Makoto Yuki deserved nothing but good things in his life. That’s what you’ve always known and what you’ve wanted to do for him if you were able to. A great leader, a great friend, and an even wonderful boyfriend. Even if you’ve only known each other for almost a year, you didn’t think you could find anyone after Makoto.

Lifting his head from your shoulder, he turned his gaze to the clothing in your grasp. A single eye going over the details visible from his blue hair.

“It looks really nice.” Makoto complimented, hand touching the soft fabric.

“Can you try it on?” you asked eagerly.

“Okay.” he nods, shrugging his blazer off.

It fitted perfectly, purposefully a tad oversized to give cozy comfort. It was also the same colour as your eyes, which he personally requested.

Smiling proudly and fondly, you wrapping your arms his waist. Resting your ear against his heart, you heard it thrum.

Makoto returned your affection, softly yet firmly holding you close as he pressed his face against your hair, rubbing the back of your head. For someone who grew up away from physical touch since he was an orphan, it was foreign and unnatural. As much as he bonded with his confidants, he physically kept them at arms length. Even Aigis, who would follow him and guard his well-being, no one could turn Koromaru away, Junpei with his brazenness, and Elizabeth with all her eccentricity. But you changed that when he fell for you. Holding you felt natural and serene.

Just as you desired it, Makoto didn’t want to let go of you either.

“It fits well. I’ll keep it always.” he sincerely said.

A happy smile could not stop gracing your lips as a light blush spread your cheeks. Squeezing him a a little tighter, you hoped to have more of these moments come.

I kind of wished there was more Yosuke X reader content, though ig that’s what Yu’s for, but I was never really able to self-insert as him since I’m a woman

And I totally get it honestly, all Persona MCs starting from 3 in particular seem to really lean into the 'self-insert' aspect, especially with the Social Link aspect. It doesn't help that apart from P3P, all MCs that act this way are male - which doesn't really help tbh. I don't count Aigis from FES because even though she's the MC there, she very clearly isn't meant to be a self-insert as FES's plot is a direct sequel to the plot of P3, where she's already her own distinct character.

For me personally I just find it difficult period to yume by self-inserting in the MC's position most of the time. I yume in Limbus Company and Fire Emblem Fates as well, and my inserts are not Dante/Corrin. The only time I can do so is in games like Arknights, and that's because the MC there (the Doctor) is much more of a blank slate compared to MCs like Yu.

I think another fact that makes it hard to insert as MC is the fact that Yu has such a distinct and memorable character, at least for me. My first exposure to Persona 4 was the anime series, and I really loved how Yu was portrayed there, and that sort of carried over to me seeing Yu not as a self-insert but as a distinct character tbh. The anime in general did such a good job in giving the generic "self-insert MC" in Yu have a memorable personality that just...makes sense in the context of Persona 4 I guess is how I'd explain it? Idk man English is hard sometimes

Agree with the Yosuke x reader comment too. I think it has something to do with how Yosuke was seen in the fandom tbh? A long time ago it almost felt like people had a bit of a hate boner for Yosuke so it feels like there isn't much of an audience for it y'know? And a lot of people nowadays still don't like him for stuff like his attitudes and comments.

But yeah, I think that's several others way on how to explain the lack of Yosuke content catered to yumejo hsshhs, I want to share some of my yume stuff here too tbf but I'm scared-

there's a palpable tension between the members of sees when you join, as ALL OF THEM quickly end up falling for their lovable and sweet new team member!

some of them quickly jump at the idea of dating you, like junpei, yukari or kotone, while others are more reluctant to share you with someone else, like akihiko, shinjiro or aigis

it'll take at least a month or two for your relationship to fall into place and become something that is long term sustainable

there are certainly little groups within sees forming when it comes to who gets to go on dates with you or who gets to do certain activities with you

for one, there are akihiko and shinjiro, who quickly warm up to the idea of sharing you with one another. they'll help each other out, whether it's about presents for you or solving any troubles coming your way

mitsuru occasionally is part of their little dynamic as well, helping the boys when they reached their limits, while also joining them on dates with you!

though mainly, mitsuru and yukari have an alliance going on. those two make the perfect girlfriends for you, always supporting each other, as well as the other girls around them!

fuuka and aigis are new to relationships and struggle a bit with having their first relationship be a polyamorous one, but yukari and mitsuru, as well as kotone, always help them out

fuuka and aigis are the ones most likely to take you on dates with nobody else joining, as they need to get a feel for how dates work, before they feel comfortable sharing you with the others on group dates

junpei is also the type to enjoy lone dates with you, but mainly because he's a bit jealous of everyone else at first and wants to keep you to himself. but as he opens up over time, he'll join yukari & mitsuru or akihiko & shinjiro on dates with you, teasing and annoying them playfully

and lastly, there are the two leaders of sees: kotone and makoto! those two are quite similar, despite their differences

kotone quickly latches onto you and she'll spend every free second with you. she doesn't mind if the other girls are around as well or if it's akihiko and shinjiro who go on a date with you and her

meanwhile makoto is more reserved. you might think he's not a fan of sharing you with others or might even believe he doesn't enjoy dating you. but he just takes some time to adjust to a relationship with you, especially when it comes to sharing you!

makoto and kotone are both incredibly protective of you, which you'll mainly see in battle! but even outside of tartarus, you'll notice them scaring off anyone outside of sees who dares flirting with you

after all, you are dating them! you're sees's partner and while they don't mind sharing you with their friends, they don't enjoy seeing strangers flirt with you!

a/n: i don't know what came over me to write this, but since it's april fools day today, you'll get it!

“are you– uhm… mated with someone?”

aigis’ words caught you off guard, almost making you choke on your drink. when she had told you she had something important to talk about with you, you hadn't expected this question.

“i– am i… what?”

aigis nervously glanced to the side, away from the place the two of you were standing and towards the lounge, where junpei sat.

“are you… m-mated with someone already?”

there was a long moment of silence. aigis looked at you, seemingly eagerly awaiting your reply. meanwhile you awkwardly looked away, unsure how to reply to that.

“b-because… you are quite the babe”

aigis tried to turn the situation around, but her addition only ended in another awkward silence, until suddenly junpei began to burst into laughter in the lounge.

“y-you said this would work–!”

aigis quietly hissed at junpei, who couldn't hold back his laughter anymore. she was clearly flustered by the situation and you slowly began to realize that those were all words junpei had put into her mouth, to mess with her.

“junpei–!” you joined in too, grabbing a pillow from the sofa and smacking the boy with it, as he continued to laugh. “oh, you're so going to pay for messing with her like that–!”

she has good intentions and simply doesn't realize that the end doesn't always justify the means

thought in the end, she does find out why you're upset! and knowing that, she can prepare before approaching you to comfort you

you're a bit surprised why aigis knows so well what's bothering you, though she doesn't make a secret out of how she figured it out

she smiles so genuinely as she tells you about it all, that you can't really be mad at her for it
