Something fun I like to think about with my Falmer LDB is them running around with Miraak collecting the dragon priest masks. Miraak being okay with going but being the one to loot their bodies, because once upon a time some of them were his family.
All except for Ahzidal. The dragon priest who used his knowledge of magic, taught by the elven races, to assist in destroying the Snow Elves. The LDB just looking stiff once they figure out who's tomb they're in. They get quieter as they cut down the draugr to get to the priest. Collecting his artifacts without stating why, just picking them up as they go.
Then Miraak sees the LDB enter a state of rage he's all too familiar with. Seeing Ahzidal trying to regain power with the corpses of the miners is too much. He becomes soul trapped by the LDB as one last act of revenge and they just break. Miraak tells Ralis to leave and they won't kill him. Then just sits with LDB until they can no longer angrily cry. He doesn't even need to say anything, just being there is enough.
Rage and grief as powerful as that doesn't burn away, Miraak would know that personally.

Part 2 of my Dragon Priest headcanons and headshots!
Ahzidal. His name translates directly to Bitter Destroyer, a name he took for himself. He spent his life learning the arcane arts in Mainland Skyrim, becoming a highly talented battlemage. But when he returned to his birthplace, he found it destroyed by the Snow Elves, and everyone he had known and loved was dead. Heartbroken and enraged, he took up arms against the Elves, leading the charge into Saarthal along with Morokei. For his great bravery, he was made a Priest, and governed on Solstheim under the tutelage of Miraak. Of the three Solstheim Priests, he caused the most trouble, particularly alongside Nahkriin, his closest friend. He is Omnisexual and uses He/Him.
Miraak. In the Dragon Tongue, his name means Allegiance-Guide, a name he was given to symbolize his key role in mentoring the other Solstheim Priests. He always harbored dissent against the Dragons, but hid it well. With his power on Solstheim, he sought to carve out a stronghold to rally against the Dov, having some inkling of his nature as the First Dragonborn. But upon discovering Hermaeus Mora’s Black Book, he learned the full truth about what he is. Using the power granted by Hermaeus Mora, he became one of the most powerful Priests in Skyrim, forsaking the Dragon Cult and bringing the other three Solstheim Priests with him, even subjugating their Dragons with the Shout he created. But his own brother, Vahlok, the one person he truly loved, was ultimately the one to defeat him. And so he was dragged to Apocryphal, where he remains- until the Last Dragonborn, Kiirlaas, awakens, and comes to free him. He is Pansexual and Grayromantic, and uses He/Him.
Volsung. His name means Horror, belying the true capabilities hiding just underneath his cordial exterior. In his early years of Priesthood, he was a brutally efficient ruler, swiftly cutting down dissenters and ruling with strength. But one day, he was given a reward for his outstanding work- a newborn baby girl, left to die in the snow and found by Paarthurnax. Instantly, he was smitten with her, and named his new daughter Kiirlaas, meaning Young Life. After this day, he became a completely different person, exercising far more restraint and showing more mercy in his actions. He raised his daughter with nothing but love and patience, and to this day she is his pride and joy. Even after 5000 years of death-slumber, when he awoke to her face, he stood with her, not even caring that she was Dragonborn. And yet, his name rings true- any who cross him, or worse, his daughter, will know the true meaning of horror. He is Straight and Orchidsexual, and uses He/Him.
Vahlok. In the Dragon Tongue, his name means Guardian, for he was meant to serve alongside his elder brother Miraak in governing Solstheim. He and Miraak spent their whole lives together, sharing responsibilities and woes, and doing all they could to help each other. If Vahlok shared Miraak’s disdain for the Dragons, he never let it show, and was known as a merciful, just leader. When Miraak went rogue, it was he who stood against him and convinced the other Solstheim Priests to return to the Cult. Even as Miraak lay dying, Vahlok attempted to bring him back to reason, only for Hermaeus Mora to claim his brother. After being named the greatest of all Priests, he continued to rule fairly, and went down in history as the most merciful and beloved of the Priests. He is Graysexual and Biromantic, and uses He/Him.
Nahlot. In Dovahzul, their name means Silence, and they are my third and final OC. Born mute, they nonetheless displayed extreme magical and academic prowess, serving the Dragons faithfully and going above and beyond in their duties. However, their calm exterior and muteness fooled many into thinking they were a weak Priest, which they most certainly were not. In fact, their name not only reflects their muteness, but their favorite way of dealing with their detractors- silencing them, for good. They wear a Mask of Ivory and often can be seen alongside Britfaaz, who took them under her wing. They are Placiosexual and Panromantic, and use They/Them.
