L’anime è diretto da Yukio Takahashi (Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou) presso lo studio Gonzo (Hinomaru Sumo, Akiba’s Trip The Animation).

harajuku!
today i went to harajuku!
first i opened up a bank account which was uh. an adventure LOL
then we went to a small place to eat. i got unagi-don, bc im a big fan of unagi, but i was expecting it to be ~radically different~ from the unagi i’ve eaten at home but uh it. was pretty much the same LOL. still good tho! i also spent another 100 yen to get a tiny cup of pudding which was actually delicious bahaha. i love sweets y’all
next we went to harajuku!! it was flippin AWESOME!!! we only really got to see takeshita dori, but im a big fan of cute things and oh my god does harajuku have cute things. holy shit y’all. today was more of a look around day, plus im running low on cash, so we didn’t buy any clothes but HOLY SHIT were there a lot of clothes i want LOL i’m SO coming back.
i also got to try a harajuku crepe!! it wasn’t....what i expected ahaha. i got a strawberry and chocolate one but it was mostly just. whip-cream. like a crepe with whipped cream. not BAD, but i was expecting way more strawberry haha! BUT i got some soda thingy with it that was FRICKIN DELICIOUS. so that made up for it methinks.
after more exploring (oh my god there are so many cute things i want to buy) and purikura (hella!) we went to the mameshiba cafe!! its a lil cafe for mameshiba, which are like smaller versions of shiba inu. it was...not what i expected? the dogs were SUPER CUTE, but didn’t really want to be petted ahaha. also i don’t know if i would’ve supported the place if i’d known ahead of time that the dogs don’t get to go outside. like at all. Yikes
oh and!! i VERY EASILY blew 100+ at a small lil anime store we saw RIP. it was only one floor (and on top of a lingerie store? the fuck?) and kinda small, so it was mostly the super popular stuff, bUT SUPER POPULAR=BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA SO I DIED. and also bungou stray dogs!!! tho their bnha stuff was more. oooooh god there were so many froppy things. SO MANY FROPPY THINGS Y’ALL. i only bought 1 bc I Have Self Control (that’s a lie) but i wanted to buy like 700. i also blew 40 bucks on this acrylic stand thing of the main cast hanging out with cats oh my god i couldn’t NOT ;___; y’all im so fucked when i finally go to akiba.
today was a lot of fun despite some small disappointments ahaha. the crepes might not have been what i expected, and the mameshiba cafe mighta been a lil disappointing, but harajuku itself was really frickin cool. there were so many things to do and see, and again, SO MUCH CUTE SHIT. im gonna spend so much money there later LOL. also we were lucky bc its a weekday and the weather was pretty shitty so it wasn’t that crowded! i definitely don’t wanna go there during the weekends if it’s as crowded as everyone says it is haha

Days 27-29
Day 27
Today was a free day that Oliver, Ben and I spent in Akihabara (Or Akiba) exploring the immense pop-culture of Japan. Many stores sold figurines and merchandise of characters from anime, video games, J-pop, K-pop and female idol groups which are abundant in Japan. After eating lunch at a Monster-ramen restaraunt with the guys, I went seperate ways and visited a shiba-inu cafe where there were loads of curious puppies each with unique names and bandana kerchiefs. It was definitely the best choice I made in Akihabara. When I met back up with the guys, we found another Super Potato and walked around until we felt we had seen enough. From there we rode the train back to the Hotel and walked around the city a bit more. We found another izakaya and I ate a teriyaki chicken rice bowl for dinner. From there we found some card game stores where people exchange pokemon cards for money and tables were set up for people to come and play games at. Afterwards the three of us went back to the hotel and watched some Japanese TV and Youtube before bed.
Day 28
I never expected to have fun at Disneyland, but after today I definitely want to go back (hopefully with better weather). We took the train directly to Tokyo Disney and were meeted with almost torrential rains. Plastic ponchos didn’t stand a chance and we were all soaked within minutes of walking around. Despite this, we all had an amazing time going on the various rides such as Thunder Mountain, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Jungle Ride and the Pirates of the Carribean. We tried pizza and chocolate churros while ducking in and out of cover. Thankfully Jady was kind enough to let me borrow her umbrella. After our second go at Thunder Mountain, Oliver and I parted ways slightly earlier in order to dry off at the hotel before our final dinner together. Once we returned I blasted the hairdryer inside my shoes while I quarantined my socks in a plastic bag and got warm with a shower. For dinner we all went to Nomitabehodai Izakaya, where we ate a set series of side dishes and an awesome nabe pot as well as all you can drink for a couple hours. Everyone took turns signing books that were handed around and heartfelt moments were had. Afterwards, we split off to head back to the hotel and I finally took the opportunity to use the Hotel’s Onsen. I was dissapointed in myself for not going sooner after I discovered how fantastic it was. We stayed until closing time. Discussing the trip and the things we liked and disliked. After the onsen I went to bed and slept like a baby.
Day 29
The last day of the tour was rather plain, we had a free morning which Oliver, Rui and I used to do some last minute gift shopping and exploring before everyone met up to go to the airport. I then booked myself into a nearby hotel and explored the city on my own until evening before going to my hotel to rest and meet my friends the next day.

