I Wish I Was the Moon
Fandom: Station 19
Pairing: Maya Bishop x fem!reader
Words: 9.7k+
Genre: Angst, Hurt & Comfort, Smut
Summary: Maya hit rock bottom and along the way she lost the most important thing to her. It wasn't captain, she realized that quickly into her downward spiral. No, it was you. She had to do something to fix this, but she knew it started with herself. Would Maya be able to fix herself in time to win you back? Would you ever be willing to give her just one more chance?
Warnings: Alcohol mention; toxic relationship-ish depiction; mental health and therapy is a big theme; fingering (r!receiving); top!Maya, bottom!r; nipple play; marking.
A/N: Okay, this isn't exactly the same as the prompt so bear with me... but it's really close. Also did I put my own twist on an existing scene? Yes, yes I did. Also, the fic is named after the song with the same name that gave me inspiration. It's by Ewan J Phillips. Maybe listen while you read!
Maya was doing better. She really was. It was the first time she could say that in months, maybe even years. She was working on herself, she was putting in the effort.
Therapy had a lot to do with this. From regular sessions came the ability to regulate her emotions when things felt too intense. It helped her process trauma, not just the trauma she experienced as an adult either, but childhood trauma too. It shocked her, how healing it could be to process everything. It was hard to really fully come to terms with all of it. Memories that she had hurt, but she didn’t have a word for why. Now it felt less painful since she finally understood herself and what had happened throughout her life.
Of course, therapy itself was something she was originally reluctant to do. It was something she was too headstrong to think she needed it, until she finally tried. She didn’t try for her though. No, if she was being honest, what got her to first make an appointment and then— after three cancellations —to finally show up, was you.
When you left, Maya told herself she didn’t need anyone, didn’t need you. That quickly became obvious to her that she was seriously lying to herself. You left because she pushed you away when she lost her position as captain. She became irritable when you asked for her to be more open. This irritability led to fights and fights led you to distance yourself from her eventually too. Then, after one night of fighting back and forth, you left to cool off. When you came back in, Maya rounded on you without skipping a beat. That was the last straw for you.
Maya still winced at the thought of the words that left her mouth that night. Accusing you of cheating, that the space you were taking was just to fuck someone new. She had thrown in your face that you two weren’t fucking, so it only made logical sense that you were out finding someone else. Of course, the words Maya used were more colorful.
She could still see the hurt in your eyes when she said them. She still remembered the way you didn’t yell back, instead you just stood utterly silent. The next thing she knew, you were packing up your things and officially moved out of her apartment.
The weeks to come, Maya didn’t run after you. She didn’t try to call or talk or anything. Maya had foolishly convinced herself that you needed her more than she needed you; that you’d be back. She wasn’t going to call first. You had to. But you didn’t and it made Maya spiral even more. Things got worse for her. At work it was a constant reminder of her loss of captain. At home, her apartment reminded her too much of her loss of you. So, she went out to bars in the evenings often. A little too often.
That drinking led to bad decisions. One particular night was definitely her rock bottom. She had decided to call you. Drunk off her ass and angry she was stumbling into a dark apartment without you had her thinking irrationally. Her hands moved before her mind really comprehend what she was doing. Maya saw your name on the screen and immediately hit call.
“You just gave up,” she slurred into the phone the minute she heard your tired, confused greeting from the other line. “How could you just give up?”
“M… Maya?” Your voice sounded exhausted. Somewhere in Maya’s drunken brain she knew she shouldn’t be calling you at 2AM, but at that moment she didn’t care.
“You left and now I come home to nothing,” Maya pressed. “I lost… I lost my dreams and then— then you left me. You gave up on us. What was it? Because you’re ashamed I got demoted?”
“Maya, I did not give up on us.” Your voice sounded clearer now and Maya’s mouth snapped shut at the frustration she heard on the other end of the line. “You pushed me away. You forced me to leave.”
“That- I-“ Maya was at a loss for words. The way you sounded, it wasn’t broken like Maya had thought, it wasn’t sad. It was angry. In those few words, drunk or not, Maya knew you were absolutely right.
A sigh came from the other end and Maya turned her attention to her phone again. “Look, Maya, are you okay? Are you home?” You didn’t have to be there to know she was very much not sober. She might have made the last few months with her hell, but you still cared. You couldn’t just easily erase the history you had with her or turn off your feelings.
“I’m… yes, I’m home.” Maya couldn’t think of anything else to say. Her hand dropped and her phone slid from her palm onto the couch. Her thumb tapped the screen to hang up and then she just sat there. Her mind spun from your words and from the alcohol. Even in her inebriated state, she knew from your tone of voice, just how hurt you were by her.
The day after was no easier. She had curled up on the couch that night, not bothering to change or move before she passed out. There was a small hope in her drunken mind that she would forget those devastating words you said, but of course she didn’t. They replayed in her mind from the moment she woke up and nursed her hangover to the minute she went to bed.
It was after that night that she decided to fix herself. You never called to follow up. Your silence was something that Maya knew she deserved, but still wished was otherwise. So, Maya became determined. She would fix this, but it started with her. No more drunken calls, no more lashing out. The next time she saw you, she’d prove she was a better version of herself, one that deserved your love again.
Logically, Maya realized this transformation wouldn’t happen over night. There were times where she wanted to be impatient and reach out. Her therapist worked with her on this though, advising her to wait until she was sure she was ready. Therapy helped her be honest with herself, and so many times she wanted to see you, but she knew she wasn’t ready.
Until she finally was. She had discussed this in detail with her therapist. There was a plan being made, one she was eager to implement. Months had gone by, so this wouldn’t be easy. But Maya had a newfound passion and knew that this new outlook, this better version of Maya, wasn’t complete until she had her love back in her arms.
So, she planned to show up at your door. Flowers in hand, ready to beg on her knees for you to hear her out for even just one minute. She knew she didn’t deserve that for what she put you through, but she was willing to try. She had to try. From the moment she met you, she felt like you and her were meant to be. When she finally was to enact her plan, it had to go well. But things really never are that simple.
Running into you totally disarmed her. You looked vibrant. The last time she saw you, like really saw you, you were just so… broken. She knew, deep down, that she did that to you. But now… Now you’re glowing, you’re thriving and it made her disgusted with herself. All these negative feelings that she had worked through for months suddenly bubbled to the surface the minute her eyes landed on your face.
There you were, on the other side of the cafe Maya had stopped at, smiling at someone she didn’t recognize. How much time really has passed? Maya knew it had been months, but she was trying not to dwell and count. Apparently enough time had passed for you to move on. At least that’s what it looked like. Obviously, you would move on from her. Maya knew, realistically, you had every right to move on, but she hoped you’d wait for her to right her wrongs. God how she hoped.
But clearly, you didn’t. Maya treated you like shit so you left. It made sense. You gave her chance after chance after chance, of course there would be a breaking point. Of course, there would be a process that Maya didn’t see where you would pick yourself up from the wreckage she left you in and find someone else who would give you all the things Maya promised. The reality of it was that Maya failed to follow through on every single thing she said to you. Well, all but one. She told you she would never stop loving you. This promise happened once on a night when she held you tight and was scared you’d slip through her fingers. She remembered the ways your breath hitched and your eyes shone as she looked down at your face in the moonlight and made that promise.
She remembered that promise so vividly. When the storm was coming down hard and you both listened with the window open, wrapped in each other’s arms. The setting was quiet, calming even despite the thunder booming outside. The feeling of you wrapped in her arms warmed her heart and she had never felt more complete than in that moment, so she said, “There’s never been someone I loved more completely than you.” You looked up at her with wide eyes filled with the most hopeful emotions. Then she followed “And I promise, that won’t ever change.” And it didn’t. Even if you didn’t look at her the same way, or at all now, she still loved you with her entire heart. Despite all the ugliness of your last few months together, it still was the truest feeling she’s ever had. Each night she laid down in an empty bed she ached for not just another body next to her, because that wouldn’t suffice. No, she ached for you and you alone.
When Maya saw you, you didn’t see her. She had decided she needed to get out of there as fast as possible. After her order had come out, she snatched her coffee as fast as she possibly could. Her head stayed turned from you as she made her way past your table and to the exit. Of course, she was trying so hard to avoid your gaze that she didn’t pay attention to where she was going.
She fully bumped into another random man, her coffee falling to the floor and spilling all over the place. Apology after apology flew from her lips as she still tried to keep her head down and clean up her mess. When she popped back up with a handful of coffee soaked napkins though, that’s when her eyes met yours.
You were shocked, staring back at her with eyes wide. “Maya?” Your voice was full of surprise and not resentment, which relieved Maya for a second. But then your eyes flicked to the confused person next to you and Maya’s eyes followed before landing back on your face.
The look you gave her next killed her. It was a look of guilt and pity. One that crushed Maya’s heart into a million pieces. So, she fled.
If you had followed her, Maya didn’t notice. She walked with as much speed as she could without breaking into a full blown sprint. Her eyes stung, but she refused to cry.
This whole encounter threw off everything for her. She had to rethink everything she planned. Was it still possible to win you back? Was it too late? Should she even try?
Those were all the questions she flung at her therapist the moment she sat down for her next session. What she was reminded of was that she had no answers for what was going on and who she saw with you. Therefore, she had no answers for the previous questions she posed.
The new plan was still to reach out, but be more casual about it. Ask for coffee and discuss all the ways you may have changed and how Maya had been doing. Focus on you first and then perhaps Maya can move onto her proposal to restart. This plan positioned herself so that she could learn who that person was and what the situation might be before putting her heart right on the line.
She wasn’t ready for all of that just yet though. There was a greater potential for rejection now. Maya told herself she was too scared to know the truth so she would wait a bit longer. Even if waiting was knowing she could possibly be pushing you closer to this mysterious person, she just couldn’t muster up the courage. But, much like the coffee shop incident, life had other plans.
In the months you two had been apart, Maya hadn’t run into you at all. Now, suddenly, she bumps into you two weeks in a row before she was really ready to. It was like some kind of cosmic cruel joke.
Again, when she saw you, she felt utterly disarmed. She was just trying to enjoy a nice run when she ran straight up to you. Not intentionally, of course, she was off in her own little world. Her mind was wrapped up in you, so to hear your voice say her name as she passed had her utterly freeze in shock.
“Hi…” Maya said hesitantly as she turned to see your face staring back at her. This time, thankfully, you appeared to be alone.
“Hi.” Your voice had just as much hesitation as hers. “How… um, how are you?”
“Good,” Maya nodded, trying to catch her breath and calm her heart rate. She didn’t think it was the run that was elevating it. “Yeah, I’m good.” And it was true to an extent, even if she was internally panicking.
She hadn’t thought it would go this awkward. Maybe it was naive, but she assumed everything would just… click when she was one-on-one with you again. But instead, you were anxious and she was tense.
Maya took a deep breath, remembering the exercises given to her in her sessions. It helped ground her and get her bearings. “How are you?” Maya finally managed to ask after a long, awkward pause.
“I’m okay.” If there was one thing Maya knew, it was how to read your eyes. Your tone sounded fine, but that answer didn’t reach your eyes. In fact, as Maya looked on at your face, she thought you looked tired. Maybe even quite a bit sad. She wondered if she read you wrong at the coffee shop. If maybe you weren’t as happy as you seemed. Did your smile reach your eyes that day? Maya was too taken aback by suddenly seeing you that she didn’t pay much attention then.
“Yeah?” Maya questioned.
You nodded and for a moment that awkward pause was back. “Maya, about the other day…” you finally broke the silence.
“You don’t need to explain.”
“Yeah, but— I don’t know, I feel like I should.” Your voice got quieter as you spoke and Maya shook her head. She offered you a sad smile and more guilt washed over you.
“You don’t owe me an explanation.” Maya honestly hoped you wouldn’t give one. Not yet, she still wasn’t ready to hear it yet. “It’s okay really.”
But then, as you both stood, shuffling awkwardly and trying to find the right words, or any words for that matter, Maya felt the nagging curiosity bubble up in her. Maybe if she did ask, it would be better now than later. She could rip off the bandaid. She didn’t want details, but she just wanted to know. It could determine if there was hope. If she had a reason to hold on to it; to you. So, she asked the scariest, but most simple question to end this internal debate that she could think of.
“Is it serious?” Maya tried to play it off as a casual question, but deep down the answer you would give her would hold an important weight in her heart that you were entirely unaware of.
“No,” you gave her a small, sad smile. “We just met that day.”
Maya couldn’t help herself, she really couldn’t. She had to know. As much as your answers could rip her heart right out, she just had to. “Has there been anyone serious?”
“No, Maya,” you sighed. It wasn’t a sigh of frustration, but one that sounded just so disheartening to Maya’s ears. “Not since…”
“Me,” Maya finished.
You just nodded in a response. The look on your face said it all. The pain was still right there on the surface. There’s a discomfort between you two. Things were still broken. Of course they would be, Maya thought. It’s not like you two tried to talk after you walked out. She just let you walk away and she was sure you probably held that against her even today. You two didn’t try to be friends, you didn’t try to be anything after it all went down. It was just radio silence apart from that drunken night. But Maya could feel that there was still so much left unsaid. It wasn’t just her that wanted to talk, but she could see in your eyes that you did too. If you didn’t, you could’ve just walked on. Yet, you stayed. It was awkward and public, but you still stood in front of her, shuffling your feet, as you waited for more words to come. So a talk was definitely necessary and obviously overdue. The question is, would you be willing to actually sit down and talk with her?
She had to try, right? You were, well, you. The person on Maya’s mind every single day even if you weren’t currently in her life. Her greatest love that still held all of her heart. She had to try.
“Could we… I don’t know.” Maya was really struggling to get these words out there. No matter how many times she practiced this in her head after running into you, doing it was harder. She had to be brave though. She knew this moment wouldn’t come again for a long time. It had been so long since she saw you. Last week didn’t count, this meeting was different; face-to-face. A rare coincidence that suddenly presented her with so many options. What would happen if she let this chance pass her by? When would it come next? Would that girl you were with still be nothing serious? Maya couldn’t risk that. “Could we maybe grab dinner sometime?”
“Why?” It wasn’t a harsh question. You weren’t being defensive when you asked, but you were being cautious. Maya understood that and honestly she appreciated it even. But the question still took her aback.
“I just- I think we should talk.” Maya searched your eyes for any type of negativity to her request. She was really putting herself on the line. Not just with asking you to talk, but actually telling you that she was willing to. And talk she would. She would say everything that was left unsaid and she would let you say what you needed to say too of course. Maya could show you that she’s different, that she’s better, that she changed. Maybe then you’d give her just one last chance. She had no right to ask you for any more, not when so much time had passed. But god fucking dammit she wanted you back so badly.
“I’ve been seeing a therapist and working on myself,” Maya continued. “I just want the chance to— to show you how far I’ve come.” The mention of therapy shocked you. It was something you asked her to consider, but all you were met with was a scoff. As your eyes searched Maya’s face, you realized how sincere she was. She seemed to be very honest about her claims.
You wished you could relate. That you could say you worked on yourself in the time you two were apart. Truthfully, when Maya saw you it was the first time you decided to stop drowning in your heartbreak and find someone new. The sight of Maya that day had ruined that resolve.
Secretly, after that day, you hoped to see her again. Part of you wished she would call, but she didn’t. If you called, you felt like that was betraying every promise you made to yourself after leaving her. She needed to change to make it work, to stop hurting you, but you were scared she wasn’t capable of that.
So, you didn’t call. But when you saw her running towards you, on a route you knew she took, you couldn’t stop yourself from stopping her. Part of you still felt shocked to see her again, but really it was you lying to yourself. There was a strong chance you’d see her, and you knew that. You told yourself you needed the walk for fresh air, but there was more to it. The need to just talk to her, for even a moment, was too great. You wanted to know how she was doing, if she was okay. That drunken call still ran through your head and made you sick with worry.
When you saw her at the cafe, though, you thought she looked good. There was an inkling of hope, which is why you found yourself here trying to “accidentally” bump into her. And it all played out how you wanted.
But then she wanted dinner and to actually talk and you realized you were playing a dangerous game. If she hurt you all over again, honestly you didn’t think you could survive it. All you’ve done for months is lay in an unfamiliar, empty apartment you managed to find when you left. It didn’t feel like home, it felt depressing. You were sufficating in your heartbreak and just starting to pick up the pieces. If she was lying to get you back, only to treat you so badly again, it would destroy you for good this time.
“I don’t know…” Your eyes fell as you tried to find the right words to let her down.
“Just one dinner and then, if you want, you never have to hear from me again.” Maya’s plea had squeezed at your heart. The moment you made the mistake of looking back up at her, your resolve broke. She was so hopeful and yet so scared at the same time. “Just one dinner,” She repeated and you shocked yourself when you nodded in agreement.
“One,” you whispered.
“Good.” Maya’s smile was hesitant, but her eyes sparkled as she realized you were giving her a chance. Maybe it wasn’t a chance to get back together and make up for all the pain Maya caused, but it was a start. “This weekend, let’s go to that Italian restaurant… the one you love so much.”
You knew the exact one. Maya wasn’t subtle. It was your first date, which is possibly why it was your favorite place. It was romantic and intimate. A good place to talk, but also a good place to get lost in Maya’s presence and lose your resolve even more.
Still you couldn’t help but agree. “I’ll meet you there.” You knew if you drove there at least you wouldn’t be going home with her even if you wanted to. Maya nodded, giving you her most charming smile that used to make you swoon. It still did, if you were being completely honest.
Your smile was nervous as you returned it, but still there was a flutter in your stomach that you hadn’t felt in a long time. The last time was before Maya got demoted, when that bright smile was turned your way almost every day. Seeing it again, you didn’t realize how much you missed it.
Both of you parted after a moment. Maya’s jog continued but this time instead of spiraling in anxiety about potentially losing you forever, she was happy. Her plan was to talk, really it was, but as she ran her mind daydreamed about all the romantic possibilities that could happen after.
You, on the other hand, were preoccupied with very different thoughts. Ones of re-lived heartbreak and broken promises. The rest of that evening you spent spiraling and consumed in regret and fear of the what ifs.
---------------------------------------------
The weekend came faster than you expected it to. In the days that followed your last encounter with Maya, your mind was fixated on so many worst case scenarios. Maya, on the other hand, was the exact opposite.
She was nervous, sure, but she was also confident. She had her foot back in the door, she could try to convince you that she had changed. Logically, she knew jumping back into it all with you would be nearly impossible. It wasn’t like she wasn’t ready for that or for you. She knew she was ready to have it all with you, to have you back home and in the bed you once shared with her. It was all she wanted now. Screw captain, she had dropped the fantasy of getting it back somewhere in the second month of regular therapy sessions. Recently, it had even been reoffered to her and it was just as much of a shock to the station as it was to herself when she rejected the opportunity to snatch the position again.
Somewhere in the process of self improvement, she realized that wasn’t actually what she wanted. What she did want was her life back. That wasn’t possible, she decided, without you. But, not only did she want her life back, she wanted it to be better. For you. It’s what you deserved and she realized that now. She had taken you for granted and she was going to spend the rest of her life making it up to you if you’d let her.
That was another thing. Part of her plan was ambitious. She had wanted to eventually prove her dedication to you with a ring she had long hidden in the drawer next to her side of the bed, waiting for just the right chance. This was part of her plan that she had in mind before she saw you on that coffee date and if she was being honest, it was a part she tried to let go of again before she saw you on her run. When she saw you at the coffee shop, she had tried to calm herself, realizing the minute she felt ready that she was getting a little too excited. She had expected you to be hesitant, mad even, but she had held onto this naive idea that you were waiting for her to better herself.
Even if she tried to calm herself down and not get her hopes up, she couldn’t help it. The closer she got to Saturday the more hopeful she got. Her mind wandered to the daydreams she used to have about a future with you, a wedding, a house… All those big things. There were butterflies in her stomach that she hadn’t felt since she got demoted. It really felt like everything was coming together for her.
That is, until about two hours before you both had agreed to meet.
While she was eagerly getting dressed in the nicest possible outfit, you were sitting frozen on your bed, staring at the clock tick away closer and closer to when it was time to see her. Your mind was running in circles about how you were setting yourself up to get hurt again, how you were going along with this all too easily. It was a big step to see Maya and who’s to say she really has changed? Or what if she has changed, but would stop working on herself the minute she had you back? She could lean on you, sure, you were always there to support her, but you didn’t want to be her emotional punching bag again. You didn’t want the cold shoulder when she came home, the accusations, the walking on eggshells. You didn’t know what was worse, living with a shell of the woman you loved or being without her completely. But as these months went on, and that emptiness sunk in, you had gotten used to it. Maybe it was better than the constant pain, rejection, and resentment Maya had directed towards you? Or maybe you just got comfortable in it?
Either way you were scared, so you made a choice. It was one solely made out of fear, one that you chose without truly thinking over it in a logical way. You sent a text on impulse.
Maya saw her phone light up as she was out already, trying to pick up a few of your favorite things before the date really started. With your favorite flowers in hand, she opened the text and her stomach dropped.
I can’t see you tonight. I’m sorry.
That was all you gave her and honestly, Maya understood. She really did, but she was still crushed.
The flowers she had in her hand were left forgotten on the cashier counter as she just walked straight out the door.
The minute you sent that text your heart sank. You saw the three dots on the text thread start for a moment and then nothing. There was no reply, all it said was that it was read about a minute after you had sent it. You fell back on the bed, regretting the decision almost immediately and knowing just how much that had to hurt Maya. But it was for the best, right? That’s what you were telling yourself. It would save you both pain in the long run. It would save her from seeing you leave again, seeing you not be strong enough to stay by her side when she’s going through the worst of it.
The guilt was killing you.
Eventually, about three hours later and what would’ve been an hour into the dinner you were supposed to have, you got tired of wallowing. You needed to eat, you didn’t have the emotional energy to cook, and maybe it would be good to get yourself up and moving. That way you couldn’t break your resolve, which for three hours had been seriously slipping. You lost count of the amount of times you typed and deleted an apology text to send to her. Of course, none of them got sent. If you sent one then there would be a possibility to reschedule and that reschedule would lead to all these feelings again. You couldn’t do that and you couldn’t put Maya through that.
So, by some miracle, you got yourself back out of bed. You walked, on autopilot, to your favorite pizza place to get some food. Honestly, you were probably quite the sight. You didn’t bother to do much other than get dressed in a comfortable t-shirt and jeans. There were probably still tear stains on your cheeks from how overwhelmed you felt by your emotions over tonight and your hair was definitely a mess, considering you buried yourself between two pillows and willed yourself to sleep off the horrible feelings. Sleep never came, so here you were.
As you made your way into the restaurant and got in line to order, you really didn’t pay much attention to your surroundings. So, when you completely missed Ben Warren with his family sitting at a table, it was only understandable to take no notice. But he definitely saw you.
His head perked up and his eyebrows arched high in surprise. Maya had been talking all week about tonight, so to see you here and also in such a state of dishevelment was really shocking. But then he put the pieces together. You looked rough, but he didn’t think it was because of your interaction with Maya.
What he should’ve done was mind his own business, but he had a soft spot for you and Maya and once he saw how dead on your feet you looked, he couldn’t stop himself. With determination, while you remained completely oblivious to his presence, he walked up behind you and cautiously tapped your shoulder.
You turned slowly, not really thinking about who was behind you or what they could want. The emotional exhaustion was too strong for you to honestly care much about anything. You really just wanted to get food and go. Even then, you weren’t sure you were going to eat it. At least you’d try though.
Then, as you turned and realized who it was, that’s when you jumped out of your skin. This was the last thing you wanted– Well, maybe not the last thing since it wasn’t actually Maya who was standing in front of you– But still, seeing someone she worked with was not much better. God, you hoped he didn’t know that you had plans with Maya. If he did, then it would be very obvious that you blew her off. He was her friend before he was yours. In fact, you weren’t sure if he really was your friend. Ben was kind and caring of course, but he was like that with everyone.
The last thing you wanted was for him to look at you with any sort of disappointment or disapproval. What if his reaction was worse? That kind and welcoming side you had learned to associate with Warren could go away completely if he knew where you were supposed to be tonight. You really couldn’t get chewed out by him for hurting his friend. That wasn’t something you had the emotional capacity for tonight. Surely, Maya didn’t tell everyone. She wouldn’t, right? Thinking back to the dynamic you witnessed between her and her station and how everyone was a big family… the odds weren’t in your favor.
“What are you doing here?” Warren’s question was gentle, he waited to ask when the shock of seeing him finally washed from your face and was replaced with one of hesitation. He didn’t seem mad and, in fact, it was almost like he already knew the answer, but your heart still sank when you heard the question either way. “Aren’t you supposed to be meeting with Maya? It’s all she’s talked about this week.”
So he did know. Of course, he knew. “Warren, hi… I- she told you about it?”
“It’s all she’s been talking about,” he said with no hint of humor in his voice. You swallowed hard at the look on his face. Not disapproving, but still serious.
“I- I couldn’t go,” you stammered. “It didn’t seem like a good idea. She said she changed— I don’t know. Look I should go.” You took a step back and your eyes darted to the exit. It was a bad idea to come out, you were seriously regretting that now. Food be damned, all you wanted to do was crawl back into bed.
Seeing as Warren didn’t seem to want to stop you, you turned to leave. Even if you came here to get your comfort food before you spent the night, yet again, wallowing in heartbreak, your appetite was gone. Plus, you couldn’t stand the way he looked at you right now, the guilt of it was making you feel nauseous.
“She gave up captain.” Warren’s voice stopped you dead in your tracks.
“What did you say…” Your question trailed off as you turned to him again.
“She gave up captain for you.” He repeated. What he said was something Maya didn’t even plan to tell you, not yet anyways. It was the last part of her process before she realized she was ready to try again with you, ready to show you she was better. And it was also the one thing you never thought you’d hear, one Maya knew would shock you to your core. She didn’t want you to know until she actually had you in her arms again, lest you think it was a tactic to get you back the easy way without even proving herself first. But, as Warren stood and saw how terrified you clearly were to jump into things with Maya again, he knew he had to nudge.
“Warren…” It felt like the wind got knocked out of you. “That can’t be true. She wants that more than anything.”
“No,” Warren shook his head. “There’s something she wants more.” His face said it all, he didn’t have to tell you what that thing was. It was so clearly you.
You were at a loss for words. Your heart was beating faster by the second as realization washed over you.
“I suggest,” Warren’s voice was gentle now, “ you go see her. Tonight.”
You nodded, your feet backing away from the man yet again, but this time when you turned for the door it was for a different reason.
A million questions ran through your mind and you felt even worse about canceling on her now. You should’ve given her a chance to talk. You should’ve heard her out. If what he was saying was true then it changed everything. There was nothing bigger than the claim he just made. Warren didn’t lie either, you knew he was a trustworthy man. So you knew, deep down, the claim was true.
Your feet carried you home faster than you thought capable. It was like your body was on autopilot while your mind raced. You stopped to grab your car keys before peeling out of your apartment parking lot and speeding towards your destination. You knew exactly where you wanted to go before you even really processed that you were already heading that way. It was rash. You had just spent the whole week worrying about being close to Maya again, hearing Maya out, opening yourself up to heartbreak. Now, though, everything was different. Now, you were suddenly ready to throw caution to the wind.
Ben said the exact words you needed to hear to let go of any of your hesitations. Yes, you should’ve heard Maya out and yes, what you did wasn’t the best. But you were going to listen now, or try to. Even if your mind was in a million places at once, the only thing you knew was that you needed to see her.
So when you found yourself at her apartment, you didn’t think to text or call her to warn her you were coming or to tell her you were there even when you slammed the car door and rushed to her unit. There was no hesitancy in the way you went straight to her door and knocked profusely.
You definitely seemed like a crazy person, but you didn’t really care at that moment. Did you have a plan? No, but all you knew was that you needed to make this right. You’d hear her out, you’d listen for hours, you’d do whatever it took later. But as you waited anxiously for her to come to the door, this feeling inside you grew. It was one that told you to just fling yourself into her arms. Warren gave you all the reason you needed for you to let go of your trepidations. So if you could get her to open the door for you, you might just do exactly that.
Finally, the door swings open and Maya’s irritated face twisted into utter shock the moment she saw you on the other side. It was almost comical to see just how flabbergasted she was. But then, as you took her appearance in, you realized she was probably wallowing in the same way you were the moment she read your text.
“(Y/N), hi what are you-”
“I have some stuff to say and I need you to just listen.” You interrupted her. She nodded immediately and stepped aside to let you in. You walked right past her and into the middle of her apartment. An apartment you used to share. The strangeness of being back here settled in your stomach like a storm and it just added so much more to your anxiety and confusion. Again, you really didn’t have much of a plan as to what was to come next. You should talk, you really should talk, but also you didn’t want to talk you just wanted… her.
Maya walked in behind you and waited. You paced back and forth in front of her. With each step you took both yours and her anxiety was rising. She had no idea what you were going to say or if it was going to break her heart into tiny pieces. She was already hurting from your actions earlier today. The last thing she expected was to see you show up at her doorstep. This could go either way. But honestly, she was gearing up more for you to say you never wanted to see her again rather than say anything good. But she hoped beyond hope that she was wrong to prepare for that.
Your mind was racing and your heart was pounding in your chest. Ever since you let Maya back into your life (if you could even count the encounters you had as that), you were so afraid of her and the hurt she could possibly bring on top of the hurt you were already feeling from what happened before. But now you get this news? That the one thing she wanted more than anything in the world was offered to her and she said no. That one thing she wanted so badly it broke the both of you was no longer the thing she wanted and it felt like you were living in another reality. How were you supposed to react when Ben, the most honest man you knew, looks you in the eye and says it was you that she wanted most of all now? What do you say to him or, even more importantly, to her after learning that fact?
“We have a lot to talk about,” You were repeating yourself, but it was all you could think of to break the silence.
“I know,” Maya nodded as she watched you pace the room.
“And a lot to work through.”
“I know,” she repeated.
“With this dinner was I… Was this your way of getting things back to the way they were?”
“No,” she shook her head. “Not how they were. A new start.”
“Maya, I- I’m still hurt. You hurt me and I haven’t healed all the way yet. It’s not that easy.”
“I know,” Maya hung her head. “I know, I hurt you. And I know it’s not that easy.”
“But even then… even…” Your words were escaping you and the battle in your mind was fizzling out to just one thing. You were so fucking tired. Tired of hurting from Maya. Tired of working through all of this and “staying strong” whatever the fuck that meant. Fuck sticking with your decision and standing your ground. Fuck being apart from the only woman you think you ever truly loved and would ever love. Fuck all of that. “Even after everything, even after months have passed… God, Maya can you just be kissing me now? Please?”
It didn’t even take Maya two seconds to process your words. In two quick strides she was in front of you, with her hands on either side of your face, pulling you in. It felt like a hurricane of emotions exploding inside you the minute her lips crashed into yours. But god was it just so… so everything. It was painful, it was incredible, it was messy, it was earth shattering. The way she was pressing her lips to yours with so much need, so much love, and so much desperation. And you met every emotion she was giving you into that kiss with your own tenfold. God, this was all you both wanted.
Maya felt like she was about to explode with joy. She knew there was work to be done, she knew you were hurt and the both of you were still broken, but finally there was hope. When she asked you to dinner, never in her wildest dreams did she think this would be happening right now. Especially after the text she received. But this. This moment right here was a sign that those pieces she broke back then could start being put together and that was all she had hoped for the minute you walked out the door. She was going to do everything she possibly could to fix what you two had.
Your hands moved to tangle into Maya’s hair and hers moved to wrap around your waist and pull your body to press against hers. The kiss grew more and more heated with every passing second. It was like you had been starving for her and now finally you got to have a taste again, but it was going to take so much more to satiate you. Maya was in the same boat.
In the back of your mind, you thought maybe you should stop at kissing her and start talking at some point, but then your back hit the wall and Maya’s hands were dipping under your shirt and scratching at your sides. The way she was pressing herself so completely into your body, while also pulling you impossibly closer had your head swimming. A small moan fell from her lips as she kissed you harder and any thought of stopping was totally gone. The overwhelming need to be even closer (if that was possible at this point) overtook you. Plus, you didn’t want to go another night without having her next to you. The thought of going back to your empty apartment, falling asleep alone in bed, without her strong arms around you was the last thing you wanted. Tonight, you wanted Maya and you weren’t going to deny yourself of that any longer.
You were melting into her, your hands gripping at her back desperately as she kissed you with everything she had. The way your tongue ran over hers had both of you groaning against each other’s lips. Maya too thought maybe she should take it slow. Her reasoning was that she was worried she’d scare you off, but then you held her tighter and let her kiss you deeper and she knew that she couldn’t hold back. She’d only stop if you told her to stop, otherwise she was going to finally indulge.
Eventually, Maya’s hands gripped tightly at your waist and she pulled you to walk backwards into the bedroom with her. Not once did she break the kiss and with each step you took with her, she just felt more eager to have you completely again. When both of you crossed the threshold, her hands were immediately tearing at your clothes. Both of you only broke the kiss for her to remove your shirt and bra and then her own, before you both leaned back in.
This time, when she kissed you, she slowed a little. Her tongue licked into your mouth and your nails dug into her bare shoulders. Her hands trailed down your stomach until they reached your jeans. She slipped her fingers into your belt loops and, in one swift move, she had you turned around until your knees hit the edge of the bed and you fell backwards.
You landed with an umph but she didn’t seem to mind, neither did you. She followed you down with her knees resting on the mattress on either side of your hips to hold herself up. Her lips moved from yours to lick and nip down your neck. You were breathing hard and small whines were falling freely from you now.
All the while, Maya was in a state of disbelief. This all felt too good to be true, but then here you were. In her hands, on her bed, laying right beneath her. The very thought of it all just made Maya’s need for you rise.
Her teeth sank into the tender flesh between your neck and collarbone a little harder than she had been nipping at you before. A loud gasp filled the room, but quickly turned into a desperate moan as her tongue ran over the bite mark she left behind.
Usually, when you two were together before, you would complain about her leaving marks and the efforts you’d have to take to hide them the next day. This time was different, though. You didn’t mind her doing it, in fact you wanted her to. In a weird way it was a reminder that Maya seemed to have changed and that she was here with you tonight. So if anything happened after this encounter, at least you had this moment with her. This moment of completely throwing caution to the wind and letting Maya have you completely as she once did.
Maya’s hands tugged at your jeans as her lips and tongue made their way down to your chest. When she lowered her head past your neck, she was finally met with the sight of your perfect bare chest. When Maya had managed to rip off your jeans and toss them somewhere, one hand shot right up to palm at your breast while the other pushed your thigh until you had no choice but to spread your legs and let Maya adjust to kneel between them.
With the way Maya was palming at one nipple, rolling it between her fingers and teasing you, your head was swimming. Then, she took your other in her mouth and your own hand flew to her hair, pressing her closer to your bare breast as she lightly sucked and nipped at it.
Your head had already fallen back onto the pillow, your body already overwhelmed by all the things Maya was doing to it. It was like she never missed a beat. She knew what you liked, she remembered every sensitive spot, every way and place to touch that drove you crazy. When her fingers finally left your inner thigh and moved between your legs to just barely trace the outside of your folds, you couldn’t stop the whimper.
That was one thing about you and Maya. The sex was always amazing because she always paid attention to your body. But she also loved to draw things out, which is exactly what it seemed like she was doing tonight. The way she continued to pay attention to your breasts while just barely ghosting the tips of her fingers over your clit was her way of taking her time. It was also driving you crazy. You didn’t think tonight, of all nights, you could let this be drawn out.
It had been months since you left Maya and even longer since she actually touched you like this. Drawing it out was torture for you. Even though Maya was enjoying this, enjoy your body, she still knew you well. She didn’t miss the frustrated huff when she only traced your entrance but didn’t do much else. She heard the pleading whimpers when her fingers rubbed lazy circles against your clit. As much as she wanted to take her time and absorb every little detail about your body, she wanted to fulfill your needs first.
So, when she entered you with two fingers without warning, the way you gasped out her name felt like the most rewarding sound Maya had ever heard. You still had one hand tangled into her hair and the other moved to wrap around her back as she began to move her fingers inside you.
Maya managed to position herself in a way that whenever she entered her fingers into you, she put her whole body behind it. She rocked into you with each time her fingers pumped inside you. The whole bed creaked and groaned as she continued to fuck you at a steady, but strong pace.
As her pace sped up, Maya buried her head into your neck. Her emotions were high right now. To be with you like this again finally was everything to her. The way you held onto her, the way you felt around her fingers, the way you were about to fall apart at any second because of her— it was so beautiful to her. Tears pricked at her eyes, but she ignored them, knowing they were just a result of how happy she finally was. Her lips reattached to your neck, leaving marks on your skin as you turned your head into the pillow and gave her more access.
When her fingers curled inside you and you cried out her name again, she groaned into your neck. Her free hand moved to grab one of yours and entangle your fingers as she started to pump the two inside you even harder. At this point, she knew you were close. She could feel you tighten around her fingers.
By now all you were doing was moaning her name. Every part of you was overwhelmed by Maya and the intensity was nothing you had experienced before. To go so long without the woman you loved, to not know if you’d ever have her again, made this experience so much more intense.
Your body shook as Maya continued to press her fingers against just the right spot inside you. The hand that was now in yours held tighter and you squeezed back as your body started to approach that edge.
White hot pleasure burst through your whole body finally and you felt yourself tighten even more around the fingers inside you. You let out a pathetic whimper of Maya’s name as you came. She kissed at your neck and your face, murmuring different things about how good you were, how beautiful you looked, and other praises.
Your body relaxed underneath her finally and she slowly and carefully slid her fingers out of you. Maya’s body rested more fully on top of yours once she had and you still struggled to regulate your heartbeat.
A hand came to press against your cheek and Maya leaned up slightly to look at you. You were still panting a little from the intensity of the orgasm, but you managed to focus your eyes and look back. The expression you saw from her took your breath away. Never had you seen her so happy, so radiant in all the time you’ve known Maya. She was smiling down at you with the softest, but most genuine smile you’ve ever seen. Her eyes shined as she stared back at yours and all you could read in them was admiration and happiness.
She leaned down then, her lips pressing against yours in the most gentle kiss. Your eyes fluttered closed and you leaned up into it, overtaken by the softness that Maya was displaying.
“I know we need to talk,” Maya whispered when she pulled away. “But would you stay the night, please?” You nodded and Maya’s smile only got brighter. “I just want to hold you for the rest of the night. Is that okay?”
“I’d like that,” you managed to say, your voice still rough from the intensity of the events just moments ago.
“Good,” Maya sighed happily. She adjusted then, rolling off you and shimmying out of the rest of her clothes. Then she settled beside you, pulling you into her strong arms where you adjusted until you felt comfortable. There was so much intimacy in this moment, your bare bodies pressed to each other and your head on her chest so close you could hear the beat of her heart. Before you left, before Maya lost captain even, this kind of intimacy was hard for Maya to express. You had learned and accepted that it was a feeling that would come when it did, and that was rare.
But tonight, as Maya’s fingers raked gently through your hair, it felt so natural and easy for her. There didn’t seem to be any difficulty in the affection Maya was showing and your heart skipped a beat as you realized just how much truth she had spoken when she said she changed.
You felt content in this moment, like everything would be okay. No matter what all you had to talk through, no matter the work that still needed to be done, things between you two would be okay. You were right where you were supposed to be and both of you felt that sentiment now more than either of you ever had.
“Maya,” you whispered into the peaceful silence the room had fallen into. “I love you. I never stopped loving you.” Those words had so much emotion, they held so much promise in them, and you hoped Maya understood all of it in the conviction you put behind them.
Maya’s hand paused in your hair for a moment, but you felt the arm around you tighten and pull you closer. “I love you too,” Maya finally said, clearing her throat to avoid the obvious signs of tears that threatened to spill. “I will always love you with everything I have, if you let me. I promise you that.”
It was a new promise that Maya was making to you. What felt like so long ago Maya had held you and said she never loved anyone more completely than you and promised that never would change. Now she is promising you that she will give her all to loving you and being the partner you need. Maya has broken promises, she’s let you down and hurt you in the past. It’s what broke the both of you before. But as you took in her words, you knew, just as she held onto the one promise, she’d hold onto this one as well.
There was healing to do, but Maya was ready to rebuild with you if you’d let her. And as you pulled yourself closer into her body and pressed a kiss over her heart, she knew you were all in to rebuild with her too.

