Reader Surprises Shin-ah For His Birthday
| Pairing: Shin-ah x Gn!Reader | Genre: Fluff | Post-Type: Drabble | Word Count: 510 |
Warnings: None
Note: Happy Birthday to our favorite blue dragon, Shin-ah! MY PRECIOUS ANGEL. Someone needs to yell at me and get me to start reading Yona of the Dawn again. I'm SOOOO behind. Hopefully he's still in character though! Hope you guys enjoy :D
You were soaked from head to toe as you ran past the trees and greenery, rushing back to the camp after voyaging into a nearby village alone. You needed to find something to give your lover, something meaningful to celebrate his birthday.
And at last, you had found it. It was a charm, a small pendant of the moon with a blue gem attached to it. It had instantly reminded you of Shin-ah, something he could tie to the hilt of his sword, you only hoped he’d like it.
The merchant had swindled you for a few extra coins, but at the time it started to pour and you didn’t care, so you gave him everything you had left, running back to camp before anyone realized you were missing.
But you had failed as you spotted Shin-ah outside his tent already, eyes on you. He had probably spotted you from miles away, keeping his eyes on you to make sure you were safe. Thankfully, the charm was tucked away, hidden from his strong gaze.
He’s quiet as his gentle hands meet yours, pulling you into his warm tent. Once alone, he lifts his mask, eyes examining your soaked appearance.
“Where were you?” He questions finally, using a spare cloth to help you dry off a bit.
“I needed to get something,” you explain with a smile, digging around in your layered clothing for the wrapped charm you had bought for him. “Close your eyes.”
He does as commanded, but tilts his head in confusion, closing his eyes. You take his hand and open it, placing the charm that was wrapped in cloth in his palm.
“Okay open,” you whisper, looking at him in anticipation, hoping he likes it. “Happy Birthday, Shin-ah!”
He carefully unwraps the cloth to reveal the beautiful charm, his jaw dropping slightly in surprise.
“It’s for your sword, think of it as a token of protection from me. No matter where you are, I’ll always be with you,” you explain embarrassed, feeling like your gift wasn’t as great as you originally thought.
But Shin-ah thought otherwise. He brings you into his arms, embracing you tightly, not caring that your soaked clothes were now also getting him wet. Before meeting you, and your comrades, Shin-ah was alone on every birthday. People feared him and he was raised to believe he was worthless and a monster, something you helped him get over. He was beyond touched at your gift.
“I love it,” he says softly. And he truly did adore it.
He immediately ties it to the hilt of his sword, lifting it up as slivers of light soak through the tent, “I’ll never take it off.”
He felt protective of the charm on his sword, truly believing it was good luck as he had won every battle the Happy Hungry Bunch faced since receiving it. But most of all, you put your heart into that gift, and that was something he’d cherish forever. You made it a memorable birthday that he’d look back on for years to come.

Son Hak saving you from a group of men
Pairing: Hak x fem!reader
Word Count: 2k
Synopsis: While gathering herbs, you get surrouned by bandits - until a mysterious, cocky stranger swoops in to save the day. But you’re no damsel in distress, and you’re ready to show him exactly what you’re capable of.
Warnings: tensioooon y'all, Hak is so damn inviting I just had to write this
I know a lot of my followers are here for jjk, kny and maybe aot, but I enjoyed my fruits basket fanfic soo much that I just had to write for Hak hehe
Even if you're not a fan, I'd love you forever for a little like <3
The forest is quiet as you weave through the dense underbrush, your hands skilfully plucking at the delicate leaves of a healing herb nestled in the shade. The sun filters through the green above, and for a moment, you take in the peace of nature, away from the bustling energy of the village. It's not every day you get the chance to help restock the supplies of your mother’s pharmacy, even though you’re always more than happy to help.
After all, collecting herbs means at least a few minutes of peace, a few minutes away from your mother’s desperate attempts to match you up with a random man. You know she only wants your best. After all, your father is the love of her life. It’s only natural for mothers to wish for that happy ending for their daughters, right?
You can’t help but grimace. Marrying a jerk from your village isn’t exactly your vision of a happy ending, though. If it was for you, you’d be happy enough by becoming a pharmacist just like your mother while getting to train with your father from time to time.
A pharmacist…That bouquet of moonshade bloom looks exceptionally good today. Its healing properties will be of great help for your father when he finally returns home-
Your focus on the herbs is abruptly shattered when the sound of rustling leaves catches your attention. Did someone follow you? Your mother, by any chance? No, you are the only one who knows about that secret place, the only villager who comes here. But who…?
You glance up, fingers tightening around the handle of the small blade strapped to your waist. Your father told you over and over that a knife can be a dangerous weapon in the right hands, that you should never use its powers carelessly.
A group of rough-looking men steps into view, their eyes narrowing as they spot you. Your heart drops to the floor, fierce eyes following each and every step. This can’t be good. This definitely means trouble.
“Well, well,” one of them drawls, smirking as his gaze sweeps over you.
“What’s a pretty thing like you doing out here all alone?”
You straighten, willing yourself to appear unfazed.
“Just minding my business,” you reply evenly, your hand inching closer to the hilt of your sword.
“And I advice you to do so as well.”
But they don’t seem inclined to leave it at that. No, instead, one steps even closer, his grin widening in a horrendous way.
“We’ll take real good care of you. No need to be shy.”
Your heart pounds as they close in, and though you’re confident in your skills, you know you’re outnumbered. That won’t stop you from giving it your all. Little do they know you aren’t a shy and weak girl from a nearby village. No, you are the daughter of a captain who serves under the crown itself. He never cared about the fact that you are a girl, always trained you like a son. Exactly for moments like these.
Just as your fingers wrap around your blade, a blur of movement descends from the trees.
“Now, now,” a unfamiliar, teasing voice cuts through the tension.
“Is this the part where I ask if I’m interrupting something?”
The men freeze, startled by the sudden interruption. Your head snaps up toward the source of the low and somehow taunting voice, your grip on your blade tightening. A tall figure emerges from the shadows of the trees, moving with the grace of someone who has seen far too many battles.
He’s tall, there’s no doubt in the fact that he’s quite muscular underneath the dark cloak he’s wearing. His strikingly blue eyes flick to you briefly, his smirk cocky and self-assured, before settling on the men again.
Who on earth is he?
