I started listening to this album shortly after breaking up with someone *and* attending the Eras Tour. “Down Bad” is such an accurate representation of what I went through from being heaven struck by a man who told me I was special to the eventual, brutal abandonment and the never-ending heartbreak and the constant feeling of missing that special place we had. Sometimes I can’t even believe it was real.

The metaphor in 'Down Bad' is that I was comparing the idea of being love bombed, where someone rocks your world and dazzles you and then just kind of abandons you as a alien obduction where you were abducted by aliens, like, this girl is abducted by aliens, but she wanted to stay with them.. and when they drop her off back in her hometown she said 'wait, no, where are you going? I liked it there. It was weird, but it was cool, come back..' and so the girl, the character in the song, felt like, I've just been exposed to a whole different galaxy and universe I didn't know was possible. How can you just put me back where I was before?''

finally had time to listen to the new conan album and i CRIED when listening to found heaven bc i was thinking about nico

LITERALLY SAME i heard it and was like SHIT (i had been just *slightly* worried bc the singles were very much not conan’s usual style-not that i disliked them, they just weren’t what i envisioned for nico) but then THIS.

it’s actually still my favorite track on the album he SLAYED. i think it was a bit of a grower for me but ive been listening to it on repeat lately it’s so good😭😭

just to give you a more articulate vision,

I went through the album from start to finish, I was fasinated by Perverts, then listened to punish and housofapsychoticwomn. (I had heard these last two before.) I LOVED vacillator. which was painful to me because once again I was witnessing my shame in an observant view separate and outside of myself, and saw how innocent it was? and the fact that I “Loved” the song about “my shame” which is essentially the Lack of Love… it felt tragic. Then I continued my journey through, Onanist was a sorrowful, grieving-like lullaby..

and then, I reached Pulldrone.

and I’m guessing what I experienced with that song was what Hayden herself had talked about, as The Ring and The Pull you feel towards it. upon listening to her reciting the 9th pillar, I was present in my body and listening to the song, but at the same time, I was reaching some place in my psyche which I had never reached before. I was taking in, seeing myself, and for one moment, I felt “Whole” and then it was The Sigh that came over me… like a wave and handed me to the shore of The Divine Theater as she calls it. (maybe I am biased but her analogy was the perfect metaphor for what I went through.)

Etienne and Thatorchia were songs that I was listening to with an overwhelmed body and soul and an overstimulated mind. I was hyperaware. all the visions I saw had deeper shades of color, more saturated than ever.

and Amber Waves was the coming down part. a return to the dark side of The Veil. And it didn’t feel unpleasant. because after the journey, it just felt right to go back to the daily, but as an elevated version of myself.

that hyperawareness, seeing all there was, of time and space and feelings and thoughts was like Heaven to me. (not heaven by the definition of religions. my own personal Heaven.) Because it was So Much, yet I felt at peace and ease with myself and even with All the horrors I carry as normal-amount (or maybe more) traumatized person.

overall, I’ll never be the same person as I was before listening to this record.

Having a 4 month gap between a lead single and an album is one of the stupidest moves an artist can do. It is never smart to drag a roll out like this. I'm surprised Niall haven't learned a thing from his 2nd era. He released NTMY in October of 2019 and his album came out in March of 2020. That's 5 months in between. It doesn't matter he announced the album just 5 weeks before the album came out or not. The overall era was lengthy and never ending. In between he also released multiple singles and did so much promo and his own social media livestreams. By the time the album came out everyone was fed up with him.

This era is going down that same rabbit hole. He has so many festivals lined up, The Voice, different radio and tv promo and on top of that he himself is self promoting him on TikTok and IG. And for an artist who doesn't have a nice personality *he always comes off as arrogant and narcissistic* it is not a good move to expose his nasty side to the fans and the gp. That is what happened during his 2nd era. Everyone saw his beggar man side and his narcissistic side cause the roll out for the era was a drag.

So God help his fans if this single doesn't do well on the charts. If not he will be relentless for the next 17 weeks yelling at them to get his songs "up the charts" like in 2019.

Well, the haranguing will probably start soon, because Heaven has been out for eight hours here and it's only at #24 on the UK iTunes. Nice to Meet Ya went to #1 for the first day or so. Heaven is #54 on US iTunes.
