Well for those who saw my facebook or instagram post, yep this movie is trash. Is it absolutely horrible? No, only a Sith deals in absolutes. Yes, there's plenty of entertainment and good fun to be had. But as someone who stays up to date on lore and has been tracking the leaks on this movie, it was rather disappointing. Sure, Abrams had a tough time to make up for the previous film but that's no excuse to throw in Beskar grade plot armor, throw out more of canon, and really just being lazy with fast pace action hoping the audience isn't going to catch on to the bad story telling. MOVIE REVIEW | Joker 2019 I had zero intentions to watch this movie. But I heard good things about it. Okay. Definitely, not my cup of milk tea. However, I agree this movie was excellently made. Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing performance. He did a great job creating this version of the Joker. If you're looking for action, this isn't it. But if you are intrigued into an alternate "comic book" and character origins, this movie plays much in the fashion of the Amazon Prime's The Boys. There is also a small social cultural element in the movie that reflects our current events. Which is why I went out to see it. Overall, personally I did not care too much for this movie but I know there is an acquired taste for it. I guess my best description of this movie is it's a rehash of American Psycho... Quick Movie Review | Detective Pikachu (a mystery you can wait till redbox) -- It was fun. It was endearing. And Ryan Reynolds is the best. I just imagine the meme of Dr. Strange hitting deadpool with astral projection to see Pikachu. The animation was spot on. And while there's action, not so much for battles. Quick Movie Review: Captain Marvel -- HUA, this movie did not disappoint the quality that Marvel as set forth. Totally Gnarly. Terminator meets Guardians of the Galaxy meets Top Gun meets Men In Black. Love everything 90s about it. Great humor, on point music, and rad introduction to Carol Davers. So all the SJW talk surrounding this movie. Thankfully and good on Marvel on not buying into it. If there were sjw parts it was relevant to the Carol's character or story. Overall, I fully recommend this in theaters. It is a great appetizer going into Endgame. Quick Movie Review: Venom -- Well here's a step back in comic book movies. Poor writing... like DC poor and the pacing was extremely jarring. They didnt allow the scenes to breathe and flush out the characters. The only saving grace is the humor. Venom and Eddie Brock's dynamic was actually great. The tone should've been an action comedy start to finish. Overall, save your money.. instead watch Upgrade with Logan Marshall Green.
