Find The Word Tag

I got tagged by @sm-writes-chaos, so it's time to go a-spelunking in The Clockwork Boy.

The words I'm looking for are: Guess, Hate, Soon, and Find

Guess

13 giggled, it was a melodious kind of thing. “The blame isn’t entirely on you. Mina told me that it’s a bit of a tradition to get new colleagues who do drink absolutely wasted on their first aftermeeting.” “Aftermeeting?” Jake asked “Yeah, it’s a bit of a party they do after every meeting. It’s apparently doing wonders for attendance. Anyway, it started as an attempt to weed out spies or informants or what have you, but I guess they decided it was fun?”

Hate (I could only find a compound word here but I count those)

The crossing of the first half of the alley went off without a hitch, no calling for reinforcement, no hateful burning torches, no repeater crossbows. The half of what remained also continued to not go wrong, but Jake could already feel the toll.

Soon

The elevator started to decelerate, which meant it was going to stop and open soon. 13 didn’t have the time to think about the whys and hows of it anymore, if One needed a scapegoat she’d get one. A scapegoat on the lam.

Find

The towering man shifted his position, 13 could see the handle of something huge in his right hand, whatever was at the end must be whatever made the scraping noise. 13 did not know what it was, but he had the sinking feeling he’d find out in the worst way.

None of my characters smoke, not for any particular reason, it just never occurred to me. Tobacco does exist in the setting though, so some smokers might come in at a later date.

As for alcohol, Jake does drink on occasion. He isn't particularly picky about what, but he has a slight preference for beers, pilsners if he gets the choice. Supporting characters Delilah and Mina does also drink, mostly in social contexts, and they tend to drink less than Jake, who inevitably tries to cure his tendency to get sad when drunk with more alcohol. Delilah is fan of hoppy beers while Mina prefers local wines if she can get her hands on them. 13 doesn't drink as he doesn't have a digestive system and thus doesn't need to either eat or drink. It is still somewhat of a mystery what sustains him.

The last time the drinkers among my ocs rank a notable amount in the story is in celebration after the meeting where it was decided that Delilah and Mina's workplace, the (literally) underground workshop The Northwest would both employ Jake and 13 as well as offer them sanctuary from the enforcers. As is tradition at The Northwest, a successful meeting without any incident is celebrated by an "Aftermeeting"-party that grows especially raucous on account of the joyous occasion.
