hear me out,, omegaverse au where alpha!character pretends to be an omega to get another alpha!characters attention 🤔

yes. real. you get it. i’m fine with any dynamic but an omega x alpha tbh for the sole reason that i hate how they’re done usually 😭😭 ok small tangent about abo stuff for a hot sec:

alpha x alpha slaps bc of how alphas are typically portrayed. the idea that you need to get with an omega solely to carry on the family name / for honour is honestly so blah. until you add the alpha x alpha aspect. from there, you get the panic and fear of failure upon learning that the person you’ve fallen for is an alpha. also i like the idea of two hotheaded alphas trying to one up each other to prove affection idk it’s just silly

alpha x beta is cool bc i like the hurt / comfort parts of it. stereotypical beta doesn’t feel good enough bc they’re not an omega yada yada yada. another overlooked part though, is the alpha sitting there in shame as they realize they can’t help comfort their beta partner over this bc they’re an alpha; top of the food chain without worry, they’d never experienced that type of feeling of not belonging.

ok but also: submissive and timid alphas and more dominant and powerful omegas bc cut the bullshit. this au was made for and centred around sex, but it’s some of the best world creation i’ve seen tbh.

but i like to mess with it more. for example, why aren’t beta’s more openly discriminated by both alphas & omegas? i get most aus state that omegas are the rarest, but also what if betas were lower down regardless? that’s always made more sense in my head when you think of how beta’s are regular folk and offer nothing “special” compared to alphas and omegas. their reproductive systems are those of humans usually (again, depends on the au) and they don’t go through cycles. with how important both alphas and omegas are said to be for society, it would automatically place betas on the bottom.

i get that this au can also be commentary on sexism, misogyny, etc. but bc it’s also fiction, i just have never seen something like beta hierarchy placenta that talked about. usually when the betas are placed lower, the story is mainly about an alpha x omega pairing anyways.

idk if i explained much of this well; i’m spitballing here TwT but yeah!