“Interrupting? Not at all,” one of the bandits sneers, regaining his composure.
“But this isn’t your business, stranger. Why don’t you move along?”
The man chuckles, an easy, confident sound that only serves to irritate the bandits further.
“Oh, but you see, I just can’t help myself when it comes to damsels in distress. It’s a weakness of mine.”
“Damsel in distress?”, you hiss through gritted teeth
You bristle, ready to argue that you’re no damsel, but the situation is too tense to waste time on resentment. Besides, the stranger’s interruption has bought you a moment to steady yourself, and you intend to use it.
The bandit leader narrows his eyes.
“You’ve got a death wish, pal.”
“Maybe,” the man replies casually, lifting his glaive off his shoulder and twirling it with practiced ease.
“But I’ll still take my chances over yours.”
Without warning, one of the bandits lunges at him, a blade drawn. You barely have time to process what happens next - a flash of steel, and the man goes flying backward, clutching his chest and groaning in pain while you didn’t even manage to pull out your knife in the meantime.
The stranger doesn’t stop there. He moves like lightning, his glaive cutting through the air in wide, precise arcs that force the other bandits to scatter.
And you? You just watch him like a fool with your mouth open.
“You lot really are a disappointment,” he comments with a mocking sigh.
“Is this what passes for banditry these days?”
One by one, the men fall like rice sacks. Some manage to run, tripping over their own feet in their haste to escape, while others are left sprawled on the ground, groaning in defeat. It’s over in a matter of moments, leaving only you and the stranger standing amidst the chaos.
You are loss at words. Did this…really just happen?
He plants his glaive in the dirt and turns to you, his smirk softening into something almost friendly.
“You alright, Miss?”
Miss…You lower your blade but don’t sheath it just yet. Your eyes narrow as you study him, unsure whether to thank him or demand his intentions. What did he do here anyway?
He doesn’t seem fazed by your caution at all, though. In fact, his grin only widens.
“You’ve got the look of someone who’s about to say, ‘I had it under control,’” he mocks, leaning casually on his weapon.
“I did,” you reply sharply, finally slipping your blade into its sheath.
He chuckles again, the sound low and annoyingly charming.
“Of course you did. I’m sure you would’ve handled it beautifully.”
He tilts his head, a curious glint in his eyes.
“Still, it doesn’t hurt to have a little backup, right?”
“And what do you want for this ‘backup’?” you ask, crossing your arms.
He raises his hands in mock surrender.
“Whoa, easy there. I don’t charge for being a hero. Consider this a freebie.”
You’re unconvinced, but he doesn’t seem malicious. If anything, he looks mildly amused by your wariness.
“You’re not from around here,” you remark, more a statement than a question.
“Caught that, did you?” he replies, clearly entertained.
“You’re right. Just passing through. But I’d hate to think what would’ve happened if I hadn’t.”
His gaze shifts to the bouquet of herbs you’d dropped during the commotion.
“A pharmacist, huh? Or is it an herbalist?”
“Both,” you answer tersely, bending to retrieve the herbs.
You keep one eye on him as you do, unwilling to let your guard down entirely. You hate to admit how mesmerising his fierce eyes look, how inviting those strong arms are.
Inviting…Are you out of your mind?
“Impressive,” he notes, leaning on his glaive again.
“And the blade? That’s not just for show, I take it?”
“My father taught me,” you reply, straightening with the herbs in hand.
“And I can handle myself, thank you very much.”
“I don’t doubt it. But if I hadn’t stepped in, you might’ve been forced to prove it a little too much.”
You bite back a reply, unwilling to give him the satisfaction of rising to his bait.
Hak leans casually on his glaive, his smirk as infuriating as ever. He won’t give up, won’t he?
“You’ve got a lot of fire, Miss Pharmacist. How about actually proving it?”
Your brows furrow.
“Prove it? I don’t have anything to prove to you.”
“Oh, I think you do,” he teases, straightening up.
“Come on, impress me. You’ve got a blade, and from the way you carry yourself, I’d say you know how to use it. Or was that all talk?”
Your jaw tightens. He’s provoking you and you know it, but you’re not about to back down. Not when you’re challenged like that.
“Fine. You asked for it.”
Drawing your knife, you take a step back to create space, your movements fluid and precise. Hak raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued as you ready your stance.
“Anytime you’re ready,” he announces, spinning his glaive once with a flourish.
You charge forward, swinging low before feinting to the side. He blocks effortlessly, his movements annoyingly smooth. But you’re not done. You hinge, using the momentum to aim a strike at his side. He parries, his smirk widening.
“Not bad,” he admits.
“But you’re going to have to do better than that.”
Gritting your teeth, you change tactics, using a feigned stumble to lure him into an overcommitment. As he steps forward, you twist, sweeping his legs out from under him with a sharp kick. His surprised grunt is deeply satisfying as he crashes to the ground.
You’re about to step back and declare victory when his hand snaps out, grabbing your wrist.
“Not so fast,” he mumbles, yanking you down with him.
The next thing you know, you’re sprawled on the forest floor, half on top of him, his laughter ringing in your ears, his firm muscles rough against your palms.
“You’re full of surprises,” he soothes, his grin entirely too smug despite his current position. “Guess I deserved that.”
“Maybe next time you’ll think twice before underestimating me,” you huff, trying to push yourself up.
Gosh, the feeling of his body against yours almost makes your face flush. You were never this close to a man before, especially not a man like him. He definitely knows how to fight, how to use his body oh so smoothly.
“Next time?”
His grin softens, and there’s a flicker of something warmer in his gaze.
“I’ll look forward to it.”
You roll your eyes, brushing yourself off as you stand with that faint voice in your heart screaming in agony. He rises with ease, dusting off his cloak as though he wasn’t just knocked flat on his back.
“Alright, you win. I’ll admit you’re not half bad. But don’t think this makes us even. I still saved you, remember?”
You let out an exasperated sigh.
“You’re impossible.”
“And you’re irresistible,” he counters smoothly, falling into step beside you.
The banter carries you both out of the forest, and for all his teasing, you can’t deny the warmth his presence brings. For a stranger, he feels oddly… safe. Annoying, but safe.
But you can’t continue like this. If you stay by his side a little longer, you might really for his charm.
“I guess I keep going now. Have a nice journey to wherever you go next”, you finally announce while turning your step into the direction of your home.
