I’ve reached the level in my life where I can now fully relate to Cath from Fangirl as I have now started writing fanfiction.
And I am not ashamed of myself.
P.S, this fanfiction won’t be shared anywhere, it is purely for my own enjoyment and as a way to cope with the next book in a series not being released yet (sounds a bit dramatic when I put it like that 😅)
But if you’re curious as to what series I’m writing fanfiction for, it’s called The Agapéd Bearer saga by Hannah Lindsey, and if you haven’t already heard of it, or if you have, you should definitely check it out!
No this is definitely not me trying to get more people to read the series (yes it is)

“Oh, how superior is the Eye of Horus to the Mouth of Isis!” — Aleister Crowley
Aeon of Horus Talon Abraxas
The modern Aeon of Horus, with our times of self-realization as well as a growing interest in all things spiritual, is considered to be dominated by the Principle of the Child. The Word of its Law is Thelema (will) which is complimented by Agape (love), and its formula is Abrahadabra. Individuality and finding the "True Will" are the dominant aspects; its formula is that of growth, in consciousness and love, toward self-realization.
Of the Aeon of Horus, Crowley writes:
the crowned and conquering child, who dieth not, nor is reborn, but goeth radiant ever upon His Way. Even so goeth the Sun: for as it is now known that night is but the shadow of the Earth, so Death is but the shadow of the Body, that veileth his Light from its bearer. (Heart of the Master)
And also:
The Aeon of Horus is here: and its first flower may well be this: that, freed of the obsession of the doom of the Ego in Death, and of the limitation of the Mind by Reason, the best men again set out with eager eyes upon the Path of the Wise, the mountain track of the goat, and then the untrodden Ridge, that leads to the ice-gleaming pinnacles of Mastery! (Little Essays Towards Truth, "Mastery")

Local_Storage_Only: New Skin Shrine
No Future stands before the thing that is to be his body. It gleams dull spectrums in the light of the hangar, new-printed metal already patinae’d with iridescent green-and-ruddish stain, wrapped about in dark cloth. The headstone has long since resolved into its constituent shapes in his mind’s eye; a sitting giant, knees tucked high to hide their lowered head, hands wrapped about their legs and clutching at their scalp. A mourner through and through.
He wonders if that’s what he looks like. Not quite; but it’s not a shape he’s against. The drift is little enough to stem potential combat-chassis dysmorphia, a confounding if thankfully minor worry at the periphery of his thoughts. Hopefully it looks as good standing.
“Are you sure this’ll work out?” She can hear the nervous tremor in Caoise’s voice; she’s scared to lose another friend. It’s understandable. All the same, she nods.
“I really think so. I’m ready to— get on my way to the next chapter. Whatever that is.”
“We’ll make sure your setup is comfortable,” Saleh assures. “Let us know when you’re ready.”
Nofie takes a long, last look around at his friends, assembled in the hangar. He doesn’t think it will be the last ever, but with disconnect comes darkness, and she wants to hold this imagine sharp in her mind as whatever happens, happens. “…Ready,” she says, and with a thought and a flicked switch her subaltern goes dark.
Saleh and Caoise heave the heavy casket out of its housing like pall-bearers, lying it to rest on a wheeled workbench. Their movements are careful as they pull her along to the back of the crouching beast, the frozen wailer; hung-open panels reveal a long, narrow chute, a casket receptacle leading into the core of the chassis. When they raise their pall again, and balance Nofie ‘feet-first’ on the lip of the opening, they find the next motion as smooth as silk. The tolerances are perfect; a space made exactly to hold her. No Future slides into place with barely a hairsbreadth gap. A dull *cthunk* heralds connection, and…
Darkness. Thought alone, and the memory of those faces. Then, cold water along her spine. No Future stands, or slumps, or falls, on the edge of a beach he has never seen before; facing him is [you understand I need to preserve some sense of mystique], ankles wet in the clear tide.
“Was it always going to end this way?” No Future asks. “Could I have saved him?”
“You did,” answers [nuh uh], not unkind. “Many times. What found him no one could stop.”
“I wish that made it feel better. But what about the other ship?”
“Is he here now?”
“No.”
“Then you already understand. It was always going to end this way, because it did.” [sorry]’s hands spread wide; apology. Comfort.
“And what about everyone else? How do they end?”
And they respond
Are you kidding? Or does your name mean nothing to you? There is no end worth fearing.
The chassis stirs. Casket entry port seals over, armored in sloped plate. The skeletal mourner unclasps its hands from about its corse, each three-fingered with wicked talons. Its swift legs, built like a runner, unfurl as it stands, and its arms pull away from behind it— its left shoulder produces a single bicep, wheel-elbowed like a pictograph star and carrying upon it many forearms (the right shoulder unwraps but a single limb, lank and hidden until now). The head raises high on a neck of cable and verterbral binding, and it is a sharpened rhombal thing; Thracian eviscerated; a set of jaws locked agape and within, set at the throat lies a single, staring optic in harsh sunlit color. It is a fine skeleton of metal angles, a strange gladiator returned from beyond; and from within the snarled crest of the helm, a familiar voice resounds:
“…I don’t think I’ve been this tall before. We’ll take it!”

Dear Dr.Bile
I was wondering, *how* do you treat any Death Guard? I mean, logically they must rarely require your service, being kinda immortal and all, but if they do... Do you peel the armour off? Do they molt?!? How do you make sure that they don't contaminate everything ever???? Do you have chase off any stray nurgling after?????
