Brainstorming some more stuff for the story with the grape twins and I am very much enjoying reinventing every character in the universe. What if you were a teen parent and didn't realize until the kid you abandoned popped up out of nowhere hanging out with a bunch of supervillains and with a Huge amount of daddy issues. The pains of being an alien and not knowing until you're an adult
#rat rambles#oc posting#for some context!#one of the heros is an alien and the crew started doing their super hero stuff as teens they were the main tech guy#their name is sour belt btw#they were also at the time thought to be the only one without super powers so they were basically the guy in the chair#but that left with with a Lot to manage so they were like y'know what? Im going to make a cool assistant ai like in movies B)#they cross refferenced from some of the tech their dads kept around the house (stuff from the crashed ship the two found them on)#and they found a cool funky data chip looking thing that was capable of storing and transporting extremely complex code#so they used that as their basis without realizing that those were basically like. brains.#and as such they didnt know their new ai assistant was in fact a fully sentient child who was just good at masking their negative emotions#the kid is named starburst btw#but yeah long story short at some point another one of the hero squad (caramel) had a brief supervillain arc and he stole the chip to use#for his own super base and starburst had long since developed a deep desperation for any positive attention so they followed orders#but once the others talked caramel down starburst was left feeling almost betrayed that all of this apparently meant nothing to any of them#so they attempted to follow through with his initial plans anyways leading to the heros destroying the base in order to stop them#after the place collapsed the heros just sorta moved on with their lives deciding not to make an ai like that again#and starburst was left alone in the place for several months until the villain polycule came along as a fun lil mini vacation#they like going to explore random places sometimes and they thought it'd be fun to see what caramel had cooking over here#they did Not expect to find an alone and traumatized child and to say they were angry would be an understatement#they basically adopted them after that and nowadays starburst still likes to hang out with them but also has a life of their own to live#all this stuff took place like over 20 years ago so theyre a full adult now whos mostly chilling#they got rly into music after they were able to have real hobbies so they do that for a living now

Hero and Injured Villain Trapped In a Room Ask.
Hey! Love LOVE your writing! Would you mind writing a snippet where villain and hero get locked in a room together or something along those lines. And villain is injured and hero doesn't know so they fight them until villain suddenly collapses? Did I read this, spend 2 hours writing it and realise I’d sorta done it wrong? Of course I did, but I think I fixed it enough ^^’ Anyway, I hope you like it!
Getting into the manor was so beautifully easy, so painfully simple that really, Villain should have suspected a trap sooner. Though anticipating a tripwire which sent an arrow flying into their shoulder was a bit of a long shot. The arrow, or more of a bolt when Villain was able to see it, had been aimed at their throat, so they considered themselves lucky. That didn’t diminish the pain or the way that Villain choked back on a scream when the arrow slammed into them.
Dragging themselves into a bathroom, Villain decided to take the arrow out. They couldn’t move their arm with it in and that was something they really needed. They’d turned the tap on to try and wash their hands and pull it out. Villain was glad the house was empty. They weren’t proud of how long it took, or the fact they had to bite down on a towel and ease it out with a shaking, slippery hand.
They wanted to vomit, but instead they forced themselves up, cleaned the blood away and wedged a towel under their shirt and on the wound. They hoped that would hold. They couldn’t just back out, not after all this work. They couldn't say no to this amazing chance to rob Civilian.
So they kept going, following the plans until they got to the lounge. A right posh place, with alcohol in crystal bottles and tumblers, a chaise, a piano, everything that screamed rich. Villain loved it. It meant there was more to take, though they could carry far less now. Their arm only had a little more movement, which considering the pain they’d gone through, didn’t feel worth it.
“Where are they?” someone demanded behind them, shutting the door that Villain had left open.
Villain jumped and turned to see Hero, gun in hand. “Well hello to you too. Where’s who? The place is empty.”
Hero took aim. “I heard screaming. Where are they?”
Villain opened their mouth to speak but closed it again. Saying ‘oh, that was me’ didn’t feel like the best move.
“Nothing to worry about. Honestly, there’s no one else here, dead or alive. It’s just us. Speaking of ‘us’, would you mind kindly pissing off? I’m busy and have work to do.”
Villain fearlessly approached the painting on the mantelpiece and started feeling around it with their good hand. It only took a few moments for them to find the little switch, and for the painting to swing off the wall. “Hey!” Hero shouted. “Don’t move or I swear I’ll shoot you!”
“Sure thing, sweetpea. Local shoots unarmed Villain over a necklace- oh I can just see it in the papers tomorrow. It’d paint you in a wonderful light.”
With a yell, Hero ran at them, grabbing them by the arm and yanking them away. Villain cried out but tried to fight back. That wasn’t easy with their new injury, even if it wasn’t so painful. Hero wrestled them to the floor and managed to sit on top of them. Villain wasn’t afraid to fight dirty, but Hero had been in this job long enough to know all of the tricks. They tied Villain’s hands together in front of them with rope Hero had brought with them, and then tied their ankles together.
They propped Villain up against a wall. “I told you to not move.”
“Oh come on,” Villain grimaced. “I don’t have time for this. Will you just let me take it so we can move on with our lives please.”
“No. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have police to contact-”
Hero tried the door. It didn’t budge. Hero frowned, shaking it with two hands. “Crap.”
“Oh wonderful!” Villain shouted. “Well done! No windows, probably no signal- just well done, you fucking idiot!”
Hero sighed and sat down on the chaise. “Oh well, looks like we wait til morning.”
Villain rolled their eyes. “Yeah, you can wait. I really can’t. Let me go so I can figure a way out- for both of us if not just for me.”
Hero shook their head. “Guess we may as well have a nap.”
Villain kept shouting at them to let them go until Hero got up and gagged them. That only made Villain angrier, but they soon settled, leaving Hero to lay down on the chaise.
Unsupervised, it took Villain ten minutes to get out of the bindings. They could have been faster, if it wasn’t for the nauseating feeling of blood-loss creeping up on them Things were starting to get indistinct. The blood had soaked through the towel and Villain’s clothing. How much blood could they lose before they passed out? Died even?
Hero only cracked open an eye because they heard wood creak and saw Villain inching over to the door. They didn’t look like they were trying to be quiet, it was more like they were hobbling.
Hero shot to their feet and stormed over to them, tackling them and pinning them against the wall by their wrists. Villain cried out in pain and crumpled in Hero’s grip. That was when Hero saw the red, oh, there was so much red.
Hero lowered Villain to the ground to inspect the wound. They turned Villain over onto their back and ripped their shirt open to reveal the towel, soaked, but Hero didn’t dare take it off in case it was stopping some of the blood flow. They moved it around ever so slightly, just to see where the wound was and how big it was. It was small, but they couldn’t properly look.
They pushed down on the towel, on the wound and Villain groaned. Hero looked around quickly for something to use. They needed more material. There was a small teatowel by the drinks, probably for a spillage. They snatched it up as well as a blanket that was no doubt for the chaise. Hero used them as best they could, keeping Villain warm with some of the blanket for now, whilst another part of it covered the wound.
The pressure brought Villain back around. They tensed seeing Hero leaning over them, arching their back when they tried to move.
“Told you I had no time,” Villain rasped.
“What happened?” Hero asked. Hero guessed they’d only fainted because of the sudden movement, not because of the blood loss, yet.
“T.trap-”
“When- was that you that I heard screaming?!”
Villain nodded with a wince. “Y.yeah… arrow, I uh… I pulled it out.”
“And you call me an idiot?! Shit, this is bad.”
Villain tried to sit up, but Hero wouldn’t let them. “If you think I’m lying on the floor…. when there’s a bed t.three meters away from me, then you’re sadly mistaken,” Villain croaked. “My. my men should come looking for me soon.”
“Then we make sure you can hold on until then- dammit, why didn't you tell me?”
“Ch.chaise.”
Hero sighed and made Villain press down on their wound until they could scoop them up and lay them down on something a little more comfortable.
“I… I thought you’d use it against me,” Villain admitted. Villain groaned and passed out again before Hero could do anything about it.
“Please hold on,” Hero whispered.

Aeaean Spring Breeze - Ch. 1: Breathe Like it’s Any Other Monday Morning
(Here’s the dreamwidth link for easier reading)
[in My Room]
Circe: Ugh…… For some reason…… Motivation…… Dwindling…... Fou: Fo~u...... Mash: Once again, Circe is slacking off in Master’s bed…… Circe, every time you do this, senpai turns up with “perfect” timing. Circe: It’ll be fiiiiiiiine. This time I’ve set up detection magic, after all~. Mash: I see. But isn’t that a violation of privacy? Circe: Just be cool, be chill. I’m worried about Master, so it can’t be helped.
