Hi!! I post very rambling and sometimes bad things about The Children of Húrin and also about the horrors of Angband, the status and place of former prisoners in first age Beleriand and similar topics. Mostly focusing on Maedhros and Húrin but others too! I really enjoy world building and meta.

so I was thinking of Silas (as one does) and the recent fic for him and then it hit me. Silas had a twin sister. She’s dead.

I'm not sure how Airin's sister died, but Silas and his sister went a bit too close to the surface to catch food (he thinks they were going to sink a ship and drag the bodies home, but he can't really remember bc it was like 50 years ago), and Mei got speared by a harpoon straight through the stomach. It could've been an accident, but as far as Silas was aware, the humans caught sight of them somehow and fired a harpoon gun at them. It got Mei and she died quite quickly, at least? But it was right in front of Silas so that's very unpleasant.
