Can we talk about the way the coven is still with Agatha when she fights Rio?!? The protective/banishing circle, the water in the moonlight healing spell, “when she calls you a coward, hit the deck”, and of course Billy coming in himself. They really were a true coven

Lilia knew that he would become Billy Maximoff.
Lilia knew and she saw and she knew and she put that sigil to protect him.
(Who protected Tommy.)
Lilia do you realize that maybe if Wanda had been able to find him she wouldn't have felt the need to EVERYTHING IN DSMOM

Wardrobe Storytelling
Tumblr media
The first thing I noticed in the wine shot was the painting behind everyone. Now I couldn't screenshot the video I got this behind-the-scenes photo, the image was added in post-production; but the painting shows two women floating in the water almost lifeless.
The next thing I noticed was how everyone has a matching wardrobe color scheme. Sharon is the character we are most visually drawn to because while everyone else's clothes lean more towards a warmer tone with oranges, browns, and whites; Sharon leaps out at you with a heavy blue palette, much colder than the rest. The only other blues we see besides within the set decor is Teen's button up that's under a white sweater and Lilia's scarf ends fade into a blue.
Sharon is the most in your face because this is foreshadowing her death, further emphasized in a later scene where she's shot directly under a lone woman in the water. We know this death is coming because she isn't a witch, she doesn't belong on this dangerous road, she's sticking out like a sore thumb.
Teen shows a partial amount of blue to subtly inform us that there's something off about him as well. I don't believe this implies his death but to unconsciously unsettle us about him. (I originally assumed it was because he would be with Sharon during her death or be the one to cause it)
Lilia has a bit of blue because she has insight to the future. It's very easily missed and tucked away from view a lot as well.

After Hahn’s standout performance in 2021 as a nefarious neighbor in WandaVision, Marvel Studios’ first crack at television, the show’s creator knew she wanted to build a project in her image. “We’ve always said that the tone of the show is Kathryn Hahn,” Schaeffer says.
[snip]
Jac Schaeffer needed a classic TV neighbor: a combo of Mrs. Roper from Three’s Company and Rhoda from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, mixed with a little bit of Mona from Who’s the Boss? It was 2019, and she was developing Marvel’s first superhero sitcom. But this character was also secretly an antagonist, Schaeffer says, “so there needed to be a performer who could drop the mask and then have teeth.”
[snip]
“The Agatha character was tacked on,” Schaeffer says. But that was before Schaeffer heard Hahn might be available. “We were like, ‘Could we really? Could we maybe?’” The idea of casting someone with Hahn’s résumé in what was then a small part seemed a tad far-fetched, but Schaeffer wanted to pitch her on it anyway. After accepting an invitation to the WandaVision writers room, Hahn sat next to Schaeffer and listened. “She was right there, looking at me with her blue, blue eyes, really dialed in on what I was saying,” Schaeffer says. “My memories of that day are all in close-up because she’s got such an intensity to her. But it’s warm, that’s the thing.”
[snip]
As soon as Hahn came on board, the role grew. “There was just an abundance of opportunity to peel back layers,” Schaeffer says. “And that’s what she brought.”
[snip]
From the first episode, a black-and-white I Love Lucy–style parody, Hahn’s performance popped. It reminded Schaeffer of how memorable Hahn was in the ’50s drama Revolutionary Road. “Seeing her slip into that physicality and the vocal tone of that era, it didn’t surprise me, but it was so delightful,” Schaeffer says. “To see her bring that expertise and that skill set to the sitcom space and the golden age of TV space was just delicious. And the hair, and the look, and the nails. As a fan, I was like, ‘Look at the icon go.’”
[snip]
Have no fear, Hahn Hive: Her decision to join the mostly family-friendly Marvel world hasn’t drained her main superpowers. Leading up to filming Agatha All Along, Schaeffer says that Hahn and Agatha started to blend together in her mind. And during rehearsals, when Schaeffer tried to watch Hahn’s Hulu show, Tiny Beautiful Things, she had to stop. “I totally underestimated the amount of physical prep Kathryn had done to embody Agatha that when I saw her as this other character, it just made me really uncomfortable,” Schaeffer says. “I was like, ‘I’m looking at somebody wearing a Kathryn suit.’ It was just really good acting, but it just freaked me out.”
[snip]
Hahn has been, and always will be, a character actor. But once in a while, someone like her gets a chance to have the spotlight to herself. “This totally crazy show that is a total high-wire act, that has all the comedy and all the drama and is horror and also a warm and fuzzy found-family story, of course it’s all centered on Kathryn Hahn,” Schaeffer says. “It’s like she’s been training for this her entire life, and I and everybody I know is ready to show up for it.”
[snip]
“I feel like I’m in the portal to the next phase of my life as a woman,” Hahn says. “I think that the act of becoming a witch is the next chapter, where you can have these feelings that you’re told not to for all these years. Rage. All the things that we could do when we were little girls, all the things that were squeezed out of us, seem to feel like they are allowed as a witch.”

One of the things I loved about Agatha All Along was not only was Rio latina (I'm part Mexican on my Dad's side) but she also heavily drew on Santa Muerta (Holy Death) for her visuals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The different color cloaks represent different aspects of Santa Muerta like red for justice ect.)
My headcannon is that Agatha was in South America doing some hijinks when she encountered Rio. Agatha attempted to do a divination con and claimed she could get a favor from Santa Muerta, but at a price. To prank/teach Agatha a lesson, Rio actually shows up and scares away the people Agatha was trying to rip off. To Rio's surprise not only is Agatha not scared of her, but Agatha tries to flirt with Rio. Agatha's pick up lines are in pretty poor Spanish, but it gets Rio to laugh and they end up falling for one another. The only lesson Agatha learns is that one needs to have the people she is conning pay up front incase something unexpected happens.

