If the Bengals' play against these Patriots is anything like how they play in Kansas City, then next Sunday may be one of the most embarrassing days for the franchise since the days of Akili Smith or even Dave Shula. Like I know they're bad in openers even in their good seasons, but this feels like a REALLY bad sign!
#nfl#nfl football#bengals#cincinnati bengals#patriots#new england patriots#i thought going in that this season would be either a deep run or potentially the beginning of the end#and uhhhh yeah this did not give many signs that it'd be the former i'll say that much#at least i still have the lions (hopefully)#and thanks to isaiah likely's toe at least we're not alone in last in the north! (fuck you atlanta for giving pittsburgh hope again)#i don't say this often but go cowboys! win the fraud bowl and slow our bleeding!#sorta sports

Alpha Centurion War: The Battle of the Milky Way Galaxy and the Battle of the Andromeda Galaxy:
Several years later Crimson Chimera or Cardinel Changeling (Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith) had set up multiple holographic 4d gaming consoles for the Elites (imagine the Teen Titans, Young Justice League, & Legion of Superheroes) and Paragons (imagine the Justice League, the Justice Society of Superheroes, & Doom Patrol combined) members to play. Alexander/Alexandria is also known as the Blue Basilisk, Cardinal Changeling, Crimson Chimera, Emerald Eagle, Firebrick Fire Fox, Golden Griffin, Harlequin Hippogriff, Jade Jaguar, Kobi Kitsune, Scarlet Shapeshifter, Silver Sword Shark, & White War Werewolf. Even with the groups generally quiet other than the alternating yells and shouts the rooms were filled with noises that flowed from the video games that are played on the many holographic game systems. Consequently the opening of the entry ways went totally ignored apart from for the minor jerk of Cardinal Changeling’s sensitive ears. It was more difficult to disregard the beauties that spun over the sofa to accommodate themselves pretty comfortably in Crimson Chimera’s lap their eyes interrupting his/her/their alert stare. Sapphire eyes went wide as they pressed close to him/her/them tracing their fingers along his/her/their jaw while their hands knotted themselves in his/her/their ebony or charcoal hair. The controller began to rumble as Emerald Eagle’s character was shot dead by plasma hard light fire in the first person shooting game but his/her/their concentration was utterly keen to the women who affixed him/her/them with demanding stares. There were minor sulks to their plump lips as sapphire eyes engrossed on them excitedly as they started to shape words. They wooed, “Alexander Smith/Alexandria Smith why do you squander your time with this juvenile entertainment, certainly we can recommend you a much more enjoyable amusement to participate?” He/she/they licked his/her/their lips as his/her/their shadowy stare turned voracious asked, “Oh yeah?” They all grinned idly up at him/her/them as they circled their arms around his/her/their collar and let themselves slide against his/her/their body the rubbing between them sending his/her/their psyche wobbling as their chins came to relax upon his/her/their upper body. They said, “Oh yeah with so many buttons to press and also its online multiplayer with eight or more players,” said his/her/their wives Empress Kulax Kojir, Queen Tahliah Macar (of a country in Europe), Joanna Jacobson, Queen Adriana Acosta (a Catholic Hispanic woman of color who is queen of a country in South America), Empress Iesloria, Empress Breapru, Empress Hleor the Devil Killer, Empress Ohoi Nessars, Queen Diona Artemis Megalos of Greek Mount Olympus (daughter of Ares and Athena), Queen Loran the Godslayer, Queen Carina Akili Ragorio of Roman Mount Olympus (daughter of Mars and Venus), Sultan Nijah Nadra Nadar (a Muslim Middle Eastern woman of color of a country in Southwest Asia), Chieftain and Warchief Ylva Helga Olofsdottir of the Aesir Valkyries (High Queen of the clans of Norway, Denmark, & Scandinavia), Queen Hokulani Kaimana Keali’i (a Chinese and American mixed woman of color Polynesian Hawaiian and Samoan Indigenous Pasifika mixed Atlantean hybrid who rules one of the 9 kingdoms of the empire of Atlantis), Hibiki Hayashi (a Buddhist East Asian Japanese woman of color and Okinawan Indigenous woman who is a fire, lava, & magma elemental), Veronica Veracruz (a Catholic Latinx woman of color who is a water, ice, snow, & frost elemental), & Rashida Bello a Black African woman of color who is queen of a nation in Africa). “That sounds rather enjoyable to be honest,” he/she/they breathed heavily. The controller for the holographic game laid on the sofa disregarded together with a lot of his/her/their environment as his/her/their hands perched on Diona Megalos’s and Kulax’s hips as several people perceived the enlargement of his/her/their razor sharp claws into talons and witnessed some of his/her/their teeth became fangs and canines. It only appeared to stimulate his/her/their lovers Scir'uil, Kir'els, Litux, Melmih, Falder, & Ollas more as their smirks became wider. Their hands glided down from his/her/their neckline to their collar bone & then down to his/her/their torso. Nevertheless maintaining some consciousness of their environment they looked at the gaping teens and enthusiastic young adults & the confused adults before they whispered to their latest suitor, “It is but we are afraid there is an age restriction of twenty one and over.” “We’re afraid we’ll have to go someplace else to fool around.” He/she/they exploded to his/her/their clawed feet with opposable thumbs and enclosed an arm around the slim midsections of Tahliah Macar and Joanna Jacobson as they both gave a thrilled snort and enveloped their legs around his/her/their waist, securing themselves. Apparently unaffected by the extra burden arched using his/her/their prehensile tail and supernatural flexibility and flipped themselves over the sofa using a quadruple flip like an acrobat worthy of the Flying Graysons and raced out the exit as Hleor, Loran, Scir'uil, Kir'els, Litux, Melmih, Falder, & Ollas flew or ran after them giving each a hooting giggle. Reaching Crimson Changeling’s room first Firebrick Falcon (Jacob Fujioka an Asian person of color) and his partners who were fellow superheroes Chonirs or Charles Lucas Owen Jones (an alien/demigod/magical human hybrid created by Eclipse in a lab from alternate earth version who is the adopted child of Laurissa Owen Maximiliana Jones from another earth), Rebecca Worth, Carolina Steel a demigod, Samantha Cook, & Tabatha Grant a Black Woman of color all stopped to eavesdrop in to verify that they were there they told themselves and they caught the noises of many satisfied feminine moans and an androgynous snigger. Velvety murmurs passed between them and the bed sheets crunched and the bed whined before there were several feminine moans. The three of them flushed crimson and all three of them gave