There was a chorus of greetings ranging from generally polite to quietly excited (except for Chloe who could have cared less about the newcomer) and Marinette paused in settling in her seat. The only seats available were at the back of the class.
Something felt off about Lila, but it was probably just the 'new girl' atmosphere about her. So, aiming to help her feel more comfortable in the class, Marinette shouldered her bag and stood.
"Here, Lila, you can have my seat," she offered, stepping into the aisle and gesturing to the seat. "I can sit in one of the open seats in the back."
The next day came by quicky. A friday which got alot of students ready and excited for the weekend. The bell rang for the students to get to their classrooms. Mlle. Bustier gathered everyone together and even waited for Marinette to come into class before beginning. Gigi was by the doorway and motioned for her to go in before following…
…but she was not alone as a brand-new girl came behind her.
As Mlle. Bustier finished, she granted Gigi the honor of giving the class the news.
❝Good morning, everyone. I know it’s Friday and everyone is excited for the new weekend. But before we begin the day, we have a new student joining us. Please give a warm welcome to Miss Lila Rossi.❞
❝ Thank you! ❞

Les conséquences de leurs choix et comment ils ont réagi (the consequences of their choices and how they reacted)
With the special Paris episode now out, there are still some dark areas, such as the supreme, that famous system and why Marinette couldn't use the wish, Emilie and so on. However, I'd like to talk about the otherworldly trio, Toxinelle, Griffe Noire and Hesperia. In this special, we can see the evil duo working together, even if they're not happy about it. Given that they've already tried to steal each other's miraculous, fighting to be spared by the Supreme. Which says a lot about how the Supreme's agents are treated! Even Plagg and Tikki are mute and can't speak, but we can see that they're scared even in their true form. Our Tikki was aware of these other universes and knows them well, but to tell Marinette about them would take her whole life to tell only a tiny part of it. So yeah, the special is a good reminder that we're dealing with special beings.
Toxinelle is colder and more responsive than Griffe Noire, who prefers to do things her own way. Overusing the lucky charm at the cost of her life. She was alone and left to her own devices, with no one to help her, no parents, no friends, not even a boyfriend (although I understand she had one, but would have called her a loser). And in response, she responds with anger, frustration at not having had the life she wanted, whereas another Marinette has it by reading her diary. It could also be associated with envy of her alter ego. All her lucky charms reflect her aggressive side, showing off more offensive objects than defensive ones! And that's why she was an easy target for the Supreme, who convinced her that using her powers would mean she'd never be hurt or suffer again. Finding no other way than to express what she feels through the violence she inflicts on others. As long as she can relieve her own.
That's why her confrontation with Ladybug is so important, because she thinks everything has been easy for her! But on the contrary, it hasn't been! She's tried to change and has been able to grow up, become more mature and change her view of the world around her, finally living her life to the full despite the trials she's had to face. She's not alone, as she has Black Cat, her friends and family to support her. By saving her alter ego, she's helping herself, as this takes place after Destruction was unable to retrieve the miraculous from Monarque. She was able to help her other version, so she didn't lose hope this time!
Griffe Noire is more impulsive and reckless, to the point of being quite suicidal in the face of cataclysm. Responding only with destruction, his approach is very different from that of Toxinelle. Responding only with provocation and puns, he's even more aggressive in terms of combat than Chat Noir. But Chat Noir is smarter than he is and has grown up differently, and it's horrible to think that all it took was one or more choices to tell you that Adrien could have ended up like Griffe Noire! Just as Marinette could have become Toxinelle depending on her choices! But behind his attitude lurks a grief, a mourning that has not recovered, that of his mother. He can't accept that his father is moving on, while he's stuck in bargaining and denial. Adrien, on the other hand, has accepted his mother's death, and it crossed his mind to use the wish. But he knows there's a price to pay and that children would be deprived of their mother. He can't accept that, and neither can Emilie. Griffe Noire is saddened but also terrified because he doesn't know what to do. Adrien suggests that he apologize to Nino and try to become his friend, which Black Claw is reluctant to do. But Adrien tells him that he'll be fine anyway, and that all they have to do is watch a movie together. By the way, I like the way the sun rises, now showing their resolution.
