Chishiya x Reader

Genre: Romance

No, he would never fall in love.

Love. The word rolled off his tongue as a joke, a fantasy- nothing more. Besides, he was in the borderlands; and he didn't want to be focused on something that would distract him. He knew with all his heart that he would never be bothered by such foolish feelings.

Then you came

The moment you got to the beach, you were nothing but sunshine. Heck- even Niragi of all people wouldn't dare touch you without your consent. It seemed that you were soon the beach favorite.

But with all the people glancing your way, the one you chose was the one that possibly didn't even care.

"I'm new here, and my name's Y/N L/N. It's nice to meet you."

Chishiya, who was peering down at everybody from the second floor, glanced up at you.

On instinct, his first reaction would be to tell you to leave and he wasn't interested in frienshi-

"Chishiya Shuntaro, same to you"

He caught himself off guard.

What the heck was that? Did he just pay attention to you?

He doesn't know what made him talk to you when he knew that he genuinely didn't care about anybody. So what made him do so?

Was it the way your hair would be slightly unkempt as you walked to the cafeteria at lunch, showing that you were the type to sleep through the morning?

Was it the way you laughed with your eyes closed, or the way you pulled an oreo cookie apart and ate the cream first?

Was it the way you liked your milk always cold/hot, or the way you always put both socks on before your shoes?

Was it the way you liked giving people random nicknames, or the way you remember the little things about people?

What was so interesting about you, that it made him want to talk to you?

He was zoning out while sitting on the roof, and your voice brought him back to his senses as you sat next to him, talking cheerfully about a game you just currently finished easily.

Your voice was muffled to him, and he felt as if the world stopped as he finally decided to look at you longer than he usually would. He looked at the content expression on your face and the wide smile etched on it even at a time such as this, the way your legs swung on the edge of the roof not terrified of falling to your death, the way you used your hands on either side of you to lean back slightly- exactly the way he was sitting. He didn't know what made him interested to speak to you a few weeks ago, but it was clear to him now.

One thing about Chishiya Shuntaro is he is the type of person that likes to observe people. He's the type of person that would do anything to get what he wants. He's the type of person that will lie without a second thought, just to get someone to believe him enough to trust him for him to make his next move in his plan. He's the type of person that didn't think with his heart, the type that never struggled with his emotions.

No, he would never fall in love.

Yet sometimes, the best lies he's ever told are about himself.

Maybe, just maybe, he was falling in love with you.

He smiles to himself as he moves his gaze away from you before you realized he was even staring in the first place.

'Yeah' he told himself, the corner of his lips lifting slightly as he lied to himself.

'I'm not in love'

I AM VERY NORMAL AND SANE ABOUT JELLY AIB. HERE'S AN ESSAY ABOUT HIM.

I’d like to preface this by saying I’ve already added like 3 paragraphs of text to Jelly’s personality page on the wiki, but I’m not quite done yet with him either. Please hear me out on this.

Jelly as a character may seem very self centered at the surface. Some might even say he’s using Popsicle Stick’s affection for him as an ego booster, but I doubt he ever had any malicious intentions. Only a few times did he act self centered, and I believe there's more a reason behind this than just him wanting attention. In this very long character analysis, I hope to explain Jelly’s motivations, what's wrong with him, and his relationship with PStick and the rest of team 2.

In the 2nd episode during the team 2 icebreakers, Jelly starts introducing himself as Can becomes upset with how this is all going. He brags about being a social butterfly, and drops the iconic line “And before anyone asks… Yes.” This is usually just interpreted as Jelly wanting attention on him, but I think he’s just doing an elaborate bit (he does enjoy attention though I will not lie about that). He notices how poorly this all has been going for Can, and wants to add something silly to lighten the mood a bit, even if that means being a little obnoxious about it. He knows he has the charisma to pull it off. He might’ve dragged on the bit too far though if Bouncy Ball didn’t fly in the last second.