[you come in]
> No, it can be helped
Circe: Gah!!
*the sound of her falling off the bed* *the sound of her shakily getting up*
Circe: H- Hey, Piglet! How did my detection magic get disabled? …...Medea! This is SO getting old and that girl is getting downright vicious! Always butting in on other peoples’ love lives, this is why I’ll never find a new partner! Fou: Fou, fo~u. (Translation: Like student, like teacher.) Arjuna: ......Circe. We are of different classes and different places of origin, and as such thought it prudent to avoid conflict due to our different values. However— I cannot overlook your actions. Go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve done. Circe: Eugh. Who appointed you head of the disciplinary committee? Arjuna: Disciplinary committee……? Perhaps I am. After all, even Osakabehime said that I was like a “white-uniformed disciplinary committee member or student council president as a second pick” Mash: Yeah! You really do have the good sense of a Japanese student! Fou: Fou, fofo~u......! (Translation: Your good sense is a little off, Mash……!) Arjuna: ......No, this is all beside the point. We confirmed the existence of a Micro-Singularity. Circe: Huh. Mash: ! Arjuna: The Chaldea staff are busy with the investigation and analysis of Lostbelts, so they want Mash to be in charge of monitoring it. Mash: Leave it to me. I’m happy to receive orders straight from the student council president himself! Circe: So, where is this Singularity? Arjuna: Right— It’s at Aeaea Island. Circe: ...... ...... What did you just say?
> Aeaea Island Circe: Guh…… Mrr…… Ugh……
> Isn’t that the island where you lived, Circe?
Circe: ...... ...... ...... ......Yeah, it was.
Arjuna: Then I’ll make this briefing quick. The era seems to be the Age of Gods, if not, somewhere close to it. Circe: Ehhhhh…… About that island…… I only have bad memories of it, so…...
> Was it painful?
Circe: ……I feel like I had a bad dream about that island recently.
> Is that so……?
Circe: Uhm...... Errrr......
Jason: Ha. That’s not a reason, you just wanna skip out. And I wanna skip this mission too! Orion: I- I- I also wanna skip out. I mean, Artemis isn’t even gonna be there. And if she’s not there, I’m useless. Arjuna: Putting Jason aside, Orion…… What happened to that goddess? Orion: It was something weird like a meetup for goddesses in a relationship or something. And thanks to that, I’m free. Arjuna: Then that’s even more reason to take you along. After all, it’ll be easier to keep an eye on you if you’re with us. Orion: Why do I get this kind of treatment!? Jason: Sounds right to me. Georgios: It’ll be good for both of you. Circe, if you don’t want to go, you don’t have to. I will be departing for the front. Jason: What? That’s unusual for you, Georgios.
> I meant to ask Chiron, but—
[flashback]
Chiron: If I go, Jason might be nervous. When he tries to show me how much he’s grown, he ends up making mistakes…… that’s the impression I get. I’m terribly sorry to suggest a replacement, but how about Master Georgios? If you bring him along, he’ll surely help balance the party.
[end flashback]
Jason: Huh!? HUH!? What the hell is Chiron on about!? I don’t get nervous at all just because he’s around! I’m the man who journeyed across the sea on the Argo! Orion: I don’t really know what he’s talking about, but you probably will have a lot of screw ups. Arjuna: I agree. To be honest, I can picture it all in my mind. Jason: Since when did you guys get to be such a bunch of know-it-alls!? ……Well, it’s fine. So, what are you gonna do, Circe? It doesn’t matter if you go. It’s a Micro-Singularity, so three Servants should be more than enough. Orion: Including me? Jason: Why would you think you’re included in that number? I’m not gonna rely on the skills of a stuffed animal.
> Orion is pretty calm
Orion: Oho, so you’ve finally zeroed in on my strengths, Master. That is, being able to pull back and look at everything from a bird’s eye view. Fou: Fou...... Circe: Oh…… I— I’m sorry. It’s kinda…… Um…...
> You don’t need to force yourself.
Circe: Thanks. No, wait a second…… Let me think…… Orion: (......Why is this “Great Witch” frozen and twitching in a corner of the bed) Jason: ……We’ll be on our way now. I think we can manage without one or two Great Witches. Circe: Wha!? Jason, isn’t that super rude of you? If you don’t have a Great Witch, won’t you be in trouble? Jason: ……Alright, let’s go! Circe: Agh, wait. I said wait! Let me think on it a little more——
[we Reyshift]
> In the end, she just sorta went with the flow……
Jason: The result was gonna be the same either way. Let’s go, Great Witch. Circe: I have a bad feeling about this. Guh…... Georgios: Mm. Even so, it’s quite picturesque. The color of the Greek sea is beautiful. Then, I’ll take one……
[he snaps a photo]
Orion: I’ve been thinking this for a while, Master Georgios, but where’d you pick up that camera? Georgios: Well, it became my hobby without me realizing it. Perhaps I used the Grail to wish for it in some Holy Grail War. …...I’m joking, of course. Orion: …………You got me! (I have no clue what to say when such a grave guy cracks a joke) Mash: ……Ah, everyone, we’re getting a Servant reading immediately. Jason: A stray Servant? Mash: Yes. It seems to be an unknown Heroic Spirit whose Saint Graph has yet to be registered with Chaldea. Arjuna: We don’t know if they’re friend or foe. Let’s approach with caution for the time being. Orion: …………Not that it matters, but. Why “stray” Servant? Jason: Because calling them “wild” Servants totally changes the meaning. Wild Servants are ones like Atalante, Penthesilea, and other meathead Servants. Mash: Jason, Jason— Those two are currently in the control room, so…… Penthesilea: Hey, Jason. I’ll be sure to give you a “warm” welcome when you get back. Atalante: I think I will as well. Tell me, captain, which do you prefer? Being a target or being a crash dummy? Jason: Mash, tell me who’s in the room with you sooner!! It’s a matter of life and death for me! Arjuna: ……Perhaps it’s better for you to keep your mouth shut? Jason: Shut up, Mr. Logic! I’m the type of person who’s got something to say for everything! Georgios: So you admit you talk too much. Circe: *sighhhhhhh*...... This is a total bummer…...
> You okay?
Circe: Yeah, it’s just mental strain, I’m fine physically. Mash: Are your memories of Aeaea Island that bad? Circe: ……Overall, the memories I have of it are good ones. I have just one bad memory. But you know what they say, right? One rotten apple is all it takes to spoil the barrel…… Jason: Odysseus? Circe: Has anyone else ever told you how insensitive you are!? Jason: They have. Circe: What’s with that attitude!? Orion: I mean, sooner or later it was gonna come up, right? Your legend is super famous. Even you know it, right, Master? Circe: !!
> Of course I know it.
Circe: *grumbles* Well, at least there’s no need to explain. Right, moving on! Jason: Well, the gist of it is she was totally rejected by the guy she fell in love with. Circe: Can you be a little more tactful—!? Is this just what human royalty is like!?
> Not very well……
Circe: Yeah, exactly. It’s nothing you need to know about, Piglet! Orion: Oh, then I’ll explain it. Circe: It’s. Fine. Just. Drop. It. Orion: It was after the end of the Trojan War. Odysseus got on a boat to return home…... Circe: You’re rea~lly doing this, huh. Orion: But he was set adrift. A bunch of other stuff happened, but long story short, he ends up washing up on Aeaea Island. Jason: But the witch who lived there didn’t trust humans, so they got turned into animals. Stuff like pigs and lions and wolves. Orion: Even though they were welcomed in, Odysseus’s men were also transformed into pigs. But she sure apologized quickly when Odysseus got angry and pulled a sword out.  Circe: Agh- Geh- Guh…… (She’s writhing) Jason: And then, in exchange for turning his men back to normal, she got Odysseus to stay. ……Now that I think about it, you’re pretty good at doing business…… Circe: You think that’s what’s admirable!? Orion: But, ya’know, from the start Odysseus already had a wife, Penelope. After recuperating his strength on Aeaea Island, he decided to return home. Circe: (She’s starting to get into the depressed loner at PE pose) Jason: And that’s the story of how Circe got rejected! Circe: ーThank you all for your “courteous” explanation. I’m so gonna turn you guys into pigs!!
Orion: ......Huh? Hey, Master, do you think that guy way over there is the Servant? They’re collapsed on the beach. Jason: Oh, maybe they smell bad and that’s why all those Phantasmal Beasts are gathering around.
> W- We have to help them!
