Make them the rules, if you’re so useless, Celestia. Luna had a right to be mad at you in the first season. I’d become Nightmare Moon if I had to live through your bullshit.

Anyway, my favourite characters are that chill Zebra who lives in the woods and Chrysalis, cause she’s irredeemable, rabid, queer-coded and just cool. And Sombrero Sombra. He’s cool too, I guess. Had more potential. Ship him with Luna.

Also are all the parents just automatically like oh i’m very sure that this little dude will want to be a guard so we’ll give him the most embarrassing name after Cheese Sandwich, which is SHINING ARMOR. Y’ALL PUT THIS HIDEOUS NAME IN THE MOST ICONIC SONG THAT I STILL LISTEN TO ON A REPEAR COMPLETELY UNIRONICALLY AND I HATE IT

Have you ever wondered why princess Luna and Celestia’s manes flow? Well, I think I figured it out. If you remember in the episode “Twilight’s Kingdom part 1” Twighlight is given all the alicorn magic in equastria and suddenly her mane flows for a short time while the others lose the flow until their magic is returned. So what if they flow because they’re releasing magic from their body in order to prevent it from building up and causing “power surges” like Twighlight has later on when she randomly teleported chaotically and without control? The magical energy had built up and had to be released so even simple things like flying became immensely powerful. So basically what I’m saying is the manes flow because they’re releasing magical energy that would otherwise build up and explode when they used their magic. And princess cadence’s mane doesn’t flow because she’s releasing her magical energy by spreading love which means her magic energy never builds up. But what do you think?