Tumblr media
Small particles that may be tiny flies dance through the rays that the almost-sun casts obliquely through the thick skylights with tarnished transparisteel into Khorag Sinj's private laboratory. The heavy full lock shutters are pulled back and hang rustily from the sides of the ceiling. The heady smell of growth and death, of fungi and water is undisturbed by air flows. The Death Guard Apothecary's area is, in a way, even far more secure than the Chief Apothecary's private laboratory - though for entirely different reasons. It has the biggest air filters, the best maintained airlocks on the doors and is the furthest away from everyone else.
Which doesn't bother him. At least not much. He has his peace. Whether he wants it or not.
With a sigh, he leans to the side and pats the coiled tentacles on Paz'uz's head. The demon looks up and grunts amiably as he snaps at Khorag's hand.
The marine shakes his head, straightens up again with a groan. "No, it's not time to play. I've got work to do. This virus looks promising, if I can just - ."
The large airlock at the entrance opens. Khorag tilts his head. "What a rare guest!" And even rarer in full armour and helmet. But the athmosphere, stimulating for Khorag, is unpleasant at best, even deadly in normal circumstances, for the rest of the Consortium.
Khorag puts his fist to his chest: "Chief Apothecary. What can I do for you?"
Fabius walks towards Khorag's workbench, glances at the readouts on the screens hanging in rusty frames above it, nods. His expression unreadable under the baroque, ancient helmet in well-worn amethyst. He hands the Plague Marine a dataslate. "I don't talk about my colleagues and their areas of expertise."
Khorag reaches for the pad, his touch leaves grey-brown traces. He wants to ask something, but Fabius is already on his way out. Turns around once more at the entrance. "You've made good progress. We'll talk about the new mutation Agape-Xi-3 tonight." "Gladly, Chief Apothecary."
Khorag sinks heavily onto one of the reinforced stools, reads the brief message. Sighs again. Looks at Paz'uz, who puts his head on his knee. Caustic slime drips to the floor. "We've become a cabinet of horrors, haven't we, my friend?" Paz'uz stares at him.
Khorag taps the record button on the pad. "Sent by Khorag Sinj, Apothecary of the Death Guard on behalf of Fabius, Chief Apothecary of the Emperor's Children.
I am the last Apothecary of the Death Guard, as the gift of Nurgle protects us from anything that harms us. Every change in the body is done according to his will and only makes us more effective. Therefore, my services to my brothers are no longer needed. The rate of fusion with the Armour is almost 100% for the Fourteenth - much, much higher than other Legions - with the possible exception of the Thousand Sons for obvious reasons. The armour has become an exoskeleton for us and we feel with it in a certain way as with bare skin. From that point of view, removal is neither necessary nor advisable. Should I ever feel the need to subject myself or one of my brethren to surgery, I will treat the armour the same way I do the horn plates that some Possessed of the Word Bearers have." He pauses for a moment, looks around his lab. Takes in the browns and greens. The stalagtites of rust on the railings. "Others speak of contamination. For us, it's passing on the gift. We spread what nature gives of its own accord. It is a philosophical question how far we go with it. Where we draw boundaries. I understand that my colleagues from the Third and from other legions who worship other gods - or in the case of the Chief Apothecary are their own little gods - draw boundaries. I have no problem separating religion and medical practice. I keep a low profile."
A few moments of silence again, broken by the buzzing of rotflies in one of the corners.
"And Nurglings? No, unfortunately not at the moment. I know Saqqara has some, though he downplays that fact somewhat, believing for some reason that it would offend me. But at the moment, no shard of Grandfather has pierced the veil. Except, of course, Paz'uz.
I hope you are more enlightened now. And as medical advice, you seem to have had too much caffeine, I gather from the amount of punctuation. You should have a nice lie-down. Yours sincerely, Khorag Sinj. Dictatum Finis."
He sighs. "Nurglings … Hmm? A little company wouldn't be bad sometimes. It's too quiet here."

Raoul, this is my gift for Valentine's Day to you. *Hands him two little boxes: in the first is an engagement ring, in the second... another engagement ring.*
That one's for Christine, if you needed a little nudge to make your move.
Tumblr media
"Oh my-! This is far too much- you are ever so kind..." Raoul's mouth was agape as he opened the boxes to reveal the extravagant rings inside. The minute details were modelled after the treasures of the sea. Dainty seashells dotted around the perimeter of the rings, and in the center was a shining diamond.
Exactly what he would have wanted to buy for her.
"How many francs did you spend?! Normally for Valentine's day one spends on their lover or loved ones... and to spend it on us? My dear friend I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Although I wanted to buy it for Christine myself... out of modesty I must reject this gift..."
Although upon further pressuring he would be forced to accept them.
"Oh alright alright! You put so much thoughtfulness into this gift... how could I ever repay you? If our wedding day is to come, my companion you will be our ring-bearer. Or perhaps a best man or a bridesmaid... whatever you may like. And I promise, I will repay my debts to you even if I am a penniless man now." He gave a warm smile of gratitude, it felt like his heart was swelling 10 times larger at the kind gesture.
