I researched, found sculpts I liked, & purchased them directly from the companies. It never occurred to me to shop around to find them cheaper somewhere else; why wouldn't I just get them directly from the source? Nowadays though, it means a lot more to me, to buy legit. So many artists & companies have published statements, about how much -& how specifically- recasting hurts them and their business. I don't normally talk about how much I spend on a doll. I think that people in the hobby already roughly know so it's not necessary, and I think many people outside the hobby would be surprised and find it excessive. But I want to make a point, so I am today. Declan is my most expensive doll. He's a Soom Spinel, for whom I paid $584; eyes $26; wig $8; shirt $25; pants $16; vest (custom-made) $35; gloves $15; shoes $35; jewelry/pins/trinkets $25; faceup by me, though I would've charged someone else about $25 for that service. Total (not including shipping) $794. Kazumi is my least expensive doll. She's a Custom House (Aidolls) Ange Ai Uri. I bought her during a sale, and paid $80 for her.