“Hey,” he calls after you.
“Not even a ‘thank you’? Tough crowd.”
You glance over your shoulder.
“Thanks,” you bite back, though it comes out more envying than you’d intended.
He laughs, the sound warm and genuine this time.
“You’re welcome, Miss Pharmacist. If you ever need saving again, just yell. I’ll come running.”
You scoff, but can’t quite suppress the small smile tugging at your lips. Whoever this stranger is, you suspect this isn’t the last you’ll see of him.

Masterlist
She doesn't really know what spurred her on to get the idea. Maybe it was the way he seemed to be busy that day. She had barely gotten a 'good morning' before he was up and wandering around taking care of the usual stuff. Maybe it was the way she had barely seen him that day.
Nonetheless, the idea was already planted firmly in her mind and she's determined to execute it.
"You would think they'd be more careful with the fabric-" The two of the are currently walking through one of the villages near the border, having brought extra cloaks for everyone. It had been Y/N's idea, since winter would soon fall to the kingdom, marking the green land with layers of snow. Their breath would start to show in the air and they would need to sit closer to the fires. They could even possibly need to stay in any nearby inn's on the really cold days.
Cloaks were a good, practical idea. That was one of the reasons Yoon loved her. She was good at practical, rational thinking and was able to lend him a hand in his usual activities. She didn't seem to mind either.
If he was being honest, he was a little tired. Although she was walking right next to him, part of him wants to drop the cloaks and ask for a hug. Maybe even take a nap with her. He loved the times they could stay quiet and sit in silence together, or make small talk about the most ridiculous things.
She finally finds a good time to execute her plan when they turn a corner, the street in front of them completely empty.
As Yoon is rambling on, Y/N turns towards him, crowding him backwards until his back hits the wall.
He rests his other hand in her hair and takes a few breathsms, onto the ground as he stills, red creeping up his face and she places an arm next to his hea d. He feels his heart speeding up because this was completely out of nowhere-
"You've barely glanced my way all day." She states, unable to stop the small smile that his flustered reaction elicits. "What? The handsome genius left tongue tied?" She raises an eyebrow, leaning in closer.
"W-Well, when you do that out of-of nowhere, yeah!" He exclaims, now fully red in the face, a hand automatically reaching up to hold her waist.
"What's the fun in knowing?" He splutters out something unintelligent and Y/N laughs, leaning down to rest her forehead on his shoulder. "You should see your face! You're so red!" She chuckles.
He rests his other hand in her hair and takes a few breaths. "You're the worst, you know." He grumbles, pulling her close to hug her.
"The absolute worst." She agrees with a smile.
Requests Are Open!

take care of yourself. love ya <333
you know I had to write that immediately pookie <3<3<3<3
Hak stitching you up
Pairing: Hak x fem!reader
Word Count: 1,3k
Synopsis: basically the request above hehe
Warnings: honestly Hak just feels like this song to me lol, reader getting injured, a little bit of spice hehe I'll fight with Yona over that man any time
The sun hangs low on the horizon, casting an orange tone over the forest clearing. You’ve been traveling with Yona and her small band for weeks now, each day blending into the next with danger and fleeting moments of peace. Today is no exception.
The surprise attack comes swiftly, a blur of steel and shouting that leaves you breathless for a minute. Soldiers from the fire tribe, undoubtedly sent to hunt down and catch the princess, descend on your group with merciless precision.
Your instincts take over when you see Yona hesitate - her bow raised but trembling ever so slightly. You know exactly what will happen next if she doesn’t take that shot, know out of your own experience that hesitating means getting hurt. A blade is speeding toward her, the enemy’s intent clear in their eyes. There’s no doubt in the fact that he’s ready to kill the princess right here and now despite their order.
No, you can’t allow that to happen, not when you’ve been Yona’s friend and lifeguard since both of you were young.
Without a second thought, you throw yourself in front of her, your sword parrying the blow just enough to save her life.
Not enough to save yourself, though.
Pain blooms in your side, sharp and immediate, but you grit your teeth and force yourself to stay upright. There’s no time to falter, no time to whine about injuries that won’t kill you.
“(Y/N)!” Yona’s voice is panicked, but you spare her only a quick glance.
“I’m fine! Just stay behind me!”
Hak is a whirlwind of movement not far from you, his glaive cutting through attackers with ruthless efficiency. Damn, you always hated how effortlessly he looks while fighting, how he doesn’t even break a sweat while protecting Yona and you when you fail. Just like now…
But you can’t just stand back and let him do all the work. After all, you’re skilled yourself, beat all the boys around you at the age of 5. No, you don’t want to stay on the sidelines, you don’t want to be a burden.
Without thinking twice, you drag yourself back into the middle of the fight, slicing through each and everyone who gets in your way while not paying any attention to the scorching pain that travels up and down your whole right side.
The fight ends almost as quickly as it began, the last of the soldiers fleeing into the woods before you can stop him. You lean against a tree, one hand pressed to your side where blood seeps through your clothing. It’s not deep, you’re sure of it, but it hurts like hell.
Yona is at your side in an instant, her worried hands brushing your arm.
“You’re hurt!”
“Don’t-” you start, but your words falter as Hak approaches, his dark eyes narrowing as he takes in your pale face.
“You’re bleeding,” he says bluntly, his voice low and rough.
“It’s nothing,” you insist, straightening despite the dizziness threatening to take over.
“I just-”
“Don’t.”
His hand reaches out, catching your wrist before you can step away. The grip is firm but not unkind, though it awakens that strange feeling in your stomach all over again.
“Let me see.”
You hesitate, but the look in his eyes leaves no room for argument. It’s not like you have a choice in this anyway.
“I said I’m fine,” you mutter, though your knees threaten to give out as he carefully lifts the edge of your tunic to inspect the wound.
The sharp intake of his breath does not go unnoticed.
“Fine, huh? You’re bleeding like a stuck pig.”
“I’ve had worse,” you argue, trying to pull away, but he doesn’t let go, still holding onto your waist.
“You’re stubborn,” he mutters, his tone laced with frustration, but there’s something softer beneath it - something that makes your chest tighten.
“What were you thinking, throwing yourself in front of her like that?”
Oh, you have enough of this. Enough of doing what you possibly can only to get saved by him, enough of feeling like a third wheel, enough of the way Hak looks at Yona-
“I was thinking that she’s more important than I am,” you snap, immediately regretting the words when Hak’s expression darkens.