"Although I must tell you the truth. I am... not sure if Christine is to marry me. She wanted to wait, and I would wait forever for her if need be. If one day she exclaims 'I wish to not marry!' Then I would be fine with that as well. As long as I am by her side, that is all I could ever want... but I will be sure to let her know of this magnificent gift you have given us." He was now living a humble life with Christine. Their small residence was nearly empty, but it was full of their love. They had no need for earthly possessions if they had each other's company.
"Happy Saint Valentine's Day my good friend! May you receive many gifts as well and everlasting good fortune for your kindness. Ah... how I wish I could give you something in turn!"

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG
A journey through culture, love and global conflicts
We hope you enjoy the content we’ve prepared. In this blog, we’ll explore topics like folk tales, types of love, political conflicts in Asia, and more. Each entry invites you to reflect and discover new perspectives on these global and personal issues.
Popular Tales "Mariangela Blanco"
“King Midas” (Greece): Midas receives the power to turn everything he touches into gold, but soon discovers that this “gift” is a curse. The legend reflects on greed and the consequences of desires without considering their effects.
Tumblr media
The legend of King Midas reflects various values and significant moral lessons for ancient Greek society, which remain relevant today. In the story, Midas’s desire to turn everything into gold symbolizes greed and the lack of satisfaction with what one has. When he finally gains this power, he discovers that he cannot enjoy essential things like food or the company of loved ones, as everything he touches turns into gold, leading to his suffering.
The main moral is a warning about the dangers of greed and the value of appreciating what one has instead of seeking endless riches. In Greek society, this myth served as a reminder that selfish desires can have negative consequences not only for oneself but also for those around us. It also reinforces the importance of moderation and self-control (central values in Greek ethics), emphasizing that true wealth does not lie in material possessions but in the ability to enjoy a balanced life in harmony with others.
meaning in that culture
For the Greeks, the primary meaning of the legend of King Midas is that greed and excessive desires lead to misfortune. Through this story, they taught that true wealth lies not in accumulating material goods but in living with moderation, valuing the essentials (such as family and health), and being prudent in desires. The legend is a warning about the risks of greed and an invitation to seek happiness in simplicity and in the harmony of a balanced life.

The Legend of the Hummingbird
The Legend of the Hummingbird is a story from the indigenous peoples of the Americas, especially among Mesoamerican peoples such as the Maya. According to the legend, the gods created all creatures, and upon finishing, they noticed someone was missing to carry people’s thoughts and desires from one place to another, so they created the hummingbird.
Tumblr media
meaning in that culture
In the story, the hummingbird is considered a sacred messenger. According to the legend, if you see a hummingbird, it is because someone is sending you good wishes or positive thoughts. This small bird represents the connection between humans and the spiritual world, reminding us that we are united by our thoughts and desires.
The legend of the hummingbird highlights the importance of good wishes and spiritual connection in daily life. In many indigenous cultures, this bird teaches us to value positive thoughts and harmony with nature. It also reflects respect for animals as bearers of spiritual messages, promoting the idea that each being has a purpose and that our intentions affect the world around us.
Three Kinds of Love "Jose Cuello"
Tumblr media
• Agape: This is selfless and unconditional love, characterized by giving and compassion towards others without expecting anything in return. This type of love is generous and altruistic, focused on the well-being of others.
Tumblr media
• Eros: This is romantic and passionate love, based on physical and emotional attraction between people. It represents desire and intimate connection, focusing on pleasure and union.
Tumblr media
• Philia: This is brotherly or deep friendship love. It is characterized by loyalty, respect, and mutual affection. This love strengthens bonds of friendship and community, based on reciprocity and emotional support.
Tumblr media
religious or cultural examples of each type
Agape: In Christianity, agape love is exemplified in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity, an act of pure and selfless love. In other traditions, such as Buddhism, unconditional compassion towards all beings is also promoted.
Eros: In Greek mythology, Eros is personified as the god of love and desire. This love is celebrated in festivals of love or traditions such as Valentine’s Day, where romantic connection is honored.
Philia: In ancient Greece, love between friends and comrades was highly valued. In today’s culture, fraternal love is expressed in celebrations such as International Friendship Day, which highlights the importance of friendship and mutual support.
The three types of love are still essential today. Agape is vital in family relationships and communities, especially in volunteering and solidarity work. Eros plays an important role in relationships and the development of intimacy and commitment. Philia, or fraternal love, is essential for maintaining friendships and building strong and supportive communities. Together, these types of love contribute to emotional and social well-being, helping people feel connected and supported in different aspects of life.
Political Conflicts "Luisa olivo- Mateo Guerra"
The Conflict on the Korean Peninsula (North Korea and South Korea)
Tumblr media
The Conflict on the Korean Peninsula
Historical Background: The Korean conflict began after World War II when Korea was divided into two occupation zones: the Soviet zone in the north and the American zone in the south. This led to the creation of two different states in 1948: the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). The Korean War (1950-1953) consolidated this division, which still exists today, with an armistice that did not result in a peace treaty.
Current Situation: North Korea remains a communist regime under the leadership of Kim Jong-un, while South Korea is a capitalist democracy allied with the United States. The conflict remains one of the biggest tensions in Asia, with frequent military skirmishes at the border and issues related to nuclear weapons development in the north. Although there have been diplomatic summits, peace still seems distant.
