12. They got locked out of their home.   

One could tell she was pretty exhausted, by the way slender fingers pressed against temples, perhaps in an attempt to pry an answer from her brain— or a solid clue as to what to do next. Unnies gone and apparently nowhere to found, since not a single call would get response;  keys -couldn’t have been otherwise- left inside the appartment. Perfect timing. Still, it made a slightly familiar scenario for the ravenette, given her absent, even careless demeanor at times. And yet she couldn’t help but heave the deepest of sighs as she dropped both arms to the sides, all in unspoken frustration, lensed eyes now fixated in some point among the clouds, ever so faintly bathed in moonlight.

"You have to be kidding me… really." It wasn’t that much of a big deal, that she knew, but she also couldn’t deny the way her mouth felt dry all of a sudden; it was as though the perspective of spending some time alone at her own doorway wasn’t exactly well welcomed by her subconscious. There was always the option of walking around the area until the others got home -music should suffice to keep herself entertained- but then a way more promising idea crossed her mind. While taking the phone out of her pocket and sliding the thumb across its bright screen, Seulmi allowed herself a moment to gather her thoughts. Eyes narrowed slightly as they scanned the agenda, the sounds emitted by the device cutting through the silence for a fleeting instant. Truth was, out of all people she felt like calling, she could only think of one person.

One ring…

"Ah— hello, Myungsoo-yah?" Eyebrows furrowed together as she muttered on the phone; frustration was eventually replaced by a faint hint of embarrassment, unconsciously melting with her voice. He’d probably notice, as per usual, but she pretended not to care. "You see, I might have left… uh—" A pause was given before more words could continue to flow, the softest sigh following. "The keys… I left them inside my appartment. Otokke?”

Anubis:How do you feel about death?

I never found myself in denial when it comes to death, nor am I scared of it. I am aware that one day, my time will be up, so I'm trying to make the best of me while still being here, physically above ground. Who knows what happens after you die? Maybe you get to see a different beginning somewhere else? No one knows that. I'm not spending my time thinking about it much.

Dear Myungsoo,

it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I can barely recall last time I wrote you something. Have you been resting? Ah, I bet you haven’t changed your diet in the least… one can’t feed on instant noodles forever, but you already know that, don’t you?

Well… I believe I owe you a bit of an explanation for my long silence. Let’s just say… some things happened. I got caught in a horrible misunderstanding and forced to make the worst of decisions, one I regret to this day. Nothing could be done and yet I tried to stop it, I really did…. and I’ve always wanted to contact you after that—  tell you that I still can’t sleep, that it feels weird walking around at night on my own, but somehow, I just couldn’t bring myself to do so. Guess it’s a little too late now.

Say, are you mad at me? If you are, then I understand. But I never meant to leave, believe me or not. I managed things the wrong way, selfishly even. That’s all I wanted to say. Perhaps you won’t ever read this, who knows, I might even have written the address wrong. Still, I’ll continue to cross my fingers, so this letter reaches you someday.

I miss you, and I’m sorry. I really am.