Later on in ep 2 after Sock kicks Jelly in the head, possibly being the reason Jelly went stupid mode instead of it being BB’s fault. During this, I believe he's showing a bit of his “true side”. of course that's debatable, since he’s just received major brain damage, but either way, he becomes less filtered and sillier, just hanging out on the sidelines up until ep 3. PStick seems to be his self-employed caretaker for the time being.

Speaking of PStick, we should address the elephant in the room here. Jelly does seem to genuinely care for her, even if it's hard to tell in his tone in ep 1, he does show many other instances where he likes spending time with her. Unlike her, he’s able to exist alone and work alongside other people, and knows he can still be friends with her and hang out during off hours. When she joined Team 2 and Hailstone pestered her and Jelly about this, he wasn’t hesitant to ask Oodle if it was ok to switch teams. He clearly likes PStick being there, but doesn’t want to upset Hailstone or break the rules either, meaning he’s not completely biased.

Later on, esp in ep 5, Jelly seems a bit startled or worried about PStick being on the team or so attached to him. He’s starting to become uncomfortable, but instead of saying this to her, he hides that fact. He doesn’t want to hurt her, and is especially afraid of conflict. When Hailstone is upset at the fact PStick is on team 2 now, Jelly tries to console her, and understands where she's coming from, but he doesn’t want to directly tell PStick to just leave. At the start of ep 5, Jelly tries to ask Hailstone if she can go ask Oodle to do something about the heat, calling her a “good negotiator” in reference to the conversation they had in ep 4, and also not wanting to confront Oodle himself. He’s possibly afraid of confrontation or upsetting others, always being the guy who gets caught up in conflicts and tries to reach a compromise where both parties are the least unhappy. Him also trusting Hailstone shows he still respects her as his teammate, even if she isn’t a fan of PStick.

I haven’t talked much about his character in ep 3, but there's still some important things to note. He still remains silly in this ep (bababooey). When team 5 ends up disqualifying themselves and Safe is pulled out of the machine, he’s the one to go up to her and tell her it wasn’t her fault they almost lost. TBH the whole team thinks this too, with Can blaming Oodle’s oversights for why they were unable to get Safe out, but that’s not the point here. He does somewhat motivate her to go join them in their little victory party as well.

Point is, Jelly is a charismatic guy who wants to be a bit silly. He understands and respects others and just wants everyone to get along and be happy, typically being the one to comfort others. He dislikes confrontation, however, even to the point where he starts getting uncomfortable but doesn’t say anything about it in fear of hurting his closest friend.

Would you share your main blog with us? So we can follow and love?

My main blog has nothing to do with Alice In Borderland. It’s personal stuff about me and the lifestyle I practice. A lot of people don’t understand some of my philosophies. They have preconceived ideas about it and are grossly misinformed (like the idiot woman at work today that saw the embroidered symbol on my socks- the only black socks I own at the moment- which I didn’t think anyone would see because I sit at my desk most of the day) which leads to them being judgmental, rude, and mean. I’m afraid that if I mention it here, I’d be risking a lot. I’d probably start getting all kinds of hate messages and it would completely fuck up this blog.

My old RP blog is also linked to my main and that ended with me having to abandon it. It was a fairly popular blog (at one point I had 800+ followers) and I’d rather not reignite anything that went on with that; it was heartbreaking for me.

I also haven’t updated it, other than with a few AIB related posts recently, since 2019. Although I have considered starting it back up again, just not very often. I think everyone here knows it’s hard enough for me to keep this one going.

Scrap this paragraph. I regret even writing it; it’s stupid for so many reasons, but PTSD doesn’t allow a person to live a normal life. Lastly, and this is going to sound very dramatic, I have certain personal safety concerns with people from my past and the more things are pieced together, while it’s an infinitesimal chance that anything would come of it, it’s a risk.

But I’m nothing if not honest (I’ve been told I am honest to a fault), so I’m letting you know why I don’t share this information easily. I know it’s easy enough to figure out, and some people already know my main blog, but for me to post it is different. Let me think about it for a while and let you all know what I decide.

If anyone wants to talk via message, just send them to this blog and, for now, we can chat that way.