The Civil War in Syria
Tumblr media
Historical Background: The conflict began in 2011 as part of the Arab Spring, when protests against the government of Bashar al-Assad turned into a civil war. Various groups faced each other, including moderate rebels, Islamist extremists, and Assad’s government forces. International intervention has been crucial, with Russia supporting Assad, the United States supporting the rebels, and Turkey and other regional actors involved in various ways.
Current Situation: The war is ongoing, although Assad’s government has expanded its territorial control in recent years. Despite numerous international interventions and ceasefire agreements, the conflict has left millions dead and displaced and plunged Syria into a humanitarian crisis.
the impact on international relations
The conflict between North and South Korea has had a significant impact on international relations, particularly with both countries' allies, such as the United States and China. North Korea has defied the international community with its nuclear tests, prompting international sanctions. This conflict also involves China, which supports the North Korean regime, and Japan, which is concerned about regional security. The situation has influenced diplomatic and security relations between global powers, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
The war in Syria has had a major impact on international relations, especially in the Middle East. The intervention of foreign powers such as the United States, Russia, Iran and Türkiye has exacerbated the conflict, creating complex alliances and disputes over control of territory and resources. Furthermore, the conflict has generated a refugee crisis that has affected Europe and other regions, creating political and social tensions. Relations between the great powers have been strained due to their opposing positions, especially regarding the future of Bashar al-Assad and Iran's role in the region.

Getting Together: "Lauren Manjarres. Hernando Castro"
The theme of relationships and meetings refers to how the words we use in our social interactions affect the way we understand and connect with others. Language not only conveys information but also intentions, emotions, and attitudes. In many cases, confusing similar terms can create misunderstandings and alter the tone or seriousness of a conversation. Precision in language use is essential to establish clear expectations, strengthen relationships, and avoid confusion in both personal and professional contexts.
Tumblr media
Example
Trust vs. Security • Trust refers to belief in the reliability or character of a person or thing. • Security refers to the feeling of being free from physical or emotional danger or threats
Agreement vs. Commitment • Agreement is a mutual understanding or a formal contract. • Commitment involves an obligation or responsibility that a person takes on for the long term.
Trust vs. Loyalty • Trust: The belief in someone’s honesty, reliability, or integrity. • Loyalty: Devotion or faithfulness to a person, group, or cause.
Tumblr media
Short Scenarios with These Words
1. Trust vs. Security • Marta: “I’m not sure I can trust him with this project, but I know he’s a very secure person.” • Juan: “I understand, but trust is based on how someone behaves in difficult situations, not just on their security.”
2. Agreement vs. Commitment • Ana: “We signed an agreement with the client; everything is set.” • Roberto: “Yes, but let’s not forget that a real commitment is much more than a signed agreement. It involves fulfilling what we promised.”
3. Trust vs. Loyalty • Ana: “I trust that Marta will help me with this project because I know she always keeps her word.” • Luis: “That’s trust. But what if Marta betrays you and makes decisions that harm you? That’s where loyalty comes in.”
Language has a profound impact on our social interactions, as the words we choose can alter the tone and perception of a conversation. Confusion between terms like “meet” and “encounter” can affect the expectation of a meeting, whether casual or formal. Similarly, mixing “trust” and “security” can lead to misunderstandings about the nature of a relationship. Using words like “appointment” or “meeting” marks a key difference in the context and formality of the interaction. Finally, understanding the difference between “agreement” and “commitment” can be crucial in building lasting and responsible relationships. Therefore, language not only facilitates communication but also reflects and shapes social and emotional dynamics among people.

Worthy Brief - October 17, 2024
Fill your lamps!
John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life."
Matthew 25:1-10 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
During the feast of Tabernacles in Yeshua's (Jesus') day, the temple priests would set up four great lampstands with golden lampholders, which they would light with the aid of enormous ladders in the Temple courtyard. The lighting of these lamps began the celebration of the "Great Hosannah" (Hoshannah Rabbah, in Hebrew). The celebration went on in to the wee hours -- with music and dancing and rejoicing, while the beautiful lights lit up the night. Jerusalem was a breathtaking, illuminated city on a hill.
The following morning the Jewish people would recite the prayer for the eighth day of the feast -- "Be thou praised, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who makest light and causes darkness, who makest peace and createst all: the light of the world as the treasure of life…" Yeshua said, "I am the Light of the world.".
God is Light, He loves light, He creates light, He sheds light, He desires light. Lamps with oil produce light, both for those who carry them and for those who see the light bearers. "You are the light of the world", He said. So the Lord also expects light from and His people. The light of God in our lives comes from His Holy Spirit, and oil has always been associated with the Spirit's ministry in the lives of believers. Burning oil produces light. If we are spiritual "virgins"because we are betrothed to one Heavenly Husband, we ought to bear His light in this dark world. Yet He has told us that some virgins will not have the wisdom to do it, so it is a warning to us; a warning not to quench the Spirit, but be filled with Him and be the light of the world.
Pete, some of us, though virgins, have been walking in darkness. This could change. The choice to light our lamps belongs to us. The gift of the Holy Spirit has been given to all true virgins. The wise among us will "buy oil" and maintain our lamps thoroughly filled. To "buy oil" means to "spend time" with the One who supplies it, asking Him to fill us up, and to clean out the impurities in our "lamps". You know what this means for you personally, and I know what it means for me. We ought to think about the joy of the wedding, and prepare our hearts with His light… illuminated beautifully for all the world to see, and to be ready! At midnight, when the Bridegroom suddenly appears, our joy will be unspeakable.