As for Hesperia, he has lost his wife, but unlike our Gabriel. He refuses to succumb to grief and uses it to give and keep hope. He was with the Supreme before and had to leave after Emilie's death. But how did he remove Nooroo's mute spell? I don't know, maybe making a fresh start and using his powers for good is the way to break the silence spell. But it's not spelled out so we can only speculate, in the fight between the duo and him, Toxinelle points the finger at him for stealing the miraculous. This suggests that they've worked together before, given the way she talks to him and Griffe Noire. Seeing our duo's world, he finds it magnificent and beautiful, but it's far from rosy! Given that Monarque has the miraculous, it's a shame we didn't have these two interacting. But I think it's done on purpose to show the difference between these two. Besides, Hesperia couldn't have reasoned with Monarque. And despite being the duo's enemy, he keeps reaching out to them to join his resistance. Given his dialogues, I think he's internalizing some of the experiences and even feelings he went through when working with the Supreme. And so his response was to turn his back on the Supreme to do the right thing. Moreover, his akumatized form has a certain irony when he's shown as an angel and our Gabriel is dead and probably in hell by now. Not to mention the feathers that come out of Chat Noir, that irony!

Why Marinette parents didn't make her change school when she was severely bullied by Chloé ?
Somoene answered this question on reddit, and I'm ashamed to say that even I didn't know those rules about school in my own country T_T :
"Idk about other countries, but in France unless you're moving out you can't change your school since you have to automatically attend the school of your neighborhood. (In Paris, you can attend some famous public schools with just taking the entrance exam, but as we know Marinette I dont think it's her case). So even if they wanted, they couldn't.
Let's continue and assume they could. The principal would have had to approve Marinette's transfer, and if he did the government would have had to approve right after. Meaning in Miraculous the mayor (since it's the only form of government we saw so far and probably will ever see), meaning Chloe.
See? It's not that simple.
Meanwhile Amelie is in London and very rich. It's simpler for her to defend her son, who's probably not even attending school. "
I guess that I can forgive Marinette's parents for being powerless against Chloé then, as long as they didn't made a fuss of all the times Marinette got punished because of Chloé's trick, and made sure to comfort theu daugther and tell her than they wer eon her side no matter what.
Can't forgive them for falling for Chloé's lies and false prooves during Adoration though, and hardly for not allowing Marinette time to try and proove her innocence during Ladybug and make work instead.
And I certainly can't forgive Sabine yet for allowing Lila to make passive agressive comments about Marinette without scolding her a bit for that, and for comfortably letting Lila hug her and say that Sabine is like a mother to her.
#miraculous ladybug#our school educational system really suck in France#Tom and Sabine are good parents#but they're not the greatest parents#I can onl hope that they won't hurt their daugther in seaosn 6#because of Lila's future lies and tricks#unfortunatelly if this season 6 is supposed to hurt more than season 5#then I'm very afraid that Chrysalis/Iris Verdi will manage to successfully manipulate Tom and Sabine#and use them to hurt Marinette#At worst Iris could also manage to manipulate Roland and Gina

Hey it's me the not-anon Mary sue(in case folks care I don't post anon)
To agress your response first(trying to clarify my point)
Marinette doesn't face consequences, she gets punished.(I ended up using a mega-kuma example latwr too)
A made up example: Say Marinette is nervous about talking to Luka so she uses the snake to reset time repeatedly, checking each of his responses until she finds the right words to get the response she wants.
What the show would not do is have Luka discover her use and get mad that she was manipulating hom, not allowing him a response to her 'true' self's first thoughts.
What it would do is have Su-Han who had never appeared before show up, explain he had tracked her use of the snake and how her use of the snake at this exact moment had caused a celestial conjunction that released a demon which has possessed Adrien and all her friends.
Like one of these things is interesting, narrative, and connected. The other is just abuse.
As for the Fu/Queen thing:
I misspoke about his Identity. I meant location.
The timeline is: Love Eater shows up, Mari confronts it sans Cat Noir. Her Lucky charm is: goto Fu.
On the way to Fu she sees Adrien and Kagami cozey and is distracted. Instead of her usual routine of sneak somewhere and detransform then go see Fu she just heads right to him. Thus giving him away. (Yes Mayura was following her but I feel it is safe to think a Marinette with her head in the game would slip Mayura just as part of her usual care)
Then she reaches for the Bee and think of Chloé. This also fits Ladybug's MO of having people help their family. It lines up perfectly, but then she instead grabs the dragon and we see her literally yoink Kagami away from Adrien by yo-yo (which was admittedly funny)
None of this is calling Mari a bad person, just a person. It's totally fair storytelling. It just gets bottled up with happy Fu and Always Evil Chloé instead of being addressed.