Georgios: Indeed. Let’s move out! Circe: Fine, but I’ve still got a number of complaints, so— Jason: Forget about that and help!!
[battle]
Georgios: That should be it. Now then, everyone, if you would be so kind. Everyone: ? Georgios: Smile.
[he snaps a photo]
Jason: I smiled on instinct, but is there a reason why you had to take a picture? Georgios: For the memories, of course. Circe: Well, we should probably get to waking up this Servant, right? Good grief, we really are a bunch of insensitive heroes…… Hey, are you okay? …… …… Hm? Hmmmmm?
> What is it?
Circe: I- It’s nothing. Super, totally not even a thing, ya’know? Jason: I thought the back of their head looked strange, but it’s a helmet, huh? Oi, they might be drowning in there. Why don’t you take off his helmet? Circe: ...... ...... Orion: Georgios, teacherー please helpー. Georgios: Right. And-a-one, and-a-twoー ???: Ug…… Ugh…… W- Where am I……? Jason: Oh, he’s alive. ???: Who are...... you people......?
[Circe is constantly at the side of the frame while we’re talking]
> We’re from Chaldea
???: Chaldea......? Jason: If you don’t know Chaldea, does Jason or Orion ring a bell? ???: ......Those are the names of legendary heroes…… Are you saying you are too? Georgios: I am Georgios. The thing that looks like a bear at first glance is Orion. And the man who’s crossing his arms, slowly backing away, and thinking things like “When I get my chance I’ll turn tail and run”...... That one is Jason. Jason: Why do I get roasted for my introduction!? Georgios: Moving on— Oh? What happened to Circe?
> Huh?
???: ......Circe? Mash: Circe seems to have slipped away. Orion: Just what does she think she’s doing…… Hey, you guys stay here. Master and I will find her. Jason: So she ended up skipping out after all. ???: Circe…… Georgios: She’s the famed Great Witch of Aeaea Island. You’ll meet her in a bit.
Node 2
[at a waterfall]
ーAll at once, I ran away. I don’t understand what’s happening right now. All I knew was that I had to get away from that suffocating atmosphere.
Circe: *pant*…… *pant* *pant*…… So that bad feeling I had was right……
……I thought this day would come. Because he is a hero. A hero among heroes. Of course he would be summoned, the only question is when.
Circe: It probably wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t a chance meeting.
Why did it have to be this, of all things? I just had to find him summoned to Aeaea Island. Where it all began.
Circe: What’s gotten into me, running away like that!? I’m not usually this bad. Right now I am first and foremost— Guda’s Servant. …… ……
……If I could just breathe and sort my feelings outー But even as I think this……
[there’s a noise]
Circe: Can everything just be quiet!
> Circe!
Circe: Guh, Master!!
[she starts shifting around]
Circe: *fiddles with her hair* *pulls her own cheeks* *checks her face in a hand mirror* *turns away, then looks back with a smile* Hey hi, what’s up, Piglet! Orion: Stop looking in the mirror and help us fightー!! Circe: You’re just a bear that doesn’t understand a maiden’s heart!!
> Preparing for combat!
[battle]
> Now then, what’s wrong?
Circe: ...... ......Ugh. It’s about that guy we found on the beach.
> Do you know him?
Circe: I do know him. I know him very well. That man’s name is— ......Odysseus. He’s one of the few heroes that survived the Trojan War. The man who devised the Trojan Horse and led the Achaean forces to victory. ……A man who was set adrift for a long, long time on his way back to his beloved wife. ……A man who spent a bit of time with me here, on Aeaea Island.
---
T/L: Only one! The section where Circe is “frozen and twitching at the corner of the bed” is a phrase that I do believe got translated (re: her connection to Penelope in Material Book VI) as “curled up in a fetal position”. I think, perhaps, the description in the Material Book could be translated as that, but that turn of phrase seemed much too severe for Circe in this moment. The feeling here is more like “are you sure you want to think on it” rather than “oh something is seriously wrong here”

Kota Chapter 30: Bombs Away
Table of Contents | Beginning
It wasn't easy to line their schedules up, but eventually Marinette managed to meet up with Fu to discuss relaxing techniques.
They met right after school, but it was already late afternoon by the time they were finishing up. If Marinette hadn't promised to meet up with Alya, she would have stayed even longer. But after cancelling two study sessions because of akuma attacks, Marinette didn't want to stand Alya up again.
Still, there was something she needed to say first.
"There is one thing I'd like to talk to you about," Marinette said.
"Yes?"
"It's about the temporary heroes," Marinette said. "Im starting to think we should be trusting them more."
Fu hmmed thoughtfully. "They have proven to be trustworthy. However, I do not know if it is safe to trust them with anymore. Putting more miraculous out in permanent use isn't safe."
"No, but there are other things we could do," Marinette said. "We don't have to give them their miraculouses permanently, but we can lend them out - give them some time to talk to their kwami, maybe bring them on a patrol so they can learn how to use their powers in a situation that isn't a battle."
"An interesting idea," Fu admitted.
"I was thinking of starting with Rena and Carapace - If that's okay with you, of course. But I want to give everyone a chance - except for maybe Kagami. Since Hawkmoth knows her identity, it might be too dangerous."
"If you think it is wise, I'll go along with it," Fu said. "I'm sure I can live a few days without Wayzz."
"Great!" Marinette said. "I'll come by tomorrow to pick them up!"
.
An akuma attack that night forced her to bring out the miraculouses a lot earlier.
The akuma called himself Ghost - according to his monologue, he had been stood up on a date. His powers included phasing through objects, flight, and shooting love potions grenades that made you fall in love with the first person you saw after being hit.
Chat Noir had been hit, but since he already had a huge (and sometimes annoying) crush on Ladybug, he didn't show any signs of being affected. Still, Ladybug decided having a few more allies was a good idea.
Carapace and Rena Rouge were her first choices. Not only did they have the experience to not be hit, but they had the same safety net as Chat Noir. Ladybug debated grabbing Alix, thinking that perhaps her being aromantic would keep her from being affected. On the other hand, if she never had a crush before, a magically-induced one might be twice as distracting.
Ladybug also considered Kota. She was a romantic, and had self-proclaimed herself someone who crushed easily, so there was a good chance she could focus through the effects of the love potion. But Lacy had been strangely out of it through out the school day, maybe it wasn't a good idea.
"It's your decision," Tikki said when Marinette relayed her thought process to her.
When Fu opened the miracle box, Marinette grabbed the fox and rooster and asked for the turtle.
"And will you be leaving the miraculouses with Rena and Carapace?" Fu asked.
"Yes," Marinette confirmed.
"I hope you know what you're doing."
"Me too."
It was the middle of the night, so Ladybug ended up having to wake up Alya, Nino, and Lacy (she was starting to suspect that Lacy never slept, and was glad to be proven wrong.)
Chat Noir was waiting for them on the rooftop, with a rose for Ladybug. Ladybug ignored him, and instead filled the other superheroes in on the plan.
Well, it wasn't a plan. More like a general idea.
Ghost was terrorizing a small apartment building, flying in front bedroom windows and startling the people inside. In a dark gray suit and butterfly mask, the akumatized object - a blood red rose in his chest pocket - was obvious.
Rena Rouge dropped onto the street behind Ghost and casted her mirage.
Ladybug watched her sorta-plan unfold, sparing minimum attention to Chat Noir's frequent flower-bringing.
Maybe the potion was having a stronger effect than Ladybug originally thought.
Ladybug swung from her perch across the street to the apartment building, landing on the roof just in time to see Ghost raise his arms to aim two potions at the mirage. She jumped, wrapping her yo-yo around Ghost's arms and yanking him to the ground.
Ghost was halfway there before he went intangible, phasing out of the yo-yo strings. He aimed a potion at Ladybug, but Carapace jumped in front of it and it bounced harmlessly off his shield.
Ghost turned tangible again and dove for Ladybug, but Kota jumped onto his back. The forced caused Ghost to fly into the concrete, sending him and Kota tumbling.
Kota was back on her feet in seconds, but couldn't dodge the potion as it hit her.
Ladybug grimaced. This was not going well.
"Lucky charm!"
She reached for her lucky charm, and the action forced her to drop her guard. Ghost launched another love potion, and Ladybug abandoned the lucky charm to reach for her yo-yo.
The potion would have hit her if Kota didn't jump in front, using her kite to knock the potion back.
"Thanks," Ladybug said, picking her lucky charm off the ground.
Kota flashed her a smile before Ghost forced her back on the defensive.
Ladybug watched the fight, keeping her eyes out for what she needed for this lucky charm. Very slowly, a plan started to form.