Dukaan. Her name has two meanings- as a single word, it translates to Dishonor, but split into two words, it means Devourer of Kyne. Both are fitting for her. Born Albino and with partial blindness, she never knew safety in youth. Her family were cold and cruel, and so she followed in their footsteps. They forced her to become a Priestess of Kyne, a role she despised. She had learned that power was the only thing that could keep her safe, and for a Priestess of Kyne, there was little to be had. So she burned down the temple she had been shackled to and gave herself to the Dragon Cult, eventually choosing the name Dukaan for herself and wearing it with pride. She governs on Solstheim and wields frost magic with frightening skill, thanks to Miraak and his teachings. She was with him to the bitter end, only rejoining the Dragon Cult when it became clear Miraak was a losing dog. She, Ahzidal, and Zahkriisos made up what the other Priests often referred to as ‘the Trouble Trio’. She is Cupiosexual and Apothiromantic, and uses She/Her.
Krosis. Her name means Sorrow, for her often grim countenance. As Vosis’ little sister, she is one of the youngest Priests, and ruled her people in the typical Dragon Priest fashion. She was given the honor of serving Paarthurnax, a role she took deathly seriously. When he was told by Kyne to teach Mankind the way of the Voice, she stood by his side, loyal to him over all else. But her loyalty couldn’t save her from the wrath of her peers, and they dragged her to the tip of Shearpoint to imprison her within the sarcophagus and await Alduin’s return. In her final moments of clarity, she called out for him, a sound which haunts the brother of Alduin to this day. She is Lesbian and uses She/They.
Tulnir. Her name means Hunter’s Hammer, a curious name for such a sprightly, chipper Priest. It was chosen for her by Morokei, her beloved elder brother, for she was often far quicker to default to violence than he. The pride and joy of Bromjunaar, she was charismatic and jovial nearly all the time. In fact, her diplomatic skill brought her quite far in the Priesthood, especially considering her position as the second-youngest. She was Morokei’s more social half, spending time amongst the common folk and leading hunting parties. She is Polysexual and uses She/Her.
Finally, Vokun. His name translates to Shadow, a fitting name for the most mysterious of the Priests. As the youngest, his path to Priesthood was fraught with challenges, all of which he overcame. With the help of his incredible skill in illusion and alteration magic, he took to the more illicit side of being a Dragon Priest like a duck to water. He was also a member of the first Companions, an archivist who preserved the lineages and memoirs of his fellows. Despite the age difference between them, Vokun carried on a frenemy relationship with Rahgot, who begrudgingly came to care for him. He is Bisexual and Grayromantic, and uses He/Him.
And that’s everyone!!! If anyone has more questions or comments on them, please tell me, because I can’t get enough of the Dragon Cult!

Hope this isn’t too awkward or anything (since it’s not too much of a lore related question) but…
Do you have any favorite underrated characters TES doesn’t talk about as much? Mine is Mehra Milo from Morrowind! She needs more credit for how much she risked for the Nerevarine!
ooooo not awkward at all!! Despite tes's rather shallow but broad selection of characters, I'm actually much more of a character person than anything else (which, tbf, can play into the lore a lot)! I think it's just how my brain works. I love playing with these little dolls a lot
She's indeed a very underrated one! She has a lot of potential with her relationship to the Nerevarine. From the Morrowind main quest, I think Nibani Maesa is also pretty underrated as well. A lot of people seem to just think of Caius as the mentor-type figure for the protagonist in MW, but she basically takes on that role for the whole second half of the Main Quest after he leaves. I also just think the Ashlanders are an underrated group in general though.
From Oblivion, I got really attached to Baurus. I actually got more upset about his death(s. there were many) in my playthrough than Martin's because you can prevent it. But he's with the HoK for so much of the Main Quest, I consider him a pretty major character. Modryn is another guy I got a soft spot for.
There's someone out there obsessed with basically every single Skyrim character, but I'm gonna say Delphine. Yeah, I'll admit it, I like Delphine. The (warranted) frustration towards her is more a product of poor quest design (and a sprinkle of misogyny), but I think she's got some interesting things going on with her character is you look at her from the perspective of a paranoid older war veteran. She's like my dragonborn's distant mentally unstable aunt.
I also like Ralis. I don't really have a deep explanation for this one. I think it's funny how much that quest blatantly demands from you, and his voice actor went really hard for the monologue he gives after you defeat Ahzidal. He's got poor little meow meow energy if you look at him the right way. Also I've watched him one-shot dragons as a follower before, so he get's a pass in my book for the atrocities.
#i recently saw a post that said that 'mehra' is actually a title not her first name and it has been fucking with me ever since#i didnt realize that. i thought it was just a common first name#mine#ask#angiemaniac#tes#tesblr#im not plugged in enough to the eso corner to know who is popular or not yet so i dont have thoughts on that one

Skyrim Favorites asks!