Shrine, Hanami, and a Mascot
A consistent breath-taking feature of Japan is the amount of greenery and trees that exist everywhere, even in the cities.
Tumblr media
Following Akiba, we were taken by our friend to Meiji Shrine. Traveling to the shrine required following a long path lined with large trees on both sides. I’d thought that for such a high population area that the city would be lined with asphalt and pavement, however I was very wrong.
Tokyo holds a multitude of mini-forest like parks strewn all-throughout the city. This something Ive never seen in any part of America.
As I approached the shrine I noticed many gathering around a medium-sized box. It was bare wood, with slits cut in the top. Kanji characters were written over it but I couldn’t understand them. After pondering for a moment my friend approaches me and explains that the box is for the Emma Wall.
Basically a wall of wishes.
For those who don’t want to pay money they can write their wishes and insert them in the box. Well me being the frugal international student...I chose option B.
Tumblr media
The next day I moved into my international dorm room.
It was small and compact; just enough to live in.
“Sasuga Tokyo” I thought to myself.
Sasuga translates loosely to the equivalent English “As expected of ____.” A small living-space to fit my 6′3″ self is something I’ve come to expect from the overcrowded city of Tokyo.
I met my floormates and one had heard that this weekend is the beginning of Hanami season.
Hanami, a flower-viewing festival!
I jumped at the opportunity to see cherry blossoms in full bloom. The following morning we went to Ueno Park. It is basically the Central Park of Tokyo. Many Japanese and foreigners were there on blankets, drinking and being merry while watching the flowers bloom. Stalls are set up with bright banners, heat extruding into the cold air. Their sizzling skewers being grilled and karaage being fried. It was all a wonderfully painted scene...except the flowers were not in bloom, at least most of them weren’t.
It was a truly unfortunate that many of these people were gathered around a handful of trees instead of the whole park. However not all was lost because I was truly fortunate to encounter my first Shiba Inu! A famous breed of Japanese dog that is common here, however abroad there are many restrictions to adopt one.
Tumblr media
After taking in the sights of the half-bloomed flowers, the dogs, and the people, we spotted pedal boats on the pond nearby. We just had to try and race with them!
youtube
This is probably one of my only moments of being the stereotype of “stupid foreigner.”
We were being completely noisy, belligerent, and reckless
with these boats. However, it was a hell of a lot of fun and I’d do it all over again! So my advice: live a little bit, it’s not so bad.
To end the Ueno trip we stopped by our first Japanese arcade. Arcades are much bigger and more popular in Japan. New arcade games are released yearly and often don’t reach our Dave n’ Busters for a couple years. The arcades are built vertically, consisting of 4-5 floors differentiating game type. The first two floor are always UFO Catchers (Crane games).
Japanese politeness and consideration also bleeds into crane games. If the employees notice you spending a lot of money trying to win a prize, then they’ll open the machine and place the prize in an easy position for you to win. I’ve never had this happen in America and this was the only reason I would play the crane games in Japan.
So, we won this Wobbuffet (Pokemon) and decided to make it our mascot, ending our day triumphantly!

