just realised i’ve hit 700 followers! wanted to quickly say a huge thank you, and—as always—remind you to show some love to the writers!

also, apologies for the lack of updates recently. i’ve not been reading as much nowadays as i’m currently working on something that’s been taking up a lot of my time, but hopefully it’ll be worth it! updates will pick up soon, however!

last book: the unmaking of june farrow by adrienne young (please someone come talk to me about it)

last movie: a complete unknown (I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!) / polar opposites (I watched it on my couch and it was surprisingly cute for a hallmark movie)

last tv show: the recruit (I’m doing a rewatch before the new season)

sweet/savory/spicy: savory/spicy (I carry hot sauce and red pepper flakes in my purse)

relationship status: single and it seems like a lot of work to do something about that rn tbh (stealing Jordan’s answer verbatim because real)

last thing i googled: the tracking status on the madewell jeans and top I’m waiting on to be delivered

current obsession: salt and vinegar chips, Southern Hospitality on Bravo, books to read that won’t put me in a book slump, Bradley Bradshaw doing ceramics, finding The Civil Wars Barton Hollow album on vinyl

looking forward to: the aforementioned madewell order being delivered, Tom Sandoval being voted off S3 of The Traitors, the new season of Summer House, the pasta fagioli soup I’m planning on making later this week

@brotherskywalker asked about my GW2 characters, so I thought I'd make some posts for them :)

This is my main, Lady Althea Fairchild. She's a fiercely Ascalonian noblewoman born in Ebonhawke, though raised in Divinity's Reach by her mother, Minister Ailoda, and the family's servants. Althea was always clever and proud, but apart from her intense concern for her people, seemed a fairly superficial young aristocrat and got on well with her oldest friend, Lord Faren.

The Order of Whispers, however, saw potential where few others did, and patiently waited until the time was ripe to recruit her into the Order. Sure enough, she has thrived as a Whispers agent among the nobility, and passed on large swaths of valuable information to the Order, quickly proving her worth.

I already have a long fic (and now a shorter one) about my headcanon version of the human female GW2 PC, but anyway, here are some factoids about mine at the outset of the GW2 story!

Name: Althea Fairchild

Age: 21 (b. 1304)

Birthplace: Ebonhawke, Ascalon (but moved with her family to Divinity’s Reach, Kryta, as a young child)

Residence: currently Minister’s Manor, Salma District, Divinity’s Reach (previously Langmar Manor, Rurikton, Divinity’s Reach)

Parents: Lord Edmund Fairchild of Ebonhawke (father, dead) and Minister Ailoda Langmar of Divinity’s Reach (mother)

Ethnicity: Ascalonian and Krytan (mainly Ascalonian, which she identifies with and is proud of)

Appearance: medium brown hair; grey eyes; light brown complexion; 5′2″ with a medium build; attractive but forgettably so

Other notable relations: Sergeant Deborah Fairchild of the Seraph (sister, presumed dead), Lady Elwin Fairchild of Ebonhawke (paternal aunt), Lady Irene Fairchild of the Vanguard (ancestor), Captain Samantha Langmar of Ascalon (ancestor), Lady Althea Barradin (namesake and cousin many times removed)

Other major connections: Lord Faren of Kryta (close friend), Countess Anise of the Shining Blade (mentor/trainer), Queen Jennah of Kryta (liege)

Other notes: performed well academically, but disinterested in research without direct application; a skilled mesmer, but disinterested in fighting within a military structure; hostile to the Charr, but not a Separatist.

Order status: under consideration. Further observation needed.

i adore having tumblr friends/mutuals. i love it so much. it’s like the purest form of friendship, but it’s also terrifying because what if one day they just vanish? like, no goodbye, no explanation—just poof. life pulls them somewhere else. it’s not ‘falling out of touch’; it’s losing someone to the void. i’m just here scared that one day, i’ll never hear from them again. it’s like being in a super good relationship where your only fear is them dying.

oh my DAYS.

had my interview yesterday and didn’t realise i had to do a presentation until i got in the room. turns out, they didn’t send me the presentation pack 👍🏻 stayed up ALL bloody night planning, writing, and recording a presentation to send to them this morning.

i’m preemptively pissed. others had a whole week to do it. i have a feeling i’m not getting the job.

anywho, as soon as i get some sleep and food in me, updates will be incoming! so sorry for the delays these past few days <33

allow me to paint a picture. you’ve planned a meal and been looking forward to it for days. you’ve been so excited that you’re physically giddy. only for it to be underwhelming and disappointing. the days of excitement? useless and undeserved. your current emotions? depressed and questioning your life’s choices.

hiya sugarplums!

went to bed last night and woke up to over 500 of you all—which is crazy! i didn’t think my little library would be used by anyone but myself, so i’m very surprised but also extremely grateful that it’s just as beneficial to me as it is to you all.

of course, a massive thank you must go to the writers, whose talent and creativity make this small corner of the internet possible. your work brings me so much comfort and i’m so grateful to be able to spread the love! <3 please continue to support them by commenting and sharing their work!

now, i’m not a writer (…not yet at least 👀) so there’s not much i can offer in terms of a thank you or celebrating. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please send them my way as i’d love to do something!

i’ve just had my final assignment results back and i got an 85, so super super happy! it puts me on the very cusp between a merit (2:1) and a distinction (first) for my masters overall, so really hoping they’re feeling nice and round up 🤞🤞

panic over and now i can look forward to my graduation in july 🎉

if anyone knows anything at all about html/custom css, pls help. been trying to change fonts for my text posts for DAYS and no idea where i’m going wrong.

anyone know how to code different fonts in a post’s html thingy? trying desperately to have some times new roman font or something as a header. i’ve somehow done a gradient, but anything else is above my skill level/understanding 😂