"Rena, I'm going to need your help."
.
It wasn't until after Ladybug and Kota landed in Lacy's apartment that Ladybug realized something.
"Did the love potion not affect you?" Ladybug asked when Kota had detransformed.
Lacy dig a granola bar out of her desk and opened it for her kwami.
"I guess not," she replied, handing the bar to Orikko.
"Course it didn't," Orikko said, mouth full. "Considering who your mom is."
"Your mom?" Ladybug asked.
"Oh, um, it's nothing," Lacy stuttered.
Ladybug frowned. As far as she knew, Lacy didn't talk about her mom at all. Whenever the topic came up, she usually mentioned Elisabeth, and most of the class was probably under the impression that Elisabeth was her biological mother. If Lacy's mother was important - maybe even magical, considering the context - Ladybug wanted to know, but if she didn't want to talk about it...
Orikko also seemed to decide to respect Lacy's privacy, because he didn't mention it again. Instead, he landed on Lacy's desk and started looking through a fresh batch of photos she had printed.
"Thank you for your help tonight," Ladybug said. "I know these late-night akumas are horrible."
"It's not that bad, with the rooster miraculous," Lacy replied with a shrug. "Must be rough on you and Chat though."
"Ugh, yeah," Ladybug agreed. "I'm starting to think Hawkmoth doesn't sleep."
Orikko finished his granola bar, and Lacy handed the miraculous over.
"Hope you still have time to sleep," she said.
"That depends on if there's another akuma," Ladybug said. "Sleep well."
Lacy yawned and waved goodbye, and Ladybug swung away.
Carapace and Rena Rouge were waiting for Ladybug on the rooftop of the apartment building Ghost had attacked. They were cuddling together when Ladybug landed.
"Ladybug!" Rena Rouge jumped on to her feet, blushing. Carapace followed suit. "You, uh, said you wanted to talk to us."
"Yes," Ladybug confirmed. "The two of you have proven yourself as useful allies, and I think it's time you took the next step forward."
"Are you letting us keep our miraculouses?" Rena Rouge said, face brightening.
"Not permanently," Ladybug replied. "At least, not yet. But I want you to have them for a few days. Get to know your kwamis a little better. Maybe learn a thing or two about your miraculous. In a few days, I'll still take them back, and it will be harder once you've spent time with your kwamis, but I think this is the right thing to do."
"Thank you!"
"We won't let you down."
.
"Trixx, let's rest."
Alya collapsed on her bed, watching as Trixx flew around her room. She couldn't believe it -she would have a whole couple days with her miraculous!
I wonder if Ladybug would mind if transformed without an akuma around?
As Trixx sniffed and investigated Alya's room, Alya sent Nino an orange heart emoji - her code for getting home safe after an akuma. A second later, he replied with a green heart. Satisfied, Alya locked her phone and plugged it in.
That brought her attention back to Trixx.
"I have so many questions," Alya blurted.
"I'm sure you do, pup," Trixx replied.
"What were the other fox heroes like?" Alya questioned. "I bet they were awesome rogues, tricksters, thieves - but with secret hearts of gold that earned them their miraculouses."
Trixx scoffed. "Sure, pup. Rogues and thieves could definitely be trusted not to abuse a miraculous of illusion."
Alya frowned. "That's a good point. But does that mean fox heroes are usually the opposite - people dedicate to the truth?"
"You're a good fox hero," Trixx said. "What category do you fall in?"
"I'm dedicated to the truth!" Alya declared. "Though I've been told I'm pretty gullible too."
"Yes, because the average 14-year-old is smart enough to know instantly when they're fooled," Trixx droned. "You're young, of course you're gullible. It's not necessarily a bad thing."
Trixx finished flying around the room and settled on Alya's laptop, like a cat seeking out the warmest place in the room. They curled up like a croissant.
"Next question?"
Alya tumbled for a moment before digging out her ultra-secret notebook and opening to the page where she had written down questions for Trixx and/or Ladybug.
"Why is the ladybug miraculous the only one who can purify the akumas?"
"I don't know the specifics," Trixx admitted. "Save the question for Ladybug."
Alya made a note and moved on. "Okay. Do miraculouses have any affect on dreams?"
"Not in the way you mean," Trixx replied.
"Huh?"
"I'm not an expert on dreams," Trixx explained. "But I'm pretty sure everything you encounter can affect your dreams, but there's no magical side effect - at least not with mine."
"Oh."
"If you're having magical dreams, it's probably hereditary," Trixx said. "You do have a magic smell around you."
"A what?" Alya asked.
"That's all I can say," Trixx said. "Your parents would know."
Alya scribbled a note to ask her parents later - because magic? - before continuing on.
"So it's possible that I could dream a memory of something," Alya pressed. "Like one of the past fox heroes?"
"Yes," Trixx agreed.
"Interesting."
Alya made a note and yawned.
"Tired?" Trixx questioned.
"No," Alya lied.
"Good," Trixx said. "It would be a shame if my new pup could tire out only after - oh, what was that, an entire battle? In the middle of the night? On a school night? After probably staying up late working on schoolwork or whatever teenagers do nowadays."
Alya yawned again. "Okay, maybe I am tired. But I have so many questions! Are there any side effects I might experience? I already think my hearing has improved, but Nino says I'm just imagining it."
"You're just imagining it."
"Am not!" Alya argued.
"Well, there you go," Trixx answered. "Your hearing and other sense might improve. You could gain night vision. You also might start screaming around Carapace."
"Screaming?"
"It's a fox's mating call," Trixx said. "Try not to do it public - people may stare."
"No kidding," Alya said. "What about turtles? Is Nino going to start doing weird mating calls?"
"I don't know," Trixx admitted. "Something to ask Wayzz - the turtle kwami."
Alya made a note and yawned again. "Alright, we'll continue this in the morning. Anything I need to get for you?"
"I'm good for now," Trixx said. "I'll need food in the morning, and someplace to hide during the school day, like a backpack."
"Okay," Alya said. "What type of food? My mom keeps our pantries full."
"You figure it out", Trixx said. "Night, pup."
"Goodnight."
.
Trixx clearly didn't like any of the food Alya offered - even the things that foxes were supposed to eat - but still ate their full. They had no problem hiding in her book bag, snuggling up next to some of her hygiene stuff. Alya had read that foxes were nocturnal, so she expected Trixx to sleep throughout the day.
Alya hadn't noticed it the night before, but her miraculous had changed from a fox tail to an orange heart with a white center. She had planned on figuring out how to hide it, but with the change there was no need.
She was the first in her group of friends to arrive to class, though the other side of the classroom was bustling with activity. Sabrina and Chloe were talking animatedly, Kim and Ivan were arguing, and Lacy, Alix, and Nathaniel were huddled together in the back whispering. Alya hesitated, wondering which conversation she was most curious about.
Max ended up breaking up the argument, so Alya headed towards the back to find out what had her classmates whispering.
"It's nothing," Lacy said, way too fast, when Alya asked.
Alya narrowed her eyes. "Is that so?"
"What she meant was it's none of your business," Alix said with a scowl.
"I'm just curious," Alya defended.
Alix rolled her eyes. "Aren't you always."
Marinette bursted through the door, looking disheveled, so Alya went to help her. But she wasn't giving up.
"You okay, girl?" Alya asked, sliding into her seat.
Marinette popped down in hers. "I had a horrible dream last night! I overslept, and missed the whole day of school, and Bustier got so mad that she said I'd have to repeat the grade-"
"Sounds scary."
"I could not get here soon enough," Marinette said. "I guess it's kinda silly."
"Nah," Alya replied. "There's always those few minutes after a dream where it feels real. Besides, it got you to class five minutes earlier than usual!"
"Morning!"
Adrien and Nino walked in, Adrien flashing his bright model smile at them and Nino stifling a yawn.
"Morning," Alya replied.
"Morning," Marinette squeaked.
"Did you hear about the akuma attack last night?" Adrien asked. "The love one?"
"Yeah, Ghost, right?" Alya asked.
"Kept me up all night," Nino complained.
Adrien gave him a curious look but didn't argue. Alya figured Adrien was well aware that the akuma hadn't kept Nino up - maybe he knew that the akuma hadn't lasted that long, or saw Nino's icon on whatever online thing had kept him up all night.
(Then again, Nino might have been too occupied with Wayzz to be online.)
"Have you checked your phone?" Nino asked.
Alya raised an eyebrow. She rarely missed notifications on her phone, but Nino's tone of voice implied he sent her something and she hadn't seen anything from him.