Crap, that was too much. Are you really dumb enough to reveal your silly feelings to him? As if Hak actually likes you back when he made it more than clear he has only eyes for Yona.
“Don’t say that.”
His voice is quiet but heavy, each word landing with weight.
For a moment, neither of you speaks, you don’t even dare to move. He takes a deep breath and moves closer, gently guiding you to sit on a nearby rock. Yona hovers nearby, her guilt evident, but Hak waves her off.
“I’ll take care of it,” he reassures, his tone leaving no room for argument.
You sit stiffly as he cleans the wound, the sting of the antiseptic making you wince. Just like the fact that you’re completely alone now with him in this uncomfortable situation. Hak’s hands are surprisingly gentle, his usual teasing demeanor replaced with a rare seriousness.
“You’re reckless,” he murmurs after a moment, his eyes focused on the task at hand.
“I didn’t want her to get hurt,” you mumble.
“And I don’t want you to get hurt,” he counters, his gaze snapping up to meet yours.
The intensity in his eyes makes your breath catch. Did he ever look at you with those fierce eyes? There’s not a single spark of humor gleaming in them, nothing but…
Care.
“Do you have any idea how I’d feel if something happened to you?”
The vulnerability in his voice is unexpected, and it leaves you momentarily speechless. He can’t feel like that, right? Sure, he’d be sad if you get seriously injured, but it’s not that deep for him.
…Right?
“Hak…”
He finishes wrapping the bandage around your waist, his fingers lingering for just a moment longer than necessary while his eyes seem to eat you up alive.
“Don’t scare me like that again,” he finally says, standing and offering you his hand.
His usual smirk returns, though it’s tinged with something softer.
“I can’t protect two reckless fools at the same time.”
You take his hand, allowing him to pull you to your feet. The second you touch his bare skin, a shot of electricity seems to run straight through you. What the hell has gotten into you?
“Thanks,” you mumble, feeling heat rise to your cheeks.
“Anytime,” he replies, his smirk widening.
“And (y/n),”
Faster than you’re able to even react, he spins you back straight into his arms, your head coming to a rest against his broad chest.
“You’ve got to stop making my heart race like that,” he murmurs, his voice low and smooth, the playful lilt unmistakable.
“If you keep it up, I might start thinking you’re doing it on purpose.”
Your brain short-circuits, and you barely manage to sputter out, “W-what?”
He pulls back just enough to look down at you, his signature smirk softening into something warmer, though no less teasing.
“What? You don’t think I can tell when someone’s trying to get close to me?”
It takes every ounce of strength not to collapse from the combination of embarrassment and the way his gaze seems to pierce straight through your soul.
“You’re unbelievable,” you mutter, shoving at his chest, but he doesn’t budge - if anything, his grin only widens.
“Yeah, but you like me anyway,” he replies, finally letting you go but not without ruffling your hair as he steps back.
As you gape at him, trying and failing to come up with a reasonable response, he shoots you a wink and strolls back toward camp as if nothing happened.
You’re left standing there, your heart pounding wildly, the warmth of his touch still lingering on your skin like your blood-soaked clothes.

Hello! I was so happy when I found out you writing for Yona of the dawn, and now I would like to make a request. Can you please do sfw relationship headcanons with Hak? Female reader is also in a team. I know it's not original, but since we have so little Akayona content, I think it fine. Thank you in advance!
Relationship Headcanons | Son Hak
Warnings: None.
A/N: So, so sorry this took so long to complete!! I was trying to hold off until I finished the manga to make this, but as recent events have gotten me really into the Windbreaker anime and the Black Butler manga, it uh...doesn't seem like that'll happen anytime soon. Nevertheless, despite going off a pure memory for this ( as I haven't picked the manga up since, like, last summer ) I hope you enjoy this little piece I put together!
↪ No matter if you're the medic, the cook, or one of the fighters on your team, Hak will always try to protect you in any and all situations.
↪ He's very sensitive when it comes to certain things with you so if you ever got hurt, no matter the circumstances of how it happened, he will blame himself for not jumping to your rescue.
↪ Very sarcastic. All lighthearted jokes between you and any of your team members, of course. He'd fall head over heels for you all over again though if you ever joined in on his antics or had a similar sense of humor. ( None of your or his teammates can share that sentiment though )
↪ He's a gentleman when he wants to be and if he sees you struggling unnecessarily with something ( ex. carrying a bunch of twigs or logs or something ) he'll be by your side to help you in an instant whether you want to be helped or not. ( Depending on how you react to his help though, he may add a snarky comment or two. )
↪ Loves to rile you up. At times when there's nothing dire going on, he tends to poke fun at you until you just blow and start screaming at him. ( Or however you react when your mad ) He finds it cute when you huff and puff at him, but if his comments genuinely hurt your feelings, let him know ( or don't and let him find out on his own ) and he'll tone it down.
↪ If you can fight, he'll spar with you on a good day. Not that you probably want him too. You see, Hak can be pretty..irritating. First off, he tends to hold back out fear of hurting you ( especially if you're a woman ) so if you expect some no holds barred fighting like he does with Kija or his enemies, you're out of luck. Secondly, if you're a novice, he'll nitpick every little thing you do wrong. He means good by it, wanting you to see those mistakes before an enemy shows you and you end up wounded or worse, but just the way he goes about it would get anyones blood boiling.
↪ Does the hottest things at the most random times. You two can be out on a task given to you by Yun or simply sitting by the fire and enjoying the scarce peace and he'll do something like bite your neck or profess his undying love for you out of nowhere. What makes things worse is that he'll pretend it never happened afterwards, leaving you to use context clues to figure out what the hell just happened.
↪ Irritating to deal with when it comes to arguments. Hak is a very stubborn person and when you're arguing, especially if the topic regards your safety ( or really anything that envolves you and your wellbeing ), chances are that he won't back down. He's also blunt to boot so some things he says could easily be taken the wrong way.
↪ That leads us to apologies! While Hak isn't the type to go on some long winded ramble asking for your forgiveness, he will reach out at the very least depending on what he'd be apologizing for. ( Depending on what happened, he may not apologize at all ) Moments like that are the few times you get to peer inside him and see that genuine side that he tends to cover up with sarcasm and nonchalance.