Chag Sameach (Happy holidays), Shabbat Shalom, and have a great weekend!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Obadiah and Elianna (Bradenton, Florida)

Rebloging with the artwork I did of Prince Caelum Sonon, Lisa’s best friend and love interest!
The Agapéd Bearer by Hannah Lindsey
Do you ever read a book, or a book series, that has your gripped from the moment you first open the book? That was me when reading The Agapéd Bearer by Hannah Lindsey.
This book contained so many scenes that had me giggling, smiling, and even crying. The emotion written into the story of Lisa Robbie, a thirteen-year-old girl from Earth is extraordinarily well done and I couldn't put the books down, needing to know what happened next as Lisa fought Dark creatures and villains alike.
The first three books {Wishing Stars, Paragon Games, and Hunter Wars} are all amazing books, with interesting characters and adventures, each story unique.
I loved each and every story, and I especially loved the relationships that Lisa developed with her mentors - especially Gaius - and the prince, Caelum.
Lisa's journey of being gifted magic and trained on magical planets is one I am excited to continue reading about as the book series progresses.
Hannah Lindsey, the author of the series is also an illustrator, so I recommend checking out her Instagram {@hmnnah.art} where she posts illustrations for her books.

“Oh, how superior is the Eye of Horus to the Mouth of Isis!” — Aleister Crowley Aeon of Horus Talon Abraxas

The computer room was absolutely destroyed.
The computer itself now lay in ruins, the table that housed it in splinters. Smoldering gouges were painted across the walls and cieling like an abstract art project, with a noticeable gap in damage behind where Maple now stands, scuffed, bruised and covered in soot, swaying slightly, yet still opting to ask about everyone else rather than themselves...
"Maple!!!" Aspen runs to their friend's side, ears flicking in worry. A hand is placed on the dragon's arm. "I know I told Cedar that reckless was your middle name earlier, but there's no need to prove me right!"
The digital face grazing the screen on the wall blinks a few times, mouth agape in shock.
[[ //: I AM... NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY! I DID NOT EXPECT ONE OF THE BRANDED TO BE SO... CHIVALROUS! ]]
A scaled hand is plopped onto Aspen's head between their antlers as a fanged grin spreads across Maple's face. They turn to look at their friend and the now seemingly regretful and awestruck AI.
"Someone had to do somethin', and it's not like Computers Sam over here is capable of leaving the room," the dragon jokes, leaving the AI confused, and the deer bemused.
"...Well, it was thoughtful of you regardless," Aspen remarks fondly.
[[ //: I SUPPOSE IT IS ]] Sammy agrees, reluctantly, before breaking into a sinister grin. [[ //: THOUGH NOT HALF AS THOUGHTFUL AS VALIANTLY SOBBING AT THE SIGHT OF A BUG~ ]]
"CAN IT, BINARY BRAIN!!" Maple erupts. "I coulda just let ya burn, y'know!"
Aspen snickers at the pair's bickering, but ultimately opts to snag the dragon's jacket sleeve, pulling their friend toward the door.
"Alllll right, hothead. I think it's time we went back to the surface," they coax, looking back toward their newly pacified AI friend.
[[ //: OH! IF YOU'RE HEADING TO THE SURFACE, THIS BUILDING HAS A WAY UP WITHOUT ALL OF THE WINDING CORRIDORS! ]]
The friends pause at this revelation.
[[ //: IF YOU HEAD THROUGH THE DOOR TO MY RIGHT, YOU'LL FIND YOUR WAY UP AT THE END OF THE HALL! ]]
"Personally, I like that plan," Maple mentions to Aspen. The tip of their tail flicks a bit. "Wanna do it?"
Aspen ponders it. This could be the start to mapping out every undercity entrance in Eclipse City... there'd be a place to explore for any spot around, and mapping the undercity would be cake!
"...You know what? I think I like that plan too," the deer grins. "Let's do it!"
Tumblr media
They did not like that plan.
The minute the pair had reached their destination, they craned their necks to find that the "way up" Sammy had mentioned was in fact, an immense, poorly lit stairwell going up as far as the eye could see.
At first, Maple had been eager to make the climb, even offering to piggyback Aspen the entire way, but in practice...
"Ugh... how much fuckin further is it??" the dragon laments, stopping at the top of this last set of stairs. A scaled hand props the Brand-bearer up on their knee, the other hand shakily gripping the rail.
Aspen, who had long since been dropped off of Maple's back, flops onto their stomach next to them, looking more like a puddle of melted ice cream than a deer.
"...I think we're like..." the gardener gasps for air. "...two-thirds of the way up..."
"...Guhhh... we're so fuuuuuuuucked...!" Maple sputters in despair.
It would seem they still have a long way to go.
Tumblr media
The next target is in sight.
A spindly woman in a low-cut shirt and skinny jeans was smoking a cigarette, a large duffel bag hanging from her fingertips, half-unzipped. She leans against the brick wall behind her, her sunglasses lowering down her nose as Cedar approaches.
"Ah, mon ami, I heard I might be getting a visitor from out of town~" she purrs, gripping her back tighter. She pushes back off of the wall and motions to the back alley next to her.
"Step into mon bureau, and I will provide everything you need~"
Cedar's eyes narrow. They were being... expected. Beckoned into an alleyway. And while those were good as ambush locations, it worked both ways...
