Wait Alice in the escape AU is still there just sharing a body with Susie?
Does that mean the Boris is still living in Buddy?? 🧐🧐
Nope, just Alice! She’s the only toon that made it out. Sometimes she isn’t sure if that’s a good thing or not; this is nicer than than the Studio’s ink hell, and it’s wonderful to see the sun again, but it’s still… not home. It’s hard.
Whether she’s here because she's a person created by Susie’s mind based on the memories of Alice that she had when in Alice’s body, or, if this Alice is the same being that was imprinted into that toon body with Susie, and she’s stayed tangled up with her because of their unique relationship to each other, isn’t really clear to the JDS folks or even to Susie or Alice themselves, though they both believe the latter – but either way, Alice remembers being a cartoon, she remembers what her world is supposed to be like, she remembers surviving ink hell with Susie -- and she wants a chance at a life out here, and that’s the most important thing.

DID system Susie Campbell? (Pre-ink)
Susie, Milla, and Alice Angel being frequent fronters with other protectors occasionally.
If Susie lived today, she would have called them the Alice angel system.

The Murder Of Caroline Bundy
My thoughts on The Murder of Caroline Bundy by #AliceCampbell reissued by @DeanStPress #CrimeFiction #BookReview
A review of The Murder of Caroline Bundy by Alice Campbell – 240130
Alice Campbell’s sixth novel, The Murder of Caroline Bundy, was originally published in 1932 and has been reissued by Dean Street Press. It is somewhat melodramatic, a tad overlong tale of the manipulation, exploitation and ultimately the killing of a woman who has all her life been under the thrall of her father, Theodore…

No Retrogrades
Snowy and cold
Whew! Finally, we are done, for a brief shining moment with retrogrades, since Uranus went direct on Sunday the 22nd.
Which was also Chinese Lunar New Year, and we are now in the Year of the Water Rabbit.
Which is why tomorrow was chosen as the launch day for ANGEL…

Kicking off the #1929Club with the *other* AC!!
Kicking off the #1929Club with the *other* AC!!
Yes, you read that correctly! Instead of starting our reading week with the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie, I’m exploring a different Golden Age crime author! Christie is always a name I turn to, but I wasn’t feeling either of this year’s possible titles; so I turned to Dean Street Press and their stellar collection of reissues! They were kind enough to provide a copy of one of their 1929 books…

Juggernaut
An impressive debut novel from Alice Campbell, reissued by @DeanStPress. Never trust a doctor #CrimeFiction #amreading
A review of Juggernaut by Alice Campbell – 230210
Originally published in 1928 and now reissued by Dean Street Press, Juggernaut was the debut novel of Anglo-American crime writer, Alice Campbell. It was an enormous success either side of the Atlantic on its publication and was made into a film in 1936 with Boris Karloff playing the part of the sinister and menacing society doctor, Dr Santorius,…
