Bughaw

Callsign: "Blue" in Tagalog

Ramona Nicole Cabrera: Ramona is usually a feminine given name, the feminine form of Ramon (Spanish) and Raymond (Old German), meaning "wise protector". Bughaw's blue fire was inspired by Azula (ATLA) and Dabi (BNHA). It's complete burning of carbon: I wanted the ruthlessness and precision needed to make hotter flames, compared to those of Phoenix which represent life and vitality. She chose her callsign to contrast her other names that had foreign origins. It's also to make people think of the sea and sky first, and associate that with her (usually when they're getting attacked). Plus, it's fun to see the other agents pronounce it. As for her real name: it's how Bughaw feels about her crew and the protocol. :)

Circe

Circe: an enchantress and minor goddess in Greek mythology. Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs. Through the use of these and a magic wand or staff, she would transform her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals.

Dominique Drew: Dominique is a unisex French name of Latin origin that means "of the Lord." Drew is both a surname and a given name. The origin of the name is based from the old Greek andreios for "brave" or "courageous."

Circe matches Phoenix's callsign in being resilient, creating new things, and flat-out Refusing to Die. The name speaks for itself. A lot of her abilities cook up illusions and mystery, while also helping her team—only her team (for now). Dominique grew up celebrating the traditions of her hometown, but wants freedom to travel the world and to see other cultures. While her dads call her "Minnie," both she and Bughaw can be nicknamed "Nicky." I also wanted her to share a surname with Nancy Drew (girlboss).

Mawawala ba naman ito? Syempre hindi! Pagkatapos ng island hopping at iba pang mga aktibidad ay nanaisin ng katawan mo ang lamig ng tubig dito. Ang bughaw na kulay ng tubig ay sadyang kaakit akit sa kaninuman.

Im sorry to ask this but where do you get the idea for Rozs name? I heard it means pink in Bulgarian. Although do tell me XDD

It's no problem!! I love answering asks, I've just been terribly slow at it LMAOO anyways YEA Roz was chosen because it's pink in a different language - it's also pink in Romanian :3c I love finding convoluted ways to name my characters LOL For this group, I chose the languages as they correspond to a different team member's nationality:

Danica is Agent Verte, which means green in French -> Emile is Agent Indigo, English name -> Ernest is Agent Roz, which is pink in Romanian -> Sadira is Agent Bughaw, which is blue in Filipino -> Danica again

In-universe, they did Not choose these codenames because of this reason specifically, they're given by the higher ups. It's just fun though! Agent Turquoise is unique in the sense that it's both the name of a color and a gemstone. She gets to be a special little bug. Technically she chose that codename for herself too heehe

(This is also my process for choosing the codenames for the swapped villains in the spy swap au! If there wasn't an irish word for yellow, Joyce would've been agent yellow instead aheehee)

Would Agent Bughaw have a soft spot for Roz?

Bughaw does have a soft spot for Roz, yes! She's basically the reason why Roz gets to stay in the team. Verte doesn't approve of the decision at first, and Indigo couldn't care less about anything that's going on...but they learn how to cooperate in time. If we're being honest Bughaw has a soft spot for the rest of the team, they wouldn't be here if it weren't for her.

She's just a little. secretive. about why and how she chose to bring them under her supervision. Though i can safely say it's always out of genuine concern. It kinda frustrates Verte a little that Bughaw's not being completely honest but she eventually finds a way to work with Roz.

Have the agent's or villain's ever had a falling out?

Between themselves? Other than Emile leaving the League of ID, there hasn't been a huge conflict in the two groups as of now. As much as Danica isn't all that cooperative with her newer teammates, she still (kinda) tolerates them. Dani and Sadira probably had some heated arguments in the past, but nothing too big to warrant breaking their bond. Emile's little stunt is the only one that comes to mind.