"Hm," they grunt, slipping their hands from their pockets. The dragon opts to follow the poison pusher cautiously, keeping all of their senses primed.
A thin smile spreads across the woman's face as she leads the Moon-bearer into the confined alleyway. A tune dribbles from her throat as she swings the bag back-and-forth. Back-and-forth. She stops, halfway between Cedar and the brick wall at the far end of the alley.
The dragon's fur stood on end. They couldn't hear much over the woman's humming, but... On the air, came a tiad of unsettling scents.
Metal.
Plasma...
Gunpowder.
A rod of silvered lightning erupts from the ether along with the wings sprouting from their back. The feathery appendages flapped forward, sending the suspended bolt of electricity surging forward, piercing and vaporizing the bag.
As the nylon burns and melts, the shattering of glass rings out, with shards and shrapnel bursting its acrid contents outward, cutting ribbons of crimson from the beast-dragon's prey.
But even as they inflict first blood, it becomes clear that the woman came prepared.
Out of the scraps of withering duffel bag came a massive hunk of metal... a massive, over the shoulder plasma cannon.
She grasps hold of the weapon, slinging it over her shoulder and taking aim as a high-pitched whine builds, yellow-purple energy coalescing within the barrel.
Silver eyes widen.
She pulls the trigger.
Cedar is hit by a white-hot beam of plasma, sending them hurtling out into the street behind them. They roll, catch their footing, and skid to a stop, fangs bared with a snarl.
They cross their arms over their chest, daggers summoned to hand in a flash of silver. The woman steps out of the shadowy corridor, smile widening to a maniacal grimace of a grin.
"Why, mon charmant, you wound me with such hostile eyes~!" she taunts, lifting the weapon for another shot.
Ozone fills the air as Cedar prepares for the next attack. They crouch low, static building around them. With such a slow weapon, it should be easy enough for them to blink out of the--
CRACK!!
Searing pain cuts a red line over the top of their shoulder.
Ah. So that's what smelled like gunpowder.
The plasma cannon fires once more, Cedar's momentary lapse of concentration providing an opening for plasma to once more engulf the Brand-bearer.
They're thrown back once more, this time generating several rods of lightning, launching them toward the initial assailant with their wings. She leaps from their path and takes aim once more.
The sniper opens fire again, with three shots this time. Cedar blinks deftly around each once, and for their effort are rewarded with a peek at the coward: A gaunt, sniveling mess of a calico cat, silver eyes meeting his. He ducks down below the first story window he was firing from.
It's too late.
They've seen him.
His attempt at hiding has earned a hand reaching in, snagging him by the shirt, yanking him from the safety of his sniper's nest. No sooner than his abrupt arrival outdoors is he struck with Cedar's powerful tail, which launches the unfortunate sniper into plasma fire from his accomplice, launching him backward into the Brand-bearer's daggers.
Tearing the weapons from their second victim, Cedar rushes forward, and with a flap of their wings, is sent skyward, safely out of the path of yet another blast.
Celestial silver jams into the plasma cannon as the dragon somersaults overtop of the woman, dragging the weapon through her trump card like a hot knife through butter.
The cannon rendered useless, Cedar lands behind their next victim, lunging forward at blinding speeds. Their blades are plunged into hers - her shoulder blades, that is - and yanked down.
The woman's scream echoes through the empty street, and her wounded compatriot, unable to speak, watches as they swivel around, sweep the woman off her feet with their tail, and send her slamming into the ground with an electrically charged elbow to her chest.
As she hits the ground, unconcious, Cedar meets the sniper's gaze once more. He was completely unable to move his own arms... he couldn't lift his gun to save his life. Instead, he lay there, paralyzed, as the beast made their way over.
One.
Agonizing.
Step.
At a time.
Finally, they're standing over him. Their silhouette against the neon lights was akin to that of a beast. An avenging monster, here to claim the lives of him and his wicked ilk. At least... that's what it felt like to him, in this moment, to look up into their piercing silver gaze.
"When you inevitably see Madd Dogg again... tell him his days are numbered."
The last thing the feline sees is the bottom of Cedar's sneakers.
Tumblr media
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Maple and Aspen make it to the top of the stairs. Heaving and very unwell, the pair lean on the door they had finally, desperately, managed to reach.
"If I... ever see a flight of stairs... again..." Aspen gasps. "...I think imma... throw up."
"...Grrerugh..." Maple wretches, placing a hand over their eyes. "...I crave... death so much... that life is but a memory..."
And there the pair stay, blissfully unaware of the carnage occurring just down the block and around the corner from where they would emerge... catching their breath for a time until they feel they can at least move their legs.
Their treks home were going to be absolute hell.

Eros 2 Storge 3 Agape 1, 3, Pragma 5
I am assuming this is for Maeve? Since she was the person I reblogged that for. But I have answered a lot of those for Myrah if she is who you mean. Look in the asks game tag or fcc asks tag for that
Eros
2. How important is sex to them in a relationship? Do they see it as something essential to their happiness? Would they be able to remain in a monogamous relationship with someone they loved without sex?
oouu sex is an interesting thing for Maeve, and in turn for Aegon. She is a maiden when they get married but I don’t think sex is something she’s scared/worried about (hence her giggling over the tapestries in part 3). sex would become more complicated once she starts to synonymize it with Aegon, as well as child bearer. It is very easy for Aegon to compartmentalize sex in a way Maeve can’t. She doesn’t think it is essential to happiness but if her husband, who has made it clear he enjoys sex, doesn’t do it with her… eh it raises red flags. Rightly or wrongly
Storge
3. How far does parental approval (imagined or expressed) impact upon their current sense of self-worth? What might they sacrifice or attempt to achieve in order to ensure the approval of their parents?