diminutive awkward hops backwards and gave fairly pathetic thumps on the entrance. It was sufficient for them and the noises made by the Cal King size bed stopped though there was a petite whisper followed by a genderless groan from Golden Griffon. “I get that you all are trying with the entire antihero thing but please put the electro steel whip, plasma hard light swords, & the spiked power fists away okay I got this.” There was a grumble followed by severe footsteps across the rug and the entrance was ripped open just sufficient enough to permit a now hard crimson eye, “Firebrick Falcon and Co you are my favorite polyamorous sort of unicorn quad poly couple but weirdly not the only ones I know, but if you do not go away now you will be pulling needles from a giant alien porcupine out of your sorry asses for the next three months, you got that.” “Oh yeah we completely get it, but we were contemplating if we would maybe grab some money for… you know,” they said nervously giving a feeble grin, whispering into his/her/their ear. The stare become softer and a smirk began to pull at the bend of Firebrick Fox’s mouth. “Oh, oh, that is completely okay, give me a moment though.” He/she/they gave them a credit card with so much credit, coin, or dollars on it since he/her/their team was backed by an intergalactic corporation meant to rival Wayne Enterprises, Mercer Corp, Queen Consolidated, Logan Enterprises, Stark Industries, Luthor Corp, & Dayton Industries combined. “Got it, is there something else, or are we good to go?” His/her/their mouth opened to propose a answer when he/she/they were abruptly pulled back into the gloomy room and Joanna Jacobson’s, Adriana Acosta’s, Iesloria’s, Breapru’s, Hleor’s, Nessar’s, Diona Artemis Megalos’s, Loran’s, Hibiki Hayashi’s, Veronica Veracruz’s, Nijah Nadra Nadar’s, Carina Akili Ragorio’s, & Rashida Bello’s visages materialized for a moment as they hissed, snarled, & growled, “You’re good, now go away.” The barrier quaked as they slammed the access shut. “I slept with Hleor, Loran, Scir'uil, Kir'els, Litux, Melmih, Falder, & Ollas for a few days with my supernatural stamina and endurance.”
Hleor the Devilkiller (wearing panties, her plaid flannel, & his/her/their size Men’s large t-shirt that had the superhero crest of Crimson Changeling) tilted her body forward abruptly experiencing an anxious tremble in her torso. She was tranquil so what was this anxious emotion. Shoving the symbolic butterflies out of her mind she breathed in through her nose to keep herself firm. The scented cologne of her consort and lover filled her mind. It was a dampened forest or jungle fragrance. It was truly quite pleasant. Crimson Chimera or Cardinal Changeling’s heart was zooming in his/her/their chest and his/her/their palms were clammy. Not that you could discover that thanks to the fingerless black and red combat gloves he/she/they always wore but he/she/they were anxious. With a deep gasp for good fortune he/she/they leaned closer to the half alien titan/half greco roman goddess and breathed in her lavender aroma. Their noses caressed touching each other for a concise instant before one head tilted left and the other slanted right. Lips coupled soft, hesitant, supple, & motionless. Gradually Crimson Chimera or Cardinal Changeling positioned his/her/their right clawed hand on Hleor’s cheek. His/her/their opposable clawed thumb was stroking gently across her skin. His/her/their left clawed hand that was still on her knee rose up her thigh. It followed the trail of her leg up to her hip twisting around to the small of her back. With care he/she/they pulled against her against himself/her/themselves and started to move the kiss. With their lips partaking in what appeared like a dance Hleor was at ease. She felt contented all of a sudden and pushed into Cardinal Changeling. She opened her hand up as she felt the solidity of the shapeshifter’s, metamorph, & or changeling’s torso. He/she/they were really muscular from his/her/their work as an Elites and Paragons ember. He/she/they were not buff fit but lean and toned fit in a gorgeous way. Goosebumps popped up her limbs as she sensed his/her/their clawed hand on the back of her collar. Yearning to feel closer to him/her/them she slid both hands up Crimson Chimera’s trunk. One arm draped near the back of his/her/their collar and the other slid into his/her/their long supple black hair. She gaped at its touch as she enfolded it around her fingers. This came logically to them how they matched mutually and reacted to each other’s contact. There was nothing embarrassing or uncomfortable. There was nothing for them to feel worried about. So they just did what they sensed was correct. It definitely felt marvelous. Feeling a bit more daring Hleor carefully parted her lips and reacting almost as if second nature. Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith slid his/her/their tongue beside hers. She let out a little pant eyes opening for a moment before closing once more. Their tongues enveloped around each other. They were sharing saliva as if they had done it a billion times before. Alex Smith/Lexi Smith tousled his/her/their fingers within the thick, long, black locks of his/her/their partner as he/she/they detached his/her/their lips from hers and positioned them on her cheek. Panting deeply he/she/they pecked small kisses along her cheek and down her jaw. He/she/they were trying to recuperate his/her/their breath back. In reply Hleor slanted her head to the side revealing her slim neck. Bursting with unadulterated impulse he/she/they kissed her collar to the curve of it. There he/she/they gave a diminutive pinch which she gave off a minute pant as a response. Placing his/her/their lips around the minute mark he/she/they started to suck at the skin earning a few additional gasps and even a feminine whimper from his/her/their very tall consort, lover, & partner who is 7’1”. Smirking touching her skin he/she/they opened his/her/their eyes to idolize his/her/their creation. Hleor the Devilkiller at 7’1 is very tall compared to Cardinal Changeling at his/her/their unlocked male form at 5’11, his/her/their unlocked female form at 6’3” (their locked female form is 6’1”), his/her/their unlocked nonbinary form at 6’5” (their locked nonbinary form is 6’3”), & his/her/their unlocked genderfluid form at 6’8” (their locked genderfluid form is 6’5”). Swiftly two hands were on his/her/their cheeks clutching both sides of his/her/their face. He/she/they were tugged to be parallel with Hleor’s crimson blazing eyes. For a momentary moment he/she/they very worried that he/she/they had pushed too much. But that idea was scattered once her lips were crashed back into his/her/theirs drawing out a feminine moan from him/her/them since were now in his/her/their 6’3 female form. This kiss was more intense and more passionate. The two of them fought for supremacy. Her tongue knotted with his/hers/theirs. Her fingers were sinking into his/her/their scalp. His/her/their clawed hands tangled into her hair. Both of their panting was intense though their noses. The passion and the yearning were in the atmosphere. Any creature would have been capable of smelling it. His/her/their canines DD (an alien wolf), White Fang (a hellhound), & Dogmeat (a dire wolf) certainly did. Running her hands down his/her/their collar Hleor tore at the neckline of Alexander’s/Alexandria’s red and white superhero outfit and red and black combat armor. He/she/they moaned as she exposed the terra cotta or beige skin of his/her/their collar and shoulder. The half Greco Roman goddess/half alien titaness ran her tongue, lips, & teeth down the changeling’s neckline. She tried to do to him/her/them what he/she/they had done to her prior. Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith gave a bottomless, throaty whine as his/her/their skull was forced to the side. How had it gotten so harsh and carnal? Then he/she/they then recognized they were fueling each other’s primordial, lustful, & animalistic passions. He/she/they had no issue with that at all. He/she/they basked in the sensation of her teeth in his/her/their skin. He/she/they were feeling the nip and recognizing she had broken skin essentially made him/her/them whimper a masculine groan as he/she/they were now in his/her/their 5’11 male form. Hleor could experience the rusty, temperate fluid that leaked from the bite mark she made. She cautiously she ran her tongue over the broken skin. Gulping his/her/their blood, was that a bizarre thing to do. He/she/they didn’t react unenthusiastically so she assumed it was satisfactory. Thinking back she recalls a piece of her skin being pulled into his/her/their mouth. Whatever he/she/they had done she enjoyed it and wanted to return the favor. Carefully she positioned her open lips against his/her/their collar and sucked in as she recalled him/her/them doing. This reaped an additional whine one she reasoned implied she was doing marvelously. She continued to suck and pinch at the mark until it was scarlet and faintly engorged. Once he/she/they realized Hleor had effectively given him/her/them a hickey Alexander/Alexandria dragged her face back against his/hers/theirs their engorged lips pushed jointly as their teeth smashed. He/she/they by no means wanted this instant to finish but unfortunately it would have to. With a grave spirit he/she/they slowed his/her/their attack on the crimson eyed and charcoal haired half Greco Roman goddess/half titaness mouth. She repaid an action of a cool down. Quickly they were back to where they started with tender delicate movements of their mouths touching each other. Just because they were slowing down did not signify they had to end. The noise of a door opening dragged the half goddess/half titan and the shapeshifter out of their make out session. He/she/they were both gasping deeply they both turned back to where the distracting sound occurred from. In the passion of their lip-locking the two had neglected to hear the door opening. Standing in the doorway of his/her/their bedroom with open mouths and wide eyes were his/her/their consorts and lovers. Crimson Changeling blinked slowly at his/her/their other partners and spouses holding in a breath as he/she/they scrutinized them examining him/her/them. His/her/their tresses were a clutter, disheveled, & tangled. His/her/their lips were puffy and aching. His/her/their lips and neck were evenly enveloped in the lipstick. His/her/their costume and combat armor was in tatters and destroyed to reveal the side of his/her/their collar and shoulder of his/her/their torso. Across the perfect terra cotta and beige skin were nibble marks, blood, & an incredibly enormous discoloration like hickey. Hleor was not as tense as her lover and consort but she comprehended she looked like a mess. Her locks was worse than Crimson Chimera’s as it was all knotted and disheveled everywhere, her neck was cluttered with bite marks, blood, & a solitary hickey rested on the skin of the curve of her neck (from Alexandria’s/Alexander’s teeth, canines, & fangs that can tear apart materials stronger than diamonds). “Next time Lexi/Alex wait for us,” said his/her/their wives and partners. “Lucky,” said his/her/their lovers. For some reason Kir’els, Litux, & Scir’uil all radiated a livid and covetous scent. But that couldn’t be right. The three of them weren’t interested in him/her/them at all. Scowling at the Hleor the three of them all made noises of contemplation and crossed their arms over their torsos. Litux, Scir’uil, Kir’els all fought the desire to stare at Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith with his/her/their appealing physique, in his/her/their 6’3” unlocked female form with a lean and toned stomach with terracotta and beige skin that flared into wide hips and her remarkable bust. Ever since their initial conference they had to acknowledge to themselves that he/she/they was extraordinarily gorgeous but also completely frightening even to an Apex who were World Killers on blue sun or red k steroids like them or an alien female immortal like her which was really saying something. He/she/they were absolutely frightening with his/her/their ivory and scarlet costume, intimidating with his/her/their threatening crimson and ebony combat armor, & menacing with his/her/their ruby and charcoal power armor. He/she/they were also utterly petrifying with his/her/their aggressive and cruel personality that he/she/they used to wipe out entire armies of super soldiers similar to Green, Yellow, Blue, Red, Indigo, Orange, Pink, Black, & White Lanterns combined to save Breapru. “It’s incredible that transcendent ascended devil lord and demon general Zer’us and Daron the alien God of Tyranny are both afraid of that superhuman and metahuman.” “With Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith they both have an inborn fear that is beyond their control.” “It has been a while Saturn since I gave you those claw marks on you face and it has been awhile Cronus since I gave you that sword slash on your chest with a titan slayer halberd spear.” “You already know the difference in power between us,” he/she/they said as he/she/they released part of his/her/their true power and both of them felt an immense pressure and they both shook in fear, “that is why I spared you.” “Cause Lori didn’t want me to murder her great grandfathers.” “However I warned you then that if you’d harm anyone again that I would kill you.” “Even if you would pay me a trillion dollars even then I would not fight Alex/Lexi.” “It takes a monster to destroy a monster,” said Alexander/Alexandria, “but if the monster always dies at the end of the story then why am I still alive.” They were rather sure that his/her/their alien lovers all had some sort of desire to die with the manner they incessantly taunted and teased him/her/them, taking calming breaths and intentionally turning their heads away from the rather exquisite genderfluid person.

Yep, the 1999 NFL draft was just as crazy as you thought
Yep, the 1999 NFL draft was just as crazy as you thought
JUST BEFORE NOON on April 17, 1999, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue stepped to the podium inside Madison Square Garden to begin what would be the wildest 90 minutes in NFL draft history.
The epic, chaotic 1999 NFL draft had it all: Quarterback busts galore. Historic, massive trades involving three teams and 15 picks. Thunderous boos, double-crosses, late-night deals, green-room tears, prayer…

On June 16, 2018, Kravets Wehby Gallery (521 W 21st St, New York, NY) will make history when it debuts AfriCOBRA: Now, a group exhibition of work by founding, current and former members of AfriCOBRA. 🎨 Arguably the longest-running artist collective in America founded in 1968 by five Chicago-based artists, AfriCOBRA (African Commune of Bad Relevant Artists) arose from the Black Power Movement and sought to change the world. AfriCOBRA's mission centers around positivity for the people, and their artists rhythmically toe the line between abstraction and figuration. AfriCOBRA: Now will commemorate the 50th year anniversary of its founding by sharing diverse works dating from the 1960s to the present. The exhibition will include work by Akili Ron Anderson, Kevin Cole, Adger Cowans, Murry DePillars, Jeff Donaldson, Michael D. 10 Best NFL Draft Quarterback Classes Since 1980
Five quarterbacks could be taken with the first 10 picks in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. While some quarterback classes have produced all-time greats, there have been plenty of others in the draft’s long history that have disappointed (to put it mildly). Here are the best quarterback classes since 1980. By the way, one Hall of Famer combined with a bunch of busts does not make for a great class.
— Written by Aaron Tallent, who is part of the Athlon Contributor Network. Tallent is a writer whose articles have appeared in The Sweet Science, FOX Sports’ Outkick the Coverage, Liberty Island and The Washington Post. Follow him on Twitter at @AaronTallent.
10. 2008 – 13 Quarterbacks Drafted
Pro Bowlers Matt Ryan
Notables Joe Flacco Chad Henne
Rest of the class: Brian Brohm, Kevin O’Connell, John David Booty, Dennis Dixon, Josh Johnson, Erik Ainge, Colt Brennan, Andre Woodson, Matt Flynn, Alex Brink
Ryan’s play as the Atlanta Falcons’ signal-caller – most notably his superb 2016 MVP season – has been stellar, while Flacco was MVP of Super Bowl XLVII. Surprisingly, Flacco has never been to a Pro Bowl.
9. 1999 – 13 Quarterbacks Drafted
Pro Bowlers Donovan McNabb Daunte Culpepper
Notables Shaun King Aaron Brooks
Rest of the class: Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Cade McNown, Brock Huard, Joe Germaine, Kevin Daft, Michael Bishop, Chris Greisen, Scott Covington
Five quarterbacks were taken in the first round. Three of them – Couch (No. 1 overall pick), Smith (No. 3) and McNown (No. 12) – did not pan out, but McNabb (No. 2) and Culpepper (No. 11) went on to have great careers.

Dorktown: Appreciating the first couple years of Peter Warrick’s career
Photo by Michael J. Minardi/Getty Images
Things were rough for the Bengals in the early 2000s
The NFL has data for how many passes have been thrown to each player since 1992. And for the eight seasons since those records began, no one that had ever had at least 125 passes come his way had ever averaged as few as five yards per target. Only 1994 Kelvin Martin was even close. Then wide receiver Peter Warrick came along:
Warrick entered the NFL after a dazzling season at Florida State, which in 1999 became the first team ever to sit atop the AP rankings from the preseason through the end without ever being knocked off their perch. Throughout the season, Warrick had been their best player. It culminated with a resounding win over the Michael Vick-led Virginia Tech Hokies in the BCS National Championship Game, in which Warrick was the clear-cut Sugar Bowl MVP with 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns, a punt return he also took to the house, and a 2-point conversion.
A few months later, in the 2000 NFL draft, he was chosen fourth overall by a terrible Cincinnati Bengals team quarterbacked by a terrible bust in Akili Smith. Warrick stepped into an inherently tough situation. The Bengals needed him to the immediate focal point of their floundering aerial attack as a rookie. They didn’t have much of a choice — of their top three wide receivers the previous season, one (Willie Jackson) left in free agency, one (Carl Pickens) was cut as a result of a messy, deteriorated relationship, and one (Darnay Scott) would go on to miss the entire season after breaking his leg in training camp.