As for the Guardianship. Two points:
1)Consequences need to be contemporary in a narrative. The Narrative hit the end of the sentence with the end of the season finalé. further complications 'later' don't always track back.
2)The Good/Bad of the changeover is muddled anyway. You could argue she would have lost several episodes of S4 without being the Guardian. I don't really want to dissect that, it just isn't a good barometer.
The mega-Kuma is an example of punishment vs consequences.
Consequences would have been Marianne blaming Ladybug(justified or not) or having to admit to Chloé that even though siding with Hawkmoth was wrong, she had made mistakes too in not addressing Chloé clear misunderstanding better(as a hero)
Punishment is Hawkmoth gaining new powers, none of which were forseeable/clear products of her choices.
The discussion is interesting and all but can y’all make throwaway accounts and talk directly to each other?

I mean...in Gabe's defense...homeschool isn't inherently a bad thing and Emilie was in on that to. So I don't think the isolated him for 14 years completely counts since it seems Adrien had Chloe and Felix until his mom 'disappeared'. Adrien didn't seem that bothered til the mom was gone which was what? 6 months before origin? until Adrien decided to pull a anna from frozen to contrast Gabe being a elsa.
That said I DO see your point. hmmm I think the nicest thing Gabe ever did was let everyone stay for christmas after everyone went searching for adrien when gabe was late to come down...and maybe Gabe letting Adrien go to school? Maybe when Gabe very thoroughly apologized back in collector? or let adrien go to marinette;s birthday party.
To befairISH to the show....I THINK they were trying to imply that that Gabe getting that much worse was a side affect from using his miraculous the wrong way over and over and over again.
Amplifying his own negative emotions of grief, sadness, anger, loss, and determination to then feel other people's negative emotions...where he simplified his motive to make it easier to project him goal on the akuma victims who's goals tended to be very different and have nothing to do with what he wanted(since they still need to consent and have their own reasons to say yes). With the unintended side affect of him twisting his hawkmoth persona more and more as the show went on due to amplifying his negative feelings and simplifying his motive so much.
.....this seems like it was what they were going for since they kept making references to collector....which was where he akumatized himself and they mentioned not knowing the side affects of it...where we had seen the 'real' gabe at his heart in a few points in collector...how he was immediately worried for adrien when he turned back. how his apology was VERY thorough to adrien when gabe coudl have gotten away with not apologizing since Adrien DID steal the book. and how Gabe had actually been very understanding when mari brought the book back instead of mad like we'd have all assumed...Gabe had been calm, said it was brave of her to come forward when things had escalated, and she could have gotten away with not coming forward . When he had honestly answered her questions and agreed to not tell Adrien she took or returned the book when she asked Gabe to keep it a secret. hinting that we should take a second look if Gabe is ACTUALLY the worst or if he's just pretending to be to try to get low hanging fruit Akumas to save his wife.
The show had also pointed out that Gabe was not chosen for affinity or trained like mari, adrien or fu were. That he didn't have a properly translated book for most of the series or people who knew the actual history in person(like fu did). and made a point that being even slightly off emotionally can have dire consequences when operating a miraculous.
Fu was just trying to get snacks but the sentibeing sensed his inner resentment and went ballistic eating everyone and everything associated with the miraculous for example.
or how Mari used her power to separate Adrien and Chloe out of Jealousy and her power immediately powered down(which we now know is a safety feature to protect young miraculous) even though it technically freed chat to come to help her since Adrien the took the opportunity to transform. and that Using multiple ones can put a strain on the body or literally drive you insane according to the guardians and fu.
Gabe was actually showing alot of similar signs as his akuma victims. an increased fixation and desperation, increased agression/temper, having difficulty thinking completely logically which causing both dumb mistakes and that they can't see alternate routes to fixing their problems or that what they are doing isn't ACTUALLY going to help them. where Akuma victims also act more evil and do things that seem out of character or more evil despite it making no sense for their original motive. Often not caring or acknowledging the danger they put people we know they care about in.
