No one really. Not sure if she still has her boyfriend she referenced in the past but I’m sure she’s got her romantic life well handled.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I love her and John’s developing friendship.... but I also have a VERY NON CANON headcanon where she has a sort of competitive sisterhood/friendship with Laura Hobson from IM/Lewis.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Again, unsure what unpopular is but SHE DON’T NEED NO MAN is pretty usual for me.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Listen to my crack headcanon about her and Laura Hobson are both assistants of Max deBryn competing for his job when he inevitably retires. They sort of hate each other at first but eventually have to work together, and she’s WILD and Laura is too but NOTHING like Fleur and when it comes time for Max to retire he is like hey... you def need to go to midsomer. i got some strings to pull for you.. I THINK YOU WILL LIKE HOW WILD IT IS.. and yeah IDK. Half formed ideas but PLEASE.

Hello @agteacher, I am your secret morseverse Santa this year ! I wrote you a little Jim/Joan fic, since you like this pairing (and who wouldn’t ? they are adorable). I hope you like it !

Jim noticed Joan right before she spotted him, and had the unearned privilege of seeing her face light up with joy. She waved at them before making her way through the parking lot, her light blue fichu bouncing to the rhythm of her steps :

- “Morse ! Jim ! How are you ?” Jim felt himself straighten  – an instinctive response he had every time he saw a Thursday, and hadn’t quite managed to shake off  – and he could have sworn Morse had gotten a smidge tenser, but they both answered naturally enough. They were very well, not too overworked, and how was she ?

She too was well (it showed : her smile was easy and relaxed, her cheeks rosy from the cold… she looked vibrant), though work was a bit hectic, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She was however, in a bit of a pickle, but Jim was exactly the man to help her out. Morse scoffed at that, but since he was gracious enough to try and disguise it as a cough (and perhaps also because Joan was there) Jim felt like taking the high road, and ignored him :

- “I’d be glad to help.” - “Marvellous ! Are you free on Saturday ?” - “Absolutely. That is” he added, trying desperately to remember if he truly didn’t had any prior engagement, “Even if I had something, I’d make time, so...”

Morse scoffed again, far less discreetly this time, and earned himself one of Joan’s patented  death glare. How he could withstand them, Jim had no idea : just witnessing one made him want to squirm. He briefly considered excusing himself : he wasn’t keen on being the witness to one of their squabbles. Separately, he was fond of them both, but they seemed to bring out – well, maybe not the worst, but something brittle and resentful – in each other. It reminded Jim of two wounded cats spitting and hissing. But Joan, having made her displeasure clear, turned her gaze back on Jim. It was somewhat commonplace, no doubt, to be struck by the clear eyes of a dark-haired beauty, but Jim didn’t feel the need to rise above clichés, as long as they were tried and true. Her eyes were gorgeous, especially when she smiled. And she was smiling now, at him, a little expectantly.

- “I always have time for you,” he said stupidly (but her smile grew larger, so he couldn’t bring himself to regret it). - “Wonderful !”

Just like that she had shifted back to a business-like stance. Not that Jim was complaining, he liked her that way too, all practicality and focus  – and if he sometimes felt the urge to gently smooth the crease between her eyebrows, no one had to know.

- “We’ve organized a football game for next Saturday, but our referee left for Chelmsford in a hurry – family matter, you understand, his mum is sick – and it’s volunteer work anyway, it was already kind of him to offer his help, but I was hoping you could maybe replace him, just this time ?” she laughed, half sheepish, half teasing. “So. Are you still free on Saturday ? If you suddendly remember an obligation, I won’t hold it against you.” - “Don’t worry, I’m your man. I’ll visit the office this evening, so we can sort the details out ?” - “That would be perfect, Jim, thank you.”