Jin bts sneezing
Took me a minute to put something together, and I hope you're down for fluff.
Quiet Time
Fandom: BTS
Sickie: Seokjin
Caregiver(s): Namjoon
Word Count: 1,622
Namjoon was used to a hive of activity in the dorm. With seven of them sharing the space, there was always something happening: video game tournaments, anime marathons, spur of the moment games invented on the spot that always involved a lot of excited yelling. The dorm was rarely a quiet space, unless a majority of the members were sleeping, or if Yoongi was writing, (which he rarely did seriously at home, but still, if the thunderbolt of inspiration struck, they had to listen to it.)
So when the boys had been blessed with a rare Friday afternoon off, Namjoon silently begged the universe for a chance for some quiet. The group already had the weekend free from schedules, so the extra few hours were an unexpected treat. Namjoon loved his members, loved their hysterical shenanigans, and loved being at the very center of much of that chaos. But he also loved his quiet time, his space to recenter and recharge.
And the universe seemed to have heard him. Jungkook suggested they all go and see a movie, something they hadn’t been able to do in a while, and Jimin and Taehyung had quickly agreed. Yoongi, however, opted to spend a few hours in his studio, finishing up a project so he could have the next two days entirely to himself. This shattered the hope of a group movie, but also softened the blow when Seokjin announced he planned to stay home and sleep off the cold that had held him hostage all week. Hoseok had then announced he would join the moviegoers and take them out of ice cream after, much to the delight of the younger members. Namjoon smiled to himself, watching his hyungs work their magic: Yoongi giving Jin the out to stay home and Hoseok swooping in to distract both the eldest and the maknaes from the disappointment of that choice. It was a maneuver he’d seen the three of them enact time and time again to get one another, (as well as the rest of the members, including Namjoon himself), the break they needed when social pressures called.
For his part, Namjoon had not verbally committed to any sort of plans, but it had been assumed he was in for the movie. When it was time to leave, however, he made the excuse that he had just gotten to the point of no return in his book while the rest of the members were getting ready, and he had decided to just stay and finish that instead. Besides, he’d argued, someone should stay home just in case Seokjin took a turn for the worse. That swiftly ended any attempts from Jungkook and Jimin to convince him to go out, and Hoseok shepherded them out the door, blowing a kiss back to Namjoon as he closed the door behind him. As their voices faded down the hallway, the dorm fell silent.
Perfect.
Namjoon had been reading on the couch ever since. And while he stopped reading when he heard the footsteps in the hallway, Namjoon didn’t look up from his book. He did quickly glance at his watch, noting that it had only been half an hour since the other members had left, marking an hour and a half since they’d gotten home. Meaning Seokjin wouldn’t be too out of it when he rounded that corner from the hallway.
Namjoon wanted to play this casual; when Jimin so sweetly asked if Jin didn’t want them all to postpone their movie adventure until he was able to go with them, Seokjin had very sternly told them all to go out without him, to enjoy their weekend off and not worry about him. Namjoon had, clearly, not listened to a word of that.
Sure enough, when Seokjin entered the room, the first thing he saw was Namjoon. Despite his sleepy appearance, (all wrinkled hoodie and pajama pants, hair askew), his eyes immediately narrowed. The impact of his glare was, however, immediately interrupted when he bent to the waist by two uncharacteristically violent sneezes, “H’tschue! HA’schue!”
“Bless you.”
“What’re you doin’ here?” Seokjin muttered, rubbing at his eyes under his glasses before squinting at Namjoon again, checking he wasn’t just seeing things.
Namjoon held up his book. “Reading.”
Seokjin shook his head, lips pouting. “No, no.” He cleared his throat, wincing slightly. “You’re supposed to be at the movies. With Kook and the rest.”
Namjoon shrugged. “I wanted to stay here.”
“I told you not to stay back for me.”
“Who said I did?” Jin simply narrowed his eyes at him, unconvinced. Namjoon’s smile didn’t falter as he patted the couch next to him. Despite the frown still on his face, Seokjin didn’t hesitate to slump into the offered seat, head falling against Namjoon’s shoulder. The leader sighed as his hand tangled in Jin’s hair and the older man instinctively wrapped his arms around his friend’s abdomen. Their movements were practiced, sliding effortlessly into an embrace built on years of carrying each other through the churning sea of life. They sat like that, just taking in each other’s presence, while Namjoon finished his chapter.
“How are you?” Namjoon asked into the comfortable silence as he slid his book mark between the pages.
Seokjin shrugged. “I’m tired,” he answered honestly. “It’s been a long week.”
Namjoon scoffed. “You’re telling me. And I wasn’t even sick.” He didn’t need to be looking at Jin to see how dramatically he rolled his eyes.
“You’re all acting like I have the plague,” he griped. “I’m literally fine. They call it the common cold for a reason.”
“I vividly remember you saying otherwise to Tae last month. Something about how ‘just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s not a big deal.’”
That earned him a not-so-gentle jab in the side. Namjoon squawked in shock more than pain, quickly dissolving into laughter. “First of all, rude. Second, that was entirely different. Taehyung was much sicker than I am now, and we were filming outside, in a rainstorm.”
Namjoon chuckled again. “How was the nap?”
“I’ve barely slept.”
“Are you serious?!” Namjoon lurched away, turning his body so he was facing Seokjin instead. The older man frowned at the loss of contact. “Why not?” When he opened his mouth to reply, Jin immediately held up a finger before burying his face in his sleeve and sneezing three times. “Okay, so that.”
“Yeah, that.” He sniffled, coughing before dropping his arm back to his side. He sighed, shoulders caving forward. “But also when I lay down, everything in my head just feels like concrete and I can’t breathe and then I start coughing and just… sleep is hard without drugs. And it isn’t doctor recommended I take more of those for another two hours.” He rubbed at the bridge of his nose, pinching the space between his eyes, sniffling again.
Namjoon pouted, wheels turning in his brain. “Are you comfy here?”
Seokjin craned his neck just enough for their eyes to meet. “Always.”
“Then go to sleep.” It was Jin’s turn to pout at him. Namjoon shrugged his unoccupied shoulder, tossing his book onto the coffee table. “If being vertical like this helps you breathe easier, then use me as your pillow.”
“Joonie, I’m not trapping you on the couch.”
“You’re doing nothing of the sort.” Namjoon grabbed the remote from the side table and clicked on the TV. “I’ve got some shows I’ve been meaning to catch up on. You’re actually doing me a favor.”
As he navigated to said shows, Seokjin considered the offer. Catching a few extra hours of sleep had been one of the goals of their half day, and if the normal methods of ‘lay down, conk out’ wasn’t working, why not sleep here, curled up with his best friend? Truth be told, this position propped up against the couch and Namjoon’s shoulder was the most comfortable he’d found all week. The physical contact was so incredibly soothing; Namjoon had a way of knowing exactly what Seokjin needed, caring for him so expertly. And his eyes were suddenly so very, very heavy…
Seokjin nodded ever so slightly as he pulled his knees up beneath him on the couch, settling deeper against Namjoon. The leader smiled. “Glasses?” Seokjin lifted his head just enough to pull off said glasses, and Namjoon gently took them from him, setting them on the side table. His fingers returned to Jin’s hair, smoothing circles at the nape of his neck. The older man simply closed his eyes, sighing contentedly. Namjoon hit play on his show, and reached for a blanket from the basket under the side table. After rather clumsily draping the blanket across both Seokjin and himself, which was no easy feat with only one had to work with, he settled back against the couch himself.
Namjoon genuinely thought Seokjin was already asleep when the older man whispered: “Be honest: did you stay back for me?”
Namjoon smiled. “Not entirely. I was worried about you, and didn’t want you to wake up disoriented to an empty house. But I also really wanted to lay on the couch instead of going out. You just gave me a solid defense against Kookie’s puppy eyes. So thanks for that.”
Seokjin chuckled, the sound vibrating against Namjoon’s own rib cage. His arms wrapped a bit more tightly around the younger man’s waist. “You’re welcome,” he whispered with his final burst of energy before slipping into the peaceful, deep sleep he’d been craving for days. Namjoon’s smile widened in time with his friend’s breathing, still congested but soothing all the same. He turned his attention to the TV, and allowed himself to be totally absorbed in the fictional world unfolding before him.

