Bloodstone #3 CGC 9.8 2002 Marvel
Tumblr media
We have a great copy of Bloodstone #3 from 2002 in a CGC 9.8 available.  Featuring the monster hunting Elsa Bloodstone, it has a cool cover of her and is available now. The "Bloodstone" series, written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with artwork by Michael Lopez, delved into Elsa Bloodstone's origin and her role as a monster hunter. It also explores her family's legacy and her battle against supernatural creatures. After the initial limited series, Elsa Bloodstone went on to appear in various Marvel comic books, including "Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E." and "Bloodstone & The Legion of Monsters." She has become a notable character in the Marvel Universe, particularly within the supernatural and monster-hunting genre.

Stuart Immonen's cover for 2006's Nextwave: Agents of H.a.T.E. #1 (from his interview by The Comics Journal in 2020). One of the gems of the second half of the 2000's era of Marvel Comics, along with the cosmic stuff by Abnett & Lanning and the Incredible Hercules series.

Wellness Wednesday:
Better, Warmer, Closer
Last week I reported I was sick, and today... I would say I am still not 100% - I say, I am 85%.
I still need the use of cough drops, still blowing my nose multiple times a day, and still have sinus pressure.
But, none of that has prevented me from forging on.
I up'd the ante in my workout routine by increasing the sets/reps and adding squats back into the rotation.
Now, with my previous workouts I was getting my sweat on - but - with this new regiment I am sweating buckets - I am sweating from pores that I didn't even know were active.
Increasing the sets/reps and adding squats have also reintroduced the classic muscle burn - something I haven't felt since January.
I was also leery of adding squats back into the mix as they were often paired with knee pain, but I took the risk of adding squats back since I've lost over 80 pounds - so far - with the reduced weight, I have no current indications of knee pain.
Hoping I can keep trucking and feel fully recouped of illness by the weekend.

Closing Thoughts:
The Good:
Been getting workouts done during regular hours which has been improving my sleep - or - the previous lack thereof.
Appetite has increased since my recent illness, and yet my weight has maintained from last week.
Put a massive dent into my student loans before interest start accruing back. Hope to have them fully paid off before the end of the year.
The Bad:
Still stuffy. Waiting on my head to clear.
The Ugly:
Nothing worst than my head-cold this week - so, not too bad.

for wwbn, there arent much i found, but definitely start with the Marvel’s Spotlight: Werewolf by Night (1973?) !! it’s the first appearance, i think, and it’s his about his first transformation.
then, go for the Dead of Night ft Werewolf by Night (2009) !! it’s set years after his first transformation, and it doesn’t follow the Marvel Spotlight canon but it’s TOO GOOD. jack has a wife and child in this one, so it’s very enjoyable :]] (a lot of blood and graphic-ish guts tho!) also sort of like a murder mystery.
for elsa bloodstone, read Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. (2010 or something i forgot) since it’s the basic of her character !! it’s super fun too and doesn't take itself seriously so it’s just a light-hearted comic about a team called the nextwave. the team consists of monica rambeau, aaron stack, elsa bloodstone, the captain, and tabitha smith.
a must read for BOTH of them is Legions of Monsters (2011) !! a team up of jack, elsa, morbius, the mummy, and manphibian. it’s super fun and also wolfstone.
an optional one would be Death of Doctor Strange: Bloodstone (2022). you’ll miss a few things if you don’t read Avengers Arena (2013) but basically elsa has a little brother named cullen!! i like this issue because of the bloodstone family fluff haha.
the lack of wwbn mcu stuff made me surf the comics and helped me find gems to read idk what happened

Nextwave: Agents Of H.A.T.E. #7 - #8.
Writer - Warren Ellis.
Artist - Stuart Immonen.
P.S: This character needs to return to the comics, he was so crazy, so funny and so cute at the same time. Also, I would love to see him in the MCU, he would be a great comic relief in my opinion.

H.A.T.E.-URDAY: NEXTWAVE
I'd love a NEXTWAVE month sometime, @xgabo, if you're into that. The H.A.T.E. gov org is amusing, the team a great selection of characters.
And there's skateboarding, dancing MINDLESS ONES (rank 525; vote)