↪ You're his top priority at all times. He's always thinking of you. especially on the battlefield! If you're not in his line of sight, he gets antsy and his mind wanders everywhere. Stuff like "Are you safe?", "Are they injured?", "Are the others with you?", and much more are going through his head with every swing he takes with his glave.
↪ Vulnerable moments with him are short and fleeting. It's in his nature to keep this unbothered persona of his going until the end because he doesn't like it when people are worried about him. He may say things in those moments that'll completely contradict his whole character only to immediately wave you off afterwards, leaving your mind racing as you try to pick apart his words and find the true meaning behind them.
↪ He's not one for cuddles, but if you are, he doesn't mind letting you curl up against him and lay on his chest. He tends to play with your hair at times like that, but only when you're fast asleep and can't feel it or whenever he's trying to tease/fluster you.
↪ Your first kiss will catch him off guard at first no matter who initiated it because, if he were to be transparent, he didn't believe he'd ever actually get to this point with you. That said, after the first kiss, he can't go more than a day without feeling the security of your warm lips on his! That means goodbye, good morning, good luck, and any other excuse he can pull to get a kiss from you is a must from then on!
↪ Can get real jealous at times. I imagine this being a big issue moreso prior to you two getting into a relationship rather after, but Hak can get really possessive when he's jealous. He's def not the type to see everyone as a threat, but I do imagine him being preturbed by one of your team members showing some kind of hint of harboring romantic feelings for you. And in that case, he may act a bit meaner to them ( still overall light hearted though like when he's interacting with Jae-Ha ) and possibly even petty enough to find ways to get you to avoid them. ( Like, for example, asking you to help him out with something that he can definitely do on his own specifically when he notices you conversing with the person causes him to feel so jealous )
↪ Basically he can be bit emotionally constipated at times, but he's not the worst boyfriend one could have. Not in a million years, in fact!

So I saw that you had I tag I follow and immediately rushed over! So first and foremost...How are you? Are you drinking water daily? And I also wish you a good rest of days.
I was wondering since I rarely see this for Akatsuki no Yona. Like a Chubby reader. That's all. Like didn't they exist back then too?...
So basically Reader was Yona's personal maid, one of her most trusted friends like Hak and Soowon. So now they are apart of the group and basically feel out of place. She has a crush on Jae-ha but knowing he only goes for "attractive" women she doesn't act upon her feelings.
What happens next? 👀
Insecure Chubby!Reader Who Has A Crush On Jae-Ha
Pairing: Jae-ha x Chubby!Fem!Reader
Warnings: uh talking down about yourself, insecurities, lowkey suggestive at one point? but nothing crazy
Genre: comfort, fluff
Post-Type: Oneshot
Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: In which you confess to Yona that you have a crush on Jae-ha, but he'd never like you back because you're chubby and he only goes for thin women. Little do you know that someone is listening in on all this o.o
[A/N: OMg hi...I KNOW I KNOW. It's been way over a year since you requested it. If you're still around, you're probably wondering what the heck this is as it's been long forgotten. I'm sorry it took me so long to write, I had it half written in my drafts all this time because I started second guessing myself and I really loved this request and didn't think I could do it justice. SO here's my completed version of this. I hope it's decent, and hopefully you're still interesting in reading it :'). Sorry if it's disappointing NFEKJFKAEF <;3]
It was night now. Months had passed since Yona ran out of her castle after her father's murder. Hak had saved the both of you from Soowoon’s revenge on her father as you would not back down and go to their side either. Yona loved and respected you, so you owed her everything, and that still hadn’t changed. You still refer to her as Princess, just like Hak, but the two of you were closer than ever–going beyond the friendship a personal maid and a Princess should probably ever have.
Owls hooted in the background and the sound of crickets surrounded you. You had all stopped for the night to set up camp, and were currently in your shared tent with Yona and Yoon. The young boy was fast asleep in the far corner of the tent, exhausted from running around all day, but you and Yona were wide awake from the excitement of the day–too pumped to even think about sleeping just yet. Giggles escaped your mouth at the girl-talk that was being exchanged between you both, then Yona began to blush as you asked her about her feelings for Hak. You had noticed the change in the atmosphere between them for a while now.
“He’s just…different from how I used to see him? Instead of just seeing him as that annoying kid back then, he’s more of a man in my eyes now… He said some uh, lovely things to me the other night and it just made me realize my feelings even more,” She hides her head in her hands, thinking back on the deep conversation she had with the raven haired man a few nights ago, but clears her throat and turns the attention away from herself, “What about you, Y/N? Seen anyone in any villages that have caught your eye? Or perhaps even someone among us, hmm?”
You could hear the slight tease in her voice at her question, she fully knew who you liked, but wanted to hear you say it yourself. After all, what fun is girl-talk if she was the only one dropping juicy information.
“Well…there is someone I like, but he’d never go for a girl like me…” you trail off, looking down at your hands.
“Jae-ha would love you, Y/N. You’re gorgeous, kind, and you have a heart of gold, I see the way he looks at you whenever your back is turned.”
“W-what? How did you know it was Jae-ha?” You ask bewildered.
Yona laughs, placing a hand on your shoulder, “So it really is him? I was just making a lucky guess, wow.”
You huff. Perhaps it was a little obvious since you always got nervous around him and ONLY him. The slight disappointment that graced your features whenever he spoke of a beautiful woman he ran into in town. The tiny sparks of desire to have him speak to you with those lovely words, but it would never happen.
“He was probably just wondering why I can’t be so open with him like I am with everyone else,” You sigh. “I know I don’t belong here. You’re gorgeous and way above my social status. The other guys in our group are all very attractive as well, I’m the only one who sticks out like a sore thumb, but I guess I just have to deal with it!”
You fake a smile, regretting a little that you opened up too much.
“Y/N, is that really how you’ve been feeling this whole time?” Yona asks, her voice now softer at your confession.
“It’s alright, really. I’m used to it by now, I don’t know why I suddenly decided to say that all right now. Everything’s okay!”