Weekly Blog July 27, 2023
I've been very busy reading and writing since my last post! The good news is that I've posted the re-edited original (2007) seven chapters of my WIP! It felt so good put them back up. @m0srael and @epitomereally thank you muchly for the tags to do a WIP snip. I was going to do it but did this instead. :) I plan on posting Chapter 8, which will be the first brand-new chapter of the fic this weekend. After that, I'll wait a bit until I'm further along in my writing.
One of the fun things for me in this round of posting a fic, is using Work Skins on AO3. I know, I'm very late in the game. I'm now tempted to go back to my older stories and add some fun things to it. Especially for letters and newspaper articles!
Here's the link to my WIP. Hey, it's my blog, and I can do a little self-promotion. LOL I do miss the harrydraco com on LJ. It was the best for posting new fics and chapters to a wider audience. There is no equivalent in fandom now.
The Azkaban Letters (chapters 1-7) on AO3
Okay, now that's done, let's move onto the amazing fics I've read. Wow, just wow!
What I've Been Reading:
There's three fics I've read that were complete standouts. One older Dramione and Two new Drarry. I'm going to start with the Dramione and apologize to @lol-zeitgeistic (zeitgeistic on AO3) for stalking their works. Ha ha ha. Most folks obviously know their masterpiece story Azoth, REVOLVELOVER with Hit Wizard Harry, and Shibboleths (amazing sci-fi story). Yes, I know there's more...I'm working my way through. :) But as I was making my way through their catalogue of yumminess, I spotted their Dramione fic, Straightaway Dangerous (125K). I immediately felt a kindred spirit in that this was an older WIP that they were determined to finish. 8 years to the day. Here's the Summary:
During the final battle, an unexpected insult sends Fenrir Greyback on a rampage, changing 39 people into werewolves. He should've known better than to make Hermione one of that number. Includes werewolf living and culture, Draco’s questionable morals, Hermione’s questionable life choices, and unrequited bromance (well, it’s requited a bit, but don’t tell Potter that).
This fic hit so many of my personal buttons in what I love about HP fanfic. Exploration of places and character types mentioned in canon but where we have little more info. In this case, the place is Knockturn, where Hermione lives in a rundown flat. She's secretly trying to add charm to the place. The character types are hags, werewolves, vampires, veela (all magical but considered other), politics, and BAMF witches. LOL Okay, and the side of Harry/Luna was adorable. You will fall in love with this Harry.
The premise of the fic is that Hermione and Draco were both bitten together, and 37 or 38 others were too, during the Battle. They have some rights but not enough to make a life. Hermione and Draco are both Unspeakables and best friends for seven years...until things change with the political environment.
The current head of the Wizengamot is making things harder and harder for the 'others' and it becomes too much. Even the Werewolf Aurors (including Ron), are affected. But there is someone on their side and the reveal of that person was such a fabulous surprise.
The relationship between Draco and Hermione goes from enemies to friends to lovers (with lots of arguments because both are stubborn). The relationship progresses so naturally but every step well fought for. The initial sex scene is unexpected and it's fire. They both fall but Draco harder. It's a thing of beauty watching how he works for what he wants.
One last note: The lore in this fic is amazing. My favourite, as it's rarely explored, is for the hags. Truly deserves an award for creativity.
Straightaway Dangerous on AO3
LA, Who Am I To Love You? (42.5K) by Anon was posted yesterday for the @hd-wireless fest. I'm not going to go into too much of the story because it was written for @sitp-recs prompt, and Liv's comments on the fic will tell you how truly spectacular this fic is. I can't touch her way of expressing love for a fic. Here's the Summary:
Harry’s summer in LA is not going as expected. Pansy Parkinson keeps inviting him to parties in the Hollywood Hills and harassing him to finally go to the physical therapist, Blaise Zabini keeps slipping new strains of his company’s magical weed into Harry’s pockets in hopes of an endorsement, and Draco Malfoy keeps having sex with everyone but Harry.
See everything in that summary. It looks so light and so fun. It is, but there is so much depth hidden in each of those sentences. What I want to discuss is LA. If you've lived in the LA area or even just visited, this fic will make you weep with homesickness. Everything rang true, from the Bougainvillea flowers being like florescent crepe paper to driving at night with windows down, experiencing the warm air whether in the city or blessedly in the desert while listening to music. The magical touches added to the movie industry and to Quidditch were mind-blowing.
I was born in San Francisco and grew up in the East Bay Area, but went to undergraduate college in San Diego. 1/3 of my school was from LA. My dormmates, my best friend in college (RIP Kristy), my first serious college boyfriend. They all helped me fall in love with SoCal. It was a long time ago. I can't tell you how many memories came back last night reading this story. Now my ex-husband lives down there, and my son also. He's at an Art Institute. Thanks, MA for taking us on this ride!
LA, Who Am I To Love You? on AO3
The second Darry is also from @hd-wireless. This fic, Weapons of Massive Consumption, like the other one has a funness (yes, I know that's not a real word) to it but there's more darkness to this one. Watch the tags on this. Here's the Summary:
Eight years after the war, Harry Potter lives a life of hedonism: raging parties, huge impulse purchases, and seemingly no worries. But it's Draco Malfoy—former Death Eater, lover of blueberry muffins, and bane of coffee shop workers—who starts to wonder if it's all a front, if something's actually terribly wrong with him. Why else would Potter ask Draco, of all fucking people, to write his biography?
What's not mentioned in the summary is that Draco has been away for much of those eight years. He returns from the US changed and is now a writer. What he discovers is that those that stayed are still stuck, traumatized by the war. And now there's Harry, who wants Draco to write his autobiography but then doesn't want him to include any of his bad behaviours. Draco goes along for the ride but finds himself trying to save the hero.
I've read quite a few fanfics dealing with addiction, but this one...this one so rightfully calls out what a disease is and what trauma is. Theo will fricken break your heart. Anyone who's experienced a group of friends who are playing around with alcohol and/or substances will recognize Theo. The one who is damaged more than the others. The one you're not sure can be saved, but you love them anyway. And then sometimes you have to step away.
The fic is not all doom and gloom. LOL When dealing with sex and drugs, there's a lot of fun...until it isn't. As I mentioned at the start, it has so many hilarious bits and scenes to it. One literally had me laughing so hard I had to step away from my computer. Harry is royally pissed off at Draco and takes it out on Draco with a comment to Narcissa in public. You will know it when you read it.
The fic handles the serious subject matter with clarity and love. You will likely recognize yourself or at least some of your friends while reading it. And, yes, Harry and Draco can both be idiots but still come through what life has dealt them.
Weapons of Massive Consumption on AO3
As with all fics I recommend or discuss here, if you read them, please leave a comment. These authors definitely deserve some love.
Okay, way way too long today,
Rom

a/n: having thoughts about slice of life anime utahime because i am recently obsessed with the ice guy and cool female colleague anime! (do not perceive me for i binged the entire thing in one night .)
fandom: jujutsu kaisen
character: iori utahime
genre: fluff
info: non-sorcerer au; utahime is your neighbour
warnings: -
synopsis: you were only supposed to stay for a while, but utahime doesn't want you to leave.
word count: 1.3k
fluff-vember prompt: kindness from a stranger
fluff-vember 2023 masterlist is here.
Iori Utahime
Utahime wasn't used to coming home to someone.
Ever since she moved out of her parent's house after graduating from high school, she quickly came to the conclusion that living alone suited her the best. In the first year of university, she had lived on campus and shared a dorm room with three other girls. Adjusting to communal living proved too irksome for her since she was an only child, and she decided to take on a part-time job at a local izakaya to afford a studio apartment some distance from her university.
She has lived that way ever since. Even when it was clearly more affordable to have a roommate to split the cost of rent with, she lived alone, and she was happy that way.
The window to her apartment was open, and there was a smell of hot oil mixed with chicken fat wafting out to the corridor as she approached. Utahime fought back the urge to recite the standard greeting phrase for when a customer walked in, an old habit from her waitressing years.
"Utahime-san, welcome back!" you called out from her kitchen, aware of her presence since the door creaked when she pushed it open. She removed her shoes in the entryway and pushed them to the side, before she stepped over the threshold into the living room.
"I'm home," she said, and it was beginning to taste familiar on her tongue.
You rushed to round the corner to the living room, wiping your hands on a patterned tea towel clipped onto the bottom hem of your shirt. "Dinner will be ready soon!" you said, shooing her away from the kitchen. Instead, Utahime tiptoed to look over your head, and you moved to block her view.
"Please don't worry about the mess! I'll take care of it after," you said, putting a hand on her arm to steer her towards the couch. She allowed you to usher her to her seat, laughing when you made a show of fluffing the decorative pillow for her.
Utahime collapsed into the plush backrest of the couch, suddenly feeling the tiredness of her day weighing on her. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched you scurry back into the kitchen."What are you making?" she asked, inhaling deeply and feeling a wave of nostalgia wash over her. The dinner you were in the process of making smelled like izakaya fare, and her stomach involuntarily rumbled at the thought.
"Yakisoba and karaage! And beer, of course," you said, smiling. "Making your faves as a little 'thank you' for letting me crash these past few weeks! Couldn't have done without your kindness, is all." With that, you disappeared back into the kitchen to get back to cooking.
This entire week, you were the one making the trips to the grocery store and cooking meals for two. Utahime, while perfectly capable of preparing herself something healthy and balanced to eat, strongly preferred not to. Buying ingredients and keeping the house stocked with essentials was a chore she never enjoyed, and you were the solution to her problem for the week, going so far as to even cover her share of the groceries when she refused to accept money for rent.
She knew she'd miss you once you moved into your own apartment.
It was a stroke of good fortune – 'serendipitous', just like the word of the day she received in her email in the morning – that the apartment you were supposed to move into was still occupied when you arrived. Sharing her space with you was a very different experience from when she was a student, crammed in a room with three other girls who made the room feel much smaller than it actually was. Living together was easy, with you. It was nice.
You emerged from around the corner with two plates of yakisoba, the glistening yolks of the fried eggs on top winking at her. Utahime immediately straightened in her seat. "Let me help," she said, getting up from the couch and ducking into the kitchen before you could stop her.
"No, I got it!" you said, jumping into the spot behind her to keep her from bringing the rest of the food to the dining table. She tightened her hands around the large platter of karaage, shouldering her way around your flailing arms. You laughed, and it made her laugh too, and she was confident she never felt so at home in any place before this moment.
"I hope you don't mind," you said, the stainless steel buffet-style serving pan Shouko had gotten her as a gag birthday gift making its appearance from the depths of one of her kitchen cabinets. She could count at least half a dozen cans of beer in it, shoved into the mass of crushed ice you filled it up with.
"It's alright. I wouldn't have a use for it otherwise," she said with a smile, meeting you halfway to hold up the other side of the serving pan. "You know I don't do much entertaining."
You removed the tea towel clipped to your shirt and laid it on the dining table in place of a trivet, and the two of you set the serving pan full of beer and ice down.
When you settled into the other chair, she was glad that she had taken her mother's advice and bought a pair of chairs instead of just one. She had insisted that she wouldn't be hosting any dinners, earnestly citing the size of her apartment and the singular cooker hob in her kitchen as her reasons to refuse hosting. Her mother gently insisted, and she furnished her apartment accordingly: two dining chairs, two full sets of cutlery and dinnerware, a couch and a dining table and a bed that were all big enough for two.
Utahime helped you clean up after dinner, even if you maintained that you were just paying her back for letting you stay. It felt natural to wash the dishes at the too-small sink, while you stood to her left as you dried them off before returning them to the dish rack beside the toaster oven.
You were sitting on the living room floor when she was done with her shower, your luggage open as you rolled up your clean clothes to slot them in between the bits and pieces of your belongings that you've retrieved from around her apartment. She took a long look around the place, and it looked quite lifeless without your things blending in with hers.
Maybe you were the other person her mother wanted her to make room for. Maybe—
"You don't have to go, you know?" She called your name and came to kneel beside you on the floor. You momentarily stopped fiddling with the stubborn hoodie sleeve that refused to cooperate with your rolling, and you looked up.
"If your cousin's still living in the other apartment with their boyfriend, you don't have to go," Utahime said, her heart oddly calm for a moment like this. Wasn't it supposed to be something nerve-wracking to ask someone to move in with you? There was a severe lack of those butterflies her coupled friends often spoke of, and she knew it was because things felt easy, natural with you.
She watched the realisation of what she asked dawn on you. Like the dark blue night with the coming of the first rays of the morning sun, your face brightened. You scooped up her hands in yours, squeezing. "Then I won't go," you said.

