The difference between cultures and eating dinner is so wild, when I went to Germany to meet my friend and her Portuguese boyfriend we’d get home from a day out at around 7 and I’d be like “boy I sure did work up a major appetite today 🙂” and they just… wouldn’t feed me until any time between 10:30 and midnight??? And I snapped at one point like “guys I cannot get food myself from anywhere cos I don’t know the area and I don’t speak German why are you starving me 😭” and they straight-up didn’t understand that eating that late isn’t even remotely normal where I come from LMAO I wonder why this happens

Watching american shows and such when they are like "dinner is at 5:30 pm!" I am just shocked. It just doesnt compute to me. That is so early. Even around 7 pm is like a very early dinner to me. Its a "oh isnt dinner done early tonight" kind of thing.

At 5 pm we have what's called "lanche" which is when you drink a coffee (what should be your 3rd of the day) and usually have some toast, some bread with cheese, chorizo, ham and such and that would hold you until dinner time. Going for a little "lanche" is a very common thing, you just go to a cage and have a bite to eat that will fill you up until dinner.

Most local restaurants won't be open earlier than 7:30 pm most of the time and if you are like eating with friends or family at someone's house dinner goes well into 2 am, between the coffee and the little bottles of alcohol that come out for everyone to try, dessert and then cheeses and meat and shit. It's a whole affair.

This also means our bedtimes are later (from 22h to midnight) and we still have a thing called "ceia" which is usually the glass of milk and a little cookie or something sweet you'll eat before bed.

Although the 10:30 to midnight serving dinner time is a little late for my taste unless you are already having dinner by then. Unless it's a lighter dinner. Maybe its bread cultures since it was in germany? 🤔 bread does make you very full and dinner aint happening after eating one in the middle of the afternoon.

Adding my two cents to this because why not!

In terms of portuguese dialects i think Twilight would definitely speak a rustic Alentejano dialect (south of Portugal)! But it would be fun to hear him speak brasilian portuguese as well!

I would love to see a mix of romance languages for Wild and especially for Warriors! Maybe they speak something like Interlingua, a fusion of Spanish, French and English.

If Sky speaks a basal form of latin then First (the hero from the non canon manga) might speak something like an ancient greek or etruscan dialect!

Now I'm curious, since you made a post about spanish speaking Wind, do you have any other language headcannons for the rest of the boy? I personally believe that out of everyone, Legend would know the most languages due to his numerous quests! ♡

I do like the whole different languages thing since obviously hylian must’ve changed between eras/timelines

Now romance languages like Spanish, Portuguese and Italian are pretty similar in the sense that

If you speak slowly in Spanish with someone who speaks slowly in Portuguese back, u actually can understand each other

Italian is a lil more different, but when I visited Italy years ago I would talk in Spanish with locals and they would reply in Italian and we could work stuff out lol

Anyway, similar languages u can kinda understand each with sounds like a funny way to have everyone interact at first

Downfall timeline's hylian is like italian

Child timeline's hylian is like portuguese

Adult timeline's hylian is like spanish

And sky's + four's hylian being like Latin the source of all the romance languages fit lol

Wild who's a mixture of all timelines would speak the most chaotic and most different romance language......French (lmao)

Anyway this is just my headcanon of course, I also like to think they all eventually ate that one nut from the minish cap games that let's u understand the minish's language

I reckon it could work to understand different types of hylian lol

Da última vez que teci fiz uma amostra de um "montanhac" alentejano; desta vez estou a tecer um padrão tradicional vinhaense. Encontrei-o no livro "Tipologias de Tecelagem de Vinhais", que está disponível para download digital gratuito no site da Saber Fazer.

Last time I wove I made a swatch of an alentejano "montanhac"; this time I'm weaving a traditional vinhaense pattern. I found it in "Tipologias de Tecelagem de Vinhais", which is available for free digital download on the Saber Fazer website.

Nas imagens abaixo podem ver o padrão "Blocos" no que antes era uma manta mas agora é um fato de careto.

In the pictures below you can see the "Blocos" pattern on what used to be a blanket but is now a careto costume.