She dug her phone out of her bookbag, not surprised to see Trixx had fallen asleep. Her phone had a text notification from Nino.
Trixx eats tofu - Wayzz
Alya grinned. Thank you, Wayzz.
.
Marinette searched her bag and her locker with no luck.
"I can't believe I lost my notebook!" She complained.
"I'm sure you'll find it," Tikki reassured her. "Didn't you leave a notebook on the table at breakfast?"
"No, that was my other notebook," Marinette said.
"What about the notebook you left on the balcony?"
"No, that's the other notebook," Marinette corrected. "The designs I need are only in this one."
"Wait, didn't you lend Alya a notebook?"
"No, that's my school notebook," Marinette said. "I know! I left it in the art room."
She closed her locker and headed up to the art room, which was fairly full for a room of that size. Three students from a different class were huddled around one table, whispering while eating lunch and planning some project. On the other side of the room, Lacy, Alix, Nathaniel, and Marc were hunched over something.
"Hey!" Alix greeted, waving at Marinette.
"Hello," Marinette replied, before going to the desk she remember putting her notebook on.
She found it under a couple of papers, untouched. Marinette slipped it in her bag, noticing one of the other students glaring at her as she did so.
"Don't mind them."
Lacy slid next to her, talking softly.
"They're in Lila's new class," she explained. "She's pulling her usual stunts."
Marinette glanced at the students, feeling almost sorry for them.
"Maybe we should warn them," she suggested.
"Alix tried," Lacy replied. "They didn't listen."
Marinette sighed. "I thought we were done with Lila."
"You could be," Lacy said. "I mean, you're right to want to warn them and all, but she doesn't have to be your problem now. She's really hurt you, so take your time and recover."
"I don't know," Marinette replied. "I've never been good at letting things go."
"And that's what makes you our everyday Ladybug," Lacy said. "But resting doesn't mean letting it go or ignoring it forever. Just focus on something else for a while."
"You're right. I've got enough problems as is."
Her statement was further proved by the akuma alert going off.
.
Ladybug didn't get instant gratification a lot, but seeing that Rena Rouge and Carapace had not just beaten her and Chat Noir to the battle, but had already began getting citizens out of the way, did give her that feeling.
We've needed this.
Rena Rouge noticed Ladybug first. She glanced at Carapace, and the two heroes exchanged a silent conversation. Carapace moved to cover Rena Rouge as she joined Ladybug on the rooftop.
Chat Noir landed on the rooftop a second later.
"It's a tough one," Rena Rouge reported. "He calls himself Bombarder, and he causes explosions. As far as we can figure out, there's no way to stop the explosion."
Ladybug glanced down at the street, where Carapace was shielding a few citizens as a building exploded. The debris flew towards their rooftop, and Ladybug whirled her yo-yo to block.
"Big explosions too," Ladybug noted. "Any idea where the akuma is?"
Rena Rouge shook her head.
"Great."
Ladybug looked Bombarder over. The majority of his outfit was done in blacks and dark grays, with yellow accents. He had black ankle boots, tight dark gray pants, and a long, short sleeved tunic-like shirt with a yellow sash. The sleeves of his tunic were jagged with yellow edges. His black hair stood up on edge, with yellow tips, and a yellow butterfly mask covered the top of his face. Black stripes covered one of his arms, which stood out against his dark gray skin.
"Maybe it's in his sash," Ladybug figured.
"You don't sound sure," Chat Noir said.
"I'm not," Ladybug confirmed. "We're going to need a lot of help with this one. I think we need everyone."
Chat Noir nodded. "Agreed."
"Rena, can you and Carapace keep Bombarder occupied? Chat, I'll need your help getting everyone. Meet me on top of the hotel."
.
By the time all the heroes were gathered on the same rooftop, Carapace had been forced to use his shelter and recharge, leaving Rena Rouge fighting Bombarder alone. She couldn't protect bystanders as well as Carapace, but she had no problem dodging Bombarder's attacks.
Ladybug had gathered Viperion, Roi Singe, and Kota While Chat Noir found Ryuko, Queen Bee, and Pegasus. Chat Noir and Queen Bee were the last to arrive.
For a moment, Ladybug wondered if Chat Noir had given the bee miraculous to someone else. If she didn't trust her partner so much, she would have believed it.
Queen Bee looked different.
She now had her hair mostly loose, the sides braided back like a crown and striped black. The circlet continued with a metal piece resting on her forehead. She had a black top that almost looked like a chest plate that covered her shoulders, and came down to her mid-stomach. Two yellow stripes lined her neck, like large necklaces, and the she had a yellow under-shirt that covered her arms and the rest of her stomach. She had a black belt and yellow pants with black stripes, black hexagonal knee-pads, and - was that a pocket? Her shiny black boots covered her ankles, and she wore elbow pads that matched her knees. She wore black gloves and black lipstick, and her mask was solid yellow with a black border.
"Why does she get pockets?" Ladybug wondered allowed. She wished she had said something a little more professional, but she wanted pockets.
"I don't know," Queen Bee admitted. "But it feels nice to be back. Thank you, Ladybug."
"Wait, you're Chl- Queen Bee?" Roi Singe asked. "You look totally different! Super cool!"
"I also want pockets," Ryuko commented.
"You look so pretty," Kota said.
"Do you two seriously not have pockets?" Viperion asked.
"Shouldn't we be focusing?" Carapace questioned. "Rena's down there by herself."
"You're right," Ladybug said. I'll talk to a Tikki about pockets later. "Okay, so I've thought about it, and I believe that the akuma will be in something small - something we can't reach easily. Queen Bee, you'll need to use your powers to freeze him."
"You can count on me," Queen Bee said.
"Carapace, stay on the lookout for bystanders," Ladybug said. "We want to minimize risk as much as possible. Kota, Ryuko, you're the most agile of us - you'll be doing what Rena is doing right now. Viperion, do your thing. Pegasus, I want you to help me with a trap - we're sending Bombarder away from citizens."
"To the arena?" Pegasus assumed.
"Yes," Ladybug confirmed. "Chat Noir, Roi Singe, you two will wait for him there to pick up from Ryuko and Kota. Carapace, I want you to follow Bombarder through the portal if you haven't use your power yet, and cast a shelter around the arena. Queen Bee, you'll also have to be at the arena already. Kota, I'll be trusting you to make sure Rena gets out safely as well. Alright, go!"
Chat Noir, Roi Singe, and Queen Bee headed towards the stadium. Kota and Ryuko charged at Bombarder, Ryuko landing a solid hit with her sword. Carapace and Viperion found a rooftop with a good view, and Pegasus hung back with Ladybug.
Kota deflected debris with her shield as the building behind Rena Rouge exploded. Ryuko engaged Bombarder, giving Kota time to usher Rena Rouge away. When she was close enough, Ladybug used her yo-yo to bring her up to the rooftop.
"You okay?" Ladybug asked.
"I'm fine," Rena Rouge said. "I could go another couple minutes. The buildings on the street, not so much."
"Good, because I'm going to need your help."
The trap worked perfectly. Bombarder didn't even realize there was a portal until he was on the other side of it.
Viperion, Rena Rouge, and Pegasus all needed to recharge, and Kota had been thrown several blocks away, but the rest of the heroes followed him in. Chat Noir and Roi Singe immediately attacked, both whacking him with their baton and staff. Carapace called for a shelter.
Ladybug landed on the bleachers, keeping an eye on the fight so she could intervene if needed.
"Lucky charm!"
A pillow fell into Ladybug's arm.
"It's a repeat," Queen Bee noted.
Ladybug didn't respond - she was already coming up with a plan.
"Be ready to go," she warned Queen Bee. "Hey, bomb guy! Explode this!"
With as much force as she had, Ladybug threw the pillow at Bombarder. Halfway there, the pillow exploded.
And a bunch of feathers engulfed Bombarder.
Queen Bee moved fast, launching herself off of the bleachers and whipping her top at Bombarder.
"Venom!"
The top smacked into Bombarder, freezing him into place.
"Nice one, Queen Bee!" Roi Singe called.
Ladybug and Queen Bee joined them on the field. Bombarder has frozen with his wrists bent, and Ladybug could see that the black stripes were actually ribbons that attached to a bracelet near his gloves.
"Alright, kitty, I need your claws."
Chat Noir swiped through the ribbons, shredding them easily, and a butterfly flew out. Carapace dropped the shelter, and Kota and Viperion joined them a second later.
Rena Rouge landed behind the heroes just as Ladybug released the butterfly, and Pegasus arrived seconds later.
"Pound it!"
