Jazmin tried to hold on her laughter but failed as it came out as a snort. She shifted in her seat as she thought about the last few instances the two had spoken- if she could call how they spoke to each other at times that. She thought she had left Aeris in LA, but it seemed the ghost of Christmas past wanted to play with her this month.

"Not even if it's you."

She never knew what game Aeris was playing when it came to the two. That didn't mean she couldn't get testy to gauge what their status was. This could be a moment where it was just the two of them or it could be that he was warming her up just to look her dead in the eye as if she didn't exist.

"Hmm," She tilted her head slightly as she looked right at him, "How about we play a guessing game?" She suggested as a small smile formed on her face.

"Let's see..." She trailed off as she leaned on her elbows, "Am I in a mood because a, the last time we talked was god knows when, or b, the last time I saw you, you freaked out on me for literally no reason?" His options were on the table.

Aeris had never known to do best by himself, and it’s the exact reason he takes the empty bar stool beside Jaz. She doesn’t see him, and that makes it easy for him to b-line from the high top he was leaning up against to that open, welcoming spot. An invisible neon sign sat above it saying ‘sit here’ so Aeris does. 

He hasn’t had much luck recently in terms of normal, amicable interactions, so he might as well keep the streak going. If mercury is going to be in retrograde, he’ll face it head on.

( Astrology isn’t his strong suit, he’s just heard about it enough times in the shop from the typical astrology person coming in to add to their patchwork collection. )

“Wow, not even if it’s me?” he counters.

Aeris can’t be sure how she’ll answer that.

“What’s got you in such a mood?”