Sunday Fic Update: November 5, 2023
Remember, Remember, the 5th of November…uh…what was the rest of the chant in that movie?
All joking aside, a fair amount of updates for my writing.
For starters, as you guys can probably tell, @stormkitty97 and I managed to sort things out.
However, in light of this, we are doing things differently than before:
We are cooling it on the collab projects. I imagine that after the few stories in the works, that'll be it.
On a similar note, we are also only doing our writing voice calls once a week for the most part instead of several. We both agreed that doing it that often wasn't good, and this way we can work on our projects while prioritizing our own shit.
We deleted the Lizzie and Addie one shot series. Her because she wants to write her own shit with Lizzie, and me because I was never into Harry Potter in the first place and want to stay as far away from that IP as I can. Since it wasn't very popular in the first place, I don't think you guys are missing out on much.
We also decided to only do Vil/Rapunzel and Azul/Tiana for the TWST/Disney Princess crossover series. We don't have much of an idea where to go with the others, and it would cut down on our workload. (Tbh, those were the only ones that I was passionate to write about after the Jamil/Jasmine story, anyways, so it works out in that regard as well.)
I'm still using Storm as a primary beta and Hawkingbird as a backup one. Just because I still need to use her as a backup in times when Storm is unable to or to look over some reworked chapters during second round edits for Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw.
We also posted a link to a Descendants fix-it fic that we're writing together. Since it's in another fandom, I'm hesitant to post a link to it here. But if you want to check it out, it's live on my AO3 profile. (Yes, I know that seems contradictory to what I just said. But the only reason why I'm doing this one is because it's a smaller one compared to some of the other ones I worked with her on before. This will probably be the last collab I'll ever write with her outside of the Vil/Rapunzel and Azul/Tiana stories. Again, I want to prioritize my own shit.)
For my own works…
Good News: I completed two out of the final three chapters for "Take Me to the Savannah". Bad News: It's the last two, not the next one.
I'm still working on the final fight scene. After I'm done with that chapter and @stormkitty97 looks it over, I'll just publish them all in one go. Like I said before, there's a surprise for you guys once I complete this puppy.

*flies in like magneto* can i get some exes to lovers™?
Do I have some exes to lovers fics for you? Yes I certainly do. It seems that the cherik fandom loves some exes to lovers cherik and I don't blame anyone because this ship really calls for all the angst. I hope you enjoy this list.
Exes to Lovers AU
Bound – FuryRed
Summary: Is there anything worse than someone else’s wedding? Well, perhaps your sister’s wedding- where the groom just has to invite his boss and that man just happens to be your ex-boyfriend; a person you had an extremely passionate and tumultuous relationship with that ended badly.
Charles hadn’t seen Erik for a year by the time Raven had told him about the wedding. He wasn’t looking forward to the occasion, particularly when Raven explained that they would be celebrating the event with a two-week extravaganza at a luxury hotel, meaning that Charles would be forced to spend a whole fortnight with the man who he’d given everything to; the man who had ultimately broken his heart…
Preheat to 350 (just for you remix) – ikeracity
Summary: Charles realizes he's in love with Erik. But there's one tiny little problem: he just broke up with Erik.
Thread Through a Needle – Black_Betty
Summary: Erik and Charles are broken up. Neither of them want to be.
Carry Me Anew (Frost & Darkholme Remix) – kianspo
Summary: While working as a model for Raven and Emma's clothing line, Erik experiences a strong attraction to his shoot partner. These things happen, except Erik has a boyfriend, who does not take this at all well.
Linger like a tattoo kiss – ikeracity
Summary: Six months apart gives Erik a lot of time to think about what he really wants.
(Erik's POV from Carry Me Anew (Frost & Darkholme Remix) by kianspo)
Symphysis – ikeracity
Summary: After Charles and Erik broke up four months ago, Charles convinced himself he'd never see Erik again. But life has a funny way of bringing people back together.
Call/Response – phalangine
Summary: Charles and Erik have a real conversation for the first time since breaking up. Charles is looking to avoid confrontation. Erik is not.
Regression Therapy – Fantine_Black
Summary: O, God, he’d made a terrible mistake. Whatever he’d expected to find here, Erik was still Erik, a man he’d moved continents to avoid. In retrospect, that felt like a rather good idea…
Four years after Charles walked away from Professor Lehnsherr, the two meet again for a drink.
Because things are better the second time round, aren't they?
Forever is Only a Drunk Dial Away – bettysofia
Summary: Charles is sad and drunk and stalking Erik's Instagram.
Shop Space – Caradee
Summary: Charles and Erik break up but still meet at their favorite coffee shop and manage a completely friendly relationship. The kids who work the coffee shop don't understand it, Charles' overprotective twin brother doesn't understand it, and even Charles doesn't understand it. Then, Erik shows up with a new date, someone who seems to be everything that Charles is not.
How will the Professor handle the surprising heartbreak that comes seeing Erik with someone else?
Mutant House at Dead Kings College – mabyn
Summary: When it comes to romance, Charles has terrible timing.
Can You Feel My Heart – FuryRed
Summary: Erik Lehnsherr hates Charles Xavier.
It’s as true as the words written on the wall in the bathroom at the university that Erik attends. Erik sees them one day- accompanied by a crude drawing of Erik and Charles glaring at each other- and recognises the truth of the sentence, and smiles.
He hates Charles.
Probably…
Believe (One More Time) – luninosity
Summary: For the prompt, Charles and Erik dated during college and had a bitter break-up right before graduation. It's five years later and they both meet again at their class's reunion for a weekend. Someone was even stupid enough to have them room with each other for the weekend...
Old Flame Burning – TurtleTotem
Summary: It's ridiculous for Charles to dread meeting the best man at his sister's wedding, just because he shares a name with Charles's ex. It's not as though it could possibly be the same Erik.
Don’t speak to the bartender – Wild_Imagination
Summary: Logan is a bartender, it's a gloomy evening, and in his bar there's someone with a broken heart. But this is not a movie.
Right?
Somewhere I’m Going & Have Never Been Before – Yahtzee
Summary: In late December 1984, Charles falls victim to the terrible pandemic sweeping across the globe. He's sick, probably dying, and utterly alone in an isolated cabin...until he's not.
Walking in a Winter Wonderland – TurtleTotem
Summary: Charles hasn't seen Erik since their devastating breakup ten years ago. He's certainly the last person he expects to run into at a Christmas lights display.
Lean On Me – SpiritsFlame
Summary: Ten years ago, Charles and Erik split up, dividing their six kids between them. None of them expect them to meet at summer camp. And no one could have predicted the results.
It was a yellow umbrella spring – ikeracity
Summary: Three years after Charles left for Oxford, Erik discovers that Charles is coming back to New York.
Second chances are wonderful things.
My heart above my head – annejumps
Summary: Emma thinks her coworker Erik and her friend and fellow telepath Charles should get together. No one expects things to get so intense so quickly.
The Edge of What Doesn’t End – populuxe
Summary: When a mysterious object appears on the moon, Moira MacTaggert calls in two experts with very specific mutations to investigate.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, after years of breaking up and getting back together again, those two experts have finally broken up for good—and they’re the last people in the world who should be stuck together on a spaceship.
Exit Wounds – LemonadeGarden
Summary: It's been eight months since Charles and Erik had a fight that broke apart their marriage. When a mutant rights protest goes awry and Charles begins to get sick, past memories and present obstacles begin to blur the lines of their ideological differences.
Alternatively: Charles and Erik learn how to fall in love again in troubled times.
Note: Unfinished
11 Days, 8 Hours and 12 Minutes (or Bruises, Stupidity and Anger Management) – ximeria
Summary: For six months, Erik and Charles have been the disgustingly happy couple of the school. Considering their pigheadedness and general communication skills (or lack thereof), things are bound to go boom at some point.
Moon Song – ikeracity
Summary: Werewolf AU. When Charles is captured by hunters, Erik and his pack go after him. It turns out there might be some room for redemption left for both of them after all.
I will Never Stop Loving You – swoopswoop
Summary: Erik and Charles split up three years ago but Erik never really got over it and then one day when the man who walked out of his life three years ago is walking down the street towards him, Erik sees an opportunity to mend fences.
Please leave your message after the tone – ikeracity
Summary: Spending his evening getting shitfaced and pining over Erik seems like a totally productive use of Charles's time. Luckily, it turns out to be a better idea than it sounds.
When the Spell Breaks – kianspo
Summary: Erik, a high-profile lawyer with a successful career, meets a 21-year-old grad student in a bar, and within a few short months marries him. He and Charles are blissfully happy, until Erik's boss runs a background check on Charles and discovers he's been cheating on Erik. Charles denies everything, as there was no affair, but Erik doesn't believe him and throws him out. As Charles tries to figure out how to survive and stay at school that he can no longer afford and makes a lot of bad if not plain dangerous choices, Erik has to fight his own battle of discovering the truth and winning Charles back.
We have not touched the stars, nor are we forgiven (the things you love don’t last remix) – hllfire
Summary: Charles hands Erik the signed divorce papers, but Erik has changed his mind. Too late, it seems. All he can do is go forward with the divorce.
A year later, Charles comes back, and Erik can't help but wanting to see him. The only problem is things don't go like Erik had planned.
Suddenly There’ll Be a Blizzard (Let it Snow Remix) – kianspo
Summary: Charles was never at his best while jetlagged, but locking himself out in a snowstorm while barely dressed might be a new low. The last thing he expected was to be rescued by his high school nemesis, the man he hadn't seen in over ten years, who might have broken his heart for good once upon a time.
Write this number down (you can call it anytime) – pocky_slash
Summary: When Erik upsets his children, they have a habit of running away from home--and straight to Charles' school for cookies and consolation. Charles doesn't mind the visitors, but as they appear more and more frequently, he realizes that sooner or later, he and Erik are going to have to talk about what happened on the beach and what it means for their future and the future of Erik's children.
All we do is break up (and make up) – Stuckyl0v3r
Summary: "So instead of making the most out of this next months, because you don't know where either of you is going to end up, you decided to stay away from each other to get used to the feeling?" Hank summed up, stopping in front of the class. Charles nodded his head confidently and beamed at him, but somehow his smile didn't reach his eyes.
"Yes, something like that."
Well, that was the most idiotic plan Hank's ever heard.
Three wheels of cheese and a Great White – ximeria
Summary: Charles and Erik were friends with benefits in college.
They went their separate ways and 18 years later, they run into each other in New York.
The sex was never a problem back in college - and sex was all it had been. But now Erik is a divorced father and Charles has admitted to himself he needs more than just sex in a relationship. So in their usual round-about way they try to navigate becoming friends after so many years. The whole quest is aided by Raven, Edie, Wanda and Pietro (and a large number of shark jokes).

Prove Them Wrong [2/?]
Fandom: Divergent Pairing: Eric Coulter x Fem! Reader Summary: Y/N is a Dauntless transfer from Erudite, and she has a drive, an ambition that sets her apart--it always has, even back in Erudite. She brings her perseverance (and need to prove others wrong) to Dauntless when she transfers, and she uses her mind to make her way through the initiation process. Along the way, she makes friends and enemies, and she finds herself comfortable around the man most people in Dauntless avoid at all costs: Eric Coulter. A/N: it seems this may be a little bit of a slow burn, based on the pacing and where I am in chapter three right now... Enjoy!
You woke up to the sound of metal clanging together, an unpleasant alarm if you’d ever heard one. “Get up, get dressed, and be in the training room in two minutes,” Four said, banging the metal together one last time before leaving the room.
Everyone scrambled to get dressed in their new black Dauntless clothes, and as people entered the training area, they began to form a semicircle around Four and Eric. “Ok, let’s get started,” Four said, clapping his hands together. “There are two stages of training. The first is physical, you will push your bodies to the breaking point and you will master the methods of combat. The second is mental, again breaking point. You’ll face your worst fears and conquer them--unless they get you first. You’ll be trained separately from the Dauntless-born, but you’ll be ranked together. After initiations, rankings will determine what jobs you move into: leadership, guarding the fence, or keeping the factionless from killing each other.”
“The rankings will also determine who gets cut,” Eric cut in, rising from where he sat on a concrete slab. An uneasy whisper spread throughout the initiates. No one knew about this, and you had to admit, you were getting a bit nervous yourself. “At the end of each stage of training, the lowest-ranking initiates will be leaving us,” Eric continued.
“To do what?” asked Al.
“Well, you can’t go home to your families, so you’ll be factionless.”
Another wave of murmurs rippled through the crowd of initiates, but it was quickly silenced by Eric’s glare. “Someone should have told us,” Christina said.
“Why? Would you have chosen differently? Out of fear?” Eric replied challengingly. “I mean, if that’s the case, you might as well get out now. If you’re really one of us, it won’t matter to you that you might fail, alright? You chose us. Now, we get to choose you.” Eric looked at each initiate, his blue eyes challenging each person to look away. Some people did, others didn’t. You didn’t.
Instead, you held his intense gaze as the itch to prove others wrong that had been inside you since the day you were born rose up, ready to be set free. What Eric said was scary, but it didn’t matter--all your years of studying the faction system told you that they would try to scare the initiates, and while you hadn’t expected this, you had known it wouldn’t be easy. But you had worked your ass off for years to be top of the class in Erudite, and you’d be damned if you weren’t going to do the same here, in your new faction.
--
“Everyone, get some water before we move into the next segment of training,” Four called out. It took everything in you not to bend over as some others were doing; you knew standing up straight, getting fresh air in your lungs, would make the cramp in your abdomen go away faster, even if it hurt more now.
“Tris, stand up straight,” you whispered to your friend, who was red-faced after running twenty laps around the room, which was everyone’s warm-up for the day.
“Just so you know, tomorrow we won’t just be running laps,” Four said, surveying all the tired initiates. “So get used to this.”
You sighed, mentally thanking yourself for joining a small workout group in Erudite. It was fairly new, and it was only created because studies showed that after some physical activity, the brain was better equipped to come back to problems it struggled with earlier and continue working whereas remaining stagnant was more likely to result in burnout and fatigue. The workouts were nothing like this, but you were still appreciative of them.
“Alright, everyone find a punching bag and start hitting. Eric and I will be walking around correcting your form, but it’s on you to put our advice into practice. Go,” Four announced after barely even a minute of the “break” had gone by.
Turning on your heel, you walked over to the nearest punching bag and lined yourself up. Feet spread evenly about as wide as your shoulders, then step the left foot forward just a bit. Knees bent slightly, fists raised high. Then, you get to punching.
After what felt like an hour of hearing Four quietly critiquing other students between Eric’s shouts of disappointment at other initiates, the two trainers finally got to your area of the training room. Out of the corner of your eye you caught Four walking up to Tris, slightly adjusting her position and giving helpful tips. Another set of footsteps came to a stop behind you, which meant Eric would be the one helping you. Your shoulders tensed for a moment, but you quickly forced yourself into a more relaxed position and continued punching. Just pretend he isn’t there, you told yourself. After hitting the punching bag six times, called out “Stop” from behind you. He walked over to your side and took a fighting stance. “Make sure your hips are square, like this, so when you throw a punch with the hand that is further back, you can twist your hips and use core strength to put more power into it,” he said stoically, and you did your best to mimic his stance. “No, like this,” he said, grabbing your hips and twisting them, holding you firmly in place for a second before letting go. “Try it now,” he said. You started throwing punches again, and he nodded before silently walking away. When you paused to readjust your stance, you heard Eric yell “Did I say you could stop, Y/N? No, I did not; keep going!” You took a deep breath and began the next onslaught of punches as the room fell quiet save for the sound of fists hitting punching bags, a rhythmic thumping sound.
“First jumper!” Eric called out, disrupting the steady beat and sense of calmness in the room. “In the ring.” Beside him, Four sighed and looked down at his feet, and you had a bad feeling about whatever was about to happen. “Last jumper,” he continued, looking at a girl with dark hair--you think you may have heard her friends call her Molly, but you aren’t entirely sure. “Time to fight.”
Tris and the girl stepped up to the ring. “How long do we fight for?” the girl asked.
“Until one of you can’t continue,” Eric said in response.
“Or one of you concedes,” Four interjected, stepping forward.
“According to the old rules,” Eric corrected. “With the new rules, no one concedes.”
“You really want to lose someone in their first fight?”
“Well, a brave man never surrenders.”
“Lucky for you, those weren’t the rules when we fought.”
Eric clenched his jaw, irritated, before saying “You’ll be scored on this, so fight hard.” Tris and the other girl squared up and began to circle each other, but Eric was getting impatient. “Go!” he barked.
After nearly falling off the mat, Tris lunged, but the other girl dodged, twisted, and retaliated with a swing of her own, landing a punch to Tris’ face. As Tris retreated, the other girl pressed her advantage, catching Tris’ waist, bending her over, and punching her stomach a few times before Tris managed to break free of her hold. Just as she reached the end of the mat and turned, Tris was met with another punch to the face, sending her to the floor. The other girl--Molly--glanced at Eric since Tris was down, and he nodded, signaling Molly to send one last blow Tris’ way, knocking her out. As you watched the fight, you felt bad for your friend; she was much smaller than Molly, and part of you wanted to speak up about the cruelty that the trainers were showing, but you shoved it down. There was no need to compromise your position right now.
“Next,” Eric yelled, pointing to a girl named Selene and a former Candor named Peter who had made fun of Tris, calling her a Stiff several times. You secretly hoped Selene would kick his ass, but it was unlikely, he was tall and strong, plus he was willing to fight dirty--he’d admitted as much in the dorm area. Guess he still couldn’t keep his mouth shut, even though he’d left Candor.
Selene was tough; what she lacked in strength she made up for in endurance, but after a few rounds of dodging Peter’s punches, he finally landed one to her solar plexus, stunning her, allowing him to sweep her legs out from underneath her and kick her as she lay on the ground. You clenched your jaw as he did so, feeling anger rise up inside of you. Selene was unable to fight, that was the stopping point of the fights, but Peter was still kicking her. And Eric, the emotionless person that he was, didn’t do anything.
“Peter,” you said, “stop it.” Peter turned towards you and smirked.
“What are you going to do if I don’t?” he taunted. You considered for a second before turning to Eric.
Looking up at him, you steeled yourself. “I know we don’t get to determine the fighting order, or who we fight, but I would like to fight Peter. Now,” you said, sure to keep your voice level and maintain eye contact with the leader.
He raised an eyebrow at you curiously, and thankfully, Peter had stopped kicking Selene when you started speaking to Eric. Selene scooted to the edge of the mat, but that was as far as she could move without assistance. “You two,” Eric yelled at two initiates, “help Four get this one,” he pointed at Selene, “to the infirmary.” Then he turned back to you. “What are you waiting for, initiate? Get up there.” For a moment you were stunned, you didn’t actually think you would end up fighting Peter, and you knew that both Eric and Peter were expecting you to lose quickly. You caught Four’s eye as he carried Selene out with the help of two initiates, and you looked around to see Christina, Tris, Will, Al, Edward, Molly, and a few other initiates staring at you like you were mad. Maybe you were, but it was too late to back out now. You stood in a low, sturdy fighting stance, just like Eric had shown you. Peter did the same. For a moment, the room was dead silent as your eyes locked with his, and then both of you whipped into action.
Peter went right for the face punch, but you quickly blocked upward and threw a low roundhouse kick at his knee, making him wobble. He recovered quickly, and he quickly used his height to his advantage, moving to grab your shoulder and slam you into the ground. You were smart though, and you let him move you slightly before turning the downwards motion into momentum that allowed you to do a somersault, twisting his arm and landing on your feet. As he was turning around to face you, you sent a snap kick right to the back of his knee, making it buckle. You moved quickly to his other side, ready to send a few punches to his face and knock him out, but he sprung forward, wrapping strong hands around your neck and squeezing. For a moment you panicked, hitting his arms, but they didn’t move. Everyone was sure that was it for you, but you had another trick up your sleeve--Peter was overly confident this would weaken you and in the process of squeezing, he had left his own body defenseless. So you kicked him in the groin. Hard. He called out and released you, and as he leaned over in an instinctual reaction to pain, you kicked his forehead with your knee, shoved him to the side, knocking him over, and kicked him again, this time in the solar plexus. You stood there, stone-faced, and when Peter didn’t make a move to fight back, you turned to Eric, who nodded, and you jumped down from the mat.
You landed next to Will, Tris, and Christina, all of whom were staring at you in a mixture of horror and admiration. You blushed in embarrassment and looked at the ground, thinking to yourself, What the hell did I just do? You were so lost in thought that you didn’t realize the next two initiates were on the mat and fighting, and you only came back to yourself when Eric yyelled, “Hey! Are you deaf, initiate? I said go grab some ice for your neck, I don’t want to hear complaints about it tomorrow!”
You nodded to your friends and said “I’ll be back in a minute,” shocked at how hoarse your voice was. “Just going to… yeah,” you trailed off before walking quickly towards the infirmary.
A/N: can you tell I love writing fight scenes? also I do martial arts and have played sports my whole life, so I love when I get to use my knowledge of anatomy and physiology two write action scenes :)

