         it was their own adamance in vigilantly taking hold of the seat they firmly planted into, keeping the mage who seemed to almost always bury herself in study & work company out of a place of concern. perhaps, a few layers of grated jealousy at the lack of importance they might've had in comparison to the great and powerful knowledge but still. valentine resigned themselves to watch, keep at bay, and provide potential idle chatter between the moments where she paused to adjust. 

         valentine even last recalled the small round of conversation that was shared. questions about what it was she was trying to pick up on this time. a back and forth for a few minutes before it returned to the comfortable silence it normally was. however, the series of events that lead them to this ... escaped their mind. the feeling of smooth fingers dragging something over their shoulders was what had made them jolt a little. upwards and a hand defensively goes to grasp her wrist to interfere.           glazed-over eyes that were still foggy with minor exhaustion reopen.   ❛  GALA?  ❜   the nickname they gave her slips out of their mouth quietly. head tilting to further inspect the additional weight. it wasn't bad. valentine knew it'd only smell of sweet berry pies, the scent unique to her which wasn't bad at all. for valentine, however, it wouldn't be enough to satiate lingering desires. such caring efforts coax their soul forth to unravel the more greedier sides of themself.