The importance of Adrien not being there in the final battle (while annoyed to think about) seems to be more about the importance of Gabe NOT knowing that Adrien is Chat. As Gabe has spent the entire show amplifying his fixation and negative feelings in his hawkmoth persona toward ladybug, chat and that the wish is the only way.....it means the times the show had Gabe act EXTRA evil was actually not just Gabe being a terrible person...but gabe acting more out of character as we have SEEN moments that shows he DOES care about Adrien genuinely...which should point to hwo gabe SHOULD have hesitated when finding out because thats his son...not get worse....which means him getting worse was a side affect if his hawkmoth persona/side affects getting triggered both by it involving chat and the miraculous...but it blurring the lines and taking away one of the clear boundaries/people who grounds Gabe's civilian side.
That would also point to the fact Gabe often isolated himself from Adrien also meant Gabe was isolating himself from one of the few people who could have a connection with his normal civilian conscience...as its easy to miss but if Gabe is exposed to adrien for longer than usual in the show Gabe WILL to some degree listen/soften around adrien a bit.
So Gabe not knowing Adrien is chat actually strengthens the affect that bringing up Adrien has to actually get through to Gabe(to some degree).
like don;t get me wrong...Gabe is still terrible and responsible for what he chose to do...but considering the strong Parallels to Marinette and the best version of Gabe(Betterfly).
H ow thematically the show points to thr fact the akumavillians are actually just people in the throws of their negative emotions who feel alone andtry to get their hurt acknowledged or help themselves...but in the WORST ways that in the heat of their emotions...they can't tell is actually making things worse and not going to help them...and the show reminds us these people doing bad things are in fact Victims...a reminder that the source of their bad actions is hurt...and if someone chooses to face them directly (ike LB and Chat)and find the source of their issue/acknowledging it by literally breaking it open(metaphorically).
Then you can then have an opening to talk to them and give them help or a alternative way to actually fix the issue that they couldnt see due to the overwhelming emotions. the show thematically tends to remind the audience that the vilians who act out are in fact the people in pain and in need of help as justpunishing/fighting them won't solve the problem...that you have to stop them from hurting people...not need to enable them doing bad...but also that heros can offer people who might have acted out not realizing they had other options.
I feel like the show was trying to point to the idea that Gabe was suffering from side affects due to how he was using the miraculous in his desperation...side affects from trying to solve his issue with the wrong method...he's still responsible for what he;s done...but that he does have some wiggle room similar to the akuma victims due to the magic where he didn't realize how he was being warped...much like how akma victims justify and don't realize how they are handling a situation isn't actually solving their issue until someone(the hero) breaks open the source of their problem/acknowledges it/finds out what caused them to act that way...where then it gives them a window to be reasoned with where they feel regretful.
and how hard it can be to fight yourself/ your own emotions at that point...and with Gabe it LITERALLY being him dealing with being compelled by the side affects from misusing his miraculous.
That said the show sucks at getting this entirely across since the show had spent so much time undercutting and dismissing any bot of nuance Gabe had by making him act extra evil or worst either immediately after or in the next episode so it makes complete sense why most of us see Gabe as still that abusive asshole who seems to be getting off scotfree and don't give any credit to his more human sides because the show had been distracting us from those humans sides this WHOLE time....like..Mari and Gabe actually have ALOT of strong parallels but its eitehr not acknowledged at all or its acknowledged just enough to try to act like Mari could never end up like Gabe.
My issue is Adrien has NEVER been blind to his Dad's faults...Adrien KNOWS his dad sucks...he cares about his dad still but he's literally known his dad has been handing his emotionally poorly all the way back in season one. Adrien knows his dad was being both distant and controlling due to poorly handling his grief..just as adrien understood felix was acting out due to his negative emotions and same with CHloe due to her family circumstance...Adrien understood that it was coming from hurt but also didn't excuse them entirely. he knew they were wrong in how they handled things and that how they acted isn't justified....but he also chose to reach out anyway becasue he felt that was the right things to do and that lashing out at symatoms wouldn't solve the issues.
Adrien knew his dad relied on Nathalie to choose his birthday gift. He knew his dad makes excuses to miss outing alot. He clearly knows his dad is unreasonable as Adrien feels no guilt sneaking out to school in origins and at other times like in startrain. Adrien knows Adrien has to validate his own feelings because he can't rely on others to validate them for him. contrary to how mari, Felix and the class views him as a Damsel...WE the audience knows Adrien is smart, not as naive as they think and is a Hero.