· Fake It Till You Make It ·
Request: This was requested by the lovely @anastasiaxsworld “Hi this is my first request in this fandom and I really loved your work and I came up with this idea where reader has a boyfriend (he's very rude) and she wanted to introduce him to her brothers (they're extremely protective of her) in Garrison to meet him but he doesn't show up (cause he's an ass) but it just so happens to be that tommy is also there and accidentally heard what's going on,so as a bored man ,he decides to be her 'boyfriend' and they do all the lovely couply stuff and they actually get along,so long story short he wants to be her actual boyfriend.”
Warnings: brief mentions of guns, alcohol and the war.
·
“Does this boyfriend of yours own a pocket watch?” Robert, Y/n’s oldest and strictest brother asked having grown impatient by her boyfriend’s tardiness. Her other two brothers Frederick and Ernest were equally as unpleased judging by the expression printed on their faces.
“He’ll come” Y/n said toying with the rim of her pint of beer although she wasn’t that sure he would. Her boyfriend had never been a swell man per se, but Y/n knew her brothers were old fashioned and thought she needed a man to be safe when she moved to small heath so Y/n settled with the first one that showed an interest in her.
She couldn’t help but mentally curse at them for putting her in that situation. She knew they meant well, they had always been protective of her since their parents passed and she was the youngest of all four.
“I’m going to get a refill” she said after another five minutes passed.
She sighed in exasperation as she walked to the bar where Harry was talking to Thomas Shelby through the small window of the private room. Both of them had, unbeknownst to her, been eavesdropping on her unfortunate situation.
Y/n couldn’t say she was close with the Shelbys, but she couldn’t say she was a complete stranger. Finn liked to play near her house and she had welcomed him in when the rain caught him outside on several situations.
“Still no show?” Harry asked as he poured Y/n more beer.
“It’s my fault I should’ve known” she said sarcastically “I better get back”
When she went back to her table her brothers’ faces looked much more annoyed. She was about to tell them that her boyfriend wasn’t coming when suddenly the chair next to hers was drawn. She expected it to be her boyfriend so she couldn’t hide her shock when she saw it was Thomas Shelby.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting” he said addressing her brothers before turning to look at Y/n. “Sorry, love. The meeting took longer than expected” he said calmly taking her hand in his.
“it’s alright Tommy” she said deciding to play along. “Tommy, this is Robert, Ernest and Frederick my brothers. Guys, this is Thomas, my boyfriend” she continued blushing slightly when she called him her boyfriend.
“Nice to meet you, Y/n has told so much about you” Tommy said politely pretending not to have noticed Y/n blushing.
“All good things I hope” Frederick said lightly, hiving already warmed up to Thomas.
“All good things” Tommy reassured playfully before ordering a bottle of whiskey and some glasses.
“What is it that you do for a living?” Robert chimed in in all seriousness.
“I have a betting shop” Tommy said calmly.
“Isn’t that illegal?” earnest asked disapprovingly.
“I have a betting license” Tommy answered as Harry brought the bottle and glasses to the table.
“He also owns this pub” Y/n chimed in, wanting her brothers to approve of him as he let go of her hand to pour the whisky.
“Quite a business man, then” Frederick said in awe taking a glass.
“Did you serve?” Robert inquired.
“I did, The Somme” Tommy answered shortly, by this time his hand was back on Y/n’s.
“We shouldn’t talk about the war” Y/n chuckled nervously intertwining her fingers with Tommy’s. She never understood why men liked talking about it or why boys liked to play at it.
“That’s our Y/n for you, she always hated war talk” Frederick said humorously.
“Yeah, I know” Tommy said smiling warmly at Y/n, remembering the night Finn came home promising he would never play war again because it made Y/n upset.
The conversation flowed smoothly from there on, the alcohol helped Y/ns brothers relax which made Y/n feel much more at ease. She would’ve never imagined pretending to be Tommy’s girlfriend would be so easy and when the bottle was completely empty Robert suggested he and his brothers should go back to the hotel they were staying at.
“Ah, come on, we should have another one” Frederick pleaded drunkenly but his older brother didn’t bulge and instead got up, Earnest and Tommy following suit a few seconds after.
“it was nice to meet you Thomas” Robert said stretching his hand for Tommy to shake. “keep this one out of trouble” he joked turning to look at Y/n, letting her know he approved of him.
“I will” tommy said shaking his hand and turning to look at Y/n too.
Earnest and Frederick said their goodbyes as well before hugging Y/n and then all three exited the pub.
“Thank you so much” Y/n said once the pub’s doors closed after her brothers left “You really saved my life”
“it was the least I could do, thanks to you Finn stopped playing with guns” he smiled
“I hope my brothers didn’t offend you at any point, they can be a bit forward” she rambled feeling a bit nervous in his presence.
“Not at all” Tommy reassured, suddenly thinking about how much he had enjoyed pretending to be Y/n’s boyfriend for the evening.
“I owe you one” she smiled.
“Oh I know how you can pay me back”
“How’s that?”
“Let me buy you another round “

To Confess Your Love | Charles Leclerc
Fandom: Formula one Warning: Angsty and FLUFFY my god. Not as long as the first one, 3500 words. Pairing: Charles Leclerc x f!reader Summary: After the dinner party you and Charles haven’t spoken and you just keeping longing for each other.
< Previous | Next >
A/N: Part two of To Fall in Love, and thanks again to Screnwriter for the inspiration, enjoy!
It has been almost a week since the dinner party and you were at the airport waiting for your flight to Portugal. You and Charles haven’t spoken since that evening and you almost wondered if it was just a fling or a one time event that nothing would come from. You frowned slightly when the thought passed by in your mind, but were interrupted by a voice behind you. Lando came down running the aisle with his packback almost sliding down his shoulders.
“Hey (Y/N)!”
“Hey Lando. How have you been? Ready for Portugal?”
“More than ready, I’m so excited. How are you?”
“I’m good.” you said, more like trying to convince yourself that you were.
“Really?”
“Mmmhmm.”
“How about your crush-...”
Lando didn’t have time to finish the sentence before your hand flew up on his mouth to hush him done.
“Not that loud, you dork.” you whispered loudly at him and he just grinned. “But nothing really, I haven’t heard from him since the dinner. But he is probably busy and I have been busy as well.”
You tried to hide the heartbreak in your voice, but Lando sensed it and put an arm around, squeezing your shoulders lightly.
“Well, if he hurts you I will take care of him.”
“Thank you.” you smiled at him. The speaker's voice told you that it was time to board the plane, which made the crowd move slowly forward. Lando waved at George and he soon joined you in the line. You and Lando had your seats next to each other and George was just one the other side of the aisle. He took out his phone to snap a picture of the three of you. Lando hugged you and you gave off an excited smile. George wrote the caption:
Ready to take off to Portugal!!
Instagram went crazy over the picture and the comments were very kind towards you and some were speculating if you and Lando were dating.
The plane ride to Portugal went by fast, you had a great time with George and Lando. You listen to some music, which spotify almost exclusively recommended sappy love songs to make your heart even heavier. You watched a movie and then it was time to land. Portugal was quite warm and you put on your sunglasses when you left the airport. A taxi was waiting for the McLaren drivers and you waved off George as he joined the Williams team.
“So how are you going to deal with, you know…”
“With Charles?” you asked and he nodded. You hadn’t realized how close he was going to be to you now and, frankly, you were a nervous wreck thinking about him.
“I will try my best to ignore him, besides, I’m with the McLaren team. So, it’s not like he’s gonna waltz into our building any time soon.” you joked, but your heart hoped otherwise.
The taxi pulled up by the racing tracks and you were to walk with Lando around the track to get him ready for tomorrow's practice round. Daniel had texted you that he was on his way, but his plane was a bit late. Your heart jumped a bit when you passed the Ferrari building, but you tried your best not to think about it. You were here to work, not to go after the stupid crush you had on Charles Leclerc. But your heart didn’t want to listen, it wanted him to notice you, it wanted to have that moment from the dinner. The hand touches, staring into those gorgeous hazel eyes. His warm hand on your lower back guiding you, and his hand stroking your shoulders, pulling you closer to him. Almost kissing him.
Please don’t let it be a dream that has to die, you begged. Please don’t let this be all that comes out of this.
An arm snaked around your shoulders, which brought you back from your ruminating thoughts of your current heartache.
“You look sad, something happened?” Daniel asked.
“Oh, no. It’s nothing.”
“Hey, I know you well enough to know that you are lying. What has happened?”
“Nothing.”
“Come on, (Y/N)-...”
“No, I mean nothing. He hasn’t talked to me since the dinner party.” you said and put your hands against your face.
Daniel looked at you with a confused look, then he realized you were talking about Charles.
“Have you tried to talk to him?”
“NO.” your eyes widened and head flew up to look at him.
“Whoa, there is nothing wrong with being the first one to reach out, you know.”
“But I don’t want to annoy him.”
“And what if he feels the same about contacting you?”
It pained Daniel a bit to help you with your crush on Charles, but it pained him even more to see you so sad over it. And from what he saw at the dinner party, the two of you really liked each other and he couldn’t deny you that happiness. I liked you and would always be protective of you, but he wanted you to be happy. Even if it meant dating a rival. He was about to leave you with your thoughts.
“Oh, and if the two of you start dating, don’t you dare leave me and Lando for Ferrari. You will stay with us.”
You smiled at his silly remark. You gave him a hug before he left and reassured him that you weren’t going anywhere. You rose from the chair to get Lando for your round around the track. As you walked out from the McLaren building you saw people coming from the Ferrari building, Carlos was one of them with his manager. The same was for the AlphaTauri building and you could see Pierre in the crowd. He noticed you and waved at you. You smiled and waved back, but your smile suddenly turned to confusion when you saw that he was walking towards you.
“Hey, (Y/N) right?”
“Yes, it is. How are you doing Pierre?”
“I’m good, how are you?”
“I’m good too, I was on my way to walk the track with Lando.”
It felt like Pierre wanted to talk to you about something but changed his mind.
“Well, I’m off too. I see you around.”
“Okay. See ya.” you said confused as Pierre walked away from you.
Odd, you thought but started to walk towards Lando’s room. But when you turned around your whole body froze. Standing by the Ferrari building stood Charles, talking to one of his managers. You hated how your body reacted over seeing him again, that you couldn’t act normal. Like nothing had happened. But it had and you had played the scenes back in your head like a broken record. You had danced to every love song that you could find and felt like you could conquer the world. You had felt the butterflies late into the night, making it hard to sleep.
But now. Seeing him again made you lose all your confidence and your heartache felt even worse than before. You almost prayed that he didn’t notice you so you could sneak away, but deep down you hoped, wished, that he would see you. Notice you. To give you the same attention he had last week. But he and his team had walked the opposite way and he hadn’t looked in your direction once.
But he knew that you were there, he had seen Pierre talking to you, but he didn’t dare to go up to you. But oh, he wanted to.So bad that his body was aching for it and screaming at him to move. But he didn’t. So, instead of acting on his feelings, he avoided you, thinking it would be easier. Pierre had left you because he thought that Charles would come up to you himself and confess his love to you, but he almost got angry by the fact that he didn’t. Why did he leave you there?
Charles continued to focus on the race and tried his best to ignore his speeding heart every time he passed the McLaren building. Pierre on the other and would not let this go. He hurried up to Charles and stopped him in his tracks.
“What are you doing?”
“Focusing on the race, why?”
“Oh really, not ignoring a certain someone?” Pierre asked and Charles could hear the annoyance in his voice. And he hated that Pierre was right.
“No, why?” he lied.
“Really? So, you looking at (Y/N) with those puppy eyes was nothing.”
Charles swallowed hard and tried to look unbothered by Pierre’s remark but his red cheeks and ears betrayed him.
“Why don’t you act on it, mon ami?”
Pierre had to leave him because he had to walk the track as well. Charles let out a sigh, he knew Pierre was right. He did want to act on his feelings, but he was afraid. The what if’s haunted him, making him nervous, which was unusual for him.
The track walking had gone well for Lando. He was super focused and it felt like he was going to do a fantastic race here as well. You walked back to the McLaren building, making yourself ready to take Daniel on his round. You looked out the window to see Charles discussing something with Carlos.
Fuck, you thought, as you had to walk past them to get to Daniel, so you mustered up all the confidence that you could find within yourself and went out. Charles had his back against you so Carlos would be the first to notice you.
“Hello.” you smiled at Carlos as you got closer to them.
“Hello.” he greeted you politely. Charles turned around when he heard your voice.
“Hey.” Charles said, but you didn’t dare to look at him for too long. You could feel your cheeks become flustered just by greeting him. Him on the other hand had his eyes on you the whole time as you walked away. Carlos followed his gaze to see what had gotten his attention.
“Do you know her?”
“Wha-... Who?” Charles said, trying his best to disguise his flustered state. Carlos just laughed at him and patted him on the back.
You walked up to Daniel.
“Ready to walk the track?”
“Sure thing.” he said and snaked an arm around your shoulders. You smiled at him and the two of you started walking towards the track. Daniel saw that Charles was looking at you and Daniel brought you closer to him, trying to protect you from his gaze. Charles' expression soured by Daniel’s action, but this made him determined to do something about his feelings. He was not going to let you go.
The walk with Daniel was different from Lando’s. Daniel was more relaxed but nonetheless as focused as Lando. You took notes and asked him different questions, standard procedure.
“I think that’s it.” you said.
“Great! It’s soon time for dinner, are you coming?”
“Not yet, I’m going to take a walk before dinner.” you said. You felt the need to be alone for a moment. Daniel nodded and hugged you from the side before he took off. You walked back to the McLaren building and took your bag. The weather was nice and your mind needed to be alone for a while. You got out of the building, stealing a glance at the Ferrari building, which made your heart feel heavy. But you couldn’t dwell on it too much, maybe it wasn’t meant to be.
Comotion was heard from the Ferrari building, drawing your attention towards the crowd that exited. Charles was in the crowd with his sunglasses. But you couldn’t stop staring at him and how good he looked in that red shirt. As if he felt that someone was looking at him, his head turned towards you and you quickly focused on the ground.
His eyes were still on you and he took off his sunglasses to get a better look at you. You looked up again and met his eyes. Electricity sparkled inside your body when you met his hazel eyes, you almost felt hypnotised by him and felt how your body wanted to go to him. It was drawn to him, like a magnet. He smiled at you, making his damn dimples visible again. You almost couldn’t take it, your heart almost couldn’t take it. But you smiled back. Charles broke off the gaze when someone called for him and you woke up from your trance. You tightened your grip around your bag and started to walk towards the exit.
Charles saw how you were leaving.
It’s now or never, he thought and tried to catch up with you. You felt a presence behind you and to your surprise - and delight - it was Charles.
“Hey.” he said.
“Hello.” you greeted him. His eyes locked with yours again and he completely forgot what he was going to do. His mind became completely blank and all he could focus on was you. You were the only one he wanted to focus on. His body wanted to get closer, his hands wanted to touch you and he could feel his eyes flicker between your eyes and your lips. His hazel eyes drew you in and you could see all the emotions that were fighting inside of him.
“How did your track walk go?” you asked. His mind woke up from the sound of your voice.
“It went well, I think I’m ready for tomorrow's practice round.”
“I like the sound of it.” you smirked. He let out a sigh.
“Are you going somewhere?”
“Yeah I needed some air and to see something else than the tracks.”
“Well I know a few places, if you want me to join you?” his eyes looked at you hopefully but they also showed a bit of worry. Worry of rejection. Worry that you were mad at him for being such a coward towards you.
“I would love to.” you beamed. He held out his arm for you. You linked it with his, feeling the electricity spark again when you touched him.
“Can we stop by the hotel so I can get changed?” you asked.
“Of course.”
He had his Ferrari parked nearby and opened the door for you. You thanked him, before he started the car and you drove towards the hotel. The two of you talked about how he felt about the practice round tomorrow and how he was feeling for the race on sunday. He had a steady grip on the steering wheel, but he wanted to lay one hand on top of your knee, but he didn’t dare to. He didn’t know how you were feeling. Finally at the hotel, you said that you would meet at the lobby in 30 minutes. You rushed to your room as fast as the elevator would let you and tried to find something that fitted for your date… Wait, was this a date?
You couldn’t dwell too much on the idea, but it was still in the back of your head when you walked towards the elevator. Charles was already in the lobby when you exited the elevator.
“Ready to go?” he asked.
“Absolutely.” you said and he held out his arm for you to take. He guided you to his Ferrari and opened the door for you. You thanked him and he drove you around the area, talking about everything and nothing. You laughed and his jokes and shrieked when he sped up with his car. He gave you a smug smile over how excited you were.
“Are you hungry?” he asked when he pulled up his car in the small city.
“Starving.”
“Good, cause I know a place.”
The two of you got out of the car and he guided you down the road to a restaurant that looked adorable.
“They have delicious food.”
“Sounds perfect.”
The waiter showed you a table that looked over the town. It was beautiful and you looked over at Charles. He was wearing his sunglasses so you couldn’t quite see what he was looking at. But his eyes were on you, admiring how you looked at everything with such awe and wonder. Like everything fascinated you to some degree and he liked that. Something distracted you, making you turn your head away from Charles. He took this as an opportunity to move closer to you. He put his arm on the backrest of your chair and when you turned your attention back to him, you noticed that he was closer. He had his hand on the table and your mind was thinking. This is exactly like the dinner last week… But you didn’t put your hand over his this time. The waiter came back with your drinks and took your orders for dinner. Charles then turned his attention back to you, contemplating if he should touch your shoulder like he had done on the dinner. Then a pang of guilt washed over him when he remembered the dinner.
“You look beautiful, (Y/N).”
His comment made you jump in surprise and you turned towards him, but you could also feel how you got flustered over it.
“Thank you, so do you. But you always do.” you said with a smirk on your face. Knowing that you said the exact same thing last week and he remembered. He had had that sentence in his head ever since that evening. That you thought he looked good. He cleared his throat.
“Listen, I need to tell you something.”
You wanted to play cool, but that phrase just made your body react in a fight-or-flight mode.
“Yes?”
“About the dinner… I was… I was going too... '' Charles stuttered, feeling his whole face turning flustered. He was probably a deep crimson color at the moment.
“You don’t have to-...” you tried to interrupt but your tongue got stuck when you felt his hand on top of your knee.
“I really wanted to talk to you after that dinner, but...”
“But?”
“But I was afraid.”
“Afraid?” you said dumbfounded. “Of what?”
“That you would reject me.”
Your heart melted over his words. How could this even be real? How could he, Charles Leclerc, be afraid of you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), rejecting him?
“Why would I ever reject you?” you whispered. He took off his sunglasses to get a better look at you. He wanted to be sure that you were honest with him. And nothing about your body language or eyes told him otherwise.
“I could’ve talked to you too, but I was scared that you would think I was annoying for reaching out.”
“Annoying?” he said, confused. “You couldn’t be annoying. If you had reached out to me I would’ve been more than happy to answer.”
“Really?” you beamed.
“Of course. You have already been on my mind since the dinner party.” he confessed, feeling his cheeks burn even more. Your smile couldn’t get bigger, were you hearing this in real life or was this a dream coming true?
Charles' eyes were flickering between your eyes and lips again. He leaned in and this time you had no one to interrupt your moment. The kiss you shared was sweet and full of anticipation. All the electricity that you had felt before sparked like a firework now, the butterflies in your stomach were going crazy and your whole body wanted nothing more than to be close to him. Your hand reached for his chin and his hand was pressing against your back. None of you wanted to break off the kiss, in fear of coming back to reality. But the sound of food coming your way made you break it off, looking at each other with such adoration and love that nothing could come in between the two of you. Both flustered and nervous from the kiss but also full of adrenaline and excitement. Conversation flowed as never before, you talked about the dinner and how you had felt towards Charles and vice versa.
After dinner Charles wanted to take you to the beach before you headed back to the hotel. The two of you walked hand in hand towards the ocean. You breathed in the salty air and Charles took out his phone to snatch a photo of you. He also started a slow song on spotify.
“What are you doing?” you asked as he grabbed your hand and placed the other on your lower back.
“Dancing with you.” he said, smiling with a tint of rosy cheeks. You just laughed at his sweet actions and danced with him until the sun was setting. He guided you back to the car and drove you to the hotel. When in the lobby you shared one last longing look before you had to be seperated.
“I’ll see you again?” you asked.
“Of course.” he answered and kissed you knuckles.
“And that’s a promise?”
“That is a promise, ma chérie.”
You smiled and headed for the elevator and the last thing you saw before the door closed was Charles’ flustered face and boyish grin. He was on cloud nine and beyond. He didn’t know when was the last time he had felt this in love and to know that his love was reciprocated.
Je t’aime, (Y/N). Ma chérie.