Ladybug looked over her team. It was the first time they had all been together, and she suddenly realized the potential they had, as a team.
But they never really had a chance to work as a team, and that needed to change.
.
"Are you sure?" Fu asked.
"I'm sure," Marinette replied.
"Okay," Fu agreed. "Let's do it."

The Gamer Hero, Deku Chapter 24
A/N: Sorry I haven't updated in so long but first there were finals and then I kinda just needed to get back into the mindset to write this... My writing needs a bit of momentum sometimes.
By the way, I've decided to stop putting those accent things in Shoto and other people's names. I still haven't figured out how to do them using the keyboard so I have to find it somewhere every time I want to use it, which can get annoying... That, plus the fact that Shoto is probably going to be referred to by his first name a lot in the story soon? Yeah I hope you guys don't mind.
MattKennedy: Yeah, totally! The OFA Quirks that Izuku has unlocked so far are Fear, Skeletal, and Magnetize. Fear is an emitter Quirk that allows the user to raise or lower the level of a person's fear by making eye contact, Skeletal is a transformation Quirk that allows the user to turn any part of their body into a hardened, bone-like substance, and Magnetize is an emitter Quirk that allows the user to magnetize any object (though it explicitly does not work on living things or any body part attached to a living being). There are only three OFA Quirks that have yet to be shown, which are (SPOILER ALERT) Mending, Blackwhip, and Float. The only two of those that I didn't make up are Blackwhip and Float. Oh, and a fun fact: originally I thought of a Quirk that would let Izuku flatten people and things into any flat surface to kinda-sorta turn them into graffiti (actually I think it was the first original OFA user Quirk I thought of...) but decided against that because it would probably be a little overpowered if Izuku could just take out anyone he could push into a flat surface, even if there was a limitation on just slapping someone on the head so hard they become part of the ground, so I replaced it with Mending. Another fun fact, Fear causes Izuku's eyes to become slitted like a snake's.

"This tournament has been so exciting so far!" Mic-sensei shouted.
"It's almost over, but I doubt there won't be some more... excitement," Aizawa-sensei added.
"That's right! This next battle will be Aoyama versus Bakugou! Who will win, folks? Will it be the radiant paladin, or will the red-hot warmage!"
"Start!" Midnight-sensei said.
"Let us have a glorious battle, mon ami!" Aoyama glittered.
Kacchan laughed. "Like it'd be anything else! Hit me with your best shot!"
"As you wish!" As with Tokoyami's fight, Aoyama opened by turning his sparkles into lasers. But while Kacchan dodged them his navel started to glow again. Aoyama struck a pose, and ribbons of light erupted from his stomach and enveloped him. The armor looked slightly thicker than what he had last time, but was unmistakably the spell he'd used last time.
"Let's see what you can do!" Kacchan shouted. He blasted himself at Aoyama, fists blazing. He slapped Aoyama in the armored chest and shot himself back with a small explosion. The hits caused Aoyama's armor to fluctuate and knocked him back, but aside from looking a little less vibrant the armor held. Kacchan grinned.
Aoyama smiled back at him and shot another wave of lasers. Kacchan tried to phase through the lasers with Fire Embodiment but was still blown back anyway. "Shall we get this battle started for real?" Aoyama asked as he struck a pose and used the distraction to fire up his Quirk again. His armor thickened and formed a stylish helmet, then the excess light flowed down his arms and formed into a rapier and buckler. Aoyama flourished his sword and shouted, "Taste the sting of my Silver Chariot! En garde!"
Kacchan's grin widened. "If that's how you're gonna play this..." he muttered. He struck an equally dramatic pose, almost literal fire in his eyes. A glow similar to Fire Aura engulfed his body, but it looked deeper somehow. I honed my senses on it and heard a ping.
A new skill has been created through special action! From extensive use of skills to understand magical effects, the skill 'Analyze' has been created!
"That'll be useful," I muttered. It created a text box with information that I already knew some of from using Eye for Magic. Which meant it would probably be made passive by Tactician, unlike Eye for Magic or Open Mind. Score. Now if only I could get an Open Mind version... I filed that away for later and looked at the Analyze text box.
Fire Ignition
An infusion of the fire element into one's body stronger than Fire Aura. Grants greater enhancement than Fire Aura, but damages the user.
Increases attack damage by 90%, increases movement speed by 45%, increases STR by 30%, user generates extreme heat.
150 MP used per minute.
User takes 150 HP of fire damage per minute.
Locks user into using exclusively the fire element.
Maybe he tried to brute force Fire Embodiment and got something somewhere in between? It looked like I'd be healing him after this fight...
The ground crackled and glowed from the sheer heat pouring out of Kacchan. "If that armor of yours is Silver Chariot... how 'bout we call what I'm doing Magician's Red?" Even I could barely follow it when he ran at Aoyama, leaving only a few burning footprints behind him. He was behind Aoyama before he could even react, and slammed his leg into him. Aoyama was sent flying, sparkles erupting from where Kacchan kicked him. Aoyama almost flew out of the arena from that one attack, but managed to force himself to slam into the ground using light magic, leaving a rainbowy afterimage of himself for a second. The ground cracked from the hit and Aoyama's armor looked a little worse for wear, but Aoyama just looked a little dazed. He used that new spell, Starlight Dash, to get up immediately.
"DIE!" Just in time, too. Aoyama just barely managed to Starlight Dash out of the way of Kacchan dashing at him. Kacchan stopped on a dime when he passed through Aoyama's afterimage, shattering the ground from his stomp, and shot himself at Aoyama again. It almost looked like he was hitting the ground so hard that he was being launched around by the recoil... Aoyama flinched and raised his shield. Kacchan slammed shoulder-first into the shield. The buckler flashed in an explosion of light, knocking Kacchan back. He almost landed outside of the arena but Fire Dashed back in just in time. "Not bad," Kacchan said. Then he lunged back at Aoyama. He let loose a flurry of almost-blows, just barely stopping himself from triggering Aoyama's shield trap whenever he maneuvered it in place with an explosion. Even though Kacchan never landed a hit on Aoyama, though, each explosion pushed him back a bit.
Kacchan yelled and slammed the ground in front of Aoyama. The ground exploded, knocking him into the air. Then Kacchan wiped his forehead and flicked his hand at Aoyama. A few small beads of fiery light flew off of his hand, landing on Aoyama's armor and shield. The mana-charged sweat droplets exploded, launching Aoyama back. Before he could touch the ground, Kacchan tackled him again. This time Aoyama didn't manage to save himself in time. He dropped outside of the arena and let his armor dissipate. Meanwhile, Kacchan collapsed to the ground. His skin was red, and he had steam rolling off of him. Luckily his pants were mostly fine, but his shirt was more ash than shirt...
"The match is over!" Midnight announced. "Aoyama is out of bounds! Bakugou is the winner! Now go to the nurse before your next match, Bakugou."
xoxoxo
I waited in the waiting room while Kacchan got chewed out by Shuzenji-sensei. Sonia flinched at something and sat down next to me.
"Hey, Izuku," she muttered out loud, even though she was still incorporeal. She liked doing that sometimes, probably because she was a sound elemental.
"What's up, Sonia?" I asked.
"You... might wanna be extra nice to Iida for a while..."
"Did you eavesdrop on a conversation?"
She frowned. "It's not... I hear everything within my range. That's just what it's like as a sound elemental. I used to not... process it, I guess, but now that I'm contracted I know what everything I hear means..."
"Oh." That was... interesting. I'd heard the elementals say things that implied they existed somehow outside of being summoned, but that was... interesting. "Do you... want to talk about it?"
Sonia shook her head. "Nah. It's actually a lot nicer than not really knowing anything that's going on. Besides, Granny's almost done yelling at Kacchan."
I got up. "Alright, then. Let's go."
xoxoxo
Kacchan grinned toothily at me. "So. It's you against me, huh?" He said over the roar of the crowd. "I figured it would be." He did his signature fist-punch. "Let's have a great fight, Deku!"
I smiled at him. "I'll make sure of it."
"IT'S THE FINAL FIGHT, FOLKS!" Mic-sensei shouted. "MIDORIYA VERSUS BAKUGOU! WON'T THIS BE A SHOW!?"
"Midoriya and Bakugou have shown themselves several times in the sports festival to be very talented and very powerful," Aizawa-sensei added. "Honestly, even I've been inspired by the crazy things the students have been doing..."
"Start!"