This all left Warrick as by far the most prominent and qualified option in a wide receiver cupboard that was bare and inexperienced. His fellow Bengals wideouts in 2000 were Craig Yeast, Danny Farmer, and Warrick’s FSU teammate, Ron Dugans, who also happened to average just 3.29 yards across his 38 targets. At the time, this was the second-worst mark since at least 1992 among wide receivers with more than 30 targets in a season, trailing only 1996 Alex Van Dyke. Again, Akili Smith was not helping matters.
Neither was Warrick, as it turned out. Doubtless he was hamstrung by atrocious quarterback play, but as anemic as the Bengals’ overall passing game was, they still averaged even fewer yards per pass throwing to Warrick (4.70) than not throwing to Warrick (4.96).
Warrick’s rookie season constituted by far the most inefficient receiving season on record by someone targeted as often as he was. His encore in 2001 — despite Scott’s return and the arrival of Chad then-Johnson, ostensibly alleviating some of the burden — was the runner-up:
In fact, as you can see in the initial scatter chart, even among those with as few as 100 targets, only a couple wide receivers — 1998 Jerome Pathon and 1998 Irving Fryar — had ever come in under five yards per target. (A couple non-wideouts did as well, though backs and tight ends generally have lower yards-per-target averages so it’s more understandable coming from them. It’s jarring, however, to see figures so low from wide receivers, which is why they’re being categorized differently here.)
Warrick was under five yards per target in each of his first two seasons on even more volume! Here’s how that translated for everyone’s total receiving yardage:
Warrick produced 592 and 667 receiving yards in the two seasons; of the 125-target players, not only are those the two lowest figures, but ’94 Martin had been the only other wide receiver who came in under 750:
So that’s how those seasons stacked up at the time they occurred. They still hold up quite well all these years later. Here’s the same chart as earlier, only with everyone from 2002-19 also included:
Only once has someone else been targeted at least 125 times while failing to top five yards per target: 2006 Chris Chambers, who parlayed his 154 targets into just 677 yards, a beautiful season its own right, and 2012 Larry Fitzgerald is the dot with 156 targets just barely above five. With the exception of only that ’94 Martin season, no other 125-target wide receiver’s even close (in case you’re wondering, the cellar-dwelling wide receiver there with 108 targets is 2003 Az-Zahir Hakim). Warrick, of course, had the two such seasons:
The thing is, though, Chambers (and Fitzgerald and Martin) never had a second season in the vicinity of that kind of inefficiency in a high-volume season. Not by a long shot. Warrick’s 2000 season was a fun historical outlier, but that 2001 performance piggybacking off it — and thus rendering the 2000 season not even an outlier to his own career — takes everything to another level (in ’01 he also had eight rushing attempts; in a lovely touch, the final six combined to produce negative six yards). Here are the receiving yardage totals again, this time including everyone from 2002-19:
Two of the most inefficient receiving seasons coming from the same wide receiver in back-to-back years might naturally lead to the question of how said wide receiver fares when assessing two-year periods. Across those 2000 and 2001 seasons, Warrick was targeted with 263 passes which he turned into 1,259 receiving yards. About 4.79 yards per target. Which, here ya go:
The only other wide receiver there joining 2000-01 Warrick under five yards per target is 2007-08 Marty Booker, who, at 4.98 yards per target, just barely sneaks under five while barely exceeding 150 targets. Warrick’s at 4.79 on 263 targets!
Of the 426 other dots with at least 250 targets, no one else is under 5.5. In fact, no one but 2005-06 Chris Chambers (320 targets that yielded an average of 5.61 yards, with that ’06 season mostly responsible) is within a full yard of 2000-01 Warrick. Here are the two-year receiving yardage totals of anyone approaching or exceeding his 263 targets:
In 2001, bad Jon Kitna was his quarterback, which again underscores that this mess certainly doesn’t fall entirely on Warrick’s shoulders. On the other hand, not only have plenty of other players played with plenty of other awful quarterbacks, but, once again, the Bengals still averaged fewer yards when throwing to Warrick vs. not throwing to Warrick. This time by a pretty significant margin (4.87 vs. 5.64).
Warrick went on to have respectable seasons in 2002 and 2003, averaging over seven yards per target in that time when the Bengals were quarterbacked by a competent quarterback. (It was still Jon Kitna, but he was better.) But starting late in 2003, Warrick began developing chronic leg problems that quickly led to a lost 2004 season.
His injury issues opened the door for T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s emergence opposite his Oregon State teammate (indeed, for a couple years, the Bengals’ wide receiver corps consisted of multiple sets of collegiate teammates), star wideout Chad Johnson, which ultimately marked the end of the road for Warrick in Cincinnati.
Injuries robbed him of a chance to put together a more productive career, as he was well on his way to rebounding after that inauspicious start. It’d have been interesting to see how the rest of Warrick’s time in football might have gone had he stayed healthy. But no matter how else his career might have played out, those first two seasons would have remained things of terrible, awesome beauty.

