OK SO you know how his eyes are kinda weirdly colored? that teal, to red-orange, to pure white pupils look that he has going on?

well in this au, the red-orange and the white give off a small amount of light

normally its not noticable, but if he's in a dark room it's painfully obvious.

part of the reason why kaveh doesnt get why his impressions scare alhaitham so much is because alhaitham is so much more terrifying-

i mean imagine, coming home late at night (while drunk) and just seeing this staring at you

alhaitham has no idea why it happens. its not like anyone in his family ever had weird glowing eyes like that, and its not something he has any control over. it's just a thing of his.

but yeah his eyes glow :D

kaveh comes back and like "what happened to him??" still not understanding how disturbing it is for people to hear the acting grand sage's voice coming from the light of ksharewar.

cyno says it was his impression of alhaitham that did this, and kaveh completely misunderstands. he thinks that cyno is saying that his impression is so incredibly bad, that it managed to give someone pstd.

"well if it's as bad as you say, then i guess i'll have to keep practicing to sound more li-"

a loud, panicked scream of "NO" comes from cyno and parah, as well as a very raspy and broken one from the still-sick alhaitham. who, by attempting to yell like that, has just worsened his condition even more. it's going to take even longer for alhaitham's voice to come back now, meaning that kaveh might be needed again in the near future.