Kacchan jumped at me with a proto-Flash Step, boosting with his explosions. I reacted just in time to activate Elemental Embodiment, and Kacchan swung at air. It still hurt because he used fire magic, but I rematerialized behind him and Bass Blasted him. Naturally Kacchan didn't go anywhere near the edge from the sound blast, but he went a bit further than I thought he would. "LIMIT BREAK!" I shouted right off the bat. I swung my arm like I was throwing a bowling ball, outputting a lot of ice magic. "GLACIER PRISON!" Kacchan was encased in a giant wall of ice. Just as I thought, that was only a temporary stop. I could see him melting through the ice already. I Flash Stepped in front of the Glacier Prison and activated Ice Aura. I kicked the base of the ice, cleanly breaking it from the ground, and pushed it with a small use of OFA combined with ice magic. The entire Glacier Prison started sliding like in Kirby when you move into an enemy you used Ice Kirby on, if you were able to freeze boss-sized enemies with Ice Kirby.
Kacchan exploded out of the ice in a wave of steam and water before he went out, spraying half the arena in water as he hurtled straight towards me. I planted my feet and swung back to hit him. He threw a few strands of his hair at me for some reason, then cocked his own fist back. When I went to swing, my arm was stopped by something, letting Kacchan get a free hit on me. Whatever blocked my arm didn't stop me at all from getting knocked back. I had Dune raise a few rock walls for me to crash into. I got back up and... tried to Flash Step. Something around my chest this time stopped me. Luckily Damage Reduction meant that it didn't hurt me too much... I looked down at what was blocking me and saw several strands of long fibers. As I watched, a few more threads of silk wrapped around my body.
"You've probably noticed by now, huh?" Kacchan said. And then I thought to check his affinities again. Sonic 40 and Bio 30. "You can come out now, Leaf!"
The silk anchored to the rock wall I threw up grew and morphed into a green-haired boy in a green blanket cocoon that may or may not have been a giant leaf. He grumbled a bit and said, "Hey."
"The surprise is over, get him," Kacchan ordered. Thousands of strands of silk erupted from the bio elemental and wrapped around me and the surroundings. I was quickly wrapped up tight in a silk cocoon. I tried to use Lightning Embodiment to escape, but the webbing was resistant enough that that was a waste of time and MP. I struggled, trying to get some leeway, and took stock of the situation. I couldn't really move, the silk blocked my lightning, I could hear, or rather not hear, that there was enough material that it was soundproof, Halitus told me that it was airtight... I tried water and then bio. Water just left the cocoon wet, but I was able to merge into the web with bio. Leaf tried to keep me in the center, but I was, with a little difficulty, still able to phase through the silk. My hand got free of the web, so I slammed it into the ground and turned it into roots. I pulled the rest of my body out of the cocoon by turning into a small oak tree.
"OH WHAT THE HELL!" Kacchan shouted. "Alright, let's do a pincer attack on the tree!" Kacchan Fire Dashed at me from one side while Leaf lashed out with silk from the other. I burst into cactus needles, evading the webs and stabbing Kacchan a few times. I gathered my body back together, except for a few needles that Kacchan manage to incinerate, and reformed behind him. Kacchan turned around, murder in his eyes. "Leaf," he growled.
Leaf sighed and shot more silk at me, while Kacchan threw fireballs where Leaf wasn't covering. I smiled at Kacchan before turning into water. Leaf's string shots stabbed right through me, splashing even more water around. It didn't help that all of Kacchan's fireballs hit into what remained of the ice prison, nor that I had Rayne subtly spread all the water around. I "fell" into the puddles, then popped up behind Kacchan. I slapped him with a wave of water, soaking him, then switched to Lightning Embodiment.
"Ah, shi-" Kacchan started to say before getting punched by my lightning fist. He coped a lot better than the last time I used that combo, though, because after only a few hits my hand hit his wooden face with a lot less impact. Kacchan smirked and transformed his arm into a bunch of vines, which he wrapped around me. I changed back to normal and almost immediately turned to air to get away. Kacchan cursed as I rematerialized on the far side of the arena from him. He pointed at me, a fire lit on the tip of his finger. I grinned, activated Eye For Magic, and mirrored Kacchan perfectly, copying the magic he was putting into it almost perfectly. He shot the fire bullet at me, which I copied. Then he blinked and summoned more fireballs. I summoned more fireballs almost immediately. With my INT it was hopefully quick enough to look simultaneous. We threw a few more fireballs at each other before Kacchan realized that that was getting him nowhere.
"You're not finishing me off with a stupid copycat game, Deku!" Kacchan dashed at me using Fire Ignition. I managed to mimic it with One For All, but fumbled with the explosion to the face that followed it. My head shattered. Conveniently it happened to be made out of stone and I was able to piece it back together. "Damn Elemental Embodiment..." Kacchan blasted me a few more times. This time, however, I blocked the explosions with a Mana Shield, then hit back with a Steam Blast. Kacchan recovered with Fire Dash, then started flying upward. "Come and get me, Deku!"
I grinned, forming Halcyon Wing to fly after him. Really, it was bound to happen at some point. I flew after him, just barely lagging behind him. I flapped my wings, shooting a few feathers at him. Thanks to Halcyon Wing's secondary effect his flight spell also faltered for a moment, letting me catch up and kick him toward the boundary. He blasted himself back up and threw two blades of heat at my wings. I scattered my wings into feathers long enough for the blades to miss most of the feathers, then reconstituted my wings with most of the rest of the feathers. I threw the few that I left out at him and followed up with a small lightning bolt. Kacchan dodged the feathers, but I curved my lightning to strike him in the shoulder. It wasn't enough to do any major harm, but he growled and clutched his arm from the shock. I grinned and fired an Ice Beam at his hand, which was clutching his arm. I also iced that lightning wound for him while I was at it.
"DEKU YOU FUCKER!" Kacchan shouted as he plummeted. He caught himself with Fire Dash, supplemented with Fire Ignition, and rammed straight at me. The fire melted the ice as well. I flapped my wings, which was now no longer enough to screw up Kacchan's Fire Dash, and ascended fast enough that I hoped I would dodge him. It didn't work. "DIE!" Kacchan screamed as he punched me in the face. I shot all my feathers at Kacchan while I was still ascending, then turned to air. I floated down while Kacchan dodged all the feathers, then turned back when I was under him. Ping. I stopped falling before I even used a flight spell.
"Really?" I muttered to myself. "I get a flying Quirk now?" I shrugged it off and reached for the source of my new Quirk, Float. "Hey Kacchan!" I shouted. He pivoted in midair to face me. "Limit Break: Flurry of Blades!" A spear appeared in my left hand and a kunai in my right, both glowing brighter than my normal level 98 Bound Blades. I gave the spear Electric Aura and the kunai Wind Aura, then threw both of them at Kacchan. He dodged them both and shot an explosion off at the spear, but I'd already created my next two weapons, a flaming flamberge and a steam rapier. Bound Blade's interaction with One For All was interesting. Trying to supercharge a single weapon would either make it explode or cause it to become gigantic. Both of those could be useful in the right circumstances, especially as a surprise, but it was a lot better to just generally enhance the skill itself. This made the weapons slightly stronger and gave me a sort of connection to them, but there was an even bigger advantage to it.
Namely the fact that I could make a theoretically infinite amount of weapons, and give them their own individual Elemental Weaponry. Within a few seconds, I'd thrown a little over a hundred weapons at Kacchan. He managed to dodge most of them, though. "What, are you just gonna keep throwing weapons at me, Deku?" he asked. "That's not gonna work!"
I grinned and looked at the mass of floating weapons above Kacchan that I managed to keep him from noticing just by keeping him focused on dodging. "You'd think that..." I sent all the weapons at him at once. Kacchan noticed before any of them actually hit him, thankfully, and started dodging and exploding them again with more than a few curses. While he was preoccupied, I started charging up a large ball of ice magic. When he was most of the way done with my storm of weapons, I threw the swirling ball of frigid energy at him. "Arctic Storm!" I shouted when it hit him, engulfing him in a miniature blizzard. He was tossed out the side, steaming and covered in frost, and I had Halitus make an air cushion to keep him from hitting the ground too hard.
"Bakugou is out of bounds! Midoriya wins!"
I floated down next to Kacchan, landing lightly. "You suck," he told me with a grin wide enough that I had the strangest feeling he wasn't being sincere. I offered him my hand, which he grabbed. "Still, that was a damn good fight," he said as I helped him up.
"C'mon, let's get you patched up so you can accept your silver medal," I said.
He snorted and lightly hit me. "Fuck you, asshole."
"Love you too."
xoxoxo

Overwatch -- The Felicity Smoak List
In light of Emily Bett Rickards’ departure from Arrow here we are with a few of my favorite things. Happy Reading!!
