silence does not equal consent

i’m assuming everyone on tumblr, or at least the people who follow me know an inkling about what happened with melanie martinez. for those who don’t, however, here’s the scoop. melanie’s former best friend, timothy heller accused melanie of raping her in 2015. melanie responded to the allegations by saying “she never said no to what we chose to do together”. silence does NOT equal consent. 

timothy reponded to that by explaining that melanie got her high out of her wits to the point where she was physically unable to say no. that is still rape, that is still sexual assault.
