A Tale of Two Journeys: Discovering the Magic of Morocco and the Serenity of Myanmar
Travel is a soul-searching adventure, a tapestry of experiences woven with the threads of culture, history, and environment. It is more than just getting from one location to another. We'd like to offer you two exceptional adventures in this article: one to the colorful landscapes of Morocco Vacation Packages from India and the other to the peaceful beauty of Myanmar. These journeys are odysseys that will fully immerse you in the spirit of two distinct worlds, not simply regular vacations.
Morocco Tours: A Mosaic of Colors and Contrasts
Imperial Cities and Timeless Medinas
Our Morocco tour starts in Marrakech, the "Red City," where you'll be mesmerized by the throbbing souks, the spectacular Bahia Palace, and the entrancing atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa plaza. Following that, the journey brings you to the historic city of Fez, where the UNESCO-listed medina, a complex web of history and creativity, seems to be a time machine.
Desert Dreams and Atlas Adventures
A trip into the mysterious Sahara Desert is a highlight of our vacation in Morocco. You can camp out under a big sky full of stars, ride gorgeous camels across golden dunes, and watch the flaming sunrise over the Sahara. As you travel farther into Morocco, you'll come to the untamed Atlas Mountains, where Berber settlements like Imlil and Ait Ben Haddou offer a glimpse at long-gone customs set against a backdrop of towering peaks.
Culture, Cuisine, and Connection
Our trip to Morocco combines sensory immersion with a visual extravaganza. Your meal will be served in an actual riad, where the flavors of Moroccan food will tempt your taste buds. The techniques for making tagine or couscous can be learned through hands-on cooking instruction, and bargaining in the maze-like souks is a great way to find gems that will make priceless keepsakes.
Myanmar Tours: The Golden Land Awaits
Bagan's Temples and Mandalay's Mystique
Our Myanmar vacation starts in the ethereal city of Bagan, where you'll ride up into the air in a hot air balloon to see the sunrise illuminate thousands of historic temples and pagodas. You'll take a close look at these holy places and delve into the legends carved into their stones. You will visit the venerated Mahamuni Buddha and experience the serene rhythms of monastic life in Mandalay, the cultural center of Myanmar.
Inle Lake's Serenity and Yangon's Contrasts
Life emerges on the water in Inle Lake, a tranquil paradise. Discover the distinctive Intha culture here, stroll among floating settlements, and take in the amazing sight of a fisherman rowing their boats with just one leg. The bustling metropolis of Yangon in Myanmar offers a sharp contrast with its colonial-era buildings and lively markets. A symbol of Myanmar's spiritual legacy, the Shwedagon Pagoda shines like a golden light.
Intimate Encounters and Immersive Experiences
Our Myanmar Luxury Holiday Packages from Mumbai go beyond the typical tourist trappings, providing close-up cultural experiences like customary tea rituals and trips to monasteries where you can interact with the resident monks. You'll tour regional markets and learn about the hospitable citizens of Myanmar's daily lives.
Conclusion: Journeys of the Heart
The common language of travel connects Morocco and Myanmar, two seemingly unrelated places. Our excursions are created to immerse you in their soul, to link you with their people, and to make an everlasting impression on your heart and spirit, not merely to highlight their beautiful landscapes and historic treasures.
These are once-in-a-lifetime experiences that bring together the paths of culture, history, and environment. They are invitations to delve further into two different yet equally compelling worlds, where the warmth of the welcome is the only thing that can match the delight of discovery. Will you heed the call of these amazing odysseys? Morocco and Myanmar are ready to share their beauty with you.

Excursion to the Desert: Day 1
Tuesday morning we wake for our last breakfast at the Villas and load the cars for a 3 day excursion with Desert Majesty. We are 10 women in 2 cars - 6 of us from the art retreat in one car and Coco (our travel agent) and her friends in the other car. As we depart, our driver Abdullah, tells us we have about 6 hours of driving and lots of stops today. I could not believe the traffic - all tour vans as we depart Marrakesh.
First stop before lunch: Telouet Kasbhah, a historic site in small village. At this point, we had already driven a lot of “zig zags” (hairpin turns) of the Atlas Mountains and had to make several stops for those who were car sick. Since I don’t get car sick, I was in the way back of the van, but that didn’t prevent the anxiety of the mountain roads and tailgating culture! After we wandered the historic site, we had lunch at a small rooftop cafe. The landscape was just amazing and the drive took us through so many villages. After lunch we made another stop at a UNESCO World Heritage site, Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou. This site still has families living in it, but also felt like a tour attraction at the same time. It has been a popular site for filming like The Gladiator and Game of Thrones and the nearby city had large movie studios and movie themed art and sculptures. We wandered this site for quite some time and a few of us climbed to the very top for amazing views (and interesting to see solar panels on the ancient structures). We continue driving to the Valley of the Roses with a quick ATM stop, but it’s dark before we arrive. Our driver called ahead and asked a shop keeper to stay open for a shopping/bathroom break, so we all bought some handmade beauty products.
Let me pause here and tell you about our bathroom stops...our first stop was a tourist stop with at least 20 vans pulled up out front. The restrooms are sometimes coed, but with men’s/women’s stalls once you get inside. And we had to often pay an attendant coins to enter and/or get toilet paper, so we quickly started carrying our own kleenex, hand sanitizer and took turns paying for each other depending on who had coins! As we progressed into the mountains, sometimes our bathroom stops were just “squat toilets” in the back of shops were you asked for coins and then to shop on your way out.
We finally get to Chez Ichou, our lovely guesthouse for the evening after 9 pm. After we all freshen up, we gather for dinner in a cozy dining room with a warm fireplace blazing. No matter how late, we always have a formal meal. I actually laid my head on the table at one point and another friend says she will leave dinner at 10:30 no matter what course we are on! I don’t leave dinner until 11:15 and got a great night sleep with the heater on and big cozy duvet.

DAY 2 : DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA – BERBER TENTS.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart Dades valley for Todra gorge, where we may marvel at the large number of kasbahs and their unique beautiful features. From Tineghir, a nice asphalt road travels up the valley to the gorge and then to the desert. The scenery is breathtaking. Locals dwell in the area, and their adobe villages can be observed. These gorges are popular with rock climbers due to their various uneven surfaces on the rock sides. After a short walk through the Todra gorges, you’ll have time to stop at Touroug for lunch before continuing on to Erfoud. You’ll pay a visit to a local fossil craft shop. After that, you’ll travel to Erg Chebbi’s fascinating sand dunes.Following that, you will travel to the fascinating Erg Chebbi Dunes, commonly known as Merzouga Dunes. We return to Merzouga on camels after sunrise, where a sumptuous breakfast awaits us. Then we’ll skirt the Erg Chebbi, a vast stretch of sandy desert where we’ll locate Morocco’s Big Dune, which stands more than 250 meters high. We next continue on the road that was once utilized for the “Paris – Dakar” race, which ends in the Algeria Mountains. Stopping in Tissardmin oasis, where we can still see fossil quarries, we continue on a route where we can observe nomad settlements and learn about their secrets and customs. The next stop will be at a lookout point to take in the beauty of Erg Chebbi. We’ll then arrive at Kamilia Village, which is originally from Mali, where we’ll enjoy a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a Gnawa spiritual music event. Transfer to your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the town or watching the sunset from the dunes close to the hotel. In the motel for dinner and the night. We pause here to take in the spectacular view of the valley and the village of Aoufous from this high vantage point. We make another stop at Midelt (Apple’s capital), where we have free time for lunch in the heart of the Atlas.