03. favorite daedric artifact? 04. favorite unique item? 09. favorite in-game book?
12. favorite spell?
14. favorite daedric prince?
15. favorite divine?
21. favorite follower?
27. favorite star sign?
30. favorite quest?
31. favorite craziest piece of actual canon lore?
Hullo! 03.) My favorite daedric artifact is the Mace of Molag Bal! It is a super good weapon when you are at level three, and moderately easy to get. I like the questline and I enjoy swinging a mace around.
04.) The Crown of Barenziah (sp?). I have memorized where each stone is, I know how to get it with minimal effort and I can repeat the lines of several irritants along the way. It is usually my third thing to get.
09.) Ahzidal's Descent. It is the book that explains, to me, how dragons came back to rule over Skyrim when the Five Hundred lost power. It is also the basis for my understanding of the Draugr Hivemind and Runa's resurrection.
12.) Alteration School all the way, baby. Its either Transmute, Waterbreathing, or Candlelight. These are the most useful spells for me, in game.
14.) My favorite, or the one you will see in my works, is probably Molag Bal, simply because he continues to get involved in everything- a little like a headless chicken with cosmic powers. My favorite one, as in I would be on good terms in Skyrim would probably be Sheogorath. He doesn't appear in my works till later.
15.) Favorite Divine is probably Kyne. I like to think she and Shor continue to reincarnate in Nirn, over and over, chasing each other around.
21.) I have used three followers, Serana, Teldryn, and that one guy in Windhelm's Candlehearth Hall, who I sacrifice to BOethiah. That said, I am not fond of followers, unless i am severely underleveled. I keep accidentally killing Teldryn.
27.) Snake. I was born on the 21st and no one can figure out my star sign, so it might as well be the one that chooses to be a problem.
30.) Pinewatch in Skyrim or the first Potema quest. Pinewatch, because its an easy stone to mark off the list and it increases sneaking, and the Potema quest because I can just sit on a ledge and pick off the people and up my archery and sneaking. Its fun! Relaxing! Violent!
31.) *looks at the Nerevarine* ummmmmmm. Sotha Sil once made a contract with Oblivion, probably. Then he broke the realm when the deal was broken. TESIV is just us trying to fix a problem and Sotha Sil was like, "no, go to time out" It tickles me.

I’m on a Skyrim hyperfixation kick and per usual it’s mainly about the Dragon Cult so: Headshots of all known Dragon Priests (plus three fan made!) and headcanons about them! Presented from oldest to youngest:
Nahkriin. His name means ‘Vengeance’, a fitting name for the Priest of Alduin. He lives in solitude within Skuldafn, tending to his duties unerringly. He is stern but not overly cruel, and his few friends (mainly Ahzidal) know that the stony exterior hides a surprising inclination for harmless mischief. He is Apothisexual and Quoiromantic, and uses He/Him.
Otar. They are the only named Priest whose name does not translate, and that is because Otar is actually their birth name and not the name given to them by the Dragons. Once known as Hahdrem, meaning Mind, they were Nahkriin’s little sibling and a fair, successful ruler. But their desire not to be lost in their brother’s shadow led to them entering into a pact with Clavicus Vile, a pact that drove them mad and plunged their city into ruin. They ages more visibly than any other Priest because they refused to wear their Mask after losing their mind. They are a sex-indifferent Asexual and Panromantic, and use They/He.
Hevnoraak. His name means Brutal, and he more than lives up to that title. He was a vicious and cruel overlord who ruled with terror, brutalizing dissidents and any who stood against him. Like most Priests, he had a harem of concubines, but his particular harem was infamous for being comprised mainly of prisoners whom he found particularly enticing. His bloodthirstiness led to him attempting to become an undead Lich far ahead of the plan to entomb the Priests and reawaken them upon Alduin’s return, and so his city was evacuated and a nord hero was sent to stop him, sealing Valthume and keeping Hevnoraak trapped. He is Bisexual and uses He/Him.
Suleyk. One of my three Priest OCs, his name means Power, a name he earned frighteningly fast. His prowess in battle, defeating every enemy thrown his way and leading the charge in several key battles in the name of the Dragons, made his catch the attention of the other Priests. He was bestowed with the Mask of Heart Stone, and bound to serve the Dragon Krifmulzii. He is a mix of Nahkriin and Hevnoraak- stern and strong, but neither stoic nor sadistic. He is Cupiosexual and Straight, and uses He/Him.
Morokei. His name translates to Glorious, and it’s no wonder why. He is the most magically gifted of the Priests, rivaled only by Ahzidal. It was he who recovered the Staff of Magnus from Saarthal and used it to drive back the Snow Elves. He and his beloved little sister, Tulnir, rule over Bromjunaar with wisdom and grace. He prefers to spend him time reading, studying, or practicing the arcane arts, rather than warmongering with his peers. He is Graysexual and Polyromantic, and uses He/Him.