Alpha Centurion War: The Battle of the Andromeda Galaxy and the Battle of the Milky Way Galaxy:
Dhelat was S’qi head interrogator and torturer while Fosith was S’qi’s chief trainer and was in control of “re-education” on Aq'ed. Fosith was someone with a notorious character for her warmth and her ability with dealing with children of all ages. She was someone that can deal with the disturbed youth of Aq'ed. She was an intelligent, calculating, scheming, & despicable woman. She was the one guilty for altering one’s views from wrong to right. It was she who watched over others and put them in the correct attitude. It was she that modified their history and backstory to her convenience. It was she who educated others to be compliant and to never resist their ruler. She was the person who was in charge for producing the best soldiers and fighters for her side. How had she managed such excellent fallout with an utter insurmountable background? Through her conduct of tearing people down was through torture and indoctrination. She understood how to hurt people and make them yield to her way. She was intelligent and everybody had an Achilles' heel. Everybody can be controlled. Everybody can be made to consider what she told them. She didn’t worry how much it injured them or make them infuriated. She constantly discovered a method to make others yield to her. No one ever doubted her technique. Her process constantly proved right and released wonderful consequences. They both brainwashed and mind controlled people with indoctrination. “Melmih I do not like it when people call you a demon or a monster.” “It is just implicit and explicit ableism since you have mental illnesses.” “It is just misinformation, ignorance, & not enough education on mental illnesses.” “What Dhelat and Fosith call madness and insanity is just bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, & dissociative identity disorder.” “They both used your mental illnesses as a way to hurt you.” “Fosith she brainwashed you and mind controlled as an empath and telepath you into a weapon.” “Dhelat he interrogated and tortured you into falling in line with pain and fear.” “I will never forgive them for that.” “When I heard what they do to brainwash soldiers for the Forces of Evil.” “When you told me they did to you.” “I was filled with such rage, pain, hatred, & sorrow as someone with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, & post traumatic stress disorder.” “I sent my men and women to kill them.” “Those who hurt you are dead.” “They will never hurt you anymore.” “I swear it Melmih.” “You are safe.” “As long as I live no one would ever hurt you again.” A tear was seen dripping down the right eye of Melmih. Alexander/Alexandria held out his/her/their clawed hands asking for her consent to give her a hug. She consented and accepted the hug as she cried into his/her/their arms.
The Alpha Centurion War the deaths of several members of the Elites, Paragons, & Sentinels is what everyone wept about when visiting the memorial for those members of the Elites, Paragons, & Sentinels. The words hung in the atmosphere the tension and apprehension was thick and hushed between them and for once Melmih, Loran, & Hleor found themselves without words to offer. Soothing with their characteristic pointed words would do more to thwart rather than assist their spouse, consort, & lover with his/her/their sorrow and misery. They knew that someone like Joanna Jacobson, Adriana Acosta, Diona Artemis Megalos, Ylva Helga Olofsdottir, Carina Akili Ragorio, Hokulani Zhao Kaimana Ya Keali’i, Hibiki Higa Hayashi, Veronica Veracruz, & Rashida Ashanti Bello. Or even Breapru, Empress Ohoi Nessars, Iesloria Jaothea forbid might have had some encouraging and sympathetic words to offer Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith. Melmih had more than become aware of her “flaws.” “Strengths” her master Sq'i the Conqueror's voice asserted in the back of her mind. Something sinister and primal lurked beneath her skin tasting rapture and elation when she struck out with malice and tasted that exhilarating hint of authority and influence over others. Seldom times Alex/Lexi didn't value her brutality and malevolence. So sometimes Melmih swallowed the razor-sharp angles of her vindictiveness in front of him/her/them and tried to learn to grin a little more kindly but she didn't care for it. But she saw the truth. She was enlightened after seeing the primal, savage, & feral Primal/Feral/Beast part of Alex's/Lexi's psyche that was addicted to violence, carnage, cruelty, brutality, wickedness, & savagery. She saw that part of his/her/their consciousness that thrived in cosmic warfare surrounded by violence, bloodshed, brutality, & death. She saw his/her/their darkness beneath the surface always trying to come out. She was charmed and allured by this. She saw a similar madness and insanity in herself that was shared by him/her/them despite him/her/them trying to hide it. They tried to hide who they were. Oh that would not do at all. She wanted them to be their truest self. She had dissociative identity disorder, schizophrenia, & bipolar disorder. He/she/they had depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ocd, bpd, did, & ptsd. She wanted him/her/them to stop trying to blend in and fit in with a world around him/her/them who saw them as undesirable or dangerous. She wanted them to be the warden of light, life, & good. She wanted them to be the defender of dark, death, & evil. She wanted them to be the guardian of gray and balance. So mostly she let her spitefulness and evil out and she saw them try to hide the smallest of smirks. But sometimes she tried to be good and kind for his/her/their sake. But it was the reasonable fee of sneaking into her lover's and consort's bed to smell the mint and pine of his/her/their skin and feel the temperate pounding blood in Alexander Smith's/Alexandria Smith's veins. Melmih enjoyed Alex's/Lexi's fury every time he/she/they heard someone call his/her/their lovers and consorts monsters. Much more than she enjoyed the minute rush that came from harassing the totally disgraceful. She saw his anger issues. She saw how people treated him/her/them like a demon and her like a monster. It was almost sad in a way how comparable Hleor, Melmih, or Loran and Alex/Lexi were.