The Phoenix by SuperSillyAndDorky06 (Complete: 27/27| 126,939) --Bratva Oliver
Felicity Smoak fell in love with the broody, intense Oliver Queen, Captain of the Russian Bratva, ages ago but he broke her heart. So, when the sudden marriage between them is arranged, she does not understand it and she does not want it. Except Oliver Queen is not only a harder man to live with than she realized, he also has no intention of letting her go. Mature content. Mild swearing. A lot of sexual tension. And you will want to punch Oliver at times. Kiss him at times ;)
A Code of Silence by OliversMuse (Complete: 34/34| 55,265) --Bratva Oliver  Oliver Queen is a boss of the Star City mafia when he meets and and falls in love with Star City socialite Felicity Smoak. While on their honeymoon their yacht goes down and they are presumed dead. Five years later they unexpectantly show back up alive and Oliver is now also a Captain in the Russian Bratva. As he fights to keep his territory he faces a resistance that will force him to show everyone just how far he will go to protect those he loves and Felicity to show what she will do to protect her family.
I Will Protect Her by beggsyboo (Complete: 22/22| 33,678) --Bratva Oliver  She required protection.
He needed a wife.
                                                  ***
So I’ve just got three Olicity stories and they’re all Bratva!Oliver meh. It’s probably because in fanfiction I ship Felicity with literally anyone other than Oliver (sorry Olicity die-hards). It could be because after a hint of it was introduced, the Arrow-verse canon made it a central piece of the storytelling. Or it could be a multitude of other reasons...let’s not look too deep into it. INSTEAD here are some alternate pair Felicity fics. Enjoy!
+Batlicity
Wait. What happened in Vegas?  by Ellabee15 (Complete: 30/30| 47,651)  Bruce and Felicity accidentally get married in Vegas.
A Bat Reaches for the Light by tdgal1 (wip: 13/?| 35,053)
Oliver sleeps with Isabel and tells Felicity that nonsense. Felicity meets Bruce Wayne, Felicity decides that if Oliver wants no relationship that is what he will get. The first chapter is a summary but things will improve. This is for my good friend Vanessa.
Between a Bat and a Sharp Place by Ellabee15 (Complete: 28/28| 19,849)
Beginning sometime after Oliver makes Felicity his EA this takes a different view of how season 2 might have gone. What if Felicity's family secrets were revealed? How will Oliver react to her being the daughter of a business rival. More importantly how does Tony Stark feel about the way the Arrow treats his daughter. Also Felicity has a history with...Batman?
Batlicity oneshots by  Ellabee15 (Complete: 20/20| 20,250)
Felicity/Bruce Wayne one shots.
How Did We End Up Like This? by Wally_Birb (Complete: 15/15| 46,404)
For half of a decade, Felicity's best friend was a billionaire vigilante with a dark past. No, not that one. What started out as what Felicity insists was a mistake resulted in one of the longest friendship Felicity had ever had. Long distance, of course, because Bruce Wayne wasn't exactly keen on Star City and Felicity wasn't a fan of smog.
When Felicity and Oliver break up, Felicity doesn't want to give up on making a difference. So, she turns to her best friend, looking for comfort (which he fails at giving spectacularly) and understanding (which he wouldn't be able to stop even if he wanted to). She quickly finds herself fitting in with the Batman and his little army of children.
+Clark Kent
The Measure of a Hero by Ellabee15 (Complete: 22/22| 36,873)
After the Glades fall strange things begin happening in Starling.
Man of Smoak, Man of Steel by Ellabee15 (Complete: 24/24| 24,604)
After Felicity graduated from MIT she went to work for a while in Metropolis to set up the Daily Planet's new computer system...and got a little more than she bargained for. AU (Obviously) will feature Arrow story line later.
+Clint Barton
Slings and Arrows of Outrageous Fortune by Ellabee15 (Complete: 29/29| 44,465)
Clint Barton gets tired of being compared to the Arrow and decides to set the record straight once and for all. The last thing he wanted was to get involved in the Arrow's mess. Felicity's struggling with Oliver's willingness to overlook Malcolm's past in order to defeat the League of Assassins. The last thing she needs is another stubborn archer in her life.
**This is followed by  Where We Stand
Not Her Only Archer by Nartie327 (wip: 11/?| 11,844)
What If Oliver wasn't the only archer Felicity knows? What if she had a whole secret life before she joined Team Arrow that no one knew about?
(Timeline: Arrow season 2 & The Avengers: Age of Ultron)
Maybe Next Time I can Buy You That Drink? by lailah (one-shot| 2,868)
“When the shirt was gone her eyes widened in surprise. His body was -- well amazing, it was all rock hard muscle and skin, so much glistening skin. Felicity couldn’t help but reach out and press her hands against him, feel what she was seeing to make sure it was real.”
**This is followed by  The Softer Side
Marry Me (buy me dinner first) by Wally_Birb (one-shot| 7,718)
The one where Clint and Felicity sorta dive headfirst into this whole 'partners' thing and Clint realizes what the initials of Strike Team Delta spell out.
+Thorlicity
When Lightning Strikes by Ellabee15 (Complete: 20/20| 48,473)
After being banished from Asgard, Thor crash lands outside of Starling.
Smoak or Stark? by laxit21 (wip: 58/?| 76,002)
Howard Stark was a known adulterer. Roughly a week after he and his wife are killed in a car accident, their son Tony becomes aware of his younger sister, Felicity Smoak. How will events for both the Arrow and the Avengers change as a result of their sibling relationship?
(Canon divergence for both Arrow and the MCU)
Always Be My Thunder by Ellabee15 (Complete: 27/27| 62,582)
Felicity is recruited by SHIELD to help with an impending disaster. A life altering accident forces her to make an extremely important decision which will forever change the dynamics of Team Arrow and those of the Asgardian court.
Lightning in her blood by Millie 1985 (Complete: 3/3| 3,848)
Felicity is not what she seems, sure she is a sweet, quirky, genius who can always be relied upon to help save the day but she is also more than that. She has lightning in her blood and more than one mighty protector in her corner. Takes place after both Heir to the Demon and the second avenger film. Now a collection of one shots.
 +Steve Rogers
I'll be your Soldier by Ellabee15 (Complete: 31/31| 54,121)
Felicity Smoak is kidnapped by the league of Assassins. Over the next 2 years a new Winter Soldier comes to the attention of Captain America. (This story begins at the beginning of season 3 in the Arrow timeline and after Captain America: The winter soldier in the Marvel universe.)
Rising Above The Ashes by Wally_Birb (wip: 9/?| 20,494)
When Felicity Smoak was 19, SHIELD forced her to join their ranks to work off the crimes that the people closest to her committed with her super virus. Also when she was 19, a kill order went out that forced three of SHIELD's top agents to defect so that she could escape with her life. No one knows why exactly the order went out, but years later the answer comes while Felicity is hacking investigating SHIELD.
Of course, knowing why it happened? Well that just puts more of a bounty on her head.
Some Good In This World (Worth Fighting For) by Wally_Birb (one-shot| 10,960)
Felicity blames Cisco, honestly. It's always Cisco's fault, so she figured that when she woke up in the 1940's after interrupting one of his experiments, it was a safe bet to think that it was all Cisco's fault.
His Best Girl by iluvaqt (Complete: 22/22| 100,696)
Felicity moves to New York after the Glades collapse. A chance run-in at the Buy More with Steve Rogers, changes her world and sets her on a path of discovery that has been kept secret since before she was born.
Because I'm Worth It by lateVMlover (Complete: 10/10| 34,455)
This is a crossover story that is set after season 2's Arrow finale. Felicity is Pepper's cousin and decides to go to New York to get away from her heartbreak from Oliver. This is NOT an Olicity story. It focuses on her meeting and falling for Captain America.
**This is followed by a few more installations  Black Meets Green  Protecting the Family  The Wedding ...Ya know, just in case you’re in need of a deeper look.
+Johnny Storm
Where there's Smoak there's Fire by Ellabee15 (Complete: 11/11| 14,043)
In the wake of Oliver's death Felicity is sent by Palmer Tech to oversee a deal with the Fantastic Four.
+Aquaman
Above | Beneath by Vixx2pointOh (Complete: 6/6|23,990)
He was from the lost world beneath.
She was from the dry land above.
Or at least that's what they thought...
Expectations by NellyHarrison (one-shot| 6,562)
The first time Felicity Smoak meets Arthur Curry does not go well, but as they continue to work together, and she continues to believe in his potential, their relationship evolves into something neither of them had expected.
