Im honestly convinced that reading yttd ch3 all at once is an inherently different experience than playing 3a and waiting months to play 3b. like as someone that waited until all of 3-1 was out to play it, I didn’t feel any of the pacing or ‘twist’ issues that people complain about. it’s definitely not perfect but I think people need to realize that theorizing every about moment of an unfinished part for months on end is gonna make you have different expectations

#overhyping it in your head basically #its meant to be played all at once. just bc you thought for example that ranmaru was a certain way in 3a doesnt mean that you have the full #picture yet. like him snapping didnt feel weird when i played it bc his character was still being built in my head #rather than one image being solidified in your head for months and then encounters a change #thats why i put twist in quotes up there. it doesnt feel like a twist bc you can feel it building up #youre shocked that hes actually doing it. but its not a twist #another thing i dont like is everyone saying midoris death was paced badly. no it wasnt #again just bc youve hyped him up in your head doesnt mean that its like that in the game #ive talked about this with my friend who also recently played all of ch3 and we agreed. the pacing is fine #i actually like the way he just dies. i think its paced well and gives a good final end to someone youve been trying to kill #it feels satisfying if you play all of it at once. especially after the buildup of emotions you have during that whole scene #especially right before. with the keiji gin thing. i sat there shaking for five minutes prepping myself to kill keiji #and then to take all of those emotions and slam them down on midori and give him the killing blow. it feels great #youve been sitting there for over 6 hours at that point for just this chapter alone. four times as long if you replay it all at once #all the buildup is good. you guys just split it up. and thats exactly why i waited an extra year to play ch3 #anyways ! glad nan is putting out the full chapter next time #take 2 years if you want king. idc i'll wait