No one ever said time travel was fun. No one ever said the job was easy. And no one sure as hell told you the consequences that come with it. Well, at least not before you, and your best friend, Marty McFly, had gone dead-on through a barn, sacred a neighboring family of ‘alien invasion,’ run into younger McFly parents, and altered time just enough to fuck you over for a few days.
I mean, who would’ve guessed right? Your mom just so happens to be romantically interested in you, their child. Well, that was at least in Marty’s case. For you, you had just managed to run into the biggest dickhead of the century, Biff Tannen. Or so you thought?
Making your way out of bed, you automatically go to where Marty was sleeping in the garage, waking him along with Doc up. The go-to plan for the day was to go undercover as usual students in the 50′s, secretly following Marty’s parents around, finding out where they lie in this part of time, and try to find ways into manipulating them together once more in time for Marty and you to get back home. Easy enough, right?
Groaning, Marty goes to slap your hands away weakly, mumbling something along the lines of ‘Just a few more minutes.’ You giggle slapping his hands back in an attempt to wake him up cheerily. Mornings weren’t really your forte either, so any upbeat wake-up is better than a pissy, tired, horrible morning.
Doc, on the other hand, was happy to return the affection, getting out of bed to give a quick hug and kiss to the forehead. Then he makes his way over to the bed, going to tickle Marty’s feet as you go to tickle his sides. Finally, in a fit of laughter, Marty gets up and goes straight for the bathroom. You were going to argue him, having to use the bathroom first, but decide to just leave it be, heading for the makeshift kitchen instead.
You smile fondly as Doc and Marty play around a while later, wrestling about, cracking jokes. It was only just a few hours ago that you and Marty had witnessed the untimely death of the currently very lively man in the house. Witnessing the blood loss, the machine gun in action, and the bullets that whizzed pass with only one malicious intent: to kill. But he’s here now; he’s safe and sound, having many years until that date will arrive.
With the freshly cooked smell of eggs, toast, and pancakes, the boys straighten up, Doc clearing his throat in an attempt to organize himself, and Marty leaving his shirt ruffled as he follows the smell of deliciousness. You giggle as both men of different ages act exactly the same, piling their plates high and digging in, giving thanks through mouthfuls.
///LATER///
After breakfast had finished, you and Marty made your way to the school, not wanting to be late, and, quite frankly, not wanting to miss a second in the disaster we’re in, wanting to fix it as soon as possible. Upon entering, the building erupts in laughter, tears, screaming, perfume, cologne, aftershave, and lots and lots of both testosterone and estrogen. Fucking high school, you smile.
Going to “your locker” right besides “Marty’s,” you both place the books and supplies that are unneeded inside it and take only the things you need for the first two classes, somehow having those together. As Marty catches glimpse of his father, George McFly, he winks at you, moving to catch up to him. Rolling your eyes playfully, you turn back towards your locker, just barely missing a group of young men some ways down the hallway, locking eyes with a particularly taller man, towering almost everyone in the halls.
You pay no mind, however, being blindsided by three girls your age. Instantly, you recognize the one right in front as Lorraine, Marty’s mother. Smiling nervously, your cheeks tint only a little, being unprepared to see her so quickly, not yet having a plan made up on how you could help tackle the situation with Marty.
“Hiya! I’ve never seen you before, are you new here? I’m Lorraine Baines, and you are?” she asks cheerfully, her books clasped tightly to her chest.
Taking an obnoxiously long time staring dumbfounded, you finally realize you haven’t spoken, quickly recovering with newfound purpose and confidence, “Ah, yes! I am new here! Sorry, I’m just trying to get used to this place a tiny bit. I’m Y/N Y/L/N.”
“Well that’s quite alright, you can come with us!” she says once more in a cheery tone, taking you by the arm and lacing her arm around yours, locked elbows. You smiled, knowing exactly where Marty’s cheerful and people-person nature had come from. Walking down the halls, she had asked for my schedule, checking classes to see what we had together, “English, History, and Agriculture- Hey! You should try out for cheer leading!”
Shaking your head lightly, “Nah, I’m more of a Y/C/S myself to be frank.”
“But...We don’t have that sport here? There are no girls sports at all actually...” Lorraine says confused. You go to cover it up, choosing to say it was a sport you play for fun at home, in the backyard. However, a beefy arm separates you momentarily from her, as the owner of the harm moves to pin her to the lockers.
You were going to walk away, figuring it was some sort of make-out session in the works, but upon looking at her before going, you notice that the man was absurdly unwanted.
“Get your meathooks off me Biff!” she screams at the man, his huge form towering her much smaller one. Not taking the message, the pair continue to squabble, neither of them being successful in winning. The warning bell sounds over the halls and classrooms, alarming kids to get their asses moving, but it seems whoever this dick is, he feels he is greater than the school, and god forbid, knowledge.
“Hey, you do realize your not making a damn bit a difference, right? She’s not interested! And, quite frankly, it seems as if no one does! Now, if you don’t mind, could you please be kind enough to unhand her as some of us treasure a piece of mind and how to take a hint?” you finish, quite ticked off as the last bell warns, cursing under your breath as you already know your in for detention on the first day.
It finally seems that he’d caught a grip, thankfully, letting go of Lorraine’s arm and she quickly scurries out of his proximity, taking your hand to lead you to the class you both needed to be in. As you go to walk in, you are stopped by the teacher, scolding both you and Lorraine. Looking at her regrettably, she smiles defeated. So you decide to do what’s right, take the fall.
“I’m sorry sir, I didn’t know where to go as I was trying to find where all of my classes were before I ended up lost every time classes switch. I caught up to Lorraine here at some point, and as she was hurrying to this class, she was kind enough to show me where I needed to be,” you finish, sighing guiltily.
“Well, as you’ve taken acknowledgment to your mistake, then you’d be just as happy with detention. After school, on Friday, as the first week is extremely busy. As for you, Miss Baines, thank you for your help. You are off the hook for now,” the older gentleman finishes, nodding to each of you personally before turning around and beginning just one of the classes you’d have today. This is going to be fun!
///LATER///
Finally, after grueling hours of just a few of your classes, lunchtime had came round, giving you a slight break. Catching sight of Lorraine, you smile and wave, going in the direction of Marty, or Calvin Klein, as you’d heard Lorraine go on and on about. You’d known it was him the second she’d said it, the brand not yet known to man yet; or at least in this timeline, it wasn’t.
As time had went on, it was only natural for the peace to be broken, as a newly familiar face was starting to appear more and more, Biff Tannen, as you’d known his name by now. But, instead of heading towards Lorraine, he makes his way over to the table you were residing with George and Marty, sitting himself right beside you.
At first, you were trying to ignore him, knowing his presence was there, but keeping your eyes trained on either Marty or George, eyes dancing between the two. Biff, being the everlasting child he was, tried to catch you attention, trying stupid ass things after the other: kicking your shins, pulling your ears of hair, flicking your head, and even trying to tug on the 50′s style dress you’d been forced to wear to play your part.
Only when he goes to tug your hair once more is when you finally snap, turning a furious glare to the hulking figure beside you, shoving his shoulder in a feeble attempt to create distance. He giggles at this, his body not moving an inch at all. “You can’t be serious right now! You don’t know when to quit it, do you?!” you scream, fed up with his shit.
“Well, if you’d give me the human decency of turning your head when I’m trying to talk to you, then I wouldn’t have to pester you, now would I?” he asks in a teasing tone, no doubt taunting you, but all you do is stare him down, getting lost in a staring contest, daring him to say something again. “Alls I wanted to say was that we have detention together. Just thought I’d let you know since you got me in all that trouble this morning.”
“Why you-!” And with that, he gets up with a shit-eating grin plastered to his face, prancing out of view and back to the table he and his gang usually sit. Watching the whole interaction, George smirks at Marty, the pair giving an unspoken mutual agreement to whatever they had both caught on to, bursting into fits of laughter moments later.
“You have a longer tolerance than I do, I-I-I’ll tell you that much,” George says, his usual slight stutter back in place, Marty laughing once more. As George joins in again, you couldn’t fight it either, giving into the childish antics.
///LATER///
To say your week had gotten any better than the first day was a lie. It hadn’t gotten any better, and your meetings with Biff at lunch had only gotten all the more common and all the more infuriating. He’d made it his duty to agitate you in any ways possible, even resulting in whispering something nagging in your ear when you weren’t paying attention, usually doing something in your locker.
Either way, he was on the countdown to Friday, it being constantly on his mind, mentally counting down the days, hours, minutes, and even seconds until the two of you were locked in a room alone.
Unfortunately, that day had seemed to come way faster than you’d like, Friday rolling around quite quickly. School had finished, and you were making your way to the front office, awaiting a tiring 2 hours with only yourself and Biff as company for the time being. You hadn’t known where the room was, and instead of spending time looking for it, you gave up and looked for the office instead, the nice front desk lady leading you where you needed to go.
Upon entering the room, there was Biff in his prime, casually spread across his chair, legs crossed atop his desk nearest the windows. Sighing, you ignore him, deciding to sit on the opposite side of him, the front desk lady giving you a sympathetic smile before she closes the door behind her. You look at the wall, head turned away from him like the plague.
You knew it’d only last so long until he’d speak, the time coming way faster than you pleased. Given it was Friday, you couldn’t even do homework or even study in order to block him out as he started to blabber, running his mouth over stupid shit once more. Inhaling through your nose, and exhaling through your mouth slowly, you straighten in your seat, hands clutching the desk so tight, your fists turned white.
“Biff, Sweetheart, Baby, Doll Face, Hun. Please. PLEASE. Shut up for five god damn seconds. I know you truly have nothing to say, so why do you insist on speaking so much?” you finally say, hands prying off the desk to turn in his direction exasperated.
“Well, if you’d just talk to me, Shortcake, I wouldn’t have much to say at random,” he answers, copying your actions and posture. With this change in childish demeanor, you give in, laughing at him in an unexpected rush, running your hands through your hair tiredly.
Although you hadn’t seen it, he’d smiled in satisfaction upon seeing you laugh, the glitter in your eyes much more captivating than it ever was when he looked at Lorraine. He hadn’t barely pestered her since you’d barreled into his life. It was weird, but he welcomed it with open arms. And for the first time, he learned what it was like to have an actual, clammy-handed, closed throat, warm, cheek-tinted, teenage crush. A crush that left his heartbeat loud and fast, breathing ragged and uneven, and his behavior out of character and out of his control. Lorraine was way under whatever level he’d placed you on, holding you up on a pedestal like you were the sun or sky.
Of course, you hadn’t taken notice to his antics, just thinking he was annoying. Just Biff being his notorious self. But, as you finally calm your breathing down, the giggles fading, you decide to give him a chance, knowing that sitting in silence is just going bore you. Smiling warmly, you say, “So what do you want to talk about then?”
///LATER///
Grabbing your bag, you get out of your seat, giggling at a story Biff had told you. He follows your lead as well, getting his own as he lets out a bark of laughter at a certain part. You guys looked like idiots as you shoved each other down the halls, making your way out of the school as your detention had came to a close. Sighing as the warm sun radiated on your skin with the light, spring breeze, you stretch out any kinks the classroom chairs and desks had left. Biff watched you intently, your small body easily swallowed by his shadow beside you.
The sun was setting and it was getting late, although you weren’t concerned. The boys knew you wouldn’t be home ‘til late due to the detention you had initially despised. Now, you and Biff were side by side, walking peacefully to his car in the school’s parking lot. For once, he was quiet, great company to have. It was something else for sure, but you enjoyed it. As you came up towards Doc’s place, you’d realized that Biff had drove you home like a gentleman, too lost in the conversation to notice earlier on.
Sheepishly, you itch the back of your neck, realizing your mistake and feeling guilty for making him walk all this way to now have to walk all the way home. “Ah- Sorry...I didn’t realize I’d dragged you all the way out here. Now you have to drive all the way back.”
“It’s no problem, really. I liked it. It’s nice to talk to someone other than the guys every now and then. And to have A female speak to me instead of screaming,” he answers, now being the one who is a bit shy.
“You do know that you bring that on yourself right?” you say teasingly, now leaning your head on your hands, propped up on the passenger side door. “Not every girl would want to kick you in the groin if you showed a little more respect, “ you finish off with a smile.
“Yeah...Yeah I know. I’ll try harder, I swear.”
“That’s all I ask,” you say with a wink, drumming your hands on the door as you take a step back, waving as you start walking down Doc’s driveway.
“Hey!” Biff calls from the car, stopping you in your tracks to turn around, facing him with a smile. “Uhm- Well- The Enchantment Under the Sea Dance is coming up next week...Would you mind being my date?” he asks, stuttering as he feels his cheeks heat up, nervous as hell.
“I’d love to!” you answer, turning back around to walk into the house. Biff does a little fist bump as he puts the car back in gear, excited for what is to come.
///
Marty was a little less than amused with this newfound knowledge once entering the door and going over the events of the day. It was only when Doc had suggested that the date with Biff would keep him away from Lorraine, giving George the freeway to attract her long enough for their True Love’s Kiss. Then, and only then, did Marty give the okay, shaking his head, but liking the fact that it’ll give George some time, being the nerd that you know and love.
///Enchantment Under the Sea Dance///
Checking yourself over in the mirror for the final time, you let out a nervous yet satisfied sigh, feeling like an absolute princess. You never minded dresses too much, although you couldn’t deny the fact that normal pair of shorts, jeans, or even leggings were your first choice. All that mattered was that you liked the dress you were wearing, it fit you; it was your favorite color, length, and strap(less) type to hold everything in.
Walking out, you grab the pair of heels to match, knowing that you couldn’t get away with sneakers in this generation, painfully grimacing at the reminder. Finally standing, you recount when you had gotten the dress just a few days ago, having gone with Lorraine and the her two friends, Babs and Betty. They were very endearing and supportive the whole time, you not having to worry about being “to picky” as they were just the same. You ended up loving the dress given that you’d taken the time without pressure.
As you walked into the main room of the garage, you heard a low whistle of Marty, Doc slapping him on the back of the head for it. Giggling, you curtsy and spin in the dress. Doc, the gentleman he always was, compliments you, “You look amazing, my dear. Let’s hope this boy deserves it, hmm?”
As an answer, you hug him tightly, knowing that, by the end of the night, he will be nothing but a dead man at home, in a lonely, dark parking lot. Your eyes tear up just at the mere thought of it, clutching him tighter. Marty seems to be on the same wavelength, going to interrupt the moment with great urgency, trying to pass him a piece of paper.
“Marty, if this has anything that involves my future, do not. And I repeat, DO NOT try to hand it to me. Whatever happens, happens young man. That’s how the world works,” he says in a warning tone. You wanted to disagree, but you knew the truth that was laced beneath it, as if it was a punishment. You whimper instead, pulling him in tighter; Marty looking down in defeat, soon switching to anger. In the midst of it, he storms out of the garage, getting in the car to go pick up who you’d hope was Lorraine for the dance.
“Just let him go...” you start, sadness evident, “He’s just not very happy with the outcome of what the future has in store for you. Quite frankly, neither am I.”
“I’m sure whatever the outcome is, that I wanted to go with it, dear. I assure you, I’m fine,” Doc answers in a consoling tone, wiping the tears that had slipped from your eyes. You knew it was just a mask, no one wants death, but you knew he needed to go no matter how much you hated it. So you nod, not having to say much more as a honk sounds from outside.
“That’s Biff...”
“Have a great time! Make sure the McFlys kiss!” Doc screams, following out of the garage, scolding Biff from behind you.
“Yes sir!” you scream back, saluting him as you take a seat in the passenger.
///
“You look beautiful Y/N,” Biff says after a while, finally working up the courage to speak.
“Thank you Biff. And you look handsome yourself,” you giggle, the car pulling into the lot.
He shuts the engine, grabbing his keys from the ignition and closing the door, making his way around to you as you let yourself out to straighten yourself out. He takes your hand as he leads you to the entrance of the dance, you sighing in relief as you catch a glimpse of Marty pulling up in a car with Lorraine. Finally, you relax, grasping on Biff a little lighter and with more meaning now as you have the night to yourselves. He smiles down at you as you wrap your arm within his, something Lorraine does with you quite often.
With the party in full blast, you let loose with the music, dancing and joking around with Biff. At some point, however, he says he needs a drink and will be right back. Although, he doesn’t seem to actually come back. You’d thought you’d seen him spiking the punch just as few moments ago.
Just as you were going to in the direction of the hallways to the rest of the school, you notice Match, one of Biff’s friends, storming out of the gym through an exit. Taking your bets, you follow behind him, soon being greeted by a huge commotion of screams, all of them from familiar people. Biff was in a car with Lorraine, her dress pulled and taken off in parts. He was no doubt about to do something stupid, the fact pissing you off, saddening you in some ways as well.
The others that were screaming were also George and Marty, the pair trying to get Biff to stop before he regrets it. He doesn’t listen, unfortunately, until your voice booms over the rest, “Biff!”
His head snaps instantly in your direction, the situation dawning on him the instant he looks at your face. You hadn’t meant to portray your emotions so clearly, but your face had shown such distraught and hurt. He lied. He had gotten over Lorraine, yet the moment she was alone, he runs right back to her.
With his momentary change of focus, George finally steps in, “You get your filthy hands off of her!” finishing with a blow to the jaw that knocks Biff off balance.
Marty looks to you sadly, but tries to smile in cheers as George and Lorraine leave together, motioning that he was going to follow them just in case. You nod, looking down now as your play with your fingers. You didn’t know what to do now as the only reason you were really here was for Biff. You weren’t needed for Lorraine and George, you knew Marty had it.
You decide to make your way home then, as there was nothing else you could do. Dances were just drags anyway, nothing worth while. “Your just going to leave? Just like that?” asks a deep voice, his body having gotten back off the pavement and stood by the car he was pinned against.
Without turning, you answer his question with another, “Why not? There’s nothing left here for me is there?”
“And why wouldn’t there be?” Biff asks once more, no doubt ticking you off at his usual teasing tone.
“Well, let’s see. You. You asked me to the dance as your plus one. I came here as your date. We have a good time, we dance, we talk, and then you come up with an ‘Oh I need a drink’ charade, not returning. Then, I come to find my date in the parking lot, about to get his licks in on a woman he was apparently over with! So tell me, what is left here for men here, Biff?” you finish, tears pooling your eyes over the time, although you don’t let the fall, keeping them there.
He looks guilty, you can see it, but you don’t care. Your not in the wrong this time. But, as your blood starts to cool down, you do notice the look in his eyes, the change in his demeanor, and the utter remorse that has overcome him. He has his head down, fists clenched at his sides, body stock still. He doesn’t know what to do, all he knows is that he’d fucked up.
“Or was this your fabulous way of telling me that you love me?” you finally ask, eyes moving to look up at him in a teasing manner.
He hadn’t expected you to speak, head snapping up to meet your gaze in confusion. Being as you’d looked at him with a glint in your eyes, he finally lets everything click together; you’d forgiven him. His face heats up in bashfulness however, as your words resonated within him as well, hand going to itch the back of his neck again.
You giggle, walking up to him now, hands going to his collar. Pulling him down, he gazes at you in amazement, his own hands falling to rest on your waist. Then, you crash your lips to his, pulling him ever closer. It takes him a moment to get the hang of it, soon pulling you closer to himself as well. Lifting you slightly, he sets you on the hood of his car, the height difference a definite stretch for him. But he wouldn’t have it any other way, you were perfect. Just the same as he was perfect for you.

