All that discussion about french got me curious. Are french lessons in school inefficient? It doesn't seem like a lot of english native Canadians can speak it. I also do believe Canadian bilingualism is an important and special aspect, but it really doesn't feel like a reality. I learned english well, but it might have helped that it is needed for more than french can be, so maybe it also depends on your needs and motivation... Anyway, I was just always curious about that~

In my schools French was only required until Grade 9 (after that you needed language credits in high school to graduate but it could be any non-english language), and french content didn’t start until near the end of elementary school, so realistically for many people they only got 3-4 years of French language lessons.

The teaching of French imo, was not done well. You learn words, conjugations a few greetings and phrases, and that’s about it.

I can be polite and order food. That’s all I’ve retained from school.

But, I stopped taking it after Grade 9 because of a horrible teacher. Up until that point I was really enjoying it. I got other language credits in high school to make up for it (Japanese).

It’s a bit frustrating, I don’t feel my vote had any weight since I’m actually in Justin’s riding, so whatever I chose, he was sure to win here. But hey, Harper out~ (Still too much conservatives elected for me…)

It’s depressing people are still voting CPC but the Cons will have fuck all power in a Liberal majority tbh.

1. If you could live in any fictional place, which one would you choose?

AAAACK this is a hard question for a bookworm geek. ಠ_ಠ  Hogwarts, Narnia or the Grand Line. Mmmmh maybe Storybrooke? 

In the first I'd be a wizard, the second a magic tree or something, third one a retarded pirate with magical fruit powers and last one some random fairy tale character.

3. What book do you turn to when you need to feel better? Why?

Any book can make me feel better really, just because I love reading and it's comfort for the soul. I won't be original and say Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone. It's the first novel I read 15 years ago when I could barely read, and is synonymous of childhood and fantasy and adventure to me.

4. You can get any tattoo : painless and free. What would it be? Where would you place it?

I would want something with a tree and birds; with my head in the clouds but still grounded in reality. On my ribs, snaking its way up my side. 

5. Name a character that you can’t stand.

Hmmm I can't say I hate any character in any work of fiction I've liked, since even detestable or villainous characters can drive a well written story forward. Or I'll just not care about them. Okay, I really can't stand Edward Cullen and Bella Swan jfc. They're just unnecessary. OH, and Lysa Arryn from a Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones). OH, and Sheldon Cooper lol. 

6. Did you have a Twilight phase? (it’s okay, we all did) Lol refer to the above. My ''Twilight Phase'' was wondering what all the hype was about, trying to read through the books desperately thinking that this is a best seller, it has to get better at some point, rage quitting during the 4th book and relinquishing my faith in good litterature for a short while. 

7. What is your OTP?

Oh gawd. Errrr my shipping senses are kind of dulled since I'm not a sucker for romance. Also it really depends on what fandom I'm intense about at the moment. I do ship some stuff but with the force of a thousand suns I'd say... ok Outlaw Queen on OUAT gives me a lot of feels right now, but I'm still waiting to see how that develops over the rest of the 3rd season. With Rumbelle jfc, and some lingering Swan Queen in a friendshippy-kinda romance way? I dunno. And Mako and Gamagoori from Kill la Kill is adorable. And the Strawhat Crew is one massive 9 person (well okay, 6 person, 1 talking reindeer, 1 cyborg and 1 living skeleton) BROTP forever and ever.  TALK TO ME ABOUT BROTPs THOUGH AND I WILL LAUNCH INTO THAT IN FULL DETAIL. 

8. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I have no idea lol. Either somewhere in the journalistic/communications world, or if I can accomplish this dream of mine that costs a lot of money and is unfortunate because I live in friggin' Quebec, designing and creating costumes in the film/theatre industry. 

9. What is your biggest fear?

Not knowing where I'm heading in life, spending all of it searching for a purpose and not accomplishing any of my dreams. This is related to number 8 and terrifies me to the point of having anxiety attacks and it sucks. 

10. What show would you like to write for?

Game of Thrones! Or any adventure/fantasy show, considering it's my favourite genre.

11. What is the weirdest fanfiction ship that you looked up? (Minerva/Hagrid traumatized me)

Snape x The Teletubbies. Don't ask, I had no choice.

Sorry, I have a second question (but character limit...). I was wondering if someone could enlighten me one the bridging program thing? Because I did a 3 years program in animation (though it doesn't seem as elaborated, reason why I'd like to go to Sheridan), and I think that "program" let's you skip a year or something? Someone knows about that? Thank you very much again :)

Errr I don’t think it matters at all, you basically start with a blank slate for all animation courses once you’re enrolled in the animation program.

However, if you did take electives, you can call Sheridan and ask them if your electives are eligible for Sheridan elective credits, because you will need those also.

Hi! This is really random but I just saw you at the Q&A of Karren Gillian. I didn't know you were going to MCC! I wish I could have said hello for real as I really like your blog and you're kind of my reference when it comes to DW. Hope you had fun!

Ahhhhhh! That’s too bad! I wondered if you were going this year, I think we talked about it last year right, with Matt Smith?, but I can never remember anyone’s url. I motored out of there because I wanted to get in line for her autograph and I vastly overestimated how long autograph lines take!

I did have fun though! It was great. I hope you did too!

Well, quick update, Matt Smith just canceled this morning so I guess we will see no one after all. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, they seem to always end up cancelling the big names just before the con... Lots of pissed off people that wants their tickets refund though, and they most probably won't :\ Good thing you stayed where you are :P

Omg! It's Friday too wow I'd be so mad. Yeah I dunno man I did a con once with no one I cared about attending and it was fun enough, but at the time I thought "I'd only do this again if I cared about some of the guests/panels", lol I'd be mad if I bought tickets to some con and then the reason that I bought those tickets cancelled. That sucks.

Hello! I'm still unsure but I think I'd really like to apply for the animation program, but it's quite expensive. I guess I'm kind of curious as to how everyone can manage that? If someone had experience with scholarships? And I'm not from Ontario, so I was wondering about how life is in Toronto? Is it easy to find roommates, are there apartment near the school? Are they expensive? (money being mostly what's stopping me ._. ). Thank you very much!!

rent is ~$500/person for apartments near the school, if you find 4 people for a 2bdrm in 1297 Marlborough or 1360 White Oaks it’ll be about ~$350 per person plus whatever food and electricity expenses you’ll be having

We don’t really have scholarships for Sheridan itself but if you look into OSAP/general Canadian Student scholarships you could support yourself

And of course depending on your income you should be able to get enough OSAP to fund school.  Art supplies are pricey (maybe $200-$300 in total for first year) but they last the entire year + years after that, so.

Life in Toronto is great!  Life in Oakville,… er.  It is quite slow to be honest but it is a good life when there is school around!

To find roommates, I think just posting in the Sheridan tumblr tag and looking for people to befriend is cool.  Sheridan also has college residences if you don’t want to be encumbered with extra people baggage so look into that, too.
