Obsessed with the concept of Alex Casey though.

You're a detective with a lot of regrets. You have a hard job, you've seen a lot of terrible things, and it's probably what ruined your marriage. You're deeply depressed.

And then some parautilitarian who sees visions but mistakes them for his own original ideas sees visions of your life and decides to write a bunch of pulpy, corny detective novels starring you, outlining every regret you have, your broken marriage, your depression, all through the filter of the most pretentious, over-the-top dialogue ever. And then those books get famous.

And now you have to deal with people constantly meeting you and going, "Oh, Alex Casey. Like the detective from Alan Wake's novels?" but you were Alex Casey first!! The only reason that Alex Casey is Alex Casey is because of you! But the author doesn't even realize it. He thinks he can just put all your regrets, your broken marriage, your demons, your self-hatred out there on the page because he never thought you were real.

And to top it off, he's not even that good of a writer!!
