I have so many feelings about dwarves in dragon age honestly
like you know about the banter varric and solas have, where they are like 'and here we go again with humans making a mess'
because after all it's humanity's fault. dwarves entire civilization literally fell on it's kness, because of the human magisters and their desires and their stupid gods.
every thaig except two, and the second one tainted, have fallen. on one dwarf there are hundreds of humans.
but once Thedas's underground flourished. Literally, they were growing food underground, mining, making families, having there own economy completely independent from the surface. they could build entire cities underground that had lasted millenniums.
And now it's all gone, dwarven race dependent on the surface, slowly dying out because proximity to taint makes them infertile, losing for centuries because no one really helps them. there are their all alone for two centuries fighting darkspawn that are pushing and pushing and never end, sacrificing their people. and then blight comes around! and only then when humans are threatened they get up and do something, of course requiring dwarven help.
and that's so yanking infuriating.
I know that dwarven culture is absolutely wrong, but they can change if you put bhelen as a king, but the question is. Do they have enough time?
It's just. Dwarves and their, architecture, tecnology, agriculture, combat everything is so interesting.
I say when in dragon age series blights finally end, and darkspawn died out, and taint has disappeared . Dwarves should have another chance for life.

The 1918 pandemic has been remembered as the “Spanish flu” because the Spanish press was the only Western media to adequately cover its massive toll. (Some speculate that this is because the Spanish were not at war, and their press was not as distorted by wartime censorship and distraction.)
Despite the name, Spanish flu struck the entire world - that’s what made it a pandemic instead of simply an epidemic. It was not the first influenza pandemic, nor the most recent (1957 and 1968 also saw pandemics), but it was by far the most deadly. Whereas AIDS took roughly twenty-four years to kill 24 million people, the Spanish flu killed as many in twenty-four weeks. 
Some recent revisions of te death toll suggest that 50 million or even as many as 100 million people were killed worldwide. Estimates suggest that one-1uarter of Americans, and perhaps one-quarter of the world, fell ill. Unlike most influenzas that mortally threaten only the very young, very old, and already ill, the Spanish flu killed healthy people in the prime of their lives.
Mortality was actually highest in the twenty-five-to-twenty-nine-year-old group, and at the flu’s peak the average life expectancy for Americans was reduced to thirty-seven years. The scale of the misery was so vast in America - as elsewhere -that I find it impossible to understand why I didn’t learn about it in school, or through memorials or stories. As many as twenty thousand Americans died in a week during the height of the Spanish flu. Steam shovels were used to dig mass graves. […] 
The result [of the study], published in 2005, show that the source of the 1918 pandemic was avian influenza - bird flu. Other evidence suggests that the 1918 virus might have mutated within pigs (which are uniquely susceptible to both human and bird viruses). We cannot be sure. What we can be sure of is that there is scientific consensus that new viruses, which move between farmed animals and humans, will be a major global health threat into the foreseeable future. […]

Their 2005 report argued that a major impact of factory farming is “the rapid selection and amplification of pathogens that arise from a virulent ancestor (frequently by subtle mutation), thus there is increasing risk for disease entrance and/or dissemination.” 
Breeding genetically uniform and sickness-prone birds in the overcrowded, stressful, feces-infested, and artificially lit conditions of factory farms promotes the growth and mutation of pathogens. The “cost of increased efficiency,” the report concludes, is increased global risk for diseases. Our choice is simple: cheap chicken or our health.

LAKE SEBU, South Cotabato, Feb. 3 (PIA)--  Residents of Sitio Blit in Barangay Ned, this municipality, will soon undergo trainings that will add value to their agricultural products. 
Their school will also receive a digital library to facilitate access to important information and technology, said Engr. Sammy Malawan, DOST XII regional director. 
Director Malawan joined TESDA Director-General Sec. Isidro Lapeña in his visit to Sitio Ned on Friday (January 29). 
"Based on conversations with the officials and residents of Sitio Blit, we have determined that there is a need to upgrade their products. This is why  we will conduct technology trainings as well as equipment that will improve the value of their produce," Engr. Malawan said. 
Malawan explained that under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's Executive Order No. 70 (Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework), DOST is committed to assist communities affected by insurgency with livelihood opportunities, among others. 
Farmers in Sitio Blit mostly produce root crops, corn, and peanuts. 
"We have initial agreements with TESDA Provincial Director Artemio del Rosario Jr. regarding our return here to hold technology trainings."
TESDA-South Cotabato have started holding hands-on classes for organic agriculture  for farmers and residents of Sitio Blit and neighboring Sitio Lemdel. 
"Apart from this, we will also install a digital library in your school. We call this STARBOOKS where everybody can conduct research even without internet connection. Students and teachers and anybody interested may use it to gather information and learn about technologies," he told the community.  
According to the DOST website, STARBOOKS (short for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks) "contains thousands of digitized science and technology resources in various formats (text and video/audio) placed in specially designed 'pods' set in a user-friendly interface." 
As a standalone kiosk, STARBOOKS allow access to information without internet connection. Contents are compiled of science and technology information all over the world. It also contains livelihood videos. 
Although Sitio Blit Elementary School is not connected to a power distribution line, it has solar-powered energy system being used by teachers and the students. (DED/PIA XII) 
A resident of Sitio Blit shares Taro chips to guests during Sec. Isidro Lapeña's  visit on Friday. DOST XII Regional Director Malawan promised they will hold tecnology trainings that will provide added valuie to the villagers' produce.
