First time making wet specimens! These guys have been sitting in my freezer for a little while while i collected the materials to make them into proper specimens
Theyre stored in a 70% ethyl alcohol solution, injected into the larger crayfish's body cavity to help penetrate that thick carapace, and im going to check back in a few weeks and change out the liquid if it looks gross
if anyone has any tips for making and maintaining wet specimens id be happy to listen!

have you seen the tip to cut the upper strip in half (hamburger style), so that you get an extra teeth whitening strip... like you'll be missing the back side of your teeth, but an extra strip is an extra strip when theyre so expensive hehe😌😆
i dont know why i felt an urge to send this.. sorry about the insane salivating that these things cause, though 😓 😗
i have seen that!! that’s what i’m doing for my bottom row, since the strip is already massive anyway. and for the top row, i just fold it under !

in line with anti anti aging i really hate how completely unnecessary dental work is treated like a necessity in america. no one needs to be doing goddamn tissue tests. people dont need completely straight teeth. i dont even want to think about veneers. orthodontists will really convince tweens/teenagers and their caretakers that they need braces when they dont. yeah if theres an actual issue, treatment should be sought but a large chunk of the average braces procedures are ultimately cosmetic. and then theyre typically paid out of pocket and then youre forced to wear a retainer otherwise your teeth just go back the way they were. again, sometimes there is actual pain and jaw issues but most of it is just natural crookedness and its fine. if its not hurting you or not going to hurt you, its fine. your teeth are there to help sustain the rest of your body not to be wrangled by metal and rubber bands and gels into a set shape and pearly white color.
and dont even get me started on the class coding/discrimination by teeth

5 Dental Facts You Should Know About Teeth Whitening
Tumblr media
A bright, beautiful smile is something many people desire and strive for. While proper oral hygiene and regular dental checkups are essential, teeth whitening has become a popular option to get that pearly white smile. Before considering teeth whitening, it's essential to know the facts. Here are five dental facts that will help you navigate the world of teeth whitening.
1. Teeth Whitening is Safe When Handled by Professionals
When done by a professional, teeth whitening is a safe procedure. A trusted dentist for teeth whitening in Lansdale will use specialized products and techniques that ensure effective results. These professionals are trained to handle teeth whitening procedures, and they will take into account your oral health before proceeding.
2. Teeth Whitening is Not a One-Time Procedure
Teeth whitening doesn't offer permanent results. Depending on factors like your lifestyle and food choices, the whitening effects may fade over time. It is important to maintain your oral hygiene and visit a dentist regularly to prolong the results. Following key tips for maintaining white teeth after professional tooth whitening can help you keep your smile brighter for longer.
3. Not Everyone is a Suitable Candidate
Teeth whitening may not be appropriate for everyone. Individuals with gum disease, tooth decay, or extremely sensitive teeth should consult a dentist before undergoing whitening treatment. Pregnant women and those with dental restorations like crowns or veneers may not be ideal candidates. The dentist can assess your oral health and determine if teeth whitening is suitable.
4. Over-the-counter products May Not be as Effective
While there are many over-the-counter teeth whitening products available, they may not be as helpful as professional treatments. Due to lower concentrations of active ingredients, these products often do not deliver the desired results. Dentist-administered treatments use higher concentrations of whitening agents and are more likely to produce visible results in a shorter time.
5. Tooth Sensitivity is a Common Side Effect
During or after teeth whitening procedures, some people may experience tooth sensitivity. This sensitivity is generally temporary and resolves itself within a few days. To reduce this side effect, dentists may recommend using toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth or taking over-the-counter pain relievers. In conclusion, teeth whitening is an excellent option for those looking to enhance their smile. Knowing these dental facts can help you make an informed decision about the procedure. Always consult with a dental professional to ensure you receive the best treatment for your needs.

Many people say peroxide is beneficial, but here's what they don't say!
1. Destroying viruses: 3 drops of peroxide in each ear - and colds are gone! It also helps get rid of earwax.
2. Destroying germs: add 0.5 liters of peroxide to 3.5 liters of water and spray in the air to kill airborne bacteria.
3.Teeth whitening: 2 tsp water to 1 tsp peroxide, rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth.
4.Hair bleaching: use peroxide as a regular bleaching product.
5. For runny nose: 1 capful of peroxide to a glass of water, rinse your stuffy nose.
6. For toothache: mix coconut oil with peroxide and rinse your mouth.
