i haven’t posted about ni no kuni in so long but i had a thought while replaying rusty’s nightmare earlier and why the nightmares are the size that they are

rusty’s nightmare is small because as well as being the first boss lmao i think it could be because of his love for his family being much of his motivation to keep going and to not let the darkness takeover him so much

swaine’s nightmare is a large one because of the fact that he has very little to motivate him, which not only makes sense for him being ‘void of restraint’, but also makes sense for why it has such broad shoulders, because he feels like he’s carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, such as his late father’s expectations for him

denny’s nightmare idk much about since it’s probably the least interesting nightmare to me but i think it’s small because of the support system he has around him, such as the dog (whose name i can’t remember rn lmao) and myrtle as his friend

khulan’s nightmare is slim because of the lack of love she has felt throughout her life?? i guess?? yeah i got nothing lmao

meanwhile philip’s nightmare is the biggest of the lot because of the weight of responsibility he feels since he believes he got oliver’s mom killed, and it’s been a weight in his mind for a while, also because his ambition (that had previously been his passion) was ultimately the thing that he believes was responsible for the death of alicia…if that makes any sense

I designed Khulan The Emperor and Alicia back in like december and then had ZERO ideas for Rashaad for months until like yesterday so I finally got around to finishing it. I just think they're funny

Hello for the 0 people who have played Ni No Kuni who read this blog Kokoro no Kakera is such a beautiful song.

The whole game is about pairs of people saving each other no matter the cost. Alicia saves Oliver, Lucien saves Alicia, hell, even Pea saves Cassiopeia. And because they are saved, they (most of the time) go on to help others.

“I am alone, but never lonely” because I have a whole string of people who have been saved before me and who I will now save.

It’s such a good game and such a good song. The radical forgiveness of every character is so beautiful

i haven't infodumped about drippy in a long time. which is crazyyy. because i AM drippyfan37. where to even begin with drippy ni no kuni.

i've been thinking about oliver and drippy and alicia a lot because i started a new wotww save recently... they are so tragic because the three of them are never truly together. they are when drippy is a doll, sure, but can you really count that. and oliver and drippy don't even know they're trying to save the same person, you know? drippy is doing it for alicia and oliver is doing it for allie and they don't KNOW. they call each other family and they journey together but they think they are doing it for different people but then they're NOT they're doing it for the same person and suddenly drippy has stories about alicia and oliver has stories about allie and they're all about the same person and they've been family longer than they realised.

man i miss them. i'm gonna go play wotww