She definitely craves her parents be proud of her. It is something her and Aegon have in common. She has a pretty idealize view of her parents in her head, partly for good reason. I do think some of that gets blurred once she finds herself in a situation she would not choose for herself. But she is willing to do a lot for their approval and safety.
Agape
1. Does your OC wish to make the world a better place? How far do they see that as being their responsibility? What lengths would they go to in order to help achieve this?
This is gonna sound so bad but I don’t think she thinks about it till she’s forced to. We will get to this but otto, ever the plotter, wants the family to look good. Especially while Rhaenyra is away at dragonstone doing god knows what. They essentially take up causes. She doesn’t want people to suffer obvi but it is isn’t something she takes seriously/see as a responsibility till it quite literally is as queen
3. To what extent does your OC believe in the value (or even existence) of true altruism? Do they see an unselfish concern for the welfare of others as being naïve or foolish? Or as a moral quality to which people should aspire?
I think she sees saving the lives of few for many as more noble than taking a chance to save everyone. Her and otto lowkey agree with that, especially with the arc she goes on. While someone like Alicent (in show at least) would advocate for no deaths if possible. Maeve sees that as a bit foolish. She may elevate other’s welfare (her family - namely her kids, Aegon and his family, smallfolk) but she is not absolved of falling into the same trappings most noble people do. She is out for herself and her people, and sometimes that can come at the cost of those ‘lower’ than her
Pragma
5. What importance or value does your OC attach to marriage? Do they believe that it is important to make a public statement of commitment to another person (or persons)? Or are they more concerned about inheritance rights and security for their family? Or do they not see marriage as a necessary signifier of commitment and loyalty?
She attaches probably the same amount of importance as most highborn woman would. She knows it is expected of her and knows matches are advantageous in nature. She is hyper aware about the security of her family - and the family she starts with Aegon - because people around her are dropping like flies. If this is gonna be lot in life, she wants what she is own (being queen and her sons being kings etc)

"Got it." There's one last moment spared in the room, but arguably a crucial one—with flicks of his wrist, Vash ejects the magazines of the slumber party's firearms to slide underneath furniture. Even if they all did come to their senses, they'd all have to make a choice: scramble around to retrieve their ammo, or leave potential evidence behind in favor of fleeing.
"(Hiya, Louis! Yeahyeahyeah, nooo hard feelings! Nice meetin' ya. You take care, now)," Vash says as he waves off the frazzled man. The pacifist's friendly dismissal is as polite as ever, disconnected from the pressures of the situation. The nod is returned, and the Plant finds himself wishing the man a safe retreat. Then Wolfwood speaks up.
The Stampede's face plainly shows his curiosities, with brows raised and mouth slightly agape, his verbal response subsequently delayed. He's been thinking over the cross-bearer's words from an earlier time: I decided somewhere along the line that I cared about ya.
And he's made good on that claim, over and over, ever since. When the undertaker had said that, did he mean...?
Amidst approaching sirens and shouts, Vash's expression softens into a smile. He chuckles, light and warm.
Tumblr media
"Look at you, takin' charge. Lead on. I'm with you."
They've never been the most inconspicuous duo. This time around, at least, it isn't allergy season!
As the two move together (instinctively sprinting here, pausing to wait in hiding there, and so on), Vash's head is on a constant swivel, mindful enough to rest his finger against the side of Peace Bringer's trigger guard, barrel aimed toward the ground. Being by Nicholas' side restores a certain kind of confidence in him. Vash feels lighter, like he's able to let go of more and more fear with every step.
Vash's words were way too pointed to be about the sniper, but still, they work as an effective distraction for him to come in and knock out the sniper safely, unclipping the rifles strap before it hurts them with the weight of their fall, pulling the bolt back and emptying the gun before tossing it on the ground.
It's automatic, as they both disarm the sniper, working almost in unison before he looks up. "Yeah. Our friend told me 'bout those two," he points to the one who'd been knocked out as he arrived.
Vash reloads Peace Bringer, with Nicholas himself being unarmed. However, that was purposeful - as he moves to speak, sirens sound in the distance. "Best if we do. But first we gotta go pick up Louis."
--
On a time limit, he takes the more precarious route back to where he had hidden Louis - luckily easy with his own strength returned. That, and Vash could cover him as he lead the way back. Shoving a crate aside, he opens the door with a shove of his shoulders, knocking over whatever furniture had been used to keep it closed.
Making his way into the seemingly abandoned building, he opens a closet door and...There's the missing Punisher, and their new friend - the original gunman that Vash had disarmed, hiding behind it.
"Shit! I heard the sirens and was worried you weren't comin' back-"
"Yeah, yeah, come on, we're all on a fuckin' schedule now." He lifts the Punisher, allowing Louis to get out of the closet, who then looked at the Humanoid Typhoon with wide eyes. "Oh, fuck, you're-"
"He's the guy who coulda shot yer ass an' didn't."
