A thought about the hero Klavier (or Kyoya) AU:

He's an inspiration, in particular, to Jiro

Oh, definitely! I think the Gavinners could very well be in America’s top ten, so being big name musical heroes is definitely inspiring to her.

Some opinions in 1-A:

Izuku – Obviously a fan, especially with how they make their generally overly specialized quirks work really well (helps Klavier is a pretty blond happy to show off his chest)

Bakugo – Thinks they focus too much on being pretty, mocks them for needing to be part of a team (definitely doesn’t get angrier when he sees Deku staring at a picture of Troubadour shirtless and immediately destroy it)

Uraraka – A fan, definitely had a crush on Klavier as a preteen

Todoroki – Who?

Kirishima – They’re manly as hell (Klavier would be… unsure how to take that compliment)

Denki – A fan for a similar reason as Jiro

Iida – Finds their attitude somewhat frivolous, doesn’t like them splitting attention between heroics and other jobs (especially Klavier being a prosecutor), but admits they’re effective

Aizawa – Too much glitter. Him and Ema would get along well by bitching about Klavier

Since the sixty members of the current teams have been announced, I will write the brief summary for the teams. I will do this again, once they receive their landmarks.

Team 1 - Shirayuki Reid / Hoshikawa Sara / Aruse Inu

Shibuya Hal’s bias is clearly shown as the team consists of Hal’s best friend, Hal’s Not Girlfriend, and one of best NeoPorte members with a point discount. Certainly a capable team, but as Hal himself comments, there are other strong teams on this tourney.

Team 2 - Nekota Tsuna / Tokoyami Towa / Yakumo Beni

Kind of expected, a return of the dynamic duo that is Tsuna and Towa with Beni on two. First of four teams where two strong members are accompanied by a Valorant leaning player. The trick is to make sure that the third person actually gets good and doesn't mess up.

Team 3 - Honma Himawari / Shiina Yuika / Utai Meika

The Kansai Team. Meika is gonna have to carry the team, because the other two are the closest to Hololive Gamers as Nijisanji Gamers gets, if you know what I mean. 

Team 4 - Hanabusa Lisa / Fura Kanato / Makaino Ririmu

The hinge is going to be Ririmu here. Going to be a fun team to watch with the combined energy of Lisa and Kanato juxtaposed with Rirmu’s quiet but improving soul.

Team 5 - Ichinose Uruha / Komori Met / Ibrahim

As Hal himself puts it, a really well-balanced team. With a good placement, they could probably place in the podium. And the banter between the three will be fantastic as well.

Team 6 - Virtual Gorilla / Yozuna Niu / Kaga Nazuna

Gorilla has much less of a struggle here, considering he has much more capable teammates this time around. Of course, who knows where Nazuna will pop off, but yeah.

Team 7 - Astel Leda / Asumi Sena / Ars Almal

Astel the troublemaker is back again, free from his self-imposed restraints, but the big problem for them is if Marumaru can keep up with the pace of the tournament.

Team 8 - Shishigami Leona / Inui Shinichiro / Hira Hikari

Off the beaten path, but I’m well versed in these parts, so the team itself is going to do fine. Didn’t know that Hikari was good at APEX though, although I heard after the announcement. These three are very good - Leona and Hikari are good at singing as well.

Team 9 - Pakael / Rikkaroid / Kuga Leo

An interesting mix. Rikkaroid is about halfway between a surefire win and a disaster. Kuga Leo getting measly 4 pt even though he teaches Valorant is one of the largest scams here.

Team 10 - Tachibana Hinano / Watanari Hibari / Uzuki Kou

This team basically is the leftover kind of cobble together. Apparently Inu (the NeoPorte guy) put Hibari on this team at his insistence. Well, it’s not going to be a mess, they are all capable.

Team 11 - Kurumi Noah / Higuchi Kaede / Tosaki Mimi

Another pretty solid lineup. Noah is the best that 9pt can give you, Deron always seems to pop off during opportune moments, and Mimi is a dependable member as well.

Team 12 - Shinomiya Runa / Kaminari Qpi / Hizaki Gamma

A surprising third, not that I mind. UPROAR is fantastic, although I think Gamma is the best out of the four (maybe except Uyu?). Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see the interaction here.

Team 13 - Natsuiro Matsuri / Elu the Elf / Aizawa Ema

The self-proclaimed Seiso team. Another well balanced team. Matsuri shines her best during tournaments due to her fantastic observation skills and Elu grinds APEX every afternoon.

Team 14 - Axel Syrios / Selen Tatsuki / Regis Altare

Selen was almost barred due to her past, but she deservingly received that 10 points. An all-English team, meaning ping is going to be terrible, but they are used to the disadvantage and their skills are absolutely enough to overcome that disadvantage. Will win a scrim or two.

Team 15 - Kaga Sumire / Yuki Chihiro / La+ Darknesss

Another two strong and a Valo player build. Sumire has put herself in very dark waters as she has put two of the best known kusogaki together in a high-stake competition.

Team 16 - Kanae / Lauren Iroas / Yuuhi Riri

All the players need one extra point. Absolute one of the stronger teams, all Nijisanji, all very much capable, long time competitors and so on. A team to watch, for sure.

Team 17 - Ha Yun / Yang Nari / Hijirime Laeria

Two NijiKR and Laeria, which is a surprising but a good choice. Definitely gets into the spirit of new but well-welcomed players here. Let’s see Nari can conquer World’s Edge as well.

Team 18 - Yukishiro Mahiro / Seto Miyako / And Uge

Kind of an aunt club, honestly. Not that they aren’t terrible players, Miyako has been playing APEX since the start and Uge is known to shine… and Mahimahi is the leader.