Zaan the Scalecaller. Her name means Shout, given to her for her rallying cry and her charisma. A stern, devoted woman, she swore her life and the lives of her people to serving her Dragon Patron, Thurvokun. She was strong, her faith in the cause completely unrelenting, until Thurvokun vanished without a trace. In his absence, her devotion became anguish became rage, and to spite the Dragons, she turned to Peryite, forsaking the Dragon Cult entirely. She is Polarsexual and Lesbian, and uses She/Her. (Fun fact: Zaan is the only canon female Dragon Priest!)
Zahkriisos. Their name means Bloody Sword, a name they chose to honor their heritage from the Bloodskal Clan. They were born in the peninsula of Solstheim, and spent their life studying shock magic. Unlike their peers, they kept largely to themself, quiet and introverted. Under Miraak’s tutelage, they rose to great power, and even followed him down the path of rebellion against the Dragons. However, unlike Miraak, they were swayed by Vahlok and remained in power after his defeat. This was mainly due to their relationship with Rahgot, their partner whom they couldn’t bear to betray. They are sex and romance-indifferent aroace, and use They/Them.
Vosis. His name was difficult to translate, but I believe it means Blood Undone. He and Krosis are siblings, but of the two, Vosis is far and away the troublemaker of the pair. Famous for his mischief, he nonetheless served the Dragons faithfully, and generally ruled fairly. Though when put together, he and his little sister were well known for the chaos they wrought. He is Pansexual and uses He/They.
Britfaaz. Another of my OCs, her name translates to Beautiful Pain, an indication of her famous dichotomy. Well-known for her radiant beauty and mercy, something uncharacteristic for a Priest, she was one of the most beloved of the Priests, and wore a Mask of Stalhrim. While merciful and kind she may have been, tales are also told of the horrors she inflicted upon those who wronged her or her people. Unlike some other Priests, she genuinely cared for each of her citizens. She is Demisexual and Panromantic, and uses She/Her.
Rahgot. Their name means Anger, a fitting name for one of the most volatile Priests. While known for snapping at others and being quick to rage, they were also able to hold their tongue and govern wisely, often coming up with creative solutions other Priests hadn’t even considered. Their better half, Zahkriisos, often facilitated this, but that’s not to say that either of them were on their best behavior when together. They were also known for sparring frequently with other Priests to train, most commonly Vokun, whom they shared a complicated frenemy relationship with. They are Bisexual and Demiromantic, and use They/Them.
I’ve reached the image limit, so part 2 to this post will come soon!

Leeannes & moiras Journal, Middas 25th of suns dawn 4e202
IM FUCKING TIRED OF WAITING
THAT DAMN ASHSKIN HAS STALLED FOR LONG E- FUCKING NOUGH, I'M DIGGING THAT BARROW OUT MYSELF AND SEEING WHATS IN THERE!
when we got to solsthiem, Leeanne forced herself out and charged through raven rocks docks. She charged right up that hill and dug out the barrow herself. Took her a good few hours till she got the door uncovered and smashed it down. Afterwards, she slaughtered all the draugr, somehow opening the puzzle door during her rampage, and exposed a set of ancient nordic boots. Ahzidals Boots Of waterwalking. These will do perfectly to get us to the emperor. Your days are numbered Titus.
The moment we got back to Windhelm, Leeanne Took off westward towards Solitude. We had jetted across the entire upper half of skyrim in just under 5 hours, with a pitstop at fort dunstad to fill her gullet. From there, we had sprinted across the frozen tundra, through the marshlands of Morthal and finally stopped at falgunthur's camp. From there we rested for a few hours and prepared to strike at the emperor of skyrim. Hircine Guide My Blade.

In Skyrim, the player character's damage resistances are secretly capped at 85%. You can never gain full damage immunity.
This is most easily noticed when playing a character who is a Nord who either wears the Dukaan dragon priest mask, or is a vampire with the maximum bonus to Frost Resistance. This character will continue to be damaged by Frost attacks when they should be immune. Alternatively, a Dunmer wearing the Ahzidal dragon priest mask should be immune to fire attacks but he is not.
It is possible to stack multiple types of resistance; Magic resistance + Fire Resistance will block more damage than just one or the other
Special exeptions are in place to allow immunity to poison or diseases. These limitations are only in place for the player character; NPCs and followers can attain full immunities.
thank you mr skyrim man. I legit thought that the bug that lets you deal +1000% damage would also apply to adding resistances, fascinating it doesn't quite work that way