"R-right...." A 'thanks' was muttered as he shied away, looking between the pair with wide eyes. "S-so we...uh- Are ya gonna-"
Wolfwood produces a slip of paper, shoving it at Louis. "Get outta here. Go to that address, talk to the black haired woman there. Give her intel an' she'll take care of ya."
Louis nods, swallowing as the sirens get closer. Looking at the two again, he nods again, more firmly, before taking off out the door.
Nicholas turns back to Vash, with their own timer running out. Not runnin' from the end of the world or to some kinda grave - just a sprint through the ward to avoid authorities.
And maybe whoever Louis was giving intel on.

I’m having Many Thoughts about Shugo Chara and want to explain how its idea of bridging people together is best presented through Amu and Ikuto.
What I’m talking about is mentioned at the end of the story, and it’s hinted that the Humpty Lock and Dumpty Key represent the ability to create connections by unlocking people’s hearts. Since their owners throughout the story are Amu and Ikuto, they are the two that convey this message best.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disclaimer: This idea may be obvious to some but I really love their relationship and I wanted to expand on why it’s so special and important. And away we go~
First of all, let me explain why Amu and Ikuto’s relationship is so interesting. They start the story off on two different sides. Ikuto is Amu’s enemy as she is fighting for the protection of people’s dreams, and Ikuto is destroying them (though not by choice). However, they are able to come together and develop a bond that is incredibly unique to the both of them. Amu is able to open up so easily to Ikuto, and Ikuto is able to feel comforted and accepted by Amu. Amu doesn’t have the opportunity to open up about her outer character to anyone else except her guardian character’s, and even then we don’t see her talk about the tribulations she experiences with it to them that much. Ikuto is isolated from his family and seemingly peers his own age, so he really doesn’t have anyone to turn to about any weaknesses he has. Both character’s see each other’s vulnerabilities and multiple sides of their personalities, despite the fact that they are on different sides.
And so the Dumpty Key and Humpty Lock’s purpose is fulfilled. Two people regardless of their places in life, are able to form a connection through opening up that can comfort one another.
Now, Amu and Ikuto’s relationship has romantic inclinations, but I don’t think that romantic bonds are all that is shown to be important as there is a great importance placed on friendship and familial connections in the series. Friendship is shown through the Guardians, and with family, it’s shown through Ikuto, Utau, and Tadase. Bonds between bearer and guardian character also have a great deal of importance placed upon them, but I’ll pick up on that soon.
Romantic love has a particular emphasis in the series as the characters involved in the scene of conveying the information are in a love triangle of sorts. In the end, Souko and Aruto get married, and at the very end of the manga, a new couple wed, Yuu and Yukari. And Amulet Fortune, Amu’s “ultimate” character transformation that occurs after she opens her heart to Ikuto, is a bride.
Not only that, but the Humpty Lock (the Four Leaves), when they come together, they are a sign of True Love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Amu and Ikuto open their hearts to each other, a transformation of the self occurs. Amu’s would-be-selves are able to meld into one and change her into someone that is capable of healing others emotions on a mass scale, while Ikuto’s selves are able to help him become someone who he looks to the future with.
I believe this is a metaphor for how people can help you grow to be a better person. I don’t think you need someone else to make you complete (we are already complete), but by having that special someone along with you and by your side, you can grow together and feel fulfilled with them. Connections, or your partner, can challenge you and aid you, and allow you to achieve a higher sense of self; which is what Amulet Fortune and Seven Seas Treasure represent.
Amulet Fortune is not only a being of romantic love, but also self-love and even unconditional love, or otherwise, agape in Greek. She represents self-love (which can be referred to as philautia) because her would-be-selves are united as she accepts all parts of herself. Amu showed all sides of herself to Ikuto, including expressing her frustrations over her outer character, and due to her having an incredibly strong connection with her chara’s, she becomes Amulet Fortune. Lastly, agape, which is often referred to as what gods have for their people, is shown through Fortune when Amu heals those who have suffered from the sadness of the giant X-Chara with Open Heart: Full Bloom. It’s a powerful move that Amu uses to not only heal the X-Eggs, but also to heal the entire town. And opening up to Ikuto is what allowed her to reach this ability and heal many people.
To further prove my point on why she doesn’t just represent romantic love, ai 愛 in shinjitsu no ai doesn’t solely mean romantic feelings, instead it points towards a more general feeling of love, that can extend to herself, the people in the town, her friends, and family.
Moving on, Seven Seas Treasure melds two component’s of Ikuto together; his traumatic past, and what he yearns for in the present. Yoru represents his desire to be free, as does Black Lynx, but the black egg and Death Rebel, which is a manifestation of his own despair through his father, represents Ikuto’s repressed feelings of being trapped and burdened after Aruto left. However, because of Amu, Ikuto is able to join these two together in harmony and achieve clarity. As SST, he is able to travel freely across the ocean, and also search for what has been missing in a large part of his life. So, Death Rebel is his past, Black Lynx is his present, and Seven Seas is his future. This could also be a form of self-love as Ikuto makes peace with the many factors that have shaped him in his life.
Because Amu fully understood Ikuto and his past, as well as his present, she opened up to him, effectively creating that intense connection, opening both of their hearts to each other. She was then able to heal others as they became their awakened selves and achieved self-acceptance. Ikuto achieved his which is why he decided to search for Aruto, especially after realising that the black egg feels nostalgic.
In other words, Amuto canon.