*emerges from the depths of the aib fandom*
Hello :>
So, I was scrolling the other day on tumblr, and i found a person that has fanarts of aib (mainly with those two psychos from the J♡. But hey, there's also stuff with chishiya and kuzuryuu. Unfortunately, there's no stuff with hatter or other characters up there), and i happened to stumble upon a sketchy fanart of chishiya chilling on a couch and holding an angry hedgehog, that turns out to be kuzuryuu. And now I'm thinking about a grumpy hedgehog kuzu chilling on chishiya's head while searching for hatter since he's the one that turned him into a smol spiky animal when he was sleeping in the first place, and with no other thing than the magical pills that he uses to turn into a duck/peacock whenever he wants.
And if you don't mind it, or if you'll have time, can you do that as well?
you had me until "kuzuryuu as a hedgehog" and hoo boy did it get wild from there
.......but I still did a little something for it.

Shit, Okay, I Guess We're Doing This To Kuzuryuu Too
Rating: PG

It's Aguni's day off.
...Okay, he doesn't really get days off in the Borderlands, but this is as close to a day off as he can manage. No early meetings, no training or patrols scheduled. It's a rare day where he can sleep in and not have to scream at anyone before breakfast. (Not unless he wants to scream at anyone before breakfast, of course.)
So, naturally, after very excitedly going to bed at a reasonable hour with the intention to be unconscious until long after the sun comes up, he gets a knock on the door.
At three in the morning.
He's too angry to be angry; too annoyed to be annoyed. Murphy's Law applies to the Borderlands as well, and there's nothing he can do to escape it.
So he opens the door and accepts a note, three words scribbled messily onto the paper with blue ink.
Help.
Pill.
Hedgehog.
And it's signed at the bottom with a "K."
Only one person in this whole damn place would make sure their distress note was appropriately punctuated and aligned in business letter format—Kuzuryuu. And the fact that Kuzuryuu is in enough trouble to send a note instead of walking the ten steps it takes to get to Aguni's room and explaining it himself means something has gone terribly, inconveniently wrong.
Also, the words 'pill' and 'hedgehog' inspire a disgusting swirl of discomfort in the pit of Aguni's stomach. The Wizard of the Borderlands has struck again, but why would Kuzuryuu take the pill in the first place? The first two events were nightmares, and last time...well, they don't even talk about last time.
So Aguni has no choice but to throw on a robe and go next door to check on the man. He lets himself in (one of the few times the 'no locks rule' at the Beach has come in handy) and waits until the door is completely call out.
"Kuzuryuu? You here?"
A high-pitched sigh comes from the left.
"Yes," Kuzuryuu's voice says, an octave higher than usual and a little quiet in the spacious room, "Over here, on the table."
"Oh."
Sure enough, beneath the golden glow of a table lamp sits a round little creature about the length of a bank note, it's beady eyes framed by an itty-bitty pair of reading glasses.
It's terribly adorable.
"Mhmm."
"You're...very little."
"I am."
Aguni's face softens a little.
"It must've been hard to write the note."
"You did a good job, though," He says, "Very legible."
"It took forty-five minutes," Kuzuryuu confirms. "I kept losing control of the pen."
The pen in question lies next to the creature—why it must almost be the size of Kuzuryuu's new rodent body. Aguni shudders at the thought of using a six-foot-tall pen.
"Thank you."
The little hedgehog shifts his miniscule glasses up his nose.
"I—why, yes. Yes, it did."
"Before you ask: yes, I met the wizard. I don't really want to get into all the details, but he gave me pills. Like the bird ones Hatter keeps getting, but mine are obviously different." the spines on Kuzuryuu's back flutter in annoyance, "Anyways, I had a hell of a migraine pop up and mistook the wizard pills for my pain medication and ended up like this."
"Did your headache go away?"
"Indeed. But I'd very much like to turn back into my normal self, so if you could—"
"At least it wasn't a complete loss, i guess?"
The hedgehog furrows his little brow.
"Oh. Right. Yeah, I can get you the pills."
"They're on the bathroom counter. I trust you remember what the bottle looks like?"
Aguni scoffs.
"Wish I didn't."
And he walks the short distance to the bathroom and sees the bottle of wizard pills on the counter. There is also another, very similar bottle next to it, which must have been the medication Kuzuryuu had been looking for.
"I hate to trouble you further," Kuzuryuu says as Aguni re-enters the room with the pills in hand, "but I need you to help me get back to the bed. I barely made it over here in the first place."
"Uh...yeah. Okay." Aguni looks nervous, "Those spikes aren't gonna stab me, are they?"
"No. That would only happen if I was trying to protect myself from a predator. You should be able to handle me without injury."
"Okay."
Aguni leaves the wizard pills on the end table. Technically, as the 2 to his 3, Kuzuryuu is his boss. Would carrying him to bed negatively affect their working relationship? That would be inconvenient.
"I'm, uh," Aguni says, slowly reaching for Kuzuryuu's tiny hedgehog body, "I'm just gonna, uh, scoop you up real quick and..."
"Not to be weird," Aguni says, "but you're cute like this."
His hands are cupped to cradle the little creature who would probably fit in one of Aguni's palms had he been a more competent animal hadler. Very gently, as if he was holding a sleeping kitten, Aguni lifts the hedgehog from the end table and over the mattress.
"Oh, yeah, the spikes aren't a problem at all," Aguni comments. He smiles a little. "It's kinda nice."
"Not to be rude," Kuzuryuu says nervously, "but I...do not enjoy heights."
Aguni quickly places him down gingerly against one of the pillows and, before he can stop himself, drags the sheet up to cover the lower half of the little mammal's body.
"That was very weird," Kuzuryuu replies, "but I appreciate the sentiment."
Aguni opens the pill bottle on the nightstand and taps out a pink pill—he hates that he knows the pink ones are human pills, and he dreads the next time Hatter calls him over to untwist the childproof cap off of his personal supply.
"Thank you for all of this," Kuzuryuu says as he's handed the pill. He holds it between his tiny hands, ready to pop it into his mouth and begin the transformation back to his normal self.
"No trouble," Aguni says. He means it, mostly. This has been his least dramatic run-in with the wizard's strange pharmaceuticals, and it's nice to have one of these events go smoothly.
"I'll leave you to it," Aguni says after a moment. He rises from where he had been seated on the edge of the bed, readjusting his robe so that it hugs his tired body more snugly.
"I appreciate it. We know how...disturbing these transformations can be," Kuzuryuu laments. "So, anyways, goodnight. And thank you again."
"Like I said, no problem. Hope you feel better soon."
With nothing more to say, Aguni leaves Kuzuryuu's room and trudges back to his own. It's only a quarter past three, which means he has plenty of time to get back to bed and enjoy and extended rest.
Maybe he'll pretend this was all a dream, he thinks as he lets the robe drop to the floor and he tucks his tired body back into the embrace of his bed. A weird dream that wasn't a nightmare, but definitely wasn't great, either.
And when Aguni dozes back off, he dreams of hedgehogs.
#insomnia is kicking my ass so thats why i got this done lmao#writings and such#alice in borderland#kuzuryuu keiichi#aguni morizono#i know i make him the first responder for these wizard pill stories but i feel like hed be good with it#like if i got a bird pill id call him too idk it just feels right

“Alright princess what are we coloring?” Jay walked over to Ava who was sitting at the kitchen table coloring. Jay placed a juice box in front of Ava before slightly lifted her to sit her on his lap.
“A picture for Mommy.” Ava took a sip of her juice before continuing to color. After a few minutes of coloring with Jay, Ava spoke up again. “Daddy, I want a sibling.”
Jay stopped coloring as he was in complete shock at what his daughter had just said. “You want a little brother or sister?” Ava nodded her head as she continues to color. Jay took that as his cue to let it be as he was still a little shocked about the conversation.
You had planned on being home for dinner tonight, but there was a pile-up on the highway, and the ED was flooded with patients. So, instead, you grabbed a quick snack in-between patients. It was now 7 pm and you were finally on your way out and you couldn’t wait to get home to your husband and daughter. As you headed out of the ED, you said goodbye to both Maggie and April and scurried out of the ED so you couldn’t be stopped by anyone else. After a 20min drive, you pulled into the driveway next to Jay’s truck and quickly headed into the house. The moment you walked into the house, laughter and screams filled the room which caused the smile on your face to grow even bigger.
You leaned against the doorway to the living room to see Jay on the floor tickling your daughter. “Daddy! Let me go!” Your daughter screamed as she tried to get out of Jay’s grip. Seeing Jay with your daughter made your heart swell in your chest. When you had found out you were pregnant with your daughter, both you and Jay had just gotten married and hadn’t planned on having kids so soon into your marriage, but the universe had other plans for the two of you.
“Mommy!” Ava managed to get out of Jay’s grip, sprinted around the couch, and hid behind your legs.
“Torching our daughter again?” You smirked at Jay as he rounded the couch to stand in front of you. You uncrossed your arms from your chest before rubbing your daughter's back.
“I would never.” As you turned around, you bent over and holstered Ava up on your hip. Jay reached over and tickled your daughter one last time.
“Daddy!” Ava wiggled around in your hands causing you to let out a small chuckle.
“Well now that you tickled her to death, I think it’s time for a bath.” Your daughter's face lit up like a Christmas tree. Ava loved taking baths she always has since she was a baby. “What do you say? You want mommy or daddy to give you a bath?"
“I want…” Ava paused for a moment, pretending to think who she was going to choose, even though you know actually who she was going to choose. “I want Daddy.” Ava reached out for Jay which he took as his cue to take her from your arms.
“Such a daddy’s girl.” You mumbled underneath your breath as a smirk formed on Jay and you knew he heard you.
“Don’t worry. Your still my number one girl.” Jay whispered against your ear as he walked past you and up the stairs.
“Ha. Yeah right. She’s got you wrapped around her finger real tight.” You chuckled as you headed into the living to see toys all over the floor. The place had looked like a mini-tornado had ripped through the small living space, which technically your daughter was a mini-tornado.
Once Ava was settled in the bathtub, Jay handed Ava her toys before sitting down on the floor. Jay loved being a father and to be honest he never thought he would become a father let alone a husband. Jay has had some rocky past relationships that he never thought he would find someone, but then you came along, and it changed everything. The first time the two of you meet was when you were a resident at Med, and he was a patrol officer and he had brought in a victim that needed medical attention. Jay smiled as he watched Ava splash around in the tub.
After Ava finished her bath, the two of them went into her bedroom to change her into PJs. “Okay, which Pjs, do you want to wear tonight?” Jay set Ava down on her bed with her still wrapped in a towel.
“Frozen.” Ava chirped up with a smile on her face. Frozen was of course Ava’s favorite movie at the moment, actually, any Disney movie was her favorite movie, but Frozen was number one at the moment.
“Of course, that’s the one you pick.” Jay let out a soft chuckle while grabbing the Frozen PJs from the top drawer of the dresser. Jay walked over to Ava and changed her into her PJs then moved on her comb her hair.
Once Jay finished with Ava’s hair, she went over to her bookshelf to pick out her bedtime story. “I wanna read this one.” Ava handed Jay a book before jumping on the bed.
“Okay, this one it is.” Jay pulled back the cover on the bed as Ava crawled to the top of the bed. Once Ava was settled underneath the covers, Jay sat next to her and started reading to her. Ava was 100% a daddy’s girl and Jay knew it and loved it.
While Jay was doing Ava’s bedtime routine, you had cleaned up the living room which had toys all over the floor then you had moved on to the kitchen which had dished piled high. After finishing the dishes, you headed upstairs to check on Jay and Ava. As you stopped outside of Ava’s bedroom, you leaned against the doorframe with your arms against your chest as you saw Jay laying the bed with Ava reading her a bedtime story. Ava was curled up against Jay’s side as he quietly read her favorite book. Jay was an amazing dad and husband, and you couldn’t imagine your life without him. After watching Jay for a few more seconds, you pushed yourself away from the doorframe and headed into the bedroom you shared with Jay. You headed into the bathroom, stripped out of your scrubs, and changed into a pair of shorts along with one of Jay’s old shirts.
You exited the bathroom to see Jay walking into the bedroom. “Oh, yeah. She not daddy’s little princess.” You smirked to yourself as Jay closed the door behind him.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jay placed the baby monitor on top of the dresser before coming up behind you and wrapping his arms around your waist. “No need to be jealous. Like I said earlier, your still my number girl.” Jay whispered.
“I’m not jealous of a three-year-old.” You leaned back in his arms just as Jay placed a soft kiss on the back of your head.
“So, I had an interesting conversation with our daughter today.” Jay unwrapped his arms from your waist, before stripping out of his flannel shirt.
“Well, any conversation with Ava is interesting.” You chuckled as you sat down on the edge of the bed while watching Jay empty his pockets onto the top of the dresser.
“Oh, well this one was very interesting.” Once Jay finished empty his pockets, he turned to face you. “She wants a sibling.”
“Oh.” Honestly, you weren’t shocked that Ava wants a sibling, she was an only child, and she has mentioned it a few times before. The truth was you have been thinking about having more kids lately, you just haven’t had the chance to talk to Jay about it, but maybe now was the perfect time.
“Oh? That all you got?” Jay crossed his arms against his chest while raising an eyebrow at you.
“Well,” you paused for a moment trying to gather your thoughts. “Maybe it’s time.”
“Are you saying what I think you're saying?” Jay uncrossed his arms while sitting down next to you.
You turned to face Jay while sitting crisscross. “Honestly, I have been thinking about it a lot recently and I know we haven’t talked about it in a while and-”
“I want another one, too.” Jay reached over your lap and grab your hand. “You know I love both you and Ava more than anything and I would love nothing more than to expand our family.”
A smile grew on your face before reaching over with your free hand and cupped his face. “So, we are doing this then?”
“Yeah, we are.” Jay leaned forward and softly collide his lips with yours. You smiled through the kiss as you wrapped your arm around his neck and uncrossed your legs in the process. You continued kissing him hungrily wanting more. His hands made their way to your waist and pulled you onto his lap. You wrapped your one arm around his neck while the other arm gripped his upper arm.
“I love you.” You whispered against his lips as you slightly pulled away.
“I love you more,” Jay whispered back before reconnecting his lips to yours.

wrong medicine
a/n: weird au that i saw a blog make for a different fandom(s), basically a magic au of sorts.
sum: fem!reader gets the wrong OTC medicine and has some peculiar side effects that are difficult to handle alone until a TR character wants to help.
second pov, tall reader just bigger in general, tiny character in more ways than one, literally just something random, just having fun, lowercase intended, some soft intimate moments like two or three times, tears or whatever, breaking and entering but not really but also yes, choking??, a bit of somnophilia??, had chifuyu in mind as i wrote this but any character is oke, don’t know how to tag, whatev
after getting a new ice pack and wiping the sweat from your face, you lie on the bed with new bedsheets since the previous ones were drenched in sweat. how did it come down to this? you ask yourself with your eyes trained on the ever so interesting blank ceiling.
you only wanted to grab something to relieve your back pain, instead, you got something difficult to explain to whoever was worried and asked about your wellbeing. breathing out and turning to your side, wincing as your underwear rubs against your new body part.
for the first day, you didn't want to believe what happened, but you had to go to the bathroom. you only believed that you were in some lucid dream. except it wasn't and as the days go by, you would learn to accept it. especially after looking over the box of medicine that you got. now remembering the way the poor cashier had looked at you when scanning the medicine.
it's been nearly a week, and a week without ever seeing your lovely boyfriend. making excuses that you got sick and didn't want him to catch what you had. and your ever-so-loving boyfriend didn't fall for those attempts of ignoring him. he may be dumb, but not when it comes to you and your attention that should always be on him.
after kicking him out of your house multiple times, you had decided to stock up on some snacks that you could keep in your room and lock the door. because he, unfortunately, has a key to your house and will use it without any hesitation.
looking down after feeling your stomach hurt when thinking about your boyfriend. huffing and throw the ice pack to your nightstand and pull your underwear down, the sudden cold air having you shiver but it felt nice. sitting up and bring a hand down, you know what it is, you've played with your boyfriend long enough to know his weak spots, but this is on you. attached to you.
blinking slowly when your door suddenly flies open, your boyfriend standing there with the biggest smile after picking at the lock. gosh, he looks so tiny now that you had sprung up to drag him inside to drop him on the bed.
his eyes are wide, struggling in your hold and in your sudden action. cursing as he rubs against your dick, and then he's cursing at you. something about you can't do this, because he's mad that you've ignored him for a million years. something about taking him out on a date first. something-something. not bothering to hear his words and leave open-mouth kisses at his jawline and neck.
such an empty canvas and you are happy to paint on it. sucking on the skin as one of your hands holds both or his wrists, and the other runs down to take his pants off. raising your head to kiss his lips and catch his moans as he lifts his hips for you can take the bothersome barrier off of him.
wiping your mouth when you let go of his wrists and stare down at him, red-faced and breathless. he stares up with a loopy smile and his hands grab your neck, pulling you down with his legs leaving a space for you to be in. whispering the very words that got you going.
________
he's on his stomach, passed out from the multiple rounds and positions you had him in. but you kept going, you just had to. it was honestly the best feeling that you've ever felt, besides the feeling that you got when you shared your first kiss with him.
your tongue and fingers did no justice in just how amazing his hole was. always sucking you back in. grabbing a hold of his hips when feeling him move, waking up from the sleep he put himself in. taking a breath after leaning on your calves, making you a little lucid into what had happened. his body is red and marked, hole is still dripping from all the rounds and the time.
chuckling at seeing the night sky from the window, leaning back down to wrap your arm over his neck. hearing his gasp and tears are brimming his eyes as you arc his back, leaving a kiss on the shell of his ear and slow your hips. noise and tears fell from his lips and eyes. letting your other hand keep you up as you watch his face with the new angle, alternating on when he can breathe. freeing his neck to tilt his head back, just to kiss him after.
spotting him smiling dumbly when flipping him on his side. lying down next to him, having an arm wrap around his chest while the other hand pushed his ass flushed against you. kissing his neck and he moves a hand to hold yours.
"should have called me from the beginning."