So Adrien saying things like how his dad is a good dad and that his dad is a hero feels OFF somehow when we the audience KNOW Adrien's view of his dad has had WAY more nuance all the way from the begining of the show.
I'm not gonna lie...something feels sus about it sine we know how bad Gabe was...even more when Chloe was seen a irredeemable when WE the audience know that isn't actually the case as her spiral had literally started due to Hawkmoth taking her family and pollen hostage where she only agreed once he freed them even if they distracted us with the 'want to be queen bee' thing to think it was just her being entitled...
even more when the show has pointed out that Akuma victims are victims as well because they are guided down a worst path by someone emotionally manipulating them/acting like a friend when they aren't...and how we know Chloe was manipulated by hawkmoth and Lila...but Mari hasn't realized that factor since Chloe pushes people away and didn't realize she was a victim...since its malicious because it makes people believe it's their own idea...only it's harder to notice when you don't have a magic butterfly to blame for agreeing.
I think the show is going to point out that Mari was actually off in how she handled the situation not just with Chloe but with Gabe...and that Chat will be the one to see the importance of clearing everything out in the open.
That said i still agreeing with ripping Gabe a complete new one at all times. seriously he just fucked off and died? and while there is potential here still the show is still hit and a lot of miss with execution and tone!
its giving off the energy of getting the right answer with the wrong equation and that it will blow up in its face. I hope Gabe comes back somehow to get ripped a new one by Adrien/chat like he deserves.
gabe has the energy of someone who knows THEIR motive but doesn't realize howtheir actions comes across when the other person doesn't know what they know. like how gabe just acted the way he did to get adrien on a plane back to safty in the newyork special quickly....even though it was clearly a dick move when Adrien had everyright to go on the trip and the only one making the danger was Gabe and how Adrien not knowing the details is just blaming himself and feelings the worst.
I'm still baffled though by Gabe acting like a dick about adrien dating mari...like in chat blanc it was clearly gabe trying to force abreakup to get a easy akuma victim where it wasn't actually personal...where if he lost like usually he probably planned to be 'convinced' and assume all it good like usual...but we've clearly seen Gabe clearly admire Mari out of everyone of Adrien's friends and Gabe knows he is potentially dying to from the catacysm...and WE know Gabe is just usually lila and isn't ACTUALLY fooled by her...So Gabe trying to act like he doesn't approve feels understandably more weird...even more when they tried to act like Gabe was trying to be nicer to Adrien before that.
also...still side eyeing nathalie. Gabe almost gave up being hawkmoth before but she encouraged him back into it and she was ALSO enjoying being a villian to an uncomfortable degree before the side affects got that bad. Her regrets came a little earlier and she's still better than Gabe but she did enable someone she cared about and didn't realize how he was getting twisted either until it was too late.
girl…WHEN??? WHERE????
what are you talking about???? when you kept him isolated for 14 years??? when you robbed him of bodily autonomy???? when you exposed him to his mother’s corpse to akumatize him, TWICE????
wait, wait—OH you mean when he was terrified for his life, literally begging you to stop after you beat him up. my bad.
no? OH, you mean when you forced him to leave the country and the love of his life.
Huh.

Miraculous Side Effects
For Maribat March day 6 theme miraculous side effects
Master List
Despite popular belief, the miraculous did not give you powers or animalistic side effects outside of the miraculous. So no she did not eat aphids and could not create things out of thin air.
The only side effect of the miraculous was you became a little more in tune with a certain part of yourself. For Tikki it was being more structured/organized, with Plagg you became a little more chaotic, Trixx you became a little more honest, and so on.
Most days Marinette found herself wearing the ox miraculous, a nose ring. For some reason nose rings scared people off and most days she was so deep into her work she didn’t want to be talked to. Unfortunately, this came with the side effect of being more hot-headed. When especially pissed off she forgot all reason and would either tell a person off or beat a person up. Neither was pretty.
And just her luck that today was one of those days. She had been up for 28 hours working on Jagged and Penny’s outfits for some rich man’s gala.
With any luck she wouldn’t have to attend, not that she didn’t have a dress she always had one on hand, but she really didn’t want to socialize with a bunch of rich people. If they were anything like Chloe or Kagami, no offense to her best friends of course, then they would be a pain to talk to.
Now here she was in this coffee shop, she didn’t bother remembering the name of, to get a cup of coffee so she could finish the stitching on Penny’s dress.