“No, everything’s not okay. Y/N, you are the most beautiful person I know. I don’t care if you think your extra weight makes you ugly compared to the rest of us, that doesn’t make a difference in my eyes and Jae-ha would be a fool to have that be a difference to him as well! Tell him how you feel! He would treat you like royalty.” Yona explains, a little enraged that you’ve been feeling this way all this time without her realizing it, “And I know we come from different backgrounds, but out here, we’re all the same. You and I are on the same level. You’re my best friend, and that won’t ever change! You are one of us, part of the happy hungry bunch! It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
“Thank you, Princess Yona. You’ve been a great blessing to me and I’m so very grateful to be your friend,” You smile slightly, but it falls again when you think of Jae-ha. “It seems that Jae-ha only goes for thin, beautiful women though. I can’t imagine him directing those compliments to me when I’m the complete opposite of all those women…I- I guess I just wish he could see me as a beautiful woman despite my weight. Even if it was only for a second.”
Yona once again assures you that you are indeed beautiful and that nothing is wrong with you. She was a little lost for words on what else she could say to help you feel better, she just wished you could see yourself the way that she saw you–a beautiful woman, inside and out.
“If I’m so beautiful, then why won’t he look at me the way I want him to?” You shout in frustration, a little too loudly.
Your conversation is cut short though as the sound of shuffling is heard from outside the tent, along with the distant murmuring of the rest of the boys who were still awake, engaged in small talk.
“Will you both shut your mouths? I’m trying to sleep here. Y/N stop being a wimp and just confess to him already. You’ll never know until you at least try!” Yoon groans out with a huff, before light snores escape his mouth once again.
“He’s right,” Yona whispers now, not wanting to awaken the tempered boy again, “But I guess this can all wait for another day. Let’s sleep, it’s getting pretty late.”
You both yawn at the same time and laugh lightly to yourselves. Perhaps it could wait…
Sleep consumes Yona pretty quickly, but your mind is plagued with a million thoughts that keep you up all night. It would be a tough day tomorrow.
…
The next day, your journey together continues as you finish packing up the last of your camp and continue forward.
Yona and Hak had run up ahead of everyone else in the early morning to get in some more arrow shooting practice while the rest of you moved to catch up at a decent pace. You lagged behind a bit, lost in thought of everything you spoke about last night.
“Careful, wouldn’t want to run into a tree and ruin your beautiful face, now would we?” The sudden voice of the man you were thinking of, startles you back to reality along with the gentle touch of his arms around your shoulder, guiding you around a tree that you were seconds from walking straight into.
But all you could think about now was the presence of his warmth on your shoulder along with a word you had always longed to hear addressed to you–beautiful.
“Huh?” You ask a little frazzled, trying to control your breathing from his still present arms around you.
“You almost ran into the tree back there,” He smiles, now removing his arms from around your shoulders and awkwardly scratching the back of his head.
You both were now lagging behind the group who had finally joined back up with Yona and Hak. Yona sends you a quick thumbs up from afar, mouthing a ‘good luck,’ with a wink.
“Thank you,” you mumble to Jae-ha, ignoring Yona’s cheekiness, and continuing to walk to the rest of the group with your eyes glued to the ground. You couldn’t do it, you couldn’t tell him.
You hear the man sigh behind you before firm arms pick you up bridal-style, and jump into the air as you let out a yelp, instinctively wrapping your arms around his neck and hiding your face into his chest from being so high up. You were surprised that he was even able to lift you, but I guess all the dragons were fairly strong.
Your heart was hammering in your chest–both from the sudden action of being in the air, but also from being in close proximity to your crush. You could hear his own heart hammering in his chest, probably from having the fatigue of jumping while carrying something heavy (at least that’s what you think, his heart is definitely pounding for other reasons).
You can hear the distant joyful hollering of Yona and Zeno from afar, praising the green-headed man for his bold actions, to which Jae-ha chuckles at. It isn’t long until you’re safe on the ground again, far enough from the group now to have some privacy together. Jae-ha sets you down as you timidly scoot away from him and sit on the grass, trying to calm yourself down.
“What’d you do that for?” You ask hesitantly.
“A little bird told me that you’ve been talking down on yourself, is that true?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you avoid his eyes. You physically couldn’t look him in the eyes, you were far too embarrassed. Where had he heard that from?
He takes a seat beside you, gently reaching for a strand of your hair and admiring it as he twists it between his fingers. You’re frozen in shock. What was going on?
His hand abandons your hair and gently grabs your chin to face him as his other hand wraps around your waist.
“And I’d love to know where you heard that I wasn’t completely infatuated by your beauty,” he teases.
Your eyes widen in shock.
“In fact, I love every inch of you, from the plumpness of your thighs to the softness of your stomach, your magnificent chest, and your puffy cheeks. You’re absolutely enchanting– a diamond among stones,” he continues.
“Your eyes, they outshine the beauty of any other woman in this land, you know why? Because they belong to you. I don’t care how big you think you are, but never talk like that about yourself again.” There was a certain sternness behind his voice now, as if he was really serious and hurt that you would think so badly of yourself.
“How did you-”
“I heard everything last night, Y/N. You have no idea how much self-control it took for me to not just burst into that tent and tell you everything right then and there. But I’m here now, and I can’t move forward until you know how much I love you. You’re beautiful and I won’t have you think otherwise.”
You were beyond baffled.
“All this out of nowhere? You’re always off fawning over all the beauties in town, but never at me. You’re just saying this to make me feel better, right? Well, it’s okay. I do like you, Jae-ha, but I don’t need your pity. You don’t need to like me back, I’ll be o-”
You’re cut off by the feeling of Jae-ha’s lips on yours. You can feel the emotion behind them as he was almost desperate to show you how real his feelings for you were. You lean into him, wrapping your own arms around him now, fully into the steamy kiss.
He pulls aways with a pant, “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that,” he laughs. “I hope you believe me now.”
“And to answer your question, I didn’t want to scare you off. I know how bold I can be, and a part of me loved watching you from afar, loving, admiring you in secret. It was exhilarating trying not to get caught,” he confesses.
Yona’s words from that night echo in your head of how she had seen him watching you a few times. He really did like you…
“I’m surprised you never caught my wandering eyes. We need to work on you being more aware of your surroundings, darling. What if it was some other man gawking at you, and not me? Not that I’d let that happen…but still.” There he goes again with his teasing.
You playfully hit him on the shoulder, hiding your face in the crook of his neck, “Shut up,” you mumble, very embarrassed by all his words. You still couldn’t believe it, it was like all your dreams became a reality over-night.