Just What I Need
Running the steam through the coffee machine you wiped the nozzle and smiled, there were just fifteen minutes until closing and the coffee shop you worked at was all but abandoned. Just your manager in the back counting the cash takings, and you were getting ready to box up the remaining muffins and cookies for the homeless shelter volunteer to collect dead on closing time.
You didn’t mind working the late shift, in fact you preferred it over the early shift opening up at 7am. The 7am crowd were grumpy, rude and always in a rush. The 7pm customers were tired, quiet, and always thankful for whatever caffeinated delights you provided them with.
The bell over the door rang as it opened and you looked up over the cups that were stacked on top of the machine, smiling at you saw the weary familiar face coming towards you;
“Good Evening Detective” you smiled as the beast of a man stood at the counter. His face softened as he saw you, his shoulders dropping a little as he relaxed.
“Hey… Sorry I’m in so late… you’re still open, right?”
You glanced at the clock;
“Another ten minutes. What can i get you?”
You watched as he cast his gaze up to the handwritten chalkboard menu’s above the counter;
“You got any Chilli left?”
“Sure, a couple of pots in the fridge. Want me to warm it up?”
He paused for a moment, as if trying to process the most technical question through his tired mind;
“No… yes… urghhh…” he took a deep breath; “Yeah… if you wouldn’t mind. I’m so fuckin’ tired i think I’d burn my apartment down if i tried to use the stove”
“Sure thing” you said with a smile as you got to work.
You made small talk as you prepared his order, pulling out the sides and condiments that came with the Chilli meal;
“Hey, you want a free muffin?”
“I’m not really into sweet things this late at night… what flavours you got?”
“How about an Apple Cinnamon? It’ll last overnight and still be fresh enough for breakfast”
The Detective smiled and nodded, pulling his wallet out as you finished bagging his order and rang it through for him, paying before you handed the bag to him;
“Have a good evening Detective”
As he turned he smiled at you;
“Call me Walter”
-
Three days later and you were on the late shift again. Again it was quiet, just the soft sound of tyres driving through slushy snow outside the only noise since around 6pm as just a couple of customers nursed steaming mugs of coffee from their window seats. You saw the big silver truck pull up in the space outside the coffeeshop and smiled, there was only one customer that drove a truck that huge and if you were being honest with yourself you were developing quite a crush on the curly haired Detective.
The moment he walked through the door you were smiling at him;
“Detective” you greeted him happily
“Didn’t i say to call me Walter last time i was here?”
“I like Detective, has a nice authority ring to it” you said with a wink; “What can i get you tonight?”
He paused for a moment, and as you reached for a notepad to jot down his order you missed the slight eyebrow raise and smirk at what you’d said before he cleared his throat;
“What have you got that i can eat in my office without facing the wrath of my Lieutenant for making the department stink?” he said with a grin as he leaned on the counter.
“I got Mozzarella and Pesto Subs? Tuna Melt?”
“Tuna is a no. The case isn’t going well, no fish. Gimme two Mozzarella Subs, and the largest black coffee you do”
“Sure thing. I’ll put a fresh pot on and get those sub’s on the press”
As you started to prepare his order his phone rang, and you couldn’t help but to listen in;
“... i’ll be like five minutes, i ain’t eaten all day… yeah ok… i’ll grab a box…”
He hung up and nodded to the cakes;
“Can i get a dozen muffins to go too? Got some grunts that are jealous that i got to escape the paperwork…”
“Sure thing”
Loading a box you picked what you knew were the best flavours and the freshest bakes;
“You know, we’re on Uber Eats. As much as its nice to see a friendly face, we can deliver to the Precinct”
“I… I have no idea what that is…”
“Its a food delivery app. Here, give me your phone…”
He unlocked it and set it down and rested his elbows on the counter as he watched;
“You go to the app store and just download it. Put in your location and it’ll bring up nearby eateries and you can search for us. It has all the standard menu on. Save your card details or link it to paypal, and its super easy, it even keeps you updated when the order is being prepared or its out for delivery”
He smiled as you pushed the phone back to him, locking the screen and pushing it back into his tight jeans;
“That’s all well and good, but then i wouldn’t get a chance to see my favourite coffee shop girl now, would i?”
You leaned forward and grinned, keeping your voice low;
“Order between 6.45 and 7pm and i snag the deliveries and do them on my way home”
-
Walter pushed the key into the lock, opening the door to his apartment and groaning as his body ached from tiredness. He should be elated, they caught the killer, the evidence was logged and couldn’t be disputed… and yet he was tired to his core. He’d been at his desk for longer than he’d been home, and when the Lieutenant had finally ordered him to go him a little after 5pm, it had still taken him the better part of an hour to finish up and leave the building.
Shutting the door behind him he felt his stomach rumble. He didn’t even need to look in the fridge to know it was completely empty, devoid of anything even vaguely edible. Checking his phone he saw that it was a little after 6.30pm and a thought fired across his mind, a smile forming. Fifteen minutes later he’d added far more to his online basket than he ever would have done in store, but for the first time he was able to see exactly what the creations were whereas in the store it was just a big pile of weird looking cakes and bakes. By 6.50pm he’d entered his card details and completed the order, the little update screen stating delivery would be by 7.30pm, just enough time to grab a shower, after all if it was you that would deliver, he should probably shower for the first time in 72 hours having rushed out of the apartment three mornings in a row due to new leads in the case.
The shower was far too enjoyable to rush, and after he’d washed his hair he started on his body, soaping over his chest and stomach before he paid extra attention to his dick. The anticipation of just the possibility of seeing you had him hard in seconds, and resting his head back against the tiled wall he quickly worked his hand over himself. He got lost in the moment, his mind taking him to places it shouldn’t, imagining his hand was yours, thinking about that time he saw you wearing over the over the knee knit socks and a skirt, how your ass was the perfect roundness, how your lips would look stretched around his dick… he came with a groan, thick white ropes falling to the shower floor as every ounce of stress left his body, his body shuddering when he was finally spent.
He was halfway through drying himself when he heard a knock at the door to his apartment, he eyes going wide when he saw it was 7.20pm;
“Fuck!”
He’d gotten carried away in the shower, and now he had to quickly rush to wrap a towel around his waist as a second knock came just as he reached the door, taking a deep breath before opening it and seeing you standing on the doorstep shivering in your padded coat, holding two takeout bags;
“Hey! Come in, come in, Jeez its freezing out there…”
Stepping into the apartment you couldn’t help but to look him up and down, attempting to hide your reaction as you could clearly see the distinct outline of something rather large bulging against the fabric of the fluffy white towel;
“Hey D-d-detective… Y-y-yeah it’s d-d-dropping fast out t-t-there… radio s-s-said it was g-g-gonna be a wind chill of minus t-t-twenty nine by eight o’clock… what a n-n-night to have my b-b-bike, huh?” You carefully dropped the two bags onto his coffee table as you spoke.
“You cycled here? On that pedal bike that is always chained up outside the coffee shop?” he asked incredulously, immediately forgetting his current state of undress. Shutting the door he immediately wrapped his arms around you, pulling you to his chest; “You’re gonna stay here until you’re warmed up, i’m gonna make you a hot coffee and to warm you up from the inside too...”
“I ain’t gonna complain to that” you mumbled, your face pressed to his chest as you suddenly melted against him, warming your cheek against his firm muscles before turning your head to warm the other one and he let out a little gasp as your cold hands pressed against his sides.
“I also said for you to call me Walter…” he said quietly.
Pulling your head back you smiled at him;
“Thank you, Walter. You’re the best… though you’re the first delivery i’ve made where i’ve been greeted by someone in just a towel”
“Sorry, let me go put some clothes on…”
You tighten your grip around his waist;
“I wasn’t complaining…”
There was no poignant pause, no longing gazes, his lips met with yours and the kiss was fierce and hungry. He was pushing your coat down your arms and you reluctantly released your hold from his waist to let it drop to the floor, your sweater following soon after. Your lips met again and he was lifting you, wrapping your legs around his waist as his hand rested on your ass beneath your skirt as he walked you through the apartment before dropping you on his bed.
He was pulling your boots off your feet as you scrambled up the bed, your hands reaching for your thigh high socks when he suddenly caught your hands in his;
“Leave those on…”
You paused and grinned, before his lips met yours again and he was on top of you, his hands sliding up your skirt and bunching it around your waist as he pressed a trail of open mouthed kisses down the valley of your breasts and over your stomach, before briefly lifting his head enough to pull your panties down your legs and toss them aside.
As he lowered his mouth to your core his gaze was intense, vivid blue shining through the dim light of his bedroom, his tongue pushing through your soaked petals and parting them as his beard brushed against your skin, heightening all of the sensations. Wrapping his arms around your thighs he pulled you closer to his mouth, his tongue pushing into you and he started to fuck you with it whilst his bearded face tickled your clit. You were squealing and struggling to stay still, needing to anchor yourself on something as your hips bucked and your orgasm started to rapidly approach, your hands finding their way to his still wet hair and your fingers wrapping around the dark curls as he pressed a hand to your stomach to keep you still, growling at your taste on his tongue as he felt you shake as your orgasm took over.
When your body had finally stopped shaking Walter pressed a chaste kiss to the inside of each of your thighs before he sat back on his haunches, licking his lips where he could still taste you on them. Pushing yourself up onto your elbows you grinned at him, your gaze travelling down his thick chest to his stomach, and the trail of hair that led beneath the towel;
“You gonna show me what you’ve got under that towel, Detective?”
“You ready for what i’ve got under this towel darlin’?”
Pushing yourself up to sitting, your legs spread and bent either side of him, you hooked a finger into the towel and tugged, your eyes going wide when you saw his thick meaty cock standing hard and proud between his muscled thighs. Wrapping your hands around it you relished the feel of his silky skin as it moved over the hardness beneath, your mouth against his;
“I need you inside me”
“I… Fuck… this wasn’t planned… i haven’t got any protection…”
“I’m on birth control, I want to feel you bare…”
With a growl he surged forwards, capturing your lips with his own before he pushed you down onto the bed. Holding himself up on one hand he hooked your leg up over his hip, opening you like a winter blossom as he rubbed his dick through your soaked folds, dousing himself with your slick wetness. You whined at the teasing, the way his tip would brush against your hole only to move up to your clit;
“Walter, please… you promised to warm me up from the inside…”
He paused, a smirk on his face;
“You want me to get you a coffee? ‘Cos i can stop…”
“NO, i need your diiiiiiiiii….FUCK!” He’d pushed into you as you were mid sentence, the feeling of his meaty girth splitting your walls wide open overwhelming you and your eyes rolled back in their sockets; “OH MY GOD!”
“You like that Darlin? You feeling warmer now?”
“Please… please fuck me…”
He grinned and shifted his hips, grinding into you;
“Well, as you said please…”
You had been expecting him to pound you into the mattress, you had not been expecting for his technique to start off with sensual rolls of his hips, filling you tenderly and carefully whilst you got used to his size. It was almost overwhelming, completely surrounded as he caged you in with his massive arms, his chest pressed against your own as his hips worked utter magic. He pulled his legs wide apart, shifting to rest on your open hips and he got even deeper. Pressing kisses to your lips and neck he soon had you moaning and begging for release, every push and pull hitting just the right spots and you were almost embarrassingly wet from the arousal but it only added to the sensations.
You could feel yourself coming, the pleasure too much to hold back, and with a long low moan your body betrayed you and succumbed to the orgasm that had been building in the pit of your belly. Walter kept up the same speed of his thrusts but pushed a little harder, a little deeper with each one;
“Can feel you fluttering around me, you gonna cum for me? You look so fucking beautiful all fucked out and wanting, feel so fucking amazing…”
Just as your orgasm was at its peak he tensed and you could feel his cum flooding into you, the twitching of his dick as he filled you with his seed prolonging your high. When you had both finally finished you could feel his weight start to get heavier on top of you, before with a sudden and surprising act of nimble dexterity he rolled the pair of you over so you were laying atop of him, his softening dick slipping out and you felt the trickle of his seed flow out of you. With one massive hand he pulled the duvet across your bodies, and you snuggled up to his chest;
“That was the best tip ever” you giggled; “In fact definitely more than the tip”
At that moment you not only heard but felt his stomach growl, looking up and seeing him grin sheepishly as he spoke;
“I just want you to know this is not how i usually treat food deliveries… do you want something to eat? Or drink?”
Nodding you smiled;
“That'd be nice”
-
A while later you were cleaned up, Walter having given you one of his massive t-shirts to wear which came to the tops of your thighs. He’d grazed through half the contents of his order as you nibbled on a muffin, having eaten at the coffee shop during a very quiet last hour of your shift. You’d laughed and chatted as the pair of you had eaten on the comfort of Walters couch, before you’d suddenly stopped mid sentence;
“Shit, i left my bike in the lobby… will it be safe there until i go home?”
Walter smiled at you, his hand curling around your thigh;
“Have you heard that weather out there? I’d be surprised if you could even ride it home through three foot of snow…” he paused for a moment; “Stay the night…”
You went to object, decline politely but you caught yourself, why? Why shouldn’t you spend the night? Taking a deep breath you smiled;
“I’d love to”

BTS reacting to accidentally hurting you during sex.
pairing: bts x reader fandom: bts warnings: sex ; oral sex ; dirty talk ; daddy!kink ; language genre: smut ; crack ; fluff word count: 1.4k+
a/n: HIII BEAUTIFUL, thank you for your request, I had a blast writing it and I hope you like it too ♥
kim seokjin
Sex with Seokjin was never particularly rough, so him accidentally hurting you was never a thought that had crossed your mind.
But despite sex never being extremely rough, it didn't mean that you two didn't like to experiment a little and the angle that Seokjin wanted to try today just really wasn't it.
“Hey,” you tried to get his attention, grabbing the bed sheets beneath you as you tried to push yourself up, “I don't think this is working.”
“Huh?” he stopped for a moment, “What, the angle?”
“Yeah, it's a little uncomfortable.”
For a moment you thought you might have hurt his feelings and regretted even saying something since he was apparently so worked up, but then your boyfriend started laughing.
“Oh, thank god. It’s not nearly as easy as they make it out to be,” and so he simply turned you around and pushed into you missionary style, kissing your nose, “This is much better.”
min yoongi
You've had your fair share of rough tumbles with Yoongi throughout the years, but tonight was by far one of the most memorable nights when it came down to rough sex.
Yoongi had been stressed and you had been willing for him to let it all out on you and he really didn't hold back. With the speed he was thrusting into you, you would have assumed that this sex session would merely last a few minutes, but Yoongi was holding on, had been going for nearly twenty minutes now and was determined to hear you beg for him for a little longer.
As he pushed your legs back to thrust into you from a different angle, you turned your head to the side and closed your eyes as yet another wave of indescribable pleasure washed over you.
But Yoongi wouldn't have it.
“Look at me when I fuck you.”
He wanted to grab your face and turn you back to him, but since he didn't stop pushing into you, his hand accidentally came down too hard on your face, basically slapping his hand palm first into your face. And despite the roughness of this, slapping hadn't been his intention.
“Shit, are you okay?!” he instantly stopped, his breathing heavy, but you just licked your lips and grinned.
“That a new kink, daddy?”
“You’re fine if you still know what to call me,” he pulled out of you momentarily to turn you on your belly and push into you once again and continue like before.
jung hoseok
When Hoseok was close, he had a hard time slowing down and you never wanted him to, too happy to see him so far gone, all because of you.
But today he had been particularly rough and he was slamming so hard into you that you were genuinely afraid that he'd reach your organs at this point.
“Babe,” you tried to talk to him and gently put a hand on his chest, “Calm down, please.”
“Why? Don't you like it?” he leaned down to your ear and slowed down only for a moment.
“I do, but..-” you gulped down hard, “I'm afraid you'll tear something inside of me.”
And even in this state, Hoseok understood a ‘No’ when he heard one, in whatever form that you said it. If you were uncomfortable, he’d stop, it’s as simple as that.
“Alright then,” he pulled out of you, but only so he could stand and bite down on his lip, “Come here then, baby girl.”
You shivered instantly and did what he asked, sliding to the edge of the bed to wrap your lips around his hard dick. And so now, instead of fucking your vagina, he fucked your mouth like there was no tomorrow. And even if you gagged a little by the end, when he screamed your name, it was all worth it.
kim namjoon
Namjoon has always loved taking you from behind, you realized that within the first three times of you two having had sex and now, after the amount of time that you've spent in this relationship, he has truly become a master of it and managed to find the spot that made you see pixels in front of your eyes.
Today was no different, him holding you by your hips and slamming so hard into you that you hoped none of his band members had come home. The sounds that were coming out of his room were definitely not PG rated.
You were thoroughly enjoying yourselves, but as you lowered your head just for a moment to try and catch your breath, Namjoon immediately grabbed your hair and pulled you back.
Only a little too roughly.
“Fuck!” your hand immediately reached for your neck, holding the spot that started to cramp up so fast that it felt like you had pulled a muscle.
“Oh, shit! Babe, are you okay?!”
And so what you had thought would end in you having yet another fantastic orgasm ended with him massaging your neck so that your muscles would relax again and ultimately, no orgasm for either of you. Unfortunately.
park jimin
This had been a stupid idea from the get-go, but everyone on the plane had fallen asleep except for you and Jimin and this had always been a fantasy of his.
So while everyone else was spending their time catching up on sleep, Jimin was fucking you from behind in the bathroom of the plane, which, despite the private jet, wasn't exactly big.
“You're so tight,” he moaned into your ear.
If you hadn't been so damned close to your orgasm, you would have said something sarcastic like: “just like this bathroom,” but all you could do was beg him to go faster.
And he complied with your wishes, of course he did, now chasing his own orgasm and not slowing down until he could finally fill you entirely.
But just as he pushed into you one last time, the plane dipped a little and you hit your head on the mirror in front of you, so hard that you actually thought you had a concussion for a second.
“What the hell happened to you?” Namjoon asked as he woke up a little while later and found Jimin holding a wet cloth against your forehead.
“Ah, nothing hyung,” he chuckled awkwardly, “Go back to sleep, she's okay.”
That’d be really hard to explain.
kim taehyung
The first months of a relationship were always the most exciting. Sex was something that occurred more frequently than when dating for a long time.
With you and Taehyung, it's been almost three years and today he had a day off and thought it'd be nice to go back to the good old days and have, what he liked to call, a fucking day.
Which is pretty explanatory in itself.
You were on your fourth round already and while you weren't any less horny at this point, your vagina was slowly but surely making it clear that she couldn't take much more.
Especially because Taehyung didn't slow down.
“Babe, babe, babe,” you stopped him when he wanted to turn you around, “Can you slow down? I'm starting to get really sore.”
“Do you want to stop?” his eyes widened, but only because he was worried, “We can stop if it's too much.”
“No, I just need you to slow down. Actually,” you quickly pushed him on his back and waited for him to settle against the pillows, before you sat down on top of him and kissed him deeply, “Let me..”
“How could I ever refuse?” he then let you decide on the speed and gave you full control from that point on. If you wanted to stop, you could stop, if you wanted to go faster, you could go faster, slower, you could slow down.
It was all up to you.
He was at your mercy.
jeon jeongguk
One of the things that you prided yourself with the most, was how loud you could make Jeongguk scream during sex. You knew the speed and motions you needed to get him to become a moaning mess beneath you, to fully give in to you.
Today was no different, you were riding him slowly, your hands flat on his chest as his eyes were closed and his fingers dug into your thighs.
“Please, don't stop,” he begged, you letting out a giggle and leaning down to kiss his chest, then his neck, then his cheek, before you reached his ear.
“You want me to go faster, baby boy?”
The loud moan he let out when you slammed your hips down on him was answer enough for you.
You had teased him for long enough and you were ready to reach your own orgasm, so you increased the speed, began to moan into his ear as you were coming closer and closer. Jeongguk's hand came up to your hair, holding you so tightly as his entire body began to tense before he let out the loudest “Fuck” you could imagine and spilled all of him inside of you.
But see, he had been very loud. Right next to your ear.
And so that same night, you had to go to the hospital because you were now hearing a very uncomfortable ring in your right ear that just wouldn’t go away, not even after hours of waiting.
Jeongguk just hoped that the doctor wouldn’t ask you what kind of sound you had heard when this had began.
