I just know that Alfred Hutty (1877-1954), who painted in Woodstock, NY and Charleston, SC, would have loved painting this tree!...so like so much of his work. #deborahgibsondesign #alfredhutty #mossontrees (at Lobeco, SC)

Perfect jewel. Alfred Hutty (1877-1954) Lovely small signed gouache of a woman sweeping among the flowers. Bright and colorful and makes you think of Charleston in Spring. Alfred Heber Hutty was a 20th-century American artist who is considered one of the leading figures of the Charleston Renaissance. His oeuvre ranges from impressionist landscape paintings to detailed drawings and prints of life in the South Carolina Lowcountry. He was active in local arts organizations, helping to found both an art school and an etchers' club. #charlestonrenaissance #alfredhutty #charleston #historiccharlestonfoundation #springhousetours #carolinaprints #sewe #azalias #charlestonwatercolor Celebrating the 72nd Festival of Houses at @Historiccharlestonfoundation starting March 13th come visit me while you are here.