Ignoring the guy’s horrified expression at how much caffeine she wanted and his muttering of ‘there’s now a female one’ she patiently waited for her cup.
The second she got it she chugged most of it down, immediately feeling more awake. Screw sleep, she could take a nap once she was done.
She had literally just finished drinking it all when a body slammed into hers. She ended up falling on the ground, cup still in hand, and glared at the person who bumped into her, mostly because he was still standing.
Her first thought was ‘Fuck, he’s cute’. What was it with her and green eyed men? Faintly she could hear someone saying, “Good going Demon Spawn!” but she wasn’t paying attention.
The lid had fallen off the cup and now the little bit that was still left had splattered onto her clothes. And she liked this shirt too.
He offered her a hand but she was still pissed off, her mind no longer listening to reason, and it didn’t help that Stompp’s side effect was amping up her aggression.
Completely ignoring his offer of help she got up and gave him her best glare, the one that had grown men shaking. Now this wasn’t her best moment, but in her defense she was sleep deprived and now needed to change her clothes which took up more of her precious time.
“Dude watch where you’re going next time!” She shouted, the whole place went silent.
It took the dude a moment to say something but she just ended up cutting him off, “Look I’m sorry, I-”
“You’re sorry. Yeah, apology not accepted.” And with that she grabbed her lid off the ground, dramatically smashed her cup with one hand, and threw both things away in the trash can by the door as she walked out.
It wasn’t until she had finished Penny’s dress and took a much needed nap that she realized the opportunity she just wasted. She could’ve accepted the apology and maybe got a date with a really cute guy! But no she just had to act all snappy and rude to him and she was glad she never had to see him again. Gotham was a big city and what were the chances she would see him again after all.
Stompp just thought she did the right thing telling the guy off. Of course, the most aggressive of the kwami would be telling her that. She really should try wearing Daizzi’s miraculous one of these days. Not that it was going to help her racing heart whenever she thought of him.
-
Despite what everyone, including sometimes his own family thought, Damian did care for his family. That included his siblings.
Which is why he was here, with Jason Todd of all people, trying to get Tim Drake to come home and take a nap. They had a mandatory gala to attend on the weekend and Bruce didn’t want Tim Drake acting like a zombie for it.
Damian was trying to do his job and get Tim Drake home while Jason Todd thought it would be funny to tease the both of them.
This may or may not have resulted in him saying some not appropriate things to Jason Todd resulting in Jason Todd shoving him resulting in him accidentally knocking down someone. He fully blames Jason Todd.
He looked down at the girl he had knocked down and the first thought that came to him was ‘Fuck, she’s pretty’. Where the hell did that come from? This thought almost drowned out Jason Todd’s “Good going Demon Spawn!” Keyword, almost, he definitely was going to maim Jason Todd later.
Looking back at the girl with gorgeous blue eyes, adorable freckles and was that a nose ring he offered her his hand to help her up, doing his best to ignore those that were whispering around them.
Much to his and he’s pretty sure his brother’s surprise, she gave him a glare that could rival the batglare and completely ignored his hand when getting herself off the ground.
Then another shocker was when she shouted at him, “Dude watch where you’re going next time!” The whole place went quiet at that, she had just yelled at the Ice Prince.
It took him a minute to compose himself as he tried to apologize only to be cut off, “Look I’m sorry, I-”
“You’re sorry. Yeah, apology not accepted.” And with that final statement she grabbed the lid that had fallen off her cup, smashed said cup before throwing both things in a trash can as she walked out. Woah that was hot Shut Up Brain!
“What just happened?” Tim Drake questioned.
“Demon Spawn just pissed off a girl. Tried to apologize to her and she rejected his apology.” Jason Todd laughed.
“Shut up Todd!” Damian snapped, “Let us just get Drake back to the manor.”
“Yeah, yeah, on it Demon.” Jason Todd said before throwing Tim Drake over his shoulder and walking out the door. Damian kept his head down as he followed them.
Later he would think about the girl with blue eyes, freckles, and a nose ring and would not be able to stop his racing heart. Or his siblings teasing after Jason Todd told them the story of the girl who rejected him after he had bumped into her. And it wasn’t like he was ever going to see her again.
-
Those that were in the coffee shop would have a story to tell their friends. The Ice Prince of Gotham bumped into a girl, tried to apologize to said girl and she didn’t accept his apology. Or try to flirt with him or sue him. And none of them had gotten it on video.
