This song made me think of when Maglor and Maedhros found Elrond and Elros after the 3rd kinslaying in the first age. Of course I had to then translate it. I split the lyrics up a bit, so they both had lines. (Also left out the chorus in the transcriptions)

Under the Spotlight

The story opens with the Aqours members preparing for a concert, set in one of their familiar venues. They've been rehearsing all day, and the atmosphere is one of excitement, but also exhaustion.

The scene shifts to the dressing room, where everyone is getting ready. The energy is light, with Anchan cracking jokes while Suwawa teases Shukashuu for her sleepy look. The rest of the group—Arisha, Kinchan, Furirin, and Ainya—are talking about their favorite concert memories. As usual, Rikako and Aikyan sit beside each other, comfortable in each other’s presence.

Rikako’s mind drifts back to all the times she’s spent with Aikyan—how they’ve grown close over the years of working together, and how Aikyan’s coolness always makes her feel flustered. She steals a glance at Aikyan, who’s fixing her blue hair in the mirror, and admires how effortlessly cool she looks. Aikyan catches her looking and smirks.

“Aida-san, something on your mind?” Aikyan teases, her voice low but playful.

Rikako, caught off guard, laughs and shakes her head. “No, just… tired, I guess.”

The room clears out slowly, with the other girls heading to stage for some final checks. Soon, it’s just Rikako and Aikyan left in the dressing room. The quiet between them feels natural but charged with something more.

Aikyan stands up, stretching her arms before leaning against the counter, her eyes fixed on Rikako with an intensity that makes Rikako’s heart race.

“You’ve been acting weird all day,” Aikyan says, stepping closer. “You’re usually the one making jokes, but today you’re quiet. What’s going on?”

Rikako hesitates, biting her lip. “I’m just thinking about how far we’ve come… and about you.” Her voice softens on the last part.

Aikyan’s expression softens too. She steps closer, her height making her presence more imposing. Rikako looks up at her, and the tension between them thickens.

“You’re always overthinking, Aida-san,” Aikyan says softly. “Sometimes it’s better to just… act.”

Before Rikako can reply, Aikyan cups her face gently, her thumb brushing along Rikako’s cheek. The air between them crackles with anticipation, and Aikyan leans in, her cool breath fanning across Rikako’s lips before she closes the distance, capturing her mouth in a firm but tender kiss.

Rikako is momentarily stunned, her mind going blank as Aikyan leads the kiss with a confident, slow rhythm. Her heart pounds, but after the initial shock, she melts into it, her arms instinctively wrapping around Aikyan’s waist, pulling her closer. Aikyan deepens the kiss, tilting Rikako’s head slightly, making her shiver.

The kiss is passionate but grounded in the reality of their connection—years of working together, of teasing, laughing, and growing close. It’s a kiss that feels like it’s been building for a long time, and now that it’s happening, it’s everything they both imagined.

When they finally pull apart, breathless, Rikako’s cheeks are flushed, and Aikyan is smiling, looking as cool as ever.

“See?” Aikyan says, her voice barely above a whisper. “Sometimes it’s better to just go for it.”

Rikako laughs softly, still trying to catch her breath. “You really are too cool for your own good.”

They hear footsteps approaching, and before they can say more, the rest of the members return, oblivious to what just happened. Aikyan winks at Rikako before returning to her usual playful self, chatting with the others as if nothing had changed.

But Rikako knows things have changed—between her and Aikyan, something unspoken has finally come to the surface, and even though they’re surrounded by the rest of the Aqours members, she can’t help but sneak glances at Aikyan throughout the rest of the night, her heart still racing.