Their consort and lover Alex/Lexi has never been pure, chaste, naïve, & innocent. He/she/they being a former metahuman and superhuman child soldier never got to be since they were someone who took their first life since they were young. Oh Alex/Lexi as King/Queen had little to discover under Hleor and Loran's vigilant guidance. He/she/they already knew to be doubtful of courtiers. He/she/they already had the understanding that secreted allegations were part of deception. He/she/they knew that betrayal, seduction, sabotage, espionage, plotting, scheming, blackmail, & murder were hardly unfamiliar to the corrupt and depraved court of the Principality of Ethania. But Alex/Lexi had learnt from a young age as a banished lord/lady of the Iuyamanian planetary empire (that commands the Iuymanian Intergalactic Federation) the need of bloodying one's hands and dirtying one’s soul. Their lover and consort were more than familiar with the required brutality and vindictiveness needed to survive and flourish in the court. But for the moment Melmih was happy enough to do her part to keep her only lover and consort safe from the shadows as an assassin and spy. Sleepless nights arranging her own spy network in the criminal world opposing and concealed from both Loran and Hleor that is no problem. Coordinating catastrophes for predominantly motivated distant lords and ladies that might one day chance a challenge for the heir of Sq’i that is simple enough. She would do whatever it took to keep Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith safe and by her side forever. The first person Alexander Mack Smith/Alexandria Macy Smith had killed was a mercenary when he/she/they were just a child soldier. The King/Queen of Ethania had been ten or eleven then travelling on a tour of the Iuyamian Federation to get a feeling for the planets and the species that he/she/they would one day rule, lead, & command. They were just a child with a cracking voice two blades of advanced technology and superior craft that his/her/their talent, ability, & skill was reasonable for and a fragment of self-importance on his/her/their shoulders. Too young for intergalactic war but old enough to open a man's chest with a hard light sword and old enough to riddle a women's chest with hollow point armor piercing plasma rounds. The blood had dotted his/her/their face as well as her/their power armor and it seeped into even his/her/their combat armor. It was humid and coppery and so full of life that Alexander Kana'i Mack Ryuu Makoa Smith/Alexandria Ataahua Macy Haruka Kamalani Smith had been able to savor it on his/her/their tongue. And when the mercenary company of private soldiers had been destroyed and there was zilch left but the crimson staining his/her/their flesh. Alex/Lexi had known why the Iuyamania was winning the intergalactic war. In war the Iuyamian Federation won the day. They moved faster, they hit harder, they lasted longer. War made demons, archdemons, & devils of even the best of men and they were the scarier monsters. None were more terrifying than the monsters of the royal family of Iuyamania's line. They were monsters, creatures, & beasts, with hearts and souls maybe but they were still monsters and devils all the same.
The madness deep inside Melmih watched as the conflict went on sensing everything. The joyful rush of insanity and madness as her lover Alexander/Alexandria surrounded five thousand souls in his/her/their claws, talons, teeth, fangs, canines, & saber teeth. She sensed the reactionary hatred, fear, terror, rage, fury, awe, reverence, desire, lust, admiration, & respect of his/her/their comrades and enemies. She sensed the mist of death as the two forces fought each other. Through it all she could sense something. Drink something for it was something enjoyable to her devilish senses. Something strong, pungent, but with a syrupy after flavor that lingered that was cold with a sharp taste to it. The entity blinked to herself as she felt an odd sensation in her soul. Something was fizzy and smoldering like fire, magma, & lava in her figurative veins. It made her want to move and jump into the battle. It made her restless. What was this? What was the cause of this yearning? What was the cause of this emotion of agitation? This sick merry feeling that made her start dancing as there was a snigger in her esophagus ready to escape as she bathed in this wonderful yet perplexing feeling. She slowly grinned to herself looking directly at the physical image of the battlefield. She realized it quickly enough. She knew what was making her like this. She had never come across or behold this much in person. For all the gracefulness in the cosmos this much was new to her. It was intergalactic war. The bloodshed, the brutality, the aggression, the fury, the rage, the mourning, the anguish, the bloodlust as it all stirred together in an enormous brew that was one alien warlord’s euphoric vodka. It was truly thrilling to be in the presence of this being that carried such power that was her consort. She could feel the flames of intergalactic war warming her cold empty soul and calming her madness once more. The insanity took a deep breath as she allowed herself to reconnect with dark Melmih. She let her gasp escape her lips in a long groan as she locked eyes with the one that had introduced her to this exquisite concoction this marvelous taste of intergalactic war. “Show me more Warlord of the Vega System,” she said gently her voice soft as soothing as a lover’s caress but as deadly and poisonous as the venom of a fire basilisk, “Show this multiverse Alex/Lexi that if nothing else why you were the only being worthy of my interest.” “Maybe just maybe you truly carry a power worthy of me Conqueror of the Andromeda Galaxy.” “You truly are insane as Hleor, Loran, & I,” she said as she trembled in rapture. “I see why our men your enemies called you the Titan of War in the Alpha Centurion War.” Alexander/Alexandria asked, “Melmih why are you so obsessed with the Primal psyche of my brain?” “I love your primal, feral, & bestial nature.” “I love it as it is your connection to the natural world and the natural order.” “I love it as it is part of the Prime.” “I love it as it is what caused the Berserker Juggernaut, the Dragon Monster, and Leviathan Behemoth.” “If you are regarded as maleficent, wicked is what you will ultimately become.” “Melmih like the moon, she had a part of her so dark that even the stars couldn't shimmer on it.” “She had a part so bitter, that not even the sun could blaze on it.” “I knew what and who she was and it made no difference at all.” “Melmih as an alien disabled with mental illnesses of did or dissociative identity disorder, bipolar disorder, & schizophrenia she was seen as cruel and vindictive because of ableism.” “She was as frail as bone china.” Melmih asked, “Are you insane, like me?” “As someone with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, & dissociative identity disorder, probably.” “Scratch that.” “I’m most likely as crazy as you are.” “There is this madness and insanity inside me that eclipses even yours.” “When I say madness it is me reclaiming that word as someone with mental illnesses of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bpd or bipolar disorder, ocd or obsessive compulsive disorder, did or dissociative identity disorder, & ptsd or post traumatic stress disorder.”

Top 10 top 10 pick QBs who were / are worse Jamarcus Russell
I saw some guy on Twitter making a joke that involved the assumption that Jamarcus Russell was the acknowledged worst QB of the last 40 years (and somehow made Deshaun Watson comparable to Michael Vick? It was dumb on multiple levels) and it got me spewing nonsense on that accursed website that got some great responses on other terrible QBs.
If you’re expecting a rigid analysis of bad QBs from the bowels of NFL history, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you want my own list of highly drafted QBs that were actually worse than Jamarcus, here’s a listicle!