Who knows? Maybe he’ll get a second chance at a first impression. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Honestly I thought Adrien being sidelines was important specifically for gabriel. If we take betterfly as the best version of Gabriel that means the times gabe ISN"T being a dick are sincere(easier to see this in the earlier seasons) and how most of us thought Gabe being that cruel when he finds out adrien was chat felt out of character and odd when we've seen gabe care(not great at showing it but sincere).
I actually thought the issue was Gabe has been making himself unstable like one of his akuma victims using his miraculous the wrong way all this time coupled with how he ampliphies his own negative emotions, his grief, his sense of failure, his desperation and hsi hyper fixation to get the akuma victims to focus on getting him the miraculouses. He akumatized himself which he admited he didn't know the side affects of that, used his miraculous the wrong way over and over and over again when we've seen side affects just from using it ONCE with your emotions off like mari's miraclous powering down immeditaley when she used it due to jealousy in bubbler to seperate chloe and adrien, let alone master fu and feast/the sentimonster. and how qucikly side affects can appear due to what we saw with the peacock.
Gabe made a split with his hawkmoth persona to get the power to get the wish to save his wife...but we've seen if gabe is exposed as gabe to adrien enough he CAN be reasoned with sometimes or seem to calm down....this can be seen as adrien grounding gabe and reminding him of his intial motivation to get the miraculous and even with nathalie..nathalie getting hurt grounded gabe for a while due to her assosiation with his civilian side.
as hawkmoth gabe tends to get noticable more agressive, more difficult to reason with and tends to make dumb mistakes and get hyper fixated.
I always thought that if gabe was 'normal' he would understandably balk at the idea of adrien being chat simlar to how he reacted when his 'theory' to prove adrien was chat didn't result in adrien transforming.
so I thought the reason gabe doesn't react that way is because finding out adrien is chat triggers his hawkmoth persona to come more forward since hawkmoth has been amplifying his negative emotions in association with ladybug and chat noir. the hawkmoth part of him taking center stage over the gabriel part in that scenerio.
and that the reason Adrien was left out of the fight was because if gabe found out adrien was chat it would be WAY harder to try to talk him down or reason with him since one of the things tethering Gabe was Civilian Adrien.
and that they were trying to go for a parallel to collector(one of the times gabe's apologies to adrien seemed sincere and thorough in admitting that Gabe himself was the one with issues despite adrien taking the book without permission) and how gabe was pretty reasonable and showed his good side by understanding and not snapping at mari for 'taking' the miraculous book. even answering some of her questions and agreeing to not tell adrien that marinette returned the book as he saw it was brave of her to come forward with the book when she had every reason to believe she would get in trouble for it.
With Adrien/chat being there in the influence he has on Mari...as she was more willing to reach out and see that Gabe/Hawkmoth needed help...as Mari tends to be the stubborn one who IS a good person but tends to be stricter with bad behavior and not letting people get away with stuff.....while Adrien/Chat tends to be the one who helps remind Mari/LB to look closer at people and that people are complex.
I mean the Chloe being irredeemable thing messes that up a bit since the show had been teaching mari that aspect using Chloe so them making chloe irredeemable kindof ruins that lesson and why mari would be willing to give hawkmoth/Gabe a shot of understanding...even more when he had been the worst that season.
But I thought it was similar to like how akuma victims can't really think clearly in the heat of the negative emotions. With the tragedy being that Gabe might have genuinely been good before but had twisted himself due to his use of his miraculous in the wrong way so he was experiencing symptoms like his akuma victims without a easy fix. and that Gabe isolating himself from his loved ones to focus on saving the mom actually drove him deeper into that side effect to make a parallel and contrast to how marinette when she got too hyper focused on being a good guardian stopped listening to everyone properly where she had to realize she was making that mistake.
That way it would explain the few good aspects of Gabriel and how the dude could be someone like Betterfly under the right circumstances while not dismissing the way Gabe was getting cartoonishly horrible and doing things that made little sense for his motivation and missed what seemed like obvious fixes to get what he actually wanted(like him missing the time travel route to save the mom).
Coupled of course with him not being chosen, using his miraculous the wrong way, and using multiple ones that can put a strain on the user and which can canonically drive someone into insanity.
In retrospect, it's pretty clear why Adrien wasn't there to learn Monarch was his father in The Final Day.