Was this a dream? Because if it was, you never wanted to wake up. You cuddle further into him, hiding the heat that was quickly rushing to your face. You were overwhelmed, but in a good way. His own arms slither around you in a tight embrace.
“This is real right? You’re not just saying all this?”
“Of course this is all real, darling. And I’ll keep saying it all until you believe it. You’re under my care now,” He whispers that last part and leaves a peck to the top of your head.
“I’ll take good care of you,” he confirms again, making sure you know it.

Hey! My first request!! I'm kind of nervous to request but I had some ideas I will share! So I hope you consider making them once you have time :3
My idea was: akatsuki no yona, how would the dragons (and hak if you want) in headcanon form, react to finding their s/o gravely injured after their s/o took too long finding firewood? They could be wounded from falling or from being randomly attacked by an animal/humans etc! I hope you like this request (ʘᴗʘ✿)
Love,
Suzy
Dragons + Hak with Injured S/O
Parings: Hak x Gn!Reader, Jae-ha x Gn!Reader, Shin-ah x Gn!Reader, Kija x Gn!Reader, Zeno x Gn!Reader
Warnings: reader getting injured, worrying boys lol, mention of blood, kissing :3
Genre: Fluff
Post-Type: Headcanons
Word Count: 2.5k
Summary: In which you go out on your own to collect firewood and get injured. You take to long to return so the boys leave camp to go look for you and find you injured
[A/N: Hey Suzy! So glad I finally got this done for you! We all know that tumblr needs more AkaYona content :D. I hope you enjoy these headcanons! ]
Hak:
It was a pretty steep hill that you were climbing, in search of wood dry enough to start a fire with; you figured the high up you looked, the dryer the wood would be
You didn’t expect to lose your balance as you tumble back, rolling down the hill and roughly slamming stomach first into the trunk of the tree that had luckily stopped you from rolling any further
You try to get up but wince at the stinging pain in your abdomen, having no choice but to remain in the ground where you were
Noticing that you were taking too long and having been on guard since you volunteered to collect firewood on your own, wanting to be useful to the group in some way, you insisted that Hak didn’t follow you, Hak took matters into his own hands and started searching for you
A few minutes pass of him searching and you’re nowhere to be found; starting to feel more anxious, he begins screaming out your name
“Y/N! Where are you?”
Thankfully you were close enough to hear him as you struggle to call out to him
“Hak,” you weakly call for him, holding onto your stomach
He hears you and is by your side in a matter of seconds, scanning you up and down
He notices the fresh blood pooling around some wounds on your arms and face, and sees the look of discomfort on your face as you hold your stomach in pain
“What happened?” He asks, anger on his features as he surveys your surroundings
“No one attacked me Hak, I’m fine. I just tripped and fell back. I was trying to get wood from the top of the hill since they’re all still damp down here”
He sighs in relief glad that he didn’t have to go out looking for revenge if someone had hurt you, but gets up to walk away, trying to collect himself anyway
“Wait, aren't you going to help me?” You call out to him, wincing as you move suddenly
He turns back around quickly and you see the concern on his face
“I hate seeing you so hurt. Next time you try going to get wood, don’t stop me from coming with you,” he huffs, leaning down to help you up as carefully as possible
So maybe he was a little upset that this could have been avoided by going with you, but he’s mostly angry at himself for not following you anyway even though you asked him to stay behind
“I’m sorry,” you reach for his hand and give it a gentle squeeze, knowing exactly what was going through his head, “I’ll be more careful next time.”
He squeezes your hand in return shooting you a small smirk, “Yeah well not with those two left feet you aren’t,” he snorts, which earns him a playful hit from you (a soft one though as you don’t want to exert yourself)
He’s relieved that nothing worse happened to you and has his arms around you, leading you safely back to camp so Yoon can tend to your wounds
Jae-ha:
You didn’t even notice the group of bandits approaching behind you until it’s too late
One of them hit you behind the head, sending you tumbling to the ground, your head throbbing at the impact
You try to scramble to your feet but to no avail, they grab you by your hair, making you scream out in pain to your already sensitive head
“They’ve got nothing on them, get rid of them,” one of them instructs the man who was holding a handful of your hair in his hands as another goony finishes patting you down
The man behind you takes out a knife that glimmers in the light, and is about to swing it down on you
You close your eyes, in too much pain to fight anymore as you wait for the pain to hit you, but instead you hear a grunt as you’re released from the man's grip and warm hands wrap around you instead–you knew exactly who those hands belonged to
You open your eyes and meet the concerned eyes of your boyfriend, Jae-ha
“You okay darling? You were taking a little too long so I came to check on you,” his eyes scan your injuries and shift slightly to glare at the man he had just kicked away from you, “And I’m so glad I did.”
He sits you down on the ground and presses and gentle kiss to the top of you head which was instantly soothed by his warm lips
“Now, who said you’d get away with harming something as beautiful as my Y/N? Hm?” He spits, not even giving the men a chance to respond before he lunges at them
He doesn’t spend long roughing them up a bit, knowing that you were behind him waiting to be helped, so he just scares them as they all run off screaming about him being a monster
He laughs bitterly then turns back to you, helping you to your feet
“Let’s get you back to camp”
He’s a bit curt, but truth be told his heart his hammering in his chest at the prospect that he was seconds away from losing you or finding you in possibly worse condition had he not been there to stop those men
You stop him for a second and grip his face, making him look into your eyes, “Hey, I’m right here. I’m okay,” you reassure him, knowing he needed to hear those words from you
He lightens up and gently holds your face in return, leaning in and leaving a sweet kiss to your lips, “Indeed you are, beautiful. Let’s go”
Both in a brighter mood you walk hand in hand back to camp, the pain in the back of your head a little more bearable as Jae-ha’s hand fill your whole body with warmth
Shin-ah:
This man has been watching you closely with his dragon eyes as soon as you left to go get firewood
So when he sees you prick your leg while walking by a wild bush, he takes off in a run towards you with Ao holding on for dear life on his shoulder
He reaches you in no time and is on the ground beside you where you had dropped down in pain, holding onto your leg with sweat running down your forehead
“Y/N?” He calls your name in concern as Ao runs over to you to inspect your wound with worried eyes
“Shin-ah,” your head shoots up at the sound of his voice, finally noticing Ao by your leg as well, “I don’t know what happened. I think I scraped my leg but it’s burning so horribly”
You were wincing at the pain, wanting to scream out in agony, but biting your screams back, in fear that you’d worry Shin-ah even further
He quietly inspects your wound which is festering faster than he expected, but he remains calm even though he’s freaking out internally
He takes a cut of the plant that had pricked you, careful not to cut himself with it and brings you to your feet as he helps you wobble back to camp which luckily wasn’t that far
Yoon inspects your wound along with the sample of the plant Shin-ah showed him and immediately knows what to do
“It’s poisonous,” he starts, which makes Shin-ah’s inner anxiety worsen momentarily as he’s about to run to your side, “But thankfully I know exactly how to make an antidote and I have all the materials on me already. Don’t worry Shin-ah, Y/N will be okay. I’ll make sure of it, just leave it to me.”