Before I dive into my own junk opinions I want to throw out some names that were crowd-sourced from twitter but don’t meet my criterion of highly drafted: Rusty Lisch (h/t Jay Vee), Scott Tolzien (h/t Butters), and Brodie Croyle (h/t Jayhawk.)
I’m doing a little bit of fact checking but not much as I let these fly. I’m using profootball-reference’s AV stat and looking for top 10 draft picks that never reached the lofty highs of Jamarcus’s AV of 7 in 2008.
1. Akili Smith, Bengals, #3 overall pick 1999
There are surprisingly few embarrassing pictures for a guy who was so incredibly bad. Akili stands out in my mind as being the worst guy I ever saw trying to play QB in the NFL and the numbers back that up. ANY/A is a stat that is used sort of widely. A good QB season is usually around 6 or 7, 5 and above is at least useful, Akili’s for 2000, the only season he started a majority of his team’s games? 2.81!
2. Art Schlichter, Colts, #4 overall pick 1982
I wanted to put Cade McNown here since he was in the same draft class as Akili Smith but he was picked just outside of the top 10 so I went with this classic piece of shit. People who love Ohio State will tell you that Schlichter could have been good without his personal demons but I’m here to tell you, folks, nothing supports that. I know he didn’t ever play there but the Colts were so high on what they saw from the #4 overall pick in 1982 that they drafted John Elway at #1 the next year. Schlichter didn’t play much but when he did he was among the least efficient QBs to ever suit up in professional football.
3. Heath Shuler, Washington, #3 overall pick in 1994
Heath Shuler gets too much credit for being a bad politician and not nearly enough for being a bad quarterback. I remember when he first got on the field in 1994 my dad was really excited by his strong arm and agility. Within a couple of weeks he had given up completely on Heath Shuler. Shuler’s last season in 1997 in New Orleans is a masterpiece of bad QB stats in the modern era. Statistically the Saints would have been better off not playing anybody at the QB position rather than let Shuler go out there.
4. Andre Ware, Lions, #7 overall in 1990
I hate to do this because that card there with all of his passing numbers listed played a big part in me becoming the draft loving, Heisman obsessed idiot that I am today. I probably should have considered just how many INTs are listed there but that’s not how my 13 year old brain worked. Ware did absolutely nothing in the NFL and I’m finally coming around to the realization that it wasn’t because the league was wrong and that he deserved more chances.
5. David Klingler, Bengals, #6 overall in 1992
The second Bengals pick and the second Houston Cougar to show up here, Klingler is great because NFL teams fell in love with him in 1990 for doing the same shit as Andre Ware but with even more INTs, then fell out of love with him in 1991 because he showed he couldn’t handle pressure and didn’t really have that great of an arm and the Bengals still took him at #6 overall. He did a lot worse in his career than I would have guessed and I already thought he was bad.
6. Todd Blackledge, Chiefs, #7 overall in 1983
Why, yes, that is Todd Blackledge getting sacked by Brian Bosworth. Blackledge getting drafted over Jim Kelly and Dan Marino is goddam unbelievable but you know what’s great? Even taking him over Tony Eason looks like the stupidest pick in the world and Eason is in a distant 5th place out of the 6 QBs picked in the first round of this fabled draft. Eason merely sucked. Blackledge is an all time bad player who managed to never start more than half of his team’s games in a season.
7. Kelly Stouffer, Cardinals, #6 overall in 1987
Stouffer never played a down for the Cardinals who drafted him after Neil Lomax had a career worst year in 1986. Is this cheating for the purposes of this post? Stouffer never actually signed with the Cardinals but they did trade away his rights for a first rounder and two second round picks. The Cards didn’t do many things right in those days but they dodged a bullet with Stouffer and got a good return in theory (I can’t find who they actually drafted with the picks but I’m not trying very hard) for his year of non-service. Lomax was pretty good again in 1988 but got hurt and retired. Stouffer did start 16 games for the Seahawks... over parts of five seasons.
8. Ryan Leaf, Chargers, #2 overall pick in 1998
After all these years and all of the words written about how bad he is it is shocking to look up the numbers and see just how bad Leaf was on the field. This guy was considered more or less equivalent to Peyton Manning coming out of school and the Chargers swore up and down they would have taken him at #1. For perspective on how bad Leaf was, Andre Wadsworth (#3 overall) and Curtis Enis (#5 overall) produced demonstrably more value for the teams that drafted them.
9. Jake Locker, Titans, #8 overall in 2011
Apologies to Miz but there’s actually no supporting evidence to suggest Hurt Locker would have ever been good even if he hadn’t been hurt all the time. In his defense the lows were not as low with him as they were with Jamarcus but the highs also weren’t as high and that doesn’t say much for his ability to actually play.
10. Blaine Gabbert, Jaguars, #10 overall in 2011
A lot of people think Colin Kaepernick’s case is unwinnable because they don’t think there will be any smoking gun of conspiracy but 1) people are stupid even when they have the job you want, 2) Blaine Gabbert played on the same teams as Kaepernick the last few years. Gabbert is still on an active roster and will probably get snaps this week. When Gabbert got the 49ers job away from an injured and suffering Kaepernick in 2015 he actually looked slightly better. And that was the best one guy played and by far the worst the other guy has ever played. Care to guess which is which? Gabbert is atrocious and has a long body of work to carry my thesis. 2011 was the year the draft occurred during a work stoppage and teams went bonkers drafting QBs under the (correct) assumption the league could force the union to accept a rookie salary cap and wage scale. That’s why Locker squeaked onto this list and how Gabbert got on here, as well. NFL teams haven’t been quite as overdraft crazy in the years since no matter how bad teams are due to poor QB play. My theory is that Gabbert was so bad that teams are scared to exploit an obvious market inefficiency - a high draft pick costs roughly backup QB money so if you miss you have a shitty backup but if you hit you have the most important position in sports at a dollar premium.