Namely because "Chat Blanc" and "Ephemeral" each explained why.
His intense emotions over seeing his mother and learning his father became a villain in order to save her would be too good of an opportunity to akumatize him against Ladybug.
Thus Adrien benching himself is essentially the reason why Marinette was able to knock the Moth Miraculous off Gabriel and talk him down.
However... this only means that there's an extra layer of despair painted upon what would've been Adrien's angst over his father's dark secret. Clearly, his father's "sacrifice" is what keeps him going in believing his final moments were heroic.
So what happens when Adrien learns that not only was his father trying to bring back Emilie and became a villain to do so but that he also went out after causing Operation: Alliance to start with. No way to confront his father about this reveal and even Nathalie would be hard pressed for a straight answer.
Hell, I can imagine him crossing the line and forcing Plagg to spill the beans at his direct command. He and Marinette have been good in never, if ever, enforcing rules upon Tikki or Plagg so... woo.
And with Lila likely possessing this information be it from what Hoaxer got out of Nathalie or Nooroo, something tells me that we're in for something far, FAR worse than Chat Blanc if that's even feasibly possible. Perhaps only that the Lucky Charm can't easily undo.
Aaaaaaaaaand that's why there was more of a benefit to keep Adrien to the side for Season 5's finale. If you can't feel the storm that's slowly brewing, better get an umbrella now.

I’ve just watched the trailer of a A new South Korean series called “The Glory” which debuted on Netflix on December 30, 2022, and I loved the main character speach to her elementary students as their new teacher :
“From now on, know that The following 3 things no longer matter in this class : Your parents' work, your parents' fortune, or their relationships.
And there is an essential rule to follow in this class. We don't bully others, whether it's for their clothes, or because you have a nicer car or your house is bigger.
If I catch you bullying a comrade, I should punish you, and I will make your whole family pay for it, your mother who buys your clothes, your father who drives his luxury car, or your grandparents who have bought your house”
The teacher giving this speach, Moon Dong Eun, has been victim of horrible agressions in high school, and according to the synopsis, she’s planing her revenge. And the show is rated +16
So is it bad that I wish characters like Chloé, Sabrina and Kim or even Lila had this teacher in elementary school ? Or that I wish she would replace Miss Bustier in Marinette’s college class ^^’ ?
The showrunner of this serie claimed that she wanted to portray a realistic story to raise awareness about bullying in schools. And a very chocking scene from The Glory when Moon is assaulted by a group of classmates was inspired by a true story.
And Miraculous Ladybug is a French-Korean-Japanese animated serie. To think I thought Bullying in France was bad, I don’t even want to see how bad it actually is in South Corea and Japan

Something else that paints Adrien's decision to tell Marinette to take the "High Road" in a new light (which I learned from a TV Tropes page for a fanfic that deconstructs Salt Fics): Adrien tried to get Lila to stop lying, and then Chameleon attacked him.
He might have actually been concerned for Marinette's safety when he gave her that advice.
YEAH LIKE
So first off: while I had him there in Lady Luck, Adrien didn't see what happened in the cafeteria.
And just. Adrien can see the pattern with Lila:
Ladybug called Lila out in a very humiliating way in 'Volpina'? She got Akumatized.
Marinette tried to poke holes in Lila's story in 'Catalyst'? She got Akumatied.
Adrien tried to quietly and tactfully tell Lila 'hey I know you're lying but I'm not going to be mean, I'm just going to tell you that we'll still be friends if you stop'? She got Akumatized.
Marinette going off all agressive, just like Ladybug did in 'Volpina' is getting nowhere and will just get Lila Akumatized and make Marinette her target. And she's not making any prgoress because Lila is smart and keeps turning it around on her(doesn't help that she's acting absolutely insane)
Wouldn't it be better to hold back until her lies fall apart and she gets one more Akumatization but is defeated for good rather than 50 more dangerous Akumas that only serve to make Marnette look like an asshole?
It's not a /great/ plan but I can see the logic in it.

Hell no
marinette/ladybug have been the ones following this mindset the most
for five seasons
its not fair that everyone keeps saying this only to her and no one else and im tired of acting like caline wasn't being stupid, like… just purely blind towards every agression that marinette had to face
Yes, yes, and yes. Finally someone is saying it.
And the same goes for Ladybug. Help and be kind even to those you don’t like. Don’t be like them, be better.
