It's looking... rough so far, but it's early footage and early stages. An as you point out, recent movie adaptions of games have been decent so there's hope.

Now I wonder what are the chances this movie would lead to Sony investing into a new Gravity Rush game. Seems a bit odd to be making a movie of a game series with no games in development for it.

As one of the only people I (confidently) know who likes Gravity Rush, my ask for you is this; Did you know that a Gravity Rush live action movie is being made?

I believe a short 15 second test footage and behind the scenes comments popped up regarding it recently.

I'm usually not a fan of live action adaptations (and gravity rush would be really hard to pull off) but lately there have been some good adaptations, so maybe it will come out nice!

So, been thinking about the Rulers of the Moon AU, even have finally gotten to a point where I am starting to write the first chapter as I've figured out how I want to handle the first few weeks, and thinking about what to do after the Extella section of the story, had the idea of the gang (Hakuno, Rin, Rani, and Shirano aka the Hakuno from Earth) starting to recruit other masters from either potential masters coming to the Moon from Earth, as we're told at the end of Extella that humanity is starting to migrate to SE.RA.PH, or AI and NPCs that are starting to become human, as it's also been mentioned that if an NPC embraces their humanity and gathers enough resources can become AIs and both can become Masters of servants so long as they meet certain requirements, and one of the first people I thought of is EX!Shirou aka E!Rin's Uncle because of the shenanigans that would insue.

Big news! Thanks to the great @akilice we got a bit of a proper Dreadkuno reference! All that's missing is the hood and cloak, but this is pretty damn accurate to my vision of her! Even the butterfly/moth mask was included here.

Unmaking the Heart of the World (Grisha Trilogy, 116k+, Darklina, Nikolina, Zoyalina, ongoing) This is my time loop fic that is basically every opinion I’ve ever had about this series combined. It also laces in more general concepts I’ve thought about and wanted to try to work into a story for awhile— chiefly the meta aspect of time loops, time travel, and reincarnation tropes and how that can be an interesting way to engage with themes of grief and denial.

I think the sheer length sets it apart from my other fic because I don’t usually get to structure and develop a narrative in the same way in fanfic.

These Truths That Shape Us (Hellsing, 3k, gen) I like this one for the horror elements. It’s part of an informal collection of “sins of the father” stories, that’s mostly about Integra reckoning with her family, her legacy, her own sense of identity and values within that context, and how that ultimately defines her relationship with Alucard. This one specifically tries to bridge the gap a bit between Dracula, and Hellsing as disparate stories.

Ever Ancient, Ever New (The Locked Tomb, 3k, Dios Apate) I’m proud of this one because the style is so different from how I usually write. On the theme of false forgiveness, the premise is that Augustine decided to forgive John at the end of HTN and that John eventually forgives Mercymorn, and his way of doing so is resurrecting her again, but deliberately flawed and without any of her memories. It’s all from Augustine’s POV who genuinely loves and hates them both, and it’s my attempt at exploring how complicated and awful that group dynamic is.

The Scorched Sea (The Grisha Trilogy, 9k, Darknikolina) This is a role reversal AU. It was a really interesting challenge trying to preserve the characters while putting them in very different circumstances with different pasts. I like the character work in this mostly where it comes to Aleksander and how he might think and who he might be if he were younger and less powerful.

I have a lot of ancillary worldbuilding for this AU that I ever want to come back to.

Éminence Grise (The Grisha Trilogy, 37k, Darknikolina, ongoing) I struggled to pick a last one but I think this one wins out because it’s longer and occupies more space in my thoughts and so I favor it lmao. This started from a one off prompt I got on tumblr that spiraled out of control. It has more silliness and social hijinks than my average fic but is mostly concerned with all the manipulation that would be inherent to a longstanding relationship between Alina and Aleksander if he had been able to just keep lying to her the entire time and the amplifier plot never happened.

As a 999 enjoyer, what games would you recommand to me with a similar vibes?

There's several ways to go about this.

1. We go for games by the same staff, so other Kotaro Uchikoshi games, like the Infinity visual novels, World's End Club and AI: The Somnium Files. The latter is the easiest to get, it's just hanging there on Steam, but the infinity VNs from the early 2000s need to be pirated (patched versions).

2. We wouldn't have had 999 without Ever17, the second infinity visual novel. Now, effectively 999 is down one branch of the Y intersection, with the Science Adventure visual novels (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head Noah, Robotics;Notes etc) down the other. They have some shared themes and concepts, staff members have worked with Uchikoshi in the past. They're also really really good and I love them dearly.

3. We go for things that share genre aspects, premise or medium usage aspects. Danganronpa, is an obvious one but we don't care about that. You want something with a bit more oomph, where the medium can really come out to play and the game is actually fun to replay. Where you can go 'oh shit i didnt notice that'. This is part of 999's important vibes and that's something Danganronpa lacks.

So I'd recommend Buried Stars, Daedalus, The World Ends With You, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Amarantus.

I should link trailers and things but i am very tired. Check Amarantus though, it's super indie and like $10.

So I was talking with @akilice about this earlier but thinking about it again made me realize just how many romances and romantic interests Hakuno has despite being a 17-year-old girl NPC turn human who has only been 'alive' for 4-6 months, depending on how long you want to say the timeskip between Extella and Extella Link was. For romances, we have: Rin, Rani, Sakura, BB, Nero, Tamamo, and Altera (Body!Hakuno only atm. Still on the fence for regular Hakuno because of some of the dialogues we got with Altera interacting with Nero and Tamamo while at the base in Extella Link). I know some people may say Nameless and Gilgamesh also count but they are less upfront about it with Gil and, with Nameless, I can't fully say as I've never played through Extra with Nameless, and when I did for CCC it was the Sakura Route so wasn't paying too much attention to him. As for romantic interests/characters I think would have romantic interests in Hakuno: Medusa, Elizabeth, Julius, Leo, Jeanne, Scathach, and Drake. I know this listing may be a bit more controversial with a few people on it but it's what I've picked up throughout playing the games. tl;dr, for a girl that has, at most, half a year of living to her name, Hakuno's game is strong.

AGH HI ok so crypter rin most likely comes from something like archer's timeline, though i'm not super sure about the specifics yet, but her lostbelt is about her self-isolation and manifests as the desert shirou lost himself in bc that's what she feels like she needs/deserves for her part in her war as well as forsaking humanity as a crypter.

again, i'm still brainstorming the specifics, but my thought is that the desert itself exists at a high altitude with thin air, but it's scattered with hidden pitfalls that take you far underground to what would be sea level. possibly (our) ereshkigalter as the lostbelt king, but still nothing's anywhere near set in stone.

and sétanta is the current pick for her servant! i need to flesh out their relationship a little more but rin has chronic big sister disease no matter what universe she's in and they'd have a cute dynamic. still working in lostbelt servants, but as for PHH servants i REALLY am leaning towards assassin emiya as a late reveal

What do you think Crypter Rin's Lostbelt would be? And maybe this AU could be one where Ritsuka summons Hakuno as a servant or something