She made to leave – barely a hint of movement – before she stopped and looked at him again. She seemed slightly hesitant now, an expression he didn’t see on her often and didn’t like as much as the others. Still, he wanted to make space for that expression too, to welcome it and let it sooth itself in peace. And now he was just thinking nonsense, instead of listening to her :

- “Like I said it’s volonteer work, and we can’t pay you for it, but would you let me buy you dinner ? As a personnal thank you ? And before you tell me it’s unnecessary, I know. I’m still offering.” - “Dinner with a pretty lady ? How could I say no ?” Oh, well done Jim. You had to make things weird. You just had to.

- “It’s a date, then,” she said brightly. “See you this evening, Jim. Morse.”

He watched her leave, feeling very much like a lovestruck teenage boy. And well, maybe it was time to admit that he was a bit lovestruck. Next to him, Morse chuckled softly, bringing him back to earth :

- “How much do you think she bribed that referee, for him to invent a sick mother ?” - “I’m just glad to help,” replied Jim, feeling the absurd need to justify himself. - “And I’m glad you can.”

It was just like Morse, to make some grand symbol out of a football game. No wonder the man always looked exhausted. But Jim recognized the show of support for what it was, and gratefully accepted it. He was already wondering if he should buy flowers, and if so which kind, and how many, and all other considerations were fading away like mist under the clear blue sky.

Oh jeez. I am not a health and beauty person. I don’t take baths. I shower out of necessity only. I use no makeup or use any products of note. If i have to give ANY answer, i use CBD lotions, oils and salves regularly but mostly for physical reasons. 

22.  if you were going to dye your hair any colour of the rainbow, what would you choose?

My favourite colour is green but I actually don’t enjoy wild hair colours for myself. I only dyed my hair a couple times in my life and the most vivid was a sort of burgundy. This probably ties into my lack of interest in any sort of beauty maintenance and how much of a chore that all is. Also when it starts to wash out it always looks like puke and I’m not about that. My hair is VERY dark and not a lot of things stick.

Absolutely nothing about makeup, hair dye, beauty maintenance has ever been satisfying or made me happy so I don’t bother with it. I’m p good as-is.

The short answer is “Not one that’s sufficiently unified across time/place/culture to be recognizable as such.” We’ve got costumes that are designed to evoke modern Western suits on people like the Master Codebreaker and other Canto Bight casino-goers in tLJ or Dryden Vos in Solo. We have senators and diplomats dressed for work in a huge range of outfits the prequel and sequel trilogies. But weirdly enough, “Outer Rim subsistance dirt-farmer” comes with a way more recognizable, consistent aesthetic than “Educated Core World businessperson.”

I was talking to one of my former #ffa mentors yesterday. He’s the guy who taught be a lot back when I was an #agteacher. We reminisced about old times and in his retirement he keeps involved in #agriculture. He reminded me of all the people, both full and part time, who commit themselves to the land. He also reminded me how special my time was as an ag teacher and all the hundreds of teenagers I taught during that time. It was a good run. In a week, I get to speak to a group of #texas ag teachers as they make a stop in #childress on a statewide leadership tour. I hope I can find the words to encourage them. #texasffa

Headcannon: Max has a flock of fluffy-ass chickens in his garden (for the eggs, of course). They swarm around him when he's working in the garden and eat the bugs. He calls them his "ladies" and chides them when they do something violent, like eating lizards or mice. Morse is deathly afraid of them.

HEADCANON ACCEPTED. They are his children. They all have names and if pressed, he will gush about them to the right listener. He also refuses to keep them away from Morse. They live there, Morse. Not you.

Dare I say CANON though? There’s a behind the scenes cut (in the directing apollo extra from s6) of shaun evans in the garden scene and he mentions chickens just off out of camera. Also in the novels Morse is scared of birds... soooo I mean.. that basically makes this canon ;D

������ these are excellent art references. On a side note, what's the hypothesis on the function of the arrow-looking kneepad thing on his right leg?

No idea! Usually we get that kind of info from Visual Guides/Dictionaries, and alas we don’t have one of those for the show yet. Boba Fett stores hold-out projectiles in his (symmetrical) polleyns, and it looks like there are tubes that would accommodate that on Mando’s left knee. The right is anyone’s guess though.