Her figure line-up has recently expanded featuring several new soft vinyl figures; “Same” - the three eyed shark, “Yamorin” - the Gekko Dragon plus a cute mini version of “Ebineko “are all on the way. SIMONE LEGNO
Simone Legno is the Co-founder and Creative Director of tokidoki. Born in Rome, Italy, Legno, drew incessantly as a child. The boxes of chewed, broken and unsharpened pencils he adored as a kid were the beginnings of a passion for art that led to the eventual creation of tokidoki. tokidoki started as Legno’s professional online portfolio and artistic diary while living in Italy, where he showcased his illustrations, advertising and new media designs for various clients. A partial list of these clients includes Volkswagen, MTV, John Galliano, Champion, Toyota, Renault, Daihatsu, BenQ, Microsoft, Narcotic Bureau of Singapore, Telecom Italia, and TIM. tokidoki means “sometimes” in Japanese. Legno, who has always had a deep love of Japan and fascination with world cultures, chose the word because he feels “everyone waits for moments that change one’s destiny, by chance or by meeting a new person”. Simone's special moment arrived when his designs drew the attention of entrepreneurs Pooneh Mohajer and Ivan Arnold, who spied the art on his personal website and convinced him to move to L.A. to build a brand. Since officially launching in 2005, tokidoki has grown into an internationally recognized pop- culture lifestyle brand and has amassed a cult-like following for its larger-than-life characters, megawatt partnerships and extensive range of products from apparel and handbags to home décor and even slot machines. tokidoki has collaborated with many brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Guggenheim Museum, Sephora, LeSportsac, Onitsuka Tiger, Marvel, New Era, Hello Kitty, Fujitsu, Levi's, Smashbox cosmetics, Xbox, T-mobile, Medicom Toy, Major League Baseball, Skullcandy, Barbie, Canon, Black Eyed Peas, and more. As the creator of tokidoki, Simone has become a sought-after speaker around the world at museums, universities and conferences, from MOCA (the Geffen Museum-Los Angeles) to the Adobe MAX conference, UCLA, USC, the Flash Film Festival in San Francisco, Art Center College of Design, Apple store in Osaka, Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, Singapore Toy and Comic Convention, Grafika Manila and many others.
Mark Nagata
Mark Nagata, founder of San Francisco-based Max Toy company, introduced Singapore to the likes of Eyezon, Dualos, Argus and the perenial favourite, Negora in 2012. These kaiju (怪獣 which means strange beasts in Japanese) did not last a day at STGCC. Mark Nagata will be back for another round of kaiju invasion this year and he has an spectacular lineup, including a very special STGCC 10th anniversary exclusive, that will satisfy your vinyl cravings. What exactly will he be unleashing from his ever-expanding monster family? Let's just say only the cat is out of the bag. If your only experience with Kaiju is a selfie with Godzilla in Shinjuku, drop by the booth and have a chat with the unofficial Kaiju Ambassador!

Arthur Adams
Soruces: http://ift.tt/2wJiBrX
Arthur Adams, a self-taught artist, became a fan favorite when, at the age of 19, he left his job making pizzas for the masses to pencil the critically-acclaimed Longshot limited series, written by Ann Nocenti and published in 1985 by Marvel Comics. He has been in high demand as an artist since. Adams' highly distinctive and detailed artwork gained him considerable popularity amongst fans and editors, if not his inkers, and he's enjoyed being a cover artist, and the artist and sometime writer for miniseries, specials, and annuals. These days, in order to spare inkers the pain, his work is largely shot directly from pencils or inked by himself, with some exceptions. In his career, Arthur has worked on many titles, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, X men, Godzilla, Vampirella, Rocketeer, the Authority, Danger Girl, Excalibur, and the Hulk, to name a few. He also launched his creator owned, written, and drawn series Monkeyman and O'Brian in 1993 with Dark Horse Comics "Legend" imprint. He also had a ten-issue run on an anthology series featuring the character Jonnie Future. The eight page Jonnie Future stories appeared in Tom Strong's Terrific Tales (2002–2004). More recently, Arthur has been working on Ultimate X for Marvel Comics with writer Jeph Loeb, and issue one launched in 2010. Adams has provided cover images for issues of the Justice League of America, Appleseed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Green Lantern, Hulk, Avengers, X Men, Red Sonja, Superman, Batman, and Vampirella, among other titles. In addition to his work in comic books, he has also produced popular commercial art, such as numerous illustrations for trading cards, posters, shirts, and various other comics-related merchandise. Outside the field of comics, he has also provided illustrations for various magazines, movies, video games, and worked in toy design, packaging art, and even a series of X-Men-themed Campbell Soup cans. Arthur lives in Northern California in the woods somewhere, like his hero, Bigfoot. When told he should have a "Web" site he went outside and tried to spin his own web. It was funny and sad all at once. We got him back inside and gave him his medicine.