Do you think Nicky felt Agatha die?
Do you think Rio had to look Nicky in the eyes and tell him that his mother chose to be a ghost rather than be with them because she was afraid of facing him, afraid of whatever he might feel towards her, afraid of her own guilt and inability to save him even though there was nothing she could have done to do so in the first place?
Do you think he finally feels like what Agatha thought she’d done to him many years ago: abandoned?

12K words already drafted for this agathario fic. Jfc. Somebody help me; this is going to consume me.
Hopefully, I can start putting up chapters soon. I just also realized that it will be the first fic ever where I post chapter updates on a weekly or bi-weekly basis (haven't decided yet the cadence).
I definitely want to make sure I do it right, otherwise, the fact of having to go back and edit previously uploaded chapters will haunt me for life. I always catch things on a seventh and eighth review that just don't feel quite right.
I'm going to overanalyze every detail again like I did with Undone. Oh, this feeling. A gift and a curse.

Obviously Agatha doesn’t want to die, she’s been fighting to survive since she was very young. But I still think it’s amusing to assume that when Jen is talking about the poison and says that it leads to death, Agatha tries to break the glass because she doesn’t want to see her ex so badly she loses it

Billy.
Agatha suspected who you were from the beginning.
And she still saved you from drinking the wine.
And she still tried to keep the other witches off your trail.
And she still told Rio not to take you.
And she still sat with you while you were healing.
I FEEL. LIKE THAT. SHOULD COUNT. FOR SOMETHING.

Spoilers for the Agatha All Along ep5
While it hurt me to my CORE I am not really surprised that Alice is dead. I figured from trailers that this will be her last trial, and she got rid of the curse and actually got some closure - which is what she came for in the first place. I REALLY hope shes only dead on the road and that she wakes up somewhere in the overword but im not getting my hopes up lol.
Im still processing the end and all that it implies. Idk why it shocked me so hard like i KNEW this was gonna happen but it just surprised me. Also the fact that Agatha KNOWS. Brings out so many fucking questions! How long has she known? What tipped her off? Why didnt she say anything earlier??
I agree that the whole trial felt very strange, and i really dont believe its over. Also the detail of them climbing up for the end instead of down…hmm. Theres also the fact that we didnt see the door, and there was no element mentioned (still convinced it was spirit). Also no aspect ratio change?? Very strange i just dont buy it.
I am SO excited to see where this goes but for the love of nature PLEASE GIMME LONGER EPISODES. THIS ONE IS A WHOLE 10 MINUTES SHORTER THAN THE REST. Next one should be 50 mins. To compensate ya know.
Anyway. Theory post based on colouring and context clues from trailers coming, i just need to process todays shit show first.

I see Billy being so afraid of accidentally killing his coven, that he becomes a bit of a loner, like Agatha. Agatha won't be able to be seen by non-magical beings so Billy will always look like a lone witch. So even when he does meet up with any of the Young Avengers, he will be wary about joining them. We will see a newly masked Billy, a new facet of his personality caused by the trauma of his discovery about just what his power is capable of subconsciously. Like Agatha, we will see him learn to mask his true self.
He definitely deserves to have a coven - if we've learned anything from Lilia's trial, it's that a witch needs one. I have a feeling that he will carry the teachings he learned from Alice, Jen and Lilia all his life to help balance out Agatha's advice and teachings. They are still his original coven. They chose him individually eventually and all showed him kindness and care. Unlike how Agatha's original coven treated her.
I know his quest to find Tommy and build a relationship with him is bound to be contentious. The life he's put Tommy in is bound to affect Tommy's character. This will be an interesting dynamic.

I think as many problems Agatha has with Rio taking her son, Agatha's always had a problem with Rio's 'Job'.
Rio's job took her away from Agatha for days at a time, for months, maybe even years. This might be the catalyst why Agatha wanted to have a child, someone who is hers.
This is also why, IMO, Rio felt bemused with Detective Agnes's question: "Why are you here?"
"My job," Rio Vidal tells her, honestly.
Daniel Selon said that as he and Kathryn Hahn talked about costuming and how she perceived Agatha, Kathryn Hahn said she thought of Agatha as a raven. A naturally tribal person who was cast out of her own tribe.
Agatha is a loner, but it wasn't initially by choice. She wanted community and that was initially Rio. But Rio is Death. Agatha will never be Death's first priority, no matter how much they both wish it.
Even before Nicky's death, I believe that Agatha and Death were already having problems because for someone like Agatha, being second place in anyone's life is not ideal. She will tolerate it, to a point.
Nicky though was supposed to be 100% hers.
And then Nicky's time ran out, and Death claimed him.
After Nicky died, Agatha went full ID. She ran towards everything that wouldn't make her sit and feel her grief.
On Rio's end, it seems her issue with Agatha is how Agatha just constantly runs away. Agatha barely mourned Nicky before picking up the Ballad con right where Nicky was buried.
No wonder Agatha was afraid to face Nicky.
And, I think that is one of Rio's issues with Agatha. Agatha is constantly afraid of facing her own feelings.
If Rio ever had a song for Agatha, it would be from Angelica Schuyler's Congratulations or at least a line from it:
