The nine-seater aircraft can reach a cruising speed of 300 km/h and fly over distances of up to 3 thousand km, and with a payload weighing 2 tons - 1.5 thousand km. The first Baikal aircraft are planned to be produced in 2025.

The imported Superjet SJ-100 made its second flight Rostec said: During the flight, the crew retracted the landing gear, checked the operation of the air conditioning and automatic pressure control systems in the cabin, as well as the operation of the anti-icing system of the engine air intakes and the operation of the fuel system in the cross-feed mode with the pumps on and off. During the landing, an automatic braking system was tested with the release of air brakes. A prototype of the short-haul aircraft SJ-100 was manufactured by the production center of PJSC Yakovlev (part of Rostec). As Rostec said earlier, in total, about 40 systems and units were replaced on the import-independent Superjet. To speed up the test program, the prototype uses Franco-Russian SaM146 engines. The second prototype will soon begin a flight test program with domestic PD-8 engines, which are currently undergoing a series of bench tests and flight tests as part of the Il-76LL flying laboratory.