Team 19 - Ratna Petit / Naraka / Naruse Naru

Putechi’s team feels like your most prototypical VSaikyo team, if I were to be honest. Obviously three pretty strong players, if the mental doesn’t break, definitely could place at podium.

Team 20 - Kuzuha / Ex Albio / Fuwa Minato

Return of the AQF from Season 2. Looking at Fuwa’s previous team, I’m a bit worried at Ebio is going to leave the company soon, but whatever… let’s see if they can get serious.

Cyborg 009 The Stage Interview ft. Director Go Ueki & Hiroki Nanami

"Cyborg 009" is one of Shotaro Ishinomori's masterpieces. The first stage performance to commemorate the 60th anniversary will be performed at Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from May 18th (Saturday). The production is by Go Ueki, and the screenplay is by Shinjiro Kameda. 009/Hiroki Nanami as Joe Shimamura, Ema Tenka (voice appearance), Shunichi Takahashi, Minori Sonica, Masamichi Satonaka, Daito Sakuraba, Toshiya Sakai, Kazuma Kawahara, Toyotaka as fellow cyborg warriors. Hiroo Otaka plays Dr. Gilmore. Standing in front of them are Ryo Takizawa as 0010/Plus and Shiki, Rita Aizawa as 0010/Minus and Riku, and Kohei Nakatsuka as Skaar. With rehearsals in full swing, we interviewed Go Ueki and Hiroki Nanami.

Q: How is the response so far?

Nanami: There are so many. Now that I know what to do, I just want the audience to see it as soon as possible. Everyone is so cool! Ueki: From the first day of rehearsals, everyone has sublimely made the characters their own, showing us zero-zero number cyborgs that can only be seen on stage. The performance and acting are wonderful, and the response is great.*

Q: What were your initial impressions of each other and what has been your impression since working together?*

Nanami: I was really happy because I had seen some of Go-san's productions and had hoped to work with him someday. I was nervous at first because I think of directors as teachers, ``people who teach me,'' and they have a sharp image, but Go-san is the type of person who takes everything in a positive light. The rehearsal room is fun because they bring out each individual's individuality. Because he's such a personable person, everyone is like, "I'll follow Go-san!" (laughs). Although it was our first time meeting, there was a very homey atmosphere. Ueki: Honestly, I thought he was a little scary because he is so cool. Nanami: We both are (laughs). Ueki: Yes (laughs). I was nervous because of his strong aura, but he was very kind. I feel like having someone like this as the chairperson creates such a wonderful atmosphere, and I think the fans would be happy if they were supporting someone like this. I think everyone else is pulled by the desire to deliver wonderful things to attendees, and the company is moving forward in a straight line. Nanami: We have members who put their hearts into great performances. Also, Go-san's direction is very precise. When someone says something difficult to me, I tend to get lost in thought and end up going in the wrong direction. I think it's good that Go-san can say without hesitation, ``This is cool.''

Q: From Ueki's point of view, what do you feel about the charm of Nanami's portrayal of 009/Joe Shimamura?*

Ueki: The story begins when Joe wakes up, and I think everyone can watch it with the same feeling as 009. That's because of Nanami-san's honest expression. I can clearly feel the emotion of ``I want to show this here'', so as a director, I often receive advice from (Nanami). There are many parts where the strength of the script comes out even more through Nanami-san's performance, and we are making adjustments based on what we notice. It's really cool. Nanami: It feels embarrassing every time you say it. But I'm happy. Ueki: (Nanami) has a lot of respect from everyone.* Nanami: Really? I thought that people would be worried about me because I had made a lot of mistakes at practice and had everyone tell me what I couldn't do. Ueki: No, no. Nanami: Each one (of us) has a high level of skill and is very passionate about expression. I feel that we are mutually enhancing each other.

Q: What part do you pay particular attention to when acting?

Nanami: In this work, Joe Shimamura, who was just a human, becomes a cyborg. I hope I can express the changes in my feelings. I think a normal person would be in a situation where they would be very confused, but Joe is highly adaptable and his desire to ``fight together with everyone!'' grows stronger and stronger. Up until now, I had been lonely and had no one to open my heart to, so I was drawn to the words ``we are brothers,'' and I felt like I wanted to cherish the members who were in the same situation as me as I played the role.

Q: If you had to describe the charm of Nanami's portrayal of Joe, in one word, what would it be?*

Nanami: Joe Shimamura, drawn by Shotaro Ishinomori, is a very loving person. I think he is a person of justice and love, who understands his circumstances and confronts even his enemies. Ueki: I think it can be summed up in 002/Jet Link's words, "You are the one who understands the good things about everyone."* Joe knows everyone's feelings, even his enemies' feelings. While watching Nanami-san I always think (Nanami) is like that too.

Q: Please tell us the highlights of the stage version.

Ueki: Even when making videos, what I want to show most is people. I think it's important to have physicality and energy coming off the board, and that's what the work is like at the moment. As I had mentioned with everyone the other day, I think it's really shocking when a modified person fires a machine gun from his own body. When I told them that I wanted them to portray those parts as actors, they expressed it very well. My enthusiasm has increased even more, and I feel that there is a meaning to performing on stage. Nanami: Go-san said, ``There may be parts where you don't know what's going on in the rehearsal room, but when you add effects and things like that, it becomes cool. As long as you believe in your portrayal, you'll be fine.'' I think it incorporates all the best things that can be expressed on stage. When video is used, it doesn't change no matter how many times you watch it, but people are the ones who can add color to it by thinking, ``It might have looked different today.'' I think the overall highlight will be everyone's performance and spirit.*

Q: Do you have a favorite scene?

Nanami: I was worried about the introduction scene for the Zero Zero Number (Cyborgs).* It's very cool, and everyone has their place in the story. Even if you come to see the show without knowing anything beforehand, you should be able to know everyone's names and abilities by the time you leave.
