Super super weird one, but a favorite of mine. Grimalkin or Greymalkin are an old old term for a cat with a bunch of associated slangs over the years and across the UK. They're mostly remembered now as being a term for a kind of scottish faerie creature which in turn became the term for a witch's familiar. So the classic image of a witch's black cat? That's a grimalkin.
But you'll notice that the Wild Arms 2's "Gremalkin" is entirely un-cat-like. I have zero explanation for this. It's like a giant eyeless, earless, purple bear that's full of bees. If anything it's battalion of insects almost feels like a throwback to Alhazad's red and blue bugs in the first Wild Arms? Plus it has an attack called "Chest Buster" which I think is meant to be "Chest Burster" like the baby xenomorph in Alien.
Confusingly an enemy type: Dubious Leopard, named Gremalkin does appear in Wild Arms XF of all things. They look nothing like WA2's Gremalkin, and have a sprite seemingly based on Displacer Beasts, from D&D.
But this shows that they DO understand that a Grimalkin is cat-like, which only retroactively makes the choice to make WA2's Gremalkin so un-cat-like confusing... The only recognizable cat I can think of with no ears is... Doraemon??? I mean... he does have a stomach pocket full of things kind of like Gremalkin's hive belly... but like...
???馃檭???

I threw in all his 'forms' lol (he's obviously the brown cat/human). At any rate, Alhazad. Demonic scientist and unparalleled genius. Known as the 'mad poet'. Deeply romantic, Middle Eastern (canonically I mean- Alhazred and all) charming, silver tongued devil. Relationship 24 years and counting as of August 1st.
eh. it's worth a shot.
reblog with your f/o (and a brief rundown of them and/or your ship) and I'll assign them a song sung by dean martin
bonus points if they're sappy, italian, or your ship is a little rocky

It always is kind of weird how the Aubrey as Pazuzu tattoo on my leg gets the most negative attention when he's probably the most benevolent being tattooed on my body.
Murdoc of the Gorillaz and the Alhazad wrist band.. Verg on my back, ya'all don't wanna read their wiki profiles lmao. Darkwing Duck was narcissist, and the FMA tat on my back.. while Ed never hurt anyone I wouldn't call him benevolent.
The Pazuzu tattoo is a protective and healing thing.
But that 80s movie threw our Sumerian Furry Guard Cat under the bus. Even though he never once hurt a child. I have him on me to keep my inner child safe. Because there's an awful lot of evil in this world that can shake that poor kid up. Where as Yahweh's kind of infamous for killing every first born child in Egypt because he was mad at Ramsey. Even though those children that died had no control over what Ramsey did. There was also this flood that happened, not sure if you hear about it. IDK how that religion preaches Pro-Life when that deity killed more children than your average abortion clinic. But to each his own. At least Pazuzu never hurt a child.
everyone who gives me shit is Christian, and to test their Biblical knowledge would be so fucking worth it.

Alhazad gettin' back scritches from Talathia! I imagine him arching his back up like a cat does when you itch the base of their tail.
Tail- back... second spine.. however his anatomy works. I head cannon his back end- the abdomen is like that of a wasp, and has a possible stinger. may or may not do my own character sheet of him with my head-cannoned Biology
