Here's all the things I drew for Art Fight. Considering I joined in on the tail end of the event, I think I managed quite a bit. Featured characters belong to @aishutoon, @nintendonut1, @vineuioe, @missd476, and @lemmykirby.

I had fun drawing all of your characters, and I think I may take part in next year's event. Probably joining sooner into it next time.

Just curious, what does Delphi’s symbol represent? It kinda looks like a seashell or the heart of Te Fiti from Moana…

Excellent question!

So as for the origins of the symbol, it's based off a necklace we see in game on one of Delphi's members.

This necklace was exclusive to Second Opinion and I thought it would be nice to expand on it more to have it be the official symbol of the group. (And I have all members of Delphi wearing it.)

As for what it stands for... well, the game never really gave an explanation for why the pendant looks the way it does. So, what you're about to read is how we spun it.

The swirl patterns we went with represent snakes. Though, unlike the Rod of Asclepius or the Caduceus emblem, the snakes are curled here and are dead. Delpi's main ideology is centered around the concept of wanting to lead "natural" lives through finally achieving death and doing away with medicine entirely. Basically, entering a state of blissful rest.

The center snake is representative of their leader, Lord Adam. (He was mentioned briefly during Chapter 11 so I have no issue mentioning him here.) The one who will lead them to that blissful slumber.

Then the 7 snakes around it, represent the GUILT strains. There's also another thing they stand for but can't reveal till later because spoilers. (Though, those who have played the games, you might already know.)

And that's it.

Apologies for not getting to some questions sooner been tied up in work. XD I have time now so expect some to be answered now. We thank you for your patience.

I cannot help but feel it would be a bad idea. Their traumas are similar in some ways, but their backstories and how they reacted to them are implied to have been very, very different. Can you imagine meeting the one person who should logically understand you better than anyone, only to discover that, while the end results may be similar, the process of getting there was almost completely different? And that, as a result, your similarities are in many ways only surface level, and while you have many common interests, you have very little common ground?

(gazes quietly into the distance, hands folded neatly in my lap, face painted with the serenity of one who has watched the end of the world and was then put back into the world with nothing but the memory to prove the destruction happened)

Best to let them stay separate, I think, or at least delay their meeting until a far defter hand than mine can write it.

…imagine Ballister Blackheart and Ballister Boldheart getting dimension-swapped. Suddenly Blackheart’s facing down this golden retriever version of Ambrosius who’s willingly and easily apologizing and a Nimona who’s very different, but also very similar to his own and whom, most especially, is still here. Meanwhile over at Blackheart’s place Boldheart is met with a much brattier version of Ambrosius than he’s used to (but who’s also so much older than him and who keeps startling when he sees Ballister and looking like maybe his heart’s breaking a little (especially whenever Ballister runs into a part of living with a prosthesis that he hasn’t quite gotten used to yet) and also insists on fussing over him) and this insane yet utterly fantastic scientist who’s very excited to meet him.

Meanwhile, Ambrosius is having a bit of a crisis because fuuuuuuuck, his bae’s going to age so well but also this isn’t his Ballister, be strong, hands off (he remains strong, but oof, the image of an older Ballister with longer hair and an undercut is going to Haunt Him)! Meanwhile meanwhile, Ambrosius is having a regular old crisis because fuuuuuuck, Ballister caught him looking guilty while looking at his prosthesis and told him not to worry, that’s how they were trained to disarm an enemy, he’s forgiven him. Meaning he gets the joy of having to explain what went down in this universe, aka The Joust, and you ever get to experience the joy of learning that the multiverse is real and you’re the version of you living in the dystopian setting? Or the closest thing to it?

 Also, yes, all this is the result of Blackheart and Blitzmeyer doing SCIENCE and it having unexpected consequences. Boldheart determines that he needs to find out if there’s a Blitzmeyer in his universe and meet her as soon as he gets home.

Originally I added the bandages to mirror my real hands being covered in Band-Aids when I made my sona. :0 (It was due to cat scratches and dry skin don't worry-)

Now they represent my "artist hands".... and my still really dry skin XDD

Oh yeah absolutely. His crab arm is so heavy that if he falls into the water he'll sink 😬 he cant move it fast enough to help him swim to the surface.. good thing Blue Beauty is always nearby! <XD

It also takes a lot of energy to move and he deals with sore back/shoulder muscles a lot. The way the crab arm formed, its like all the muscles in his back are used to lift and operate it. When he walks around he kind'a uses it as a crutch or a third leg. His legs each take a step and then his crab arm lifts forward and clunks on the ground.

"tap tap.. CLUNK. tap tap.. CLUNK."

Despite all this though, Louis still really likes his new arm and isn't bothered much by all the hardships it brings :)

As for Grim's eyes, I mention that coloring mistake in the tags of this post. It was simply a matter of me misremembering what Gengar looks like :// But I'm thinking I'll keep his white eyes anyways. He looks a lot more friendly that way :}}

As for Sylveon, I like to think that tying his ribbons around others like that is his way of giving them a hug :}} Since Grim is so r o u n d, there's not many places the ribbons can comfortably tie and not be in Grim's way. His ears are the perfect spot! :}

The very best I can explain my art process is; "I just.. draw it. And if it doesn't feel right, I just draw it differently until it does feel right." Its all down to muscle memory and drawing what "feels" right. I don't think I'm able to explain that-- 😭😭😭 I'm very sorry! <:'(((

that's a good point tbh. maybe that'd be the main obstacle in it there's also that idea of sonic being claustrophobic from that one boom comic where he's stuck in a cage, like... he hates being restrained i feel like he might have a fight or flight reaction to robots in general considering his entire childhood up to current day, he just usually chooses violence

i remember drawing a thing of what raz would look like from his pov if you used the clairvoyance thing and it'd change depending on what state he was in, like... at first he sees him as an enemy so he's like a little egg pawn, but once he gets flashed with the camera thing he sees him as one of those lightning bug hotaru enemies from cd and mania. still a thing to be attacked and destroyed, but related to the behavior he's seen. after they're friends i thought it'd be funny if he saw him as tails in raz's clothes lol

wondering if sonic in his frenzied state would see everything as scary and messed up like he did in the shattered world arc of the comics or if it'd more so follow the non-personal theme of this is a robot robots will hurt me and i need to destroy it

another good idea for setting might be knothole...

it really depends on if i'm considering canon sonic or my interpretation of him lol
