this valentine’s day i would like to profess my undying, ardent love for the callistephus chinensis (china aster)! the flower that contributed to me giving myself my name!!
not only are they a part of the (superior in my opinion) family of asteraceae, but also the genus’ (callistephus) etymology is derived from the greek words “kalli-” meaning “beautiful” and “stephos” meaning crown. they have beautiful chrysanthemum-esque blooms and come in all sorts of colours (my favourites being purple and white).
straying away from taxonomy a bit, asters in general are one of the birth flowers for september (my birth month!). they symbolise hope, faith and wisdom. and according to greek mythology, astraea (“star maiden”: goddess of purity, justice and innocence) cried because there weren't enough stars in the sky and when her tears hit the earth, they caused asters to bloom! continuing to follow the greek myth, she was the last goddess to live amongst the humans after the golden age, symbolising the decline of hope for humanity along with the decline of the ages. she left and became the constellation virgo i believe!
some more fun fun facts, asters have a most frequently observed number of n = 9 haploid chromosomes (2n = 18 for diploid). the numerology of the word “aster” also happens to be nine and guess what! september is the 9th month of the year! is it obvious i really like the number 9? almost as much as i love asters <3
String identified:
t at’ a t g, at t cat c (ca at)! t tat ctt t gg a!!
t a t a at t ( ) a ataca, t a t g’ (cat) tg t g “a-” ag “at” a “t” ag c. t a at cat- a c a t c ( at g a t).

#insorgiamo"https://www.facebook.com/share/p/SyPBNmSJbbpYeh86/

Aku berpetualang,
Mengikuti arah langkah yang gamang dalam bimbang
Memungut luka yang menjalang
Juga sakit yang meradang
Membawanya pulang
Untuk berterus terang dengan tenang
Menerima yang tidak baik dengan lapang

The image above shows the removal of the left engine and outer wing panel on the SR-71C, 61-7981 at Beale AFB in August 1990 it took them six weeks to remove the 'outer wing panels and engine nacelles. The crew from Hill used ‘angled die grinders’ to cut the 18 wing beams where the engines and outer wing panels attach to the interwing. Our A-12 recovery team used “K-12” rescue saws. We had the wings off in only two and a half days.
All SRs had wet wings, whereas the A-12s and YF-12s had dry wings, and no fuel in the wings. The exception was the SR-71C, the "Bastard" as it was called. Which was the functional engineering mockup forward fuselage, mated to the back half of YF-12A 60-6934/1001. Hence, the “C” model had dry wings as well.
The YF-12A aft fuselage came from YF-12A 60-6934 during a high-speed ground test on the Rogers Dry Lake, hit a critter hole in the lake bed, and the nose landing collapsed. They had the wreckage in a cordoned-off fenced area near the south side of the flight line.
(Jim Goodall photo) both upper and lower photos.
Image showing the wing of an A-12 being cut. I'm sure if OSHA, our Wing CO, or TAG saw this they would have had a cow. But it was 105°f, and we working on a black airplane in the desert. On the funny side, using a 'K-12' rescue saw, a molten piece of Titanium flew up the pant leg of his shorts, I've never seen anyone move that fast, he would have won the 'Best of AGT', or 'Dancing with Stars'. Thank you, Jim Goodall he is the famous author of the SR 71 books.. I did not know this information about the A-12 and the YF 12 that their wings were not wet ~ Linda Sheffield

From Rauw Alejandro to Shakira, see everyone who's touring this year. Fonseca performs onstage during the 2023 iHeart Fiesta Latina at Kaseya Center on October 21, 2023 in Miami, Florida. Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images FOR iHeartRadio Español Editor’s Note: The list features only U.S. tours by Latin music artists and is updated on a regular basis. Tours will be removed from the list once they have ended. 2024 was a phenomenal year for the Latin touring industry, where five Latin acts — Luis Miguel, Bad Bunny, Karol G, RBD and Aventura — grossed more than $100 million, up from one in 2023 and two in 2022. Billboard reported in December that Latin artists are responsible for 16% of the year’s top 100 touring grosses, more than ever before. This year, Luis Miguel topped Billboard’s Highest-Grossing Latin Tours of the Year list, grossing $290.4 million across 128 shows, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. Following El Sol de México’s trek is Bad Bunny’s Most Wanted tour, grossing $211.4 million across 49 concerts. Both tours ranked top 10 on the overall Billboard Year-End Top Tours of 2024 list — the former at No. 4 and the latter at No. 9 — alongside artists such as Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and Madonna, to name a few. Now, 2025 is already shaping up to be another great touring year for Latin music. Already announced for the new year are Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran stadium trek kicking off in the spring; Rauw Alejandro’s Cosa Nuestra World Tour beginning in North America; and Nathy Peluso’s first-ever U.S. run in honor of her album Grasa. Mexican band Camila and Colombian tropi-pop artist Gusi have also secured tours in the U.S. Below, see our updating list of Latin tours that have already been announced for 2025.