He’s relieved to hear that you’ll be okay and rushes back over to your side where you had passed out from the pain, sweat beading down your forehead as your eyebrows furrow every so often
He remains by your side, wiping the sweat from your face and holding your hand to let you know that he was there as Ao cuddles up into the crook of your neck, until Yoon finally enters the tents with the antidote
Shin-ah keeps a watchful eye on you as Yoon applies the ointment that would cancel out the poison quickly that was making its way further up your leg
He stays with you until you finally wake up, feeling much better as you notice Shin-ah sleeping up-right beside you
You nudge him a little and as he stirs, you pat the spot beside you inviting him to rest with you
He happily obliges, throwing his mask off and laying by your side as you look into his golden eyes, the ones he only trusted you to see
“You’re okay?”
“Yes Shin-ah, I’m okay now. Thank you for watching over me,” you smile at the blue dragon, leaving a kiss to his hand that was slowly and gently caressing your face
“Good,” you can see the relief enter his irises and you both rest some more in each others arms
Kija:
You had just collected an arm full of firewood and were on your way back to camp to show everyone that you could manage yourself on your own
You spoke too soon as you trip over a root that was sticking out the ground that couldn't be seen by you from over the pile of wood in your arms
Your ankle twists sending you flying to the ground as all the wood in your arms is thrown in a mess in front of you
You suck in a breath, brushing yourself off and limping to pick up the wood and try to continue walking to camp–you couldn’t fail to bring wood back to camp because of something as silly as tripping over a root and twisting your ankle
So you struggle forward, you arms shaking under the weight of the wood as you rely on your other foot to carry your forward
It takes you a lot longer as your pace has significantly slowed down
Back at camp, Kija is a worrying mess, pacing back and forth as Hak tells the “White Snake” to sit down before his pacing burns a path in the ground, which earns him a slap from Kija as he finally gives in and runs into the surrounding woods to search for you
He nearly has a heart attack as he sees you struggling to walk with a pile of wood in your arms
“Y/N! What happened?!” He screams, running closer to you
You stagger forward at his sudden voice, but he’s in front of you to help stabilize you before you go down again, the wood however does fall back onto the ground
“I just tripped, don’t worry about it, I’m fine!” You wince as you move forward to pick up the wood again
“You’re not okay, look at the size of your ankle! It’s so swollen. This is no good, we need to get you back to camp immediately so Yoon can take a look at it. C’mon,” he moves your arm around his shoulder to support your weight so you don’t put pressure on your foot, but you stop him and point to the wood
“What about the wood? It was my job to bring it back to camp, if I don’t then that means I failed,” you state, moving away from him to get the wood
“Forget the wood! It’s more important that we tend to your ankle first!”
To keep a long story short, Kija ends up carrying the wood back with his dragon arm as you use his other arm as support to help you walk
You had managed to convince him to bring the wood along despite him trying to get you back to camp quickly
“Thank you Kija,” you lean in to peck his cheek which leaves him a flustered mess
I hope you’re ready because this man is following you whenever you volunteer to get wood again so he can keep you safe from evil tree roots
Zeno:
You were so focused on picking up the wood that you didn’t notice the wild boar running towards you at full speed until it hits you
It crashes into you, sending you flying back at the impact, winding you
You lay still on the ground trying to catch the breath that was knocked out of you as the boar continues to run off as if it didn’t just ram into you
You’re not even sure how much time passes as you remain on the ground, your back aching from flying down onto it, you could almost swear a rock was lodged into your back with the pain that was shooting down your spine and up the back of your neck
Suddenly you see a mop of yellow hair poke up in your vision–your boyfriend, Zeno who had his usual cheery smile on his face
“There you are! Zeno came to look for you since you were taking too long. Are you okay?” He asks as he holds a hand out for you
You take his hand and sit up, sucking in a breath as you feel something warm trickle down your back
“Zeno…do me a favor and check my back for me…” you trail off, your mind racing a million miles a second, thinking the worst
“Okay!”
Zeno gently lifts up the fabric covering your back and you hear him go quiet
Now, I imagine Zeno to be the type to remain calm so that he doesn’t worry you, he’d plaster a smile on his face and make sure you have nothing to worry about
SO that’s exactly that he does
“You had quite the fall! Why don’t we get you back to camp, don’t worry about the wood, Hak and Jae-ha can come get it,” his cheery voice explains behind you, lowering the fabric again before helping you to your feet
“But-” you start but he cuts you off
“Don’t worry, Yoon will check you out when we get back”
His positivity was enough to keep you from worrying further, so you sigh and take his outstretched hand
“Thank you,” you squeeze his hand and Zeno helps you walk back to camp, though you can’t really walk that fast, but you both eventually arrive
Yoon takes care of you, wiping the blood from your back and bandaging you up as a rock had in fact been lodged into your back, thankfully missing your spine though
Zeno waited outside your tent, praying up to the gods to keep you safe as he gave you your privacy to get cared for by Yoon, but as soon as Yoon leaves and updates him on your condition he enters your tent and takes a seat beside you
“Thanks for not telling me earlier that I was hurt. I think I would have freaked out, but I’m sure you knew that already”
“Yeah, Zeno knew you would be worried. You’re not mad?”
“Of course not. You did the right thing. It was stupid of me to go on my own anyway. A boar came out of nowhere and rammed straight into me.”
Zeno laughs and snuggles up to your side, thankful that you would be okay; he would be sure to keep a closer eye on you incase he needs to throw himself in front of a wild animal so you don’t get hurt again
REQUESTS ARE OPEN :D

stop i'm obsessed with you and your amazing brain
