"what?" they stared at their father after their latest meeting, not understanding the sudden shift as soon as some of their partners finally left. "you cannot really be mad that i acted respectless? they were going to screw us over, dad."

"were you aware that your little princess of a daughter thinks that she's part of some other tiure crime family? because i think they've gone fucking nuts, dad." alani didn't know there were any other tiures around, so hearing it from myri was enough to throw them off like crazy. "have you heard of any other tiures in the city?"

"just because you've done your job doesn't mean that people should be allowed to disrespect you, dad. they disrespect you, they disrespect the whole family." sure, she knew their father was a fucking crime lord, he was a villain even back home. but he was still their father. "i'll stop coming to meetings if you think that'll be easier. i don't think i was born with the ability to bite my kriffing tongue."

a sigh left his lips. while he was happy that his kids wanted to defend his name, the reality was there was nothing to defend. he was the worst of the worst. all the horrendous things done in the family's name was on his hands and he needed to be able to carry that and shield everyone from it. even ziva. "i know---but there was plenty of people who are going to speak ill of me, alani. especially when i've been a pawn in ruining people's lives. it doesn't bother me if they think i'm scum." it only mattered if they spoke ill of his kids.

alani wanted to protest, to immediately comment on if ziva would be given the same lecture if she made that decision.. sure, they all knew ziva was next in line, but shouldn't they all be trained in the same decision makings, just in case? but she could hear the frustration in their father's voice and didn't press, arms folding over their chest and leaning back into the chair with a huff. "fine. i'm sorry i threatened to shoot them for being pricks." they added. "it means something to me. to hear people talk down to you. but i'll bite my tongue next time, dad, lesson learned."

"that would have been a choice for me to make, alani." there was a small sense of frustration to his voice. if it had been a true disrespect to his kids or betrayal he would have had them killed instantly. they would not have left this building breathing. but sometimes they had to grit their teeth and take attitude on the chin. "they can say what they want about me. it means nothing. they'll eat their words eventually."

"i trust you to make the right decision. whatever you think is best, you know i'll follow. i just appreciate that you are trusting my judgement on this." she explained, knowing how heavy this choice would weigh on all of them, how angry she was sure myri would be once they awoke again. "it's a high cost but she's worth that price." it was probably the nicest thing she would say about myri, knowing that a compliment about them was rare to say the least. "good. the sooner the better."

jabba didn't exactly want to admit that alani had a point; not just any point, a good point about it. if there was absolutely zero way they could convince myri into regaining her memories? well, desperate times would have to call for desperate measures. whatever came from it they would have to deal with later. "i think i can arrange for zash to make it quick, not messy." at least he hoped it wouldn't be messy. less for myri to potentially be upset about later. "of course i want her back. it is just a high cost and we have to be okay with that. but i'll make a call to zash. we'll get it moving."

"if they're going to come back to life and be normal, i think the best solution is taking them out. it'll be fast." sure, alani wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of talking about this idea.. as much as she and myri argued and butted heads, the last thing she actually wanted was for them to be harmed. but it was more dangerous to leave them in this situation than it was to just take care of them. though, the comment about ziva just having to deal does bring a bit of a smirk to alani's face. she was the golden child, so hearing anything that wasn't immediate praise for her was a nice change of pace. "i'll tell her that then. i think it's better to just go forward with it, zash should be quick, shouldn't he?" alani paused.. "i don't see it as something we have to live with, we're helping her. it's what family does, father. you want her back as badly as we do, so we might as well do it and not look back."

"i haven't found any other solution, but hey if you find one feel free to let me know." really jabba didn't want to fight with his children. but they were caught between a rock and a hard place. there was no good, mess free way of dealing with this and he wanted alani to be fully anywhere. "whatever we do ziva is just going to have to accept it. if we want myri back we may have to take drastic measures. i highly doubt someone could talk reason in to them." he mused out loud to both himself and alani. "i could. but it's something we would all know is happening as we all have to live with the choice we make."

"they're lucky they were allowed to even leave the table, dad." alani shot back, slouching back in their chair as they crossed her arms over her chest. she knew he was right, that they should have kept some kind of composure during all of this, but hey, they didn't pull a damn gun on them once they started to turn. "how am i supposed to not snap at them when they were the ones acting disrespectful towards you and our family?"

a chuckle left his lips as he looked over at his daughter. "i'm not mad," he prefaced as he shifted in his seat. "merely disappointed. even if they planned to screw us over---we need to have more tact with how we approach it, alani. we gain nothing going in with all our emotions out on the table."

"great. so kriffing great." alani hated the idea that this was completely out of their control. she never did well with that, with letting go of something and letting luck or fate or whatever the fuck you wanted to call it take over. "so, what? we either just hope for the kriffing best that luck will be on our side, or kill myri? that's it?" they didn't like either option, and hearing her father confirm that idea to her, it made it harder to say yes, but, what other options did they have? "i don't want her to continue living in someone else's family. we don't know if they're safe there.. but don't do it without asking ziva first. she'll kill me if she hates the idea and we go through with it." alani added, shrugging. "can't you just tell zash to make it quick? he's gotta listen to you, do it so they don't even have time to notice."

"it's just something that fucking happens." he was going to use the exact wordage right back at alani. this whole thing had become more complicated than it needed to be. why couldn't all his kids just come with all their memories? now it was messy. "luck. you kids jogged my memories." he admitted as he looked down. he hated to admit it, but maybe sending zash to kill myri might be the fastest way to clean this all up. "so you are just okay with him killing your sister? i highly doubt it's going to be pain free."

"this is.. this is something that just fucking happens?" great, just great. alani couldn't help but worry they'd be one of the people who ended up getting sucked into that trap, though they weren't exactly sure how any of it worked... they let their father explain, and she paused. "how'd you get your memories back?" because if dying was the only method... regardless of the outward comments she might make, the last thing she wanted was to actually see something happen to myri. "so, get your little bodyguard to do it. make him actually earn his keep, smacking some sense into the princess."

"no, it's not normal. but it's not uncommon here either." jabba let out a sigh. the last thing he wanted to do was sit here and explain to his kids the things that happened before their arrival. "for three years i was here, no idea of who i really was. no idea who any of you were. there is nothing we could do short of slapping sense into them. or killing them. i'm not going to have my kid's blood on my hands." that was his stance and he would stick to it.

"so what? we're supposed to just ignore the shit they're pulling, and let them continue to walk around thinking they're part of some other family? it's not normal, to just have your memories replaced completely, dad." there had to be someone around here who knew how this all worked, and their father had been in the city far longer than any of them.. he had to know something. "i doubt there's just some random other family we've never heard of running around starting their own fucking mob, dad. if there's some rival fucking crew that your kid is a part of? that's gonna look bad on us."

a sigh left his lips as he looked up at alani. "yes, i'm aware. but so far there has nothing that i can do about it." it wasn't like he could just snap his fingers and make his daughter realize they were all family. "i have not. so unless there is extended family here that we are not aware of i'm not sure who's family she thinks she belongs to."