O tecido de base é suposto ser um tafetá, mas como eu tenho um tear de tapeçaria que tem entalhes fixos decidi tentar tecer um "meio encanastrado", isto é, um tecido que segue a lógica do tafetá mas em que há duas tramas para cada fio da teia. A segunda cor, que é a que cria o padrão, é um fio com mais ou menos o dobro do diâmetro do fio de base, o que dispensa a dupla passagem que o outro fio necessita por causa da sua finura.

The base fabric is supposed to be plain weave, but since I have a tapestry loom which has fixed notches I've decided to try weaving a "half basketweave", that is, a fabric that follows the same logic as plain weave but in which there are two wefts for every warp thread. For the contrast colour, which actually creates the pattern, I'm using a yarn with about double the diametre of the base yarn, which spares me doing the double pass the base yarn requires due to its fineness.

Rafeiro Alentejano is a Portuguese breed of flock guardian dog. They were bred to protect farms and still do to this day. Among the marked economic and social changes in Portugal in the 1970s was the large-scale movement of people from rural areas to towns and cities, one consequence of which was an abrupt and significant decrease in pastoral farming. Flock guardian dogs were no longer needed, and numbers of the Rafeiro fell sharply, to the point that by the early 1980s it was close to extinction, with only a few dogs remaining in the hands of a small group of breeders, but was revived. A dog of this breed named Bobi was dubbed by Guinness World Records to be both the oldest living dog and the oldest dog ever, with a claimed age of 30 years and 226 days on 1 February 2023. He died at the claimed age of 31 years and 165 days on 21 October 2023. Doubts about the claims were expressed by veterinary surgeons, and Guinness opened an investigation; it found insufficient evidence of the age of the dog, and the records were annulled. They’re more active at night, but not necessarily nocturnal.

Vir da terra

Houve um tempo, bem antes de ter carro, em que voltava da aldeia no Domingo à noite carregadíssimo: algumas refeições de comida caseira, ovos da criação doméstica, um frango caseiro para ter no congelador, um bom pão alentejano, mais alguns produtos da horta de que o meu pai cuidava (sobretudo batatas, que saudades daquelas batatas), ocasionalmente uns enchidos se estivéssemos nas épocas de matanças de porcos lá na região. Em resumo, eram uns belos sacos para carregar pelas escadas íngremes do Intercidades, e para arrastar pelas ruas de Lisboa no caminho da estação até casa. Não me queixo, porém: valia sempre a pena o esforço.

Algumas coisas já não há: a horta acabou porque a saúde faltou, os frangos também vão escasseando, e os enchidos de produções caseiras locais deram lugar a outros de Monchique (que sendo bons, não são bem a mesma coisa; desta vez não trouxe pois ainda estou abastecido). O pão arranja-se, claro - no dia em que não houver pão no Alentejo, não haverá Alentejo -, mas já não é da minha aldeia. Dito isto, os ovos ainda vêm das nossas galinhas, a comida da minha mãe continua a ser tão boa como sempre foi, e os biscoitos, enfim, são uma perdição. É aproveitar e dar valor enquanto há.

Quero fazer sexo preguiçoso a meio da tarde porque sim.

Esquecer-me se é dia da semana ou já é fim de semana porque o tempo perdeu a dimensão citadina.

Gostava de pintar outra vez, e desenhar, e escrever, apenas pelo prazer de o fazer.

Sem haver um fim comercial de tudo o que faço desde que acordo até que durmo.

Another month, another fle- WAIT A SECOND! This isnt the usual monthly flea market visit!?

Well, i went to the one in Estremoz today with my family (and Misha XD). I always try to go to this one when i come to Alentejo and i found some cool stuff.

The lil doggos were adorable and by the end of my visit someone was already buying them all XD The bikes were also the perfect size for the dollies. I really like the details on these :D

The mini barber chairs and old sewing machines!!!! I love these so much, but they were a fortuneeeee, so rip me i had to pass. And like always, i had to go look for the small capotes alentejanos :D i did end up buying 4 of the smaller ones!

Misha cant wait for us to show you our haul! And now, after i make the usual adjustments, she and the other dollies have more winter coats! :D
