Lol nah, he's a grad student and a student warden, he's too busy to just lay in bed doing nothing. Especially since wardens are most active/on patrol at night. Since Lars never sleeps, it's common for him to take the past-midnight late shifts. It's also common to find him passed out at his desk, or somewhere not his bed.
